can't see at all my remote desktop dialog box. Does anyone has any idea???????
i have tried almost anything. I have opened exceptions in windows firewall for remote desktop. I started the remote desktop services manually but nothing happend, i still can't see the remote desktop dialog box and that's odd because i can see my remote
assistance dialog box in system properties-> under the remote tab but as i said i can not see my remote desktop settings.

First, please try the SFC command to check if you any corrupted system files:

If this issue persists, it is recommended to perform system restore to get back to a previous time point to check what the result is:
System Restore - Windows 7 features - Microsoft Windows

They're empty, no entries. When I download a file I can see the download progress but once the download is finished the entry disappears.
The Cookie Exceptions list is always empty. But I know the list contains entries because I have Firefox configured to ask me about allowing cookies. So there should be many entries with sites either allowed, allowed for session, or denied.I had the same issue: Exception list empty, but exceptions still present.
I've inspected my permissions.sqlite file and found an entry with permission set to -1. After changing this to 1, all exceptions were visible again. -
Remote Desktop Connection won't work from Leopard to Windows XP

I'm unable to connect to my work XP computer via my home iMac (Leopard 10.5.7) using Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection for Mac. The XP settings are correct, I'm connected on my work network VPN, and I don't believe I have any router firewalls causing the problem --- the reason I know this is because I also have an MacBook running Tiger (10.4.11) and it has been connecting to my work PC without any problems. So, this must be a Leopard firewall setting?
As far as that goes, on my iMac I've got Screen Sharing, Remote Login and Internet Sharing turned on. Again, work network VPN is on.
I'm getting this error from Remote Desktop Connection:
"The Mac cannot connect to the Windows-based computer
This problem can occur if:
- The Windows-based computer is not set up to accept remote connections
- The Windows-based computer is not turned on
- The Mac, or the Windows-based computer is experiencing network problems
Try connecting to the Windows-based computer again, or contact your administrator"
Anyone know of a fix? I'd greatly appreciate it!
Thanks.What Firewall setting do you have on your Mac? Try setting it to allow all connections. At least as an experiment.
Do you have any Proxies set in System Preferences -> Network -> Advanced -> Proxies? If yes, then is it possible that "Bypass" list is not covering the XP system. -

Greetings, I am working in Final Cut Pro 7. In the timeline some clips show as offline. I tried going to sequence and reconnecting to media but it does not work. I can still see the video in the timeline and work with it. It just has the red box. Thanks! Olga
If the clips are not actually missing, you could try to refresh the timeline by using cmd-0 and then going to the timeline options tab. Then select name only where it says "thumbnail display". Press ok to accept the change, then repeat the process to add thumbnails back to your timeline.

My photos on iphotos just became empty boxes, bordered by white intermittent lines. If I click on a photo it comes up, but I can't see what each photo is at a glance. Any ideas how to resolve this? thanks
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the options to rebuild the thumbnails.

How do I drag an image or text box to the "workspace" off of my working file but where I can still see the image and text box for future use?
When I drag the item off of the trifold that I am creating, it just disappears but I still want to use it. I just need to move it out of the way to modify other portions of the document.

You can look into Resource Manager and Event Viewer to find the other currently running MSI installation. You may get a warning in Event Log that means the MSI wants to install a SQL Server

ODP.NET needs to be installed on the client. OraOps9.dll is part of ODP.NET, not the Oracle Client.
Also, if an application is built with the 10g ODP.NET, can it be run from a machine with OraOps9.dll?
If an application is built with 10g ODP.NET, it can be run with 9.2 ODP.NET as long as you do not use any 10g APIs. The new features in 10g ODP.NET are included in the doc and the ODP.NET FAQ for your reference. -

I have installed firefox 3.2.64. When i click on the desktop icon nothing happens. The windows task manager says mozilla firefox is running but I can't see it anywhere. What might the problem be?A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

It's a weird one as it doesn't happen all the time. Could it have anything to do with running Apple TV and the MacBook 'thinking' there is another display (extended desktop) and playing the video there? -
I accidentally dropped my firewall, or openned it. I checked it in system preferences and it is turned off but I can not find how to put it back up. PLEASE HELP! I obviously do not want to leave this open very long, if you get my drift.
