Missing Profiles

I downloaded HP icc profiles and placed them in /Library/ColorSync/Profiles. When I go to /Applications/Utilities/ColorSync utility and open it, and than open Profiles the arrows for System, Computer, User, and Other, when toggled open, do not show any profiles. I am using Photoshop CS3 and printing with the HP Photosmart Pro B9100. When in the Print dialog box and chose Color Matching the ColorSync button is grayed. I suspect there is something wrong with ColorSync and that is leading to dark prints.

It should be Macintosh HD>Library>ColorSync>Profiles
not the path explain above.
Anyway, this seems to be an issue with 10.6.3. Apparently after updating the display profile will go back to its default profile.
You just have to set it back to your custom display profile
Apple>system preferences>Display>Color

after restoring backup on new macbook with time machine Firefox will n to start. It says it is missing profile although profile exists and profile manager will not start. Also reinstalling does not help. Direct after starting Firefox it says profile is missing and then quits Firefox. Please help edit

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • Missing profile in Photoshop Elements

    Dear all,
Recently, when I open a file (jpeg or psd) with my Photoshop Elements, it always pops up a "Missing Profile" warning box, saying "This file does not have a color profile associated with it, what would you like to do? Leave it as it is (Don't color manager), Assign adobe RGB or Assign sRGB"
How can I fix this problem?
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Many thanks~

The answer is to assign the profile that the file should have been saved with.
JPGs and PSDs should have been saved with a color profile and some of what you’ve been working with have not been saved properly, so PSE is asking you when you open them what to use.
If these are your own images taken with a camera then you should know what the profile was set in the camera as well as if you’ve converted from one profile to another in PSE.
If these are images from somewhere else, then maybe the source can tell you what profile they were saved with.  If you have no way of asking or knowing then try each of AdobeRGB and sRGB and see which one looks better.
An image that should be AdobeRGB but is wrongly assigned sRGB will look faded and greenish.  An image that should be sRGB but wrongly assigned AdobeRGB will look oversaturated a little.  The differences may be subtle but one version should look better to you.
If these are your images, then always save them with a color profile so you won’t lose track of it and have to guess in the future.  If these are someone else’s images, then talk to the other person and see if you can get them to assign the proper color profile to them.

  • "Missing Profile" each time i open a graphic, how do i turn off?

This never happened with the old computer but with the new one after installing Photoshop CS1, each time i load a graphic, i get a popup titled "Missing Profile" saying that the file does not have an embedded color profile. The box asks me to choose to leave as is, assign working RGB, or to choose a profile from a list. What is causing this box to open and how to i keep it from opening from now on? This happens with every graphic and photo that I open.

It means the image does not have a color profile needed for Color Management. Usually you just see this from web pics. Most images from a digital camera have an embedded color profile.
You can turn it off under Color Settings. Just choosing the default North American General Purpose should set you up.

  • Missing Profiles in Camera Raw 5.5

I just installed CS4 and updated CR to 5.5.  When I click on camera calibration in CR I am missing profiles that are specific to Nikon D300 and other Nikons such as "Neutral, DX2, etc>  The only profiles are CR 4.3 and 4.4.  I updated another rcomputer and all the profiles are present.

Assuming you're on Windows like I am:
You might look and see if you can find the profile for your camera under:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
Rerun the install again but instead of just double-clicking, right-click and say Run As Administrator to get it going.
If that doesn't work then go to the ACR update page on Adobe's site and find the link to the Photoshop Elements-specific installer in a ZIP file linked from the main ACR 5.5 Update page, and then run just the camera-profiles installer in that ZIP.  The other part of the PSE instructions talk about manually copying over the ACR plugin, which you apparently don't need to do.

  • Batch Assign missing Profile - Adobe RGB

Is there a way to batch assign the missing profile?
Each time some images are opened we have to assign the missing profile manually - and save manually even tho' image has been worked on in Adobe RGB. Makes working with 100's of images very very slow! On MAC OS X Version 10.3.9. Look forward to some advice.

Open the Actions-palette, click on the notepad-symbol at the bottom next to the wastepaper-basket-symbol (thus creating a new Action), name it, and perform the tasks You want to record (in this case Assign Profile); as long as the Record-button is red any further recordable acts will be recorded, so hit the Stop-button (the one with the square) when Youre done.
To record this Action You will of course have to have one file open, but afterwards You can apply this to a number of files by going, in the File-menu, to Automate  Batch and select Your Action, a source-folder and a Target-folder etc.

