Missing print templates - Lightroom preset ones

All the preset Lightroom PRINT templates have disappeared.  I see the folder on the left that says Print templates and Lightroom templates and user templates.  If I import templates they show up in user templates as expected but the Lightroom Templates is completely empty - just pops up new folder box.  I have checked preferences and looked for the template folder.  I just has a folder for user templates which seems to be what the problem is.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times to no avail.  I also went back and deleted old versions (3,4) and the preferences files and every other file/folder I could find relating to lightroom including catalogs.  I have lightroom installed on both my laptop and Imac.  The problem is occuring on both so it seems that accidently deleting something is unlikely.  I've never looked at the print module before so this may have been going on for a long time.
Any ideas on how to get these.

I assume you mean, Edit / Preferences...  [presets tab] Location: [Show Lightroom Presets Folder]. If you haven't yet saved any print presets of your own, then LR has not yet had any need of a User folder to contain such. So one may not yet have been made.
The easiest way to get LR to do that, (and to be sure that you are looking in the right place) : click the + icon next to Template Browser in Print module.
IOW: save a dummy print preset, doesn't matter about its contents, but enter some very distinctive name and then click Create. By default this should go into "User Templates", which is made as necessary, though you can choose to make a differently named folder if you prefer.
Full path on my Win8.1 is C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Print Templates\User Templates
Then take a look in Explorer and see what has changed - if there's any problem, you can always disk search for whatever distinctive template name you have just entered. Copy your other bought templates alongside this new dummy print preset, restart LR and you should be able to start using any of those. Delete the dummy preset in due course.
(Note that it is quite usual for built-in LR presets to be held somewhere quite different, than user created or user added items. The provided choices such as "(1) 4 x 6" and "custom 1 over 2" may not be findable anywhere on disk, for example.)

  • Up-Sizing a Print Template

Regarding multi-photo print templates, I have one that is sized for 12″x12″ and has 15 cells. Is there any way to upsize a template as well as the cell dimensions proportionately without having to recreate a totally new template? I tried changing the paper size and, although the paper dimensions changed, the cell sizes remained the same as in the 12×12.
My desire is to print to a file that can be sent to an outside lab. If I send a 12″x12″ file dimension and ask for a 24″x24″ or larger print, image/print quality will suffer.

    Ralph,
No, the cells will not change with the paper size. Make a new template at the larger size wth resized cells, much neater, cleaner and in the long run faster..

  • Lightroom 5 print templates not allowing images to be moved into cells & not allowing individual cells to be selected

I've run into a problem using the LR5 print templates that has occurred suddenly and I need help figuring out what happened.
Yesterday I tried using a Print template from my User Templates menu and the one I selected wouldn't allow an image to be dragged into a cell.  I also noticed that the template wouldn't allow me to select the cells for size adjustment, either.  Other templates had the same behavior, even the templates in the Lightroom Templates menu.
Not only that, but when I hover the mouse cursor over the template name in the menu it displays the template properly in the Preview pane above the menus, but when I click the mouse to select the template the Preview display changes to one that's completely different, which is the same as what shows in the main viewing area.
I have a few non-Lightroom templates (added by me) that work properly, but all of the Print templates in the Lightroom Templates menu show these symptoms.  How can I get the Lightroom Print Templates to behave?
    Anybody...suggestions??
    Thanks!

I'm having almost the exact same problem.    the Lightroom library is not recognizing that the files stored in a LOCAL dropbox folder are the same ones as in the library.   So if I try to "synch" library, i end up with 40k photos that are missing from my library but they are not.   They are there.

  • Missing print settings tab in lightroom

Anyone know how to get the print settings tab in lightroom?  I have the page setup tab--but not the print settings tab.

I was watching Julianne Koss on AdobeTV talking about printing in Lightroom 5.  The left bottom part of her screen has two “tabs”—one says “page set up” and one says print settings.  On my screen I only have “page setup”.  A great deal of her talk is about Print Settings—this is where you choose the printer, the presets, the copies, the pages, the print settings, media type, color, color settings, print quality---pretty much everything having to do with printing.   I don’t have that tab…VERY  frustrating!
Hers looks like the first attached photo  (see tabs that say page setup and print settings)
Mine looks like the second attached photo  (see only page setup tab)
    Thank you for your help.
    Take care,

  • Lightroom Presets Missing

My last Mac crashed, and I ordered a new one.  Went to install Lightroom 3 last night and the disc would not work.  I then downloaded Lightroom 3 online and entered my serial number.  When I go into Lightroom the Lightroom presets are not showing.  I have spent nearly an hour trying to find an e-mail or phone number for support.  Suggestions greatly appreciated!

In the Presets pane, is the list of presets empty?
Or, is the Presets pane missing?

