Missing sapmsg.ini when configuring CCMSPING availability monitoring

Has anyone has any issues configuring Availability Monitoring with CCMSPING under RZ21 ?
Under the option, Technical Infrastrucure -> Availability Monitoring -> Configure CCMSPING Monitoring
Monitoring -> Create System
There is an option to import the SAPMSG.INI file
I have sapgui 7.1 loaded on this desktop
For some reason, the file SAPMSG.INI is not available.
I even tried defining a Group Logon on SAPLogon, SAPMSG is still not available.
Then we tried defining the system manually - all we got was a message, "system not found"
Has anyone tried doing CCMSPING Availability Monitoring on Netweaver 7.0 (Solution Manager 4.0) ?

Hi,
The SAPMSG.ini is created by your SAPGUI. check it in your Windows directory, there should be one if you are connecting to any SAP server using the message server.
Check this link for configuring availability monitoring:

  • CCMSPING Availability monitoring for Cluster system

    Hi!
I would like to know which entry in SOLMAN (tcode RZ21,  field Message Server Host Name) for the CCMSPING Availability monitoring of the satellite systemdoes apply?
The satellite system was installed as cluster with 2 nodes.
The problem is that I can see the node in RZ21 (Availability) but no data is shown
I think possible are the following:
    first node (ABCD1234)
    seconde node (DFRG1234)
    ABCDdbpxx (virtual db node)
    ABCDcipxx (virtual instzance node)
    IP adress of the system
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

The CCMSPING is used only to configure the logon check. After this there is a  data collection method CCMS_AVAIL_LOGON_CHECK responsible to update the status.
The normal configuration the method run in dialog every 5 minutes. Sometimes a solution for this kind of "value is obsolete" is changing to background.

Anyway, you also should check the ccms_selfmonitoring in RZ20.

  • Reg CCMS Availability Monitoring

    Hi ,
I am in the process of configuring CCMs availability monitoring for my Systems.
    I have the following scenario
    1. System A is the CEN System and the CCMSPING Server is running in this System.
    2. System A should monitor System B and send a mail if the Server B gets shut down
I have done the following until now
    1. CCMS Agents are running and i am getting CCMS  Alerts of System B from System A
    2. In Rz21--> CCMS PING Monitoring. I have added the systems
When i select the system B in Configuration Overview and Performance Availability and select Ping Test it is failing
Please let me know the following information
    1. Does CCMSPING installed in System B also?
    2. Do i need to create a SM59 connection in System B(as i have in system A) with name CCMS_SYSTEM_PING_DEST.  If so what are the parameters for that

    Hai,
Check your inputs for the System, such as Message server port, Message server host, CS Message server host/port.
or try re installing the CCMSPING utility.
Check the below link for further details.

  • When to user Availability Group versus traditional Clustered SQL Server

    Hi...
I'm trying to get my arms around when to use an SQL Server 2014 Availability Group. Here are the characteristics about my platform:
2 physical servers (Windows Server 2012 / SQL Server 2014)
Both servers connected to same LAN
External SAN storage connected DIRECTLY to each physical server via fibr3-channel. (No fibre-channel switch)
    Database resides on SAN storage.
I've set up a failover cluster between the 2 physical servers.
I've created a high availability group with a Primary/Secondary and synchronization.
Both Primary/Secondary are green and show synchronized. The concern I have is that the Primary says Synchronizing (No Data Loss) and the Secondary says Not Synchronizing (Data Loss). When I use the Failover Wizard to failover, it tells me that I will have
    data loss on the Secondary.
So my questions are these, do you need more than one Secondary node to have an effective Availability Group? If I only plan to have the 2 physical servers, should I be setting up a traditional Clustered SQL Server installation.
I've used the traditional Clustered SQL Server in the past and used the Active/Passive licensing for the SQL Server software but the Always On Availability Group looked interesting to me, but NOT if it requires more than 2 physical servers and more
than 2 SQL Instances (and licenses) to provide proper failover capability.
    All input will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brett

    Hi Brett,
An AlwaysOn Availability Group is created between several standalone SQL Server instances, you don’t need to set up a traditional clustered SQL Server installation when configuring AlwaysOn Availability Group. Also you can have an effective Availability Group
    with only one Secondary node.
From your description, you have an synchronous-commit availability secondary replica
and it says Not Synchronizing. This issue can be caused by the following:
•The availability replica might be disconnected.
•The data movement might be suspended.
•The database might not be accessible.
•There might be a temporary delay issue due to network latency or the load on the primary or secondary replica.
Please resolve any connection or data movement suspend issues. You can check the events for this issue using SQL Server Management Studio, and find the database error.
    Reference:
Data synchronization state of some availability database is not healthy
Availability databases in unhealthy data synchronization state (Error: 35285, Severity: 16, State: 1.)

  • Availability monitoring using ccmsping - refresh rate

So I've configured my solman 3.2 to monitor the availability of other systems via the use of ccmsping.  I can see the other systems well enough, but the problem is the long time it takes for my solman system to become aware that a monitored system is no longer active.
It can easily take 20 minutes for it to report that a system is unavailable.  When I say "report", I mean that the status is updated in the 'Availability and Performance Overview' monitor in RZ20.
Even then, the only evidence visible is that the 'Availability' alert changes colour due to the % availability over the last 15 minutes.  The other alerts for Groups and Instances simply turn white because no information is coming from the child system.
SAP help and the document "Availability Monitoring with CCMSPING.pdf" advice that monitoring frequency can be changed by changing the parameter values for the CCMS_AVAIL_LOGON_CHECK method.  I have changed these values, which have had no apparent impact on the response times for noticing that a system has become unavailable.
    Any suggestions?

