Missing scrub control and subclip creation

Even if you can accept all the stuff that has been thrown out in FXPX, which I am finding kind of tough to get my head around, does throwing out the scrub wheel and the ability to make subclips without doing it on the timeline make any kind of sense to anyone? I may be getting cranky and old and set in my ways, or maybe I am just plain dumb and have missed something, but if I have a 20 minute take and want to break it down into three subclips (which was a trivial task in FCP7) FCPX makes me go all around the houses to get the job done. If I start the job using the filmstrip in the event library and need to select precise frames for in and out points, I am reduced to using the j,k,l keys to set the markers - because of the lack of a scrub wheel - and even that is tough compared to being able to preview the clip and set in and out points using the dual screens in FCP7. The unified screen is great as long as you never do any more than trim edits on the timeline and completely frustrating if you want to prep clips as I described above.
If any of the FCP team are reading this, great job on the speed and responsiveness of the app, but can we have our dual edit screens back, not to mention the scrub wheel? Not to mention all the other stuff that has been thrown away in the name of an attractive interface?

But what I'm trying to get my head around is this:
Assume I was creating a 3-minute film from 6 hours of footage of people being interviewed about dogs.
In my current workflow, the first order of business would be going through all the footage, and as I found a good statement, let's say, about poodles, I would make a subclip and place it into a sequence I'd name "poodles." I'd do the same for "shepards," "collies," etc. I wouldn't need to spend time typing in keywords: simply select a rough in and out point and do a quick overwrite edit to place the clip into its appropriate "logging" sequence.
When I'd looked and "logged" all the footage in this way, I'd create a new sequence which would be my First Pass of the 3 minute film itself.
I'd then be able to rapidly go through (scrub or quickly play) the "poodle" sequence, e.g, and find clips that I'd then copy and paste into my First Pass Sequence. I'd do this for all of the initial sequences until I had a rough assembly of the film.
As I went along I would duplicate the First Pass Sequence to create a Second Pass Sequence, etc until I had a final cut.
This process has been very efficient and very fast.
I'm afraid the need to type in keywords might be much slower. And the inability, as I understand it now, to have multiple sequences at my fingertips, could really make creating this kind of film a cumbersome process.
I'm not giving up on FCP X yet, but I'm getting close.
If anyone has ideas on how to approach the kind of editing I've described in FCP X that would bring things up to speed, I appreciate it.
I need to decide whether to stick with Apple or start seriously looking at Avid or Premiere.

Missing LO changes and creations since one month

Hi
We have some issues with our LO data source and now the issue has been resolved. We need to delete the requests since one month
and reload. We have the following date selections available in the info pakcage Createdon and changed on. Can we load all the
changes and new creation during that time with this selctions without getting duplicates ?

this part will create issue as it will send records to cube which are already present in the cube since they can have created on dates in the past.

created on is static and will never change...so a record created in 01.01.1900 will not come in your selection based on created on but it is still present in the cube.
now if the same record got changed in the last one month..i.e. the time when the delta was not working...if you give the changed on selection then it will bring the same record again...and may be if your load goes for two days then for the third time as well if it gets changed on last loading day...

first you loaded created on 01.01.1900-31.09.2008
then changed on 01.10.2008- 02.12.2008
Now there is one record which as created on date as 01.01.1900...and changed on date as 02.10.2008...and if the old record is not deleted from the cube then it will get doubled. after load based on changed on
also if the load keep on running for two days and is the same record got changed on 03.12.2008 then it will come thrice.
So in any case you will have to delete the history from the cube to load the data correctly.

Plant selection missing from dropdown during PR and PO Creation

I am currently experiencing problems during PR and PO creation. Everytime I try to access the list of selection for the plant field, the system does not display any entries. (In our sandbox client)
In our dev box, I was able to perform the 2 fucntions succesfully. Can you guys please help me check what would be the issue for this? What would be the procedure that I should follow to investigate this concern?

It is up to the consultant who is configuring the system to decide how it ahould be done... one dev 1 TR or many dev 1 TR.
Say now you have created 2 TR's for plant creation and plant assignment.
The TR's should move in to other client has it is created.
now for example ur plant assignment TR is moved first and then the plant creation. the other client in which it was moved will contain only plant creation that is it has our assignment TR is overwritten by the 1 TR which is plant creation.
Usually consultants do it this way.
1 TR - Org Strusture
1 TR - Purchasing
1 TR - Inventory
1 TR - Invoice
1 TR - Valuation and AAD
and so on..

