Missing QT software

I'm running Windows 2000 system with Mozilla FireFox 1.0.6 as my browser.
When downloading a video, "Some necessary Quick Time software is missing. It may be available on the Quick Time Web site" is displayed with "Cancel" and "Continue" boxes.
When I press "Continue", I'm connected to:

which lists a variety of components or plug-ins.
How do I know which one(s) to select?

What if you miss a software update?

What happens if you miss a software update? Can you get it later or keep getting them?

You can update to the latest iOS any time you want. Presently the update are a complete iOS. Just note that if you have say 4.2.1 and and 3 or 4G iPod, you can only update to the latest, 4.3.5 today but not update to any of the ones between.

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

EP Install( i missed DI software unit)

have been installed EP7.0.
Then during installation, I missed DI software componentUnit.
How can I fix this problem?
I want to know how to add on DI to EP.
Is it possible?

No worries, you can add the DI as an usage type at any point of time.
Through SDM deploy the following SCAs:
1. DICBS*_.SCA - DI Component Build Server 7.00
2. DICMS*_.SCA - DI Change Mgmt Server 7.00
3.DIDTR*_.SCA - DI Design Time Repository 7.00

Reinstall of Tiger Missing Garageband; Software Install cd?

I noticed a previous post on this same issue. I, too, had to reformat my hd, and reinstall Tiger. In the process, Garageband was dropped. If the reply to the author's post is correct, the Tiger DVD Install Disc does not have Garageband on it? The app, he was told, is part of a Software Install cd? Unless that's Disc 2 of the OS X Install DVD's, I don't believe my first generation G5 came with a software install disc. What are my options? Buy iLife?

Yes, Disc 2 only contained OS 9.2, etc. However, the prompt I got when I attempted to open Garage Band was:
Instrument Library is invalid!
The instrument library is invalid. GarageBand expects a valid instrument Library folder in/Library/Application Support/GarageBand.
Please choose a valid instrument Library folder or quit and reinstall GarageBand.
And a previous post prompted me to look at the backup I made before my hard drive got wiped clean, specifically:
/Library/Application Support/Garage Band/Instrument Library.
I determined that the Garage Band folder was missing from my reinstall of Tiger, and dragged it's contents from the external hd into my G5. It appeared that a copy was successfully made(a lot of files got transferred), but when I clicked on the Loop Browser, I got the prompt that there were no loops present, and the buttons were all grey. Why can't I access these Apple loops? Any idea? Your help would be appreciated.

Missing my Software Component (SC) within the Software Catalog

Hi all,
we work with different Project tracks within NWDI on SAP NetWeaver 7.31. The current phenomenon where I am getting confused is: I am able to import a track with my Software Components from the SLD (from the NetWeaver Development Studio), but when I check if my Software Components are available in the SLD --> Software Catalog, I am not able to find these. Selft created Software Components of my own are findable.
Do I have to refresh / update anything anywhere in my SLD?

I'm confused. Which are missing in SLD?
If it's standard SAP SC, please updated CR contents.
If it's custom ones, you have to define them in SLD.

Call log details missing after software upgrade

My call log used to show various coloured telephone handset icons on the LHS denoting calls made, call received, missed calls, etc.
Since a recent software upgrade these are missing.
Can someone advise how I can restore them?

Available Software tab is missing from Software Center

Some users are missing the available software tab in software center. This is software that can manually be installed and is not required. Is there any specific rules for this tab to show or not to show?

Missing accessibility software

I am actually writing this question about my (elderly) mother's phone. Because she has vision problems, I wanted to show her the Accessibility software that I have built into my phone, but her phone doesn't have this software. I have a 3GS running iOS 4.3.3. Unfortunately, I don't know if my mother's phone is a 3G or a GS and am embarrrased to say that I have not been able to find that out (perhaps I'm missing something obvious). In any case, her phone is running iOS 4.2.1, which iTunes says is the latest version, so I think that it must be a 3G phone.
I have Accessibility software built into my phone (which I can access under General in Settings). This software is currently not on my mother's phone. My question is: Can her software be updated (or can something be added to it) that would give her this Accessibility software?

With a few exceptions, (G3 tower being one) for more than a decade most Apple products are of a clean design and the specific model name is never plastered on outside. The Axxxx number is the only precise way of knowing a product version. That is normally visible on any Apple product without having to open the case (with a few exceptions). I don't think it is anything deceptive nor nefarious.
Most people know what iPhone version they are getting when they buy one. It states it clearly on the box as I recall. (Mine is not handy at the moment)
The model number is on the back and a simple google search of "iphone 1241" which is incorrect still points you to many pages that tell the exact model numbers. As does this page:

hi, my photobooth software is gone. i still have the photobooth photos but the application itself is now missing. i tried using the applications cd that came with the computer to reinstall it, but it didn't work. i had upgraded to snow leopard (& i think photobooth is included in that) when it came out but that was a download...does anyone know how to get my photobooth back without having to pay for the download again?