    Hai Dirk,
I have checked all the ways possible, we have sapms<SID> in the IP service name filed.
Tried with 36<Instance number>, aslo tried with IP address in the host name filed but no luck.
We have 4 PRD systems out of which 2 works and the other 2 is not working. The working systems are 640 systems and the other two systems which is not working are 620 systems.
I have tried updating CCMSPING to the latest patch level as well.
The services file in the CEN system is maintained with correct values.
We have SAPROUTER running in our CEN system, and the entries can be found in my previous post.
We are not using the router to connect because the systems which are working do not have any router string attached to them.
Please let me know if you find any reason for the problem.
    Thanks in advance.

  • SAPGUI on MAC OS 10.4/sapmsg.ini ?

    Hi outthere,
i hope someone can help me.
A business customer of ours uses the operating system MAC OS 10.4 + SAPGUI. We want to change systems listed on SAPLOGON, but unfortunately we are not able to locate the files, logon data is stored in.
Where can I find the sapmsg.ini or saplogon.ini  (path) on MAC OS ? Maybe they have different filenames than SAP GUI on Windows OS (C:\<windir>\...)?
    Regards
    Christoph

    Hello Christoph,
please have a look at chapters "6. User Configuration" and "7. Administrator Configuration" of the documentation which comes with the SAP GUI for Java installation.
Easiest is to launch SAP GUI and to choose "SAPGUI Help" from the "Help" menu to get there.
In case you do not have a Mac available, just do the same with SAP GUI for Java on Windows.
When you became familiar to configure the logon with latter, it should be easy to instruct a Mac user.
    Best regards

  • Availability Monitoring from Solman

    Dear community,
we are using availability monitoring with CCMSPing from our Solution Manager as central monitoring system. We tried to configure a central autoreaction method that send automatically emails if a syste is down. That works for all other configured MTE-classes but not for the availability classes.
What could be the issue with that?

    Hello Christoph,
    > availability monitoring with CCMSPing from our Solution Manager as central monitoring system.
    > We tried to configure a central autoreaction method
the information regarding the availability is stored locally in your central monitoring system therefore a central autoreaction will not work here (because there is no agent that will trigger this).
As a consequence you have to configure an additional autoreaction that is started in dialog. Please note that the local autoreaction will be started in client 000 so you need also to configure SAPconnect in this client.

  • NWA Availability monitoring problem

With NW04s at SP8 I have an ABAP+J2EE system that is my Central Admin/Monitoring system.  I have setup CCMSPING in central system and also in RZ21 of the ABAP system.  I verified the systems are showing in RZ20 with green/100% indications.
When I go to set them up in NWA, I see them listed with yellow warnings next to them in the availability monitoring screen.  When I scroll down and click 'enable availability monitoring', I get a message at the top "SYSTEM_ALREADY_MONITORED".
Why might it be telling me that, even though the metrics are not showing up in the NWA?

    Hi Dave,
if you don't see the availability of monitored instances in the central reports, then you'll probably don't see it in the transaction RZ20 as well. Is this correct?
If so, did you check the following documentation?

  • CCMSPING - stopped monitoring systems

    Hi gurus,
I've a solution manager configured as a CEN ccms system. Also a ccmsping was configured properly and worked for a couple of years perfectly.
    Yesterday I got message in RZ20 -> ... -> availability and performance :
MTE class Availability_systemObject : No MTEs currently available
So I don't have availability monitoring on my system, the nodes are gray and inactive. I've installed the latest ccmsping agent 7.00 patch 140 and it still doesn't work.

  • Getting SPWeb.CurrentUser as null with Windows Authentication (AD), when configured for Claims Authentication

    Hi All,
We recently migrated to SP 2013 from SP 2010. We are using most of the OOB features, with a few custom code. We have implemented a custom ASP.NET Membership Provider that authenticates against a web service. This was working fine on SP 2010.
The entire code base was migrated to SP 2013 (with .net fw 4.5, etc) and any issues Compile / Runtime were fixed. However, we are stuck at one bug, which seems to be occuring only while trying to login with Windows Authentication. When a user tries to login
with Forms Authentication, the error is never noticed.
    Scenrio: Login as Windows Authentiction.
Result: The user is signed into the system and is authenticated against the AD. For random page loads - it throws access denied (even though he is a site collection admin). While attaching a debugger, we found that, at times the SPWeb.CurrentUser is null (weird).
At the same time, the HttpContext.Current.Request.IsAuthenticated returns true. Which means the User is Authenticated, but not available in the SPWeb.CurrentUser object.
Attached are couple of ULS Logs that we found. The line which says IsAuthenticated=True, UserIdentityName=, ClaimsCount=0 is a little disturbing. Can you please let me know what is happening here? I am not able to access the root site (http://win2012d2:1234/)
however, i am able to access (http://win2012d2:1234/SitePages/Home.aspx) just fine, without any issues.

    Hi Mohamed,
According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when users login with Windows Authentication.
From the error message, I recommend to check if the anonymous access is enabled for the web application.
And please also make sure that the users all are available and have permission to access the site.