  • User Print templates will not hold Print Settings Presets

    Jeff,
You are correct it does work, I added a step not needed - I created a Preset on the Print Setting page, I should have left that as Default, it works that way.  How pleasant to get a response from you, I just watched Camera to Print & Screen #39 Print from Lightroom this morning where I learned about Print templates.  Thanks so much.

  • Lightroom Printer Template for Canon Pro9000

I have been trying to set up a printer template for my Canon Pro9000 that has as one of the printer settings that color management is turned off. I create a new template and/or I try to update settings on an existing template. No matter what I do, it seems like if the setting reverts to ICM. Also, it seems like it ignores the setting that I check for whether or not I want a print preview.
Are these just settings that can't be saved in a template, or am I doing something wrong?

I have a p9000 too. I am not aware that LR can set up a template with all the printer driver settings you want including turning off color management in the printer.
I always thought that every time you load light room, you have to reset all your printer driver settings in the printer driver (as well as specifying no your paper profiles and rendering intent in LR.
This ain't exactly great. I usually print in qimage which defaults to your previous settings for any given type of paper profile you choose.
    But LR isn't there yet.

  • How do I export/share print templates from LR4 on one computer to another LR4

I want to make special print templates for a client on my desktop production machine and somehow have those available on my laptop, too. Any way to do this? Sort of an Export? (Not images, just the template(s).)

Yep, if you right-click on a template in the Template Browser panel, you'll find an export option.  Or if you want to do a load at once, use the Show in Explorer / Finder option in that same right-click menu.

  • Another "Dark Prints" with Lightroom discussion

Ok, i've read every post on the internet on this topic. I've tried EVERY combination and solution out there. I have an Epson rx580 photo printer with iBook G4. Prints great in PSE4 and other apps (iphoto, etc). When printing in Lightroom...everything is really dark. Not just a tad. I've used epson profiles, managed by printer, managed by lightroom, changd color profiles, no color management, epson vivid...you name it. The only thing that comes close is choosing colorsync. My monitor is calibrated thru color vision Spyder system. I've reformatted HD, reinstalled lightroom, epson drivers, software. eliminated all non epson drivers. Hooked directly in USB slot on laptop...cleaned heads, alighned heads....changed cartridges. What gives???? I should not have find printing anymore difficult in lightroom than PSE 4. Oh yea..I only loaded lightroom when reformatted HD (no PSE4). Did I miss anything else? Please don't reply with any obvious answers that are already all over the net. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Abery-
I've previously posted a thread similar to yours. I use an Epson R2400 with a MacPro using OS 10.4.10. Every print came out darker than what appeared on the screen. I too tried "every" solution mentioned, which I won't repeat here. Alas, while roaming the forums I came upon a solution that appears to solve the "dark print" issue, although I'm not completely sure why. Here it is. With a photo selected from Library, select an appropriate template in Print. In the Print Job select the appropriate paper Profile in Color Management. Use Page Setup to select your printer and the appropriate paper info. Next select Print Settings to select your printer AGAIN and make sure the Preset is STANDARD. Select Print Settings, then appropriate Media Type. In the same box I've selected the Mode-Advanced, Print Quality-Best Photo, checked High Speed and Finest Detail. Under Color Management (especially important) select No Color Adjustment. All of the above has been mentioned in many previous threads. What comes next is the critical part I found recently one dark night when I was too tired to remember where, although I wrote down the procedure to try later. With all the above set up the suggestion was to then HOLD the OPTION key and select Print. This apparently bypasses the subsequent printer dialog and sends the info from LR directly to the printer. Therefore there is no double management as has been mentioned in other threads. The process results in the print being as nearly identical to the monitor as I have ever been able to produce.

  • Color shift printing from Lightroom 1.3

Windows Vista, HP officejet Pro L7580 printer, Lightroom 1.3, Photoshop CS3. All that being said and having used Photoshop since ver 5 with a variety of printers I find myself stumped with my latest soup of hardware and software. Screen colors do not print out anywhere close on paper when I try to print from Lightroom. Move the file over via "edit in Photoshop" and print from there and everything is fine. In Photoshop, whether Photoshop or the printer controls the color there is no problem. In Lightroom, however I have no control that I can find. I have no additional profiles so the printer controls the color. Photoshop and the printer are both set to AdobeRGB1998.icc. Other then just printing from Photoshop what am I missing in Lightroom?
By the way Adobe, in the future think about either Lightroom or Bridge but not both.