  • Acr 6.3 missing profiles

    Hi guys;
I've just installed the acr 6,3 rc and have some problems with opening my nefs within photoshop cs5 and with the missing camera profiles under acr 6.3.
I've read all the stuff about these problems from these forums and tried lots of things with no success.
    1) my camera is Nikon d7000 and I'm trying to open d7000 nefs under cs5 with no success. It says "unable to use camera raw plug in"
(I can view the nefs as thumbnails from open menu in cs5 though.)
    2) to view my d7000 nefs, I use bridge cs5 and within bridge I can run the acr 6,3 and view the nefs but again they dont open under psp cs5.
    3) within bridge cs5, when I run acr 6,3, as a camera profile just 1 (adobe standard) profile is the only option.
(there are no other profiles like landscape,portrait....)
    4) within bridge cs5, when I try to open my existing ** d90 nefs** , camera raw 4,6 runs and the camera profile name is acr 4.6 and has more than 10 profiles as it should have(vivid,landscape....)
    5) I'm using xp but tried on win 7 and the same problems occur there too.
    6) I have installed the dngconverter6-3_r1_win_102510.exe as it is said in these forums and nothing happened, still just 1 profile under acr 6.3 with d7000 nefs.
Since I can open d7000 nefs under bridge + acr 6.3 , missing profiles problem is more critical for me.
    Waiting for your suggestions,
    thx in advance
    Melih

I don't think anyone has the new camera-centric profiles for the D7000, yet.  The fact the D7000 is supported at all is what people are happy about.
As evidence, I have ACR 6.3 RC and LR 3.3 RC installed on my computer.
As far as I can tell, by looking at the modification-dates of the folders under:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera and
    C:\Users\All Users\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera
the profiles that are new or updated this round are:
    Canon PowerShot G12
    Canon PowerShot S95
    Nikon D3100
However, under C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Adobe Standard and C:\Users\All Users\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Adobe Standard there is an extra Nikon D7000 Adobe Standard.dcp profile, and to Jeff's point, the D7000 is new and Adobe has only created their own Adobe Standard profile for the RC release, although I'd expect the other ones to be included in the final release.

  • Missing Profile Question

I have a logo that was created in Illustrator. When I open the file, the "Missing Profile" dialog box appears and I select "Assign current working space" which is U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2.  (BTW — I have North America Prepress 2 selected in the Suite Color Settings in Adobe Bridge.)
When I save or save over the original file, I keep getting the "Missing Profile" dialog box. If I select "Leave as is" or "Assign profile,"  I still get "Missing Profile" dialog box.
What do I need to modify so that the profile is embedded and the "Missing Profile" dialog box stops popping up?

What profile does it claim to be missing? If it's a custom profile AI is probably trying to retain it somehow since it can't find a matching generic profile...

  • Missing profile

    Hi,
I'm new here, so please bear with me.
I've been using Photoshop for about 6 years now (currently using version 7), and only in the past few days has this been happening:
I try to open a screen shot and get a "Missing Profile" message wherein I am given three radio-button options before I can proceed.  The message says:
"The indexed color document "xxxx.gif" has a file format that does not support embedded color profiles.  How do you want to proceed?"
    The options are:
Leave as is (don't color manage)
    Assign working RGB: sRGB IEC61966-2.1
    Assign profile:  Adobe RGB (1998)
Question 1: why did this just start happening?
Question 2: which option should I select (I have been selecting the second)
    Thanks,
    Lon Richardson

    Blumtain,
You dont have a profile mainatined in warehosue.
Go to transaction LRFMD and maintain Warehouse, user , status (mark it as 'X') default screen size (Usually 16X20 or  8X40) & main menu .
This menu will be called when you use LM01.
Dont forget to log off and log in after maintaining above.
    This should get you in.
    Regards,

  • "Missing Profile - The doc does not have an embedded CMYK profile"

For the first time ever last Wednesday each time I open a file in AI - CS3 I get the same message: "Missing Profile - The doc does not have an embedded CMYK profile". I looked in library>colorsync>profiles and sure enough they were gone? I downloaded new profiles from Adobe, installed them in library>colorsync>profiles - and still the same thing with each file I open. I dragged AI to the trash, re-installed AI from my disc repeated the process with the same results - HELP!
I don't seem to be able to find any info on the Adobe forum, I realize I need to upgrade but for now what is the solution - Thanks in advance. Boatingislife!