You can restore PhotoBooth from your Snow Leopard installer DVD. Then run the 10.6.2 Combo Updater which will in turn upgrade the version installed from the DVD.
How to Use Pacifist to Replace Deleted or Missing OS X Components
Insert the OS X Installer DVD into the optical drive. Use a simple utility like TinkerTool to toggle invisibility so you can see invisible items. Alternatively, open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and at the prompt enter the following:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles Yes
Press RETURN.
To turn off the display of invisible files repeat the above command substituting No for Yes.
The install packages are located in the /System/Installation/ folder on the DVD.
Download the shareware utility Pacifist from VersionTracker or MacUpdate. Use it to extract a fresh copy of the missing item(s) from the file archives on your OS X installation DVD. The file archives are in the /System/Installations/ folder (use Go to Folder option in the Go menu of the Finder.)
Here are Four Basic ways to use Pacifist (courtesy of George Orville.)
A. Drag a .pkg icon onto the Pacifist window .....proceed to step 7.
B. Click on “Open Package ....” and navigate to package desired and click “Open” in the open/save window.....proceed to step 7.
C. Insert Mac OS X installer CD and when it mounts, navigate to .... Menu->Go->Go to Folder.
In the path field enter or paste ....
/Volumes/disc name/System/Installation/Packages (where disc name is the name of the CD/DVD that you inserted.
• Click on the "Go" button .....
• Drag a .pkg to Pacifist..... proceed to step 7.
The package you'll need will have to be discovered by trial and error, but for most applications you should start with the Essentials.pkg and/or Additional Essentials.pkg.
D. Insert your Mac OS X install disk 1 .... and open Pacifist.
1. In Pacifist, select "Open Mac OS X Install Packages" ... dialog may appear asking for disk 2, then disk 3 and finally disk 1 again.... {if DVD is not used)...If “Stop Loading” is selected...the procedure will stop!!!
2a. When loading is complete, a new window appears, click the triangle to display contents of each package...Select item and proceed to step 7.
2b. or click the “Find” icon in the Pacifist window and type the name of the software you need.
3. In the list that comes back, click the top most entry for the item that you want. ..... that is the one for the English language.
4. On the top of the Pacifist window, click “verify” .... you will probably be prompted for your password.
5. Enter checks for.... “verify permissions” and “verify file contents.” and click “verify” ....enter password when prompted.... you will get back output which may look like this:
20 files were scanned.
20 of 20 files were present on the hard disk.
0 of 20 files had file permissions that did not match those specified in the package.
0 of 20 files had checksums that did not match those specified in the package.
6. Click “close”. Go to step 7.
Extract or Install........
7. In the Toolbar (upper left), you now have the option to extract or install. Click a file in the lower list and those two icons will be enabled.
8. If “Extract to...” is selected.... navigate to the location where the file will be placed, select “choose”, select “extract” in new dialog that appears,authenicate , if prompted, click “OK”.
9. In the next dialog, click “Extract”.
10. If “Install” is selected... dialog will appear with the location/path of the installed software. Click “Install”
11. Type in your password, click “OK”
• Pacifist will begin to extract files.
12. In steps 8/10ß.... you also have the choice to “cancel”
Notes.....
• Pacifist may find that a file it is installing already exists on the hard disk. Pacifist will present you with an alert panel....
Stop
Leave original alone
Update ..... Default selection
Replace .... Replace option should only be used on full install packages

Missing Bundled Software?

Hi,
iLife '08 was installed on my new iMac but when I reinstalled OSX I could not locate where iLife was to reinstall it since it was not part of the 'bundled software' install. Am I missing something?

Ipod - Missing connection software?

Got my ipod nano, plugged it into my laptop and it says "Missing software" so i pressed repair, it says it cant repair it? Now my ipod nano has messed up and wont even switched on, it keeps showing the Ipod apple sign then switching off and repeating.
Any ideas?
Would formatting help? I wasnt sure if formatting would delete all files which would make the iPod play so uhh. yeah

Missing scan software

HP4580 all-in-one will not scan. It used to, when installed from the CD, but now the scanner software is reported to be missing. Running Win 7 Pro 63 bit.
I downloaded the latest drivers more than eight times. Talked to three support techs. The installation procedure crashes every time. Driver is PS_AIO_04_C4500_USW_Full_Win_WW_120_140.exe

Try updating the software by following these steps:
Click the Apple icon, then select About This Mac.
Click on Software Update, then click the top Store menu of the shown window and click on Reload Page.
Be sure to install any HP or Apple update, then check for any difference.
If the same persists, manually try installing the package below. tjen try scanning again:

Trying to update iphone 4 and am missing driver software, help?

I cannot figure out how to update or reinstall the driver software for my phone. it asks for the disk and i do not have the disk nor can the program find it online. can anyone help?

Uninstatll iTunes. Restart your computer. Reinstall iTunes.