    Hi,
Just a reminder for those who missed that thread (I guess this fix also
applies to LR 1 although I didn't check):
[FIX] Darker prints and color shifts when printing from Lightroom 2
(this is for Windows - Mac users please look here for a similar fix:
    http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr_13_print/lightroom_print.htm )
    The problem :
When printing RAW or TIFF files from LR2, you get a printer output that
is much darker than it should be and that presents various color shifts.
I'm using an Epson Stylus Pro 3800 with the latest Windows driver
(6.50 - which is rather old by the way). The workaround described below
works for me under Windows XP SP3. It should also probably work with
other systems/printers/drivers. Use at your own (minor) risk.
The "official" procedure for printing from LR is as follows:
    1. Do not let the printer manage colors and select "Other..." from the
profile dropdown list and select the ICC/ICM paper/printer profile that
    you want to use.
    2. Click on Print... in LR which opens the Print Settings dialog.
    3. Select the options you need and the paper you're using.
    4. *Disable the color management from the driver's side* (in Epson's
drivers, "Mode | Custom | No Color Adjustments").
    5. Print
Unfortunately, *this doesn't work* for many of us and this produces a
print that is dark and has color shifts as mentioned above. Note that
the same image prints correctly from QImage or Photoshop CS3 (that is,
the printer output corresponds to what you see on your calibrated
    display).
Apparently, although color management has been (allegedly) disabled in
the driver, there's something wrong between LR and the driver which
makes that both LR and the driver are still trying to manage colors. In
other words, the "No Color Adjustements" option of the driver doesn't
    seem to work with LR.
The workaround (found after hours of hair pulling and paper and
    expensive ink wasting):
    In step #4,
    1. Instead of selecting "No Color Adjustments", set Mode to "Custom |
    ICM
    2. Click Advanced...
    3. Check "Show all profiles".
    4. Select Driver ICM (Advanced)"
    5. Set *both* the "Input profile" and the "Printer profile" fields to
the very same profile that you specified in LR.
That is, if you specified Pro38 PGPP (Premium Glossy Photo Paper) in LR,
then also select Pro38 PGPP in both "Input Profile" and "Printer
Profile". This has actually the same effect has disabling color
management in the driver (what "No Color Adjustements" should normally
    take care of).
That's it. When printing, you'll get exactly the same color results as
when printing from QImage or Photoshop. No more dark prints. No more
    color shifts.
One might think that the bug is in the Epson driver but in that case,
QImage would have the very same problem. So I tend to think that the bug
    is on the Lightroom side.
    Hope this helps.

  • Presets used for Printing / Relative Develop Presets

    Hi
I am still not able to produce accurate colors when printing on my HP Color Laserjet CP3505X (the printer does not allow me to disable color management, and yes, I am using a calibrated monitor). Even with the sRGB profiles mentioned here (http://forums.adobe.com/message/2165085#2165085) and printer settings on sRGB I still have a color shift in my prints.
But I could (by experimenting) find out, what corrections have to be applied to the images for them to come out right in printing (e.g. Temperature +600, Tint +15).
Is there a way to have such a correction applied while printing, like a preset used only when printing?
Or, if not, is there a way to define a develop preset which acts relative (cumulative), meaning that I only code the difference of what I want to be added to the rest of the development settings? Such a preset then could be applied as the last action before printing.
Either method would partially solve my problem.

Not using Lightroom's controls. What you describe is exactly what a printer profile is supposed to do.
I know that this is the purpose of a printer profile. What I would need is a correction (preset) on top of the profile used.
II. Create a real printer profile. You can either do this using a higher-end calibrator or using one of several services. Usually you download a file. Print it. Mail it to them and they send you back a profile that will work for the combination of ink/paper/printing settings that you used. See for example:
    http://www.inkjetart.com/custom_profiles/
    Or this websearch.
Since I cannot switch off color management with my printer, I am using the sRGB profile you recommended in this post of yours and let the printer work with sRGB.
I even would be able to create a printer profile myself (I own a Spyder3Print™ to calibrate a printer). But this involves being able to disable color management in the printer (driver) completely, which seems impossible with the CP3505X .
So what I would need is a combination of the sRGB profile I use, corrected by lets say 600K temperature and 15 ticks tint. But I have no idea how to get there.

  • I can't control borders properly when printing in Lightroom

I use large sheets of paper in my printer and typically want to print several photos on one sheet. In order to use the entire 19" length of the paper I select "borderless" printing in the printer options of my Epson Stylus Photo R3000 printer.  For example, I create a template with five 5x7 photos and two 4x6 photos on one 13x19 sheet of paper. I then want each cell to have a border of 7 pts. I set this in the appropriate print option in Lightroom. I select each photo and drop it onto the appropriate cell.  When I print this selection, Lightroom fails to preserve the 7pt borders of the various cells that lie on the outside edges of the paper.  It preserves the 7 pt borders everywhere else.  This occurs for any possible expansion setting I choose under the 'borderless' selection.
Conversely, if I do not select 'borderless' printing I get double width borders around the outside edges of the paper, single width borders on the interior edges, and therefor I cannot fit the last two 4x6 prints on the paper.
Is this a bug or is there a combination of settings which will give me what I want.

If you click on page set up in the bottom left corner a dialogue box appears, near the bottom it says "source" the default setting is "sheet" which is what you require, click on this and other options such as "sheet borderless" appear. Check that the source is set to sheet not sheet borderless.