Hi Larry, Thanks for your reply along with Muppet Mark, If I changed the color settings originally it was not my intension, I was simply just opening the next project to work on and viola’ “missing profiles”.
Attachment (picture) 7 was my last setting for color prior to your email, and yes I was messing around with this last night comparing it to one of our old G4’s, so I can’t remember where it started out before I got my hands on it.
Attachment (picture) 8 is my current settings based on your email recommendations.
Attachment (picture) 6 is the message I receive when I open any files created prior to these changes I just made. However after I open and resave the file I no longer receive this (picture 6) message.
My question is will my color be back to where it was before the problem started last week. In looking over one of the files I opened (I design/build transportation maps btw) most of the color is where I usually have it set however some colors were fractional as if they were converted from spot colors. SO I’m not sure what to do except go through all the known colors and make sure they are where I usually would set them, or do you have a better suggestion.
Oh by the way – for all you guys that are helping lunch is on me at McDonalds on Michigan St in Grand Rapids, MI!!

    Hi John,
Thanks for the help, it appears that things are back to normal. Dang it – I was mentally going to buy the latest Mac just to remedy the situation – perhaps on the next problem. Hey to everyone that helped me with this I want to THANK all of you! I had no other local resources for technical help other than load it up and run it over to the local Mac repair place.
But I’m very protective of my files and that would have been really hard to leave it behind, I probably would have asked if I could set next to it while they fixed it. – I know weird but I have thousands of hours logged in creating my files as many of you do as well.
A big salute to everyone in the forum!

  • Missing profiles folder and files

    Hi all,
I had the damn "snap-do" malware on my Firefox, so I tried uninstalling FF completely and then re-installing it to fix the problem... but that just led to the issue of Firefox now not being able to find my old profile.
    I am currently getting the error message;
"Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."
I know there are plenty of other threads regarding this issue but they all point to the direction of creating a new profile using the following method: "Launch the Run dialog box, type in: firefox.exe -p ...".
When I try this though I get the same error as before.
In short, I absolutely cannot find the "profile.ini" file, and am assuming it no longer exists on my system.
    Can anyone help?

    Hello,
Reinstalling Firefox doesn't normally solve anything, as most problems are confined to the profile. You can use the Reset Firefox feature instead, which preserves essential data like bookmarks and passwords.
    * [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]
    # Press the Windows logo orb on the taskbar to bring up the Start Menu.
    # In the search box, type the following then press Enter: '''%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\'''
    # In the Windows Explorer window that opens, you should see the ''profiles.ini'' file.
    # If the file is missing, you can create it manually in Notepad. The contents should look something like the following, substituting the example profile folder name with your actual profile folder name.
    <pre><nowiki>[General]
    StartWithLastProfile=1
    [Profile0]
    Name=default
    IsRelative=1
    Path=Profiles/2htx1693.default</nowiki></pre>

  • ACE WAF missing profiles

    Hi all,
I'm working on an ACE WAF in standalone mode and found a problem. The built-in profiles for PCI and pass are missing, so I can not apply any policies, since all the xss, sql-injection, command injection, and other signatures are not there. I have tried to upgrade the appliance from version 6.0.2 to 6.0.3 but is the same.
I have previously worked with a cluster of 1 manager and 2 gateways and worked fine.
Is there a way to activiate those signature or profiles?
Thanks a lot, any answer is highly appreciated!!
    Fernando

    HI Fernando,
I am not sure if you have found the answer for this. What you need is to have BaseConfigSigned_1-0_1.ppf
This is downloadable with every release. So you can get this from download page. Once download you need to upload.
To upload this do the following
Rules & Signature --- >           Update Base Configuration
Hope it fixes your issue. Do let me know.
    Thanks

  • Downloading incomplete because of missing profile what is this?

Tried to download Firefox when I tried to launch it came closed saying profile missing. I do not know what profile I need.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