Problem with Quicktime controls and commands

I'm finding the best way to put a video together is to edit individual pieces with QT Pro. Problem is that it's pretty darned annoying because mouse and keyboard controls don't always work as they should.
Sometimes I'll press the space bar and instead of playing, the volume mutes/unmutes...there is a blue glow around the volume controls and until I click around and unlodge it somehow, it stays that way.
Other times, I'll click on the timeline and instead of the playhead moving to where I click, it will move forward a little bit....or it won't move at all.
And on top of that, I still haven't found solid documentation on when the playhead turns dark, as opposed to staying "hollow"...or whether or not that's relevant to the problem.
I've found plenty of resources that have shortcut keys listed, some of them "undocumented." But I feel as if I'm missing something...is there anything I can do to avoid these problems, or at least is there a rhyme or reason as to how they happen?

Remote control and MSI PC-DTV Mega Sky 580

I bought one of these recently and initially had problems when installed. It would initially run fine but after I closed the program down and restarted it the PC would just reboot.
I was using the front USB ports so I moved it to the rear ports and removed and reinstalled the drivers/software. It runs just fine now and the quality of the picture superb. I've rerun the device over a few days and all seems okay. I appear to have all the available programs from the Sutton Coldfield transmitter although this morning I booted up and the screen was blank. I realised I had last looked at BBC4 and of course thats only a part time channel!
I've looked at the MSI site at the drivers/Presto PVR updates but I am not sure which of the four I should download and use. In fact as the device is working is there any advantage in doing this?
Lastly... I'm not sure if this is a problem or not but the remote control doesn't work. Reading through the forum I'm wondering if I have the wrong end of the stick and the remote only works with Microsofts MCE. I have Microsoft XP SP2. Does the Mega Sky 580 not have a built in IR sensor and am I wasting my time pointing the remote at it and swearing?

Okay I have the bundled Presto PVR software so the unit must be faulty. I thought that the remote control and bundled Presto PVR would only work if installed on a PC where the operating system was Media Centre Edition.
So the remote control and bundled Presto PVR should work if installed on a PC with Windows XP SP2?
It looks a bit like I'll have to get a different make. I tried to rescan the channels last night because I was missing UKTV History and now I cannot get BBC1,2,3,4 or radios 3,4,6,7. I get loads of duplicates though like 5 Q's 4 ITV3's. All this on the same aerial I was using yesterday.
I even tried it with an indoor/attic aerial that works nicely with my other freeview (set-top style not PC) boxes but no matter what I tried I just get the same duplicated list of a few channels. Even tried it with the indoor/attack aerial upside down, back to front! Same list of 63 channels but most duplicated.
They all work fine but I would prefer a complete set

Define Control for Automatic Creation of Pick HUs

We are using full blown HU management and in the customizing for the Control for Automatic Creation of Pick HU's you define the packaging materials to use. The help in from of this customizing says that if this is blank the system attempts to find a common packaging material for all materials in the transfer order.
My issue is that when I leave this blank the packaging material that the system proposes is not the packaging material that is contained on the source HU nor is it the packaging material that is contained in the Packing Instructions.
How does the system determine the packaging material on the destination HU? Am I required to maintain a value in this customizing?

I have found a FM RV_INVOICE_LIST_CREATE which I think can serve my purpose. I have the billing type, billing date and the list of billing documents to be used to create the list. But the FM also asks for the below tables to be passed.

XVBRK
XVBRL
XVBSS
As I will not have the data to be passed into all of these tables, can I pass initial tables and only populate XVBRK with the individual billing documents? Will this work?

Voice control and play order

I noticed that playing songs by artist via the voice control feature ("play artist whoever") results in all the albums being played +as albums+. By contrast, if you select an artist from the menus, and play "all songs", it plays them in alphabetical order by song.
Since I prefer to listen to albums in the original order, this is an unexpected benefit to the voice control feature.
I just wish they'd bring back the "shuffle by album" feature; I miss that.
Anyone notice any other useful quirks?

I can use my Jawbone 2 to activate voice control just fine. As if it were any other phone that has had this technology for years.
As far as using "Activate Voice Control and request(ing) whatever", the 3rd contact on my Favorites list can get me hookers and crack cocaine, so does that qualify?
Summary: Click on button at the top of my Jawbone -> Activates Voice Control -> Say "Dial. Lou. Mobile" -> Wait a few seconds. Say "Lou. Me. The usual." -> press center button on Jawbone to disconnect. -> go back to watching Sports Center.

Is it possible to customize the ARUN table (J_3ABDBS) and delivery creation program (transaction VL04) in SAP?

I am a student, pursuing MBA and currently doing internship with a big fashion and lifestyle company in India. I am stuck at a place where i need help.
We are planning to give customer the control over the time of delivery of their orders as per their convenience. For that I am exploring the possibility of modifying the ARUN table in such a way that an extra column is added into the ARUN table. this field will contain a flag value (1/0) where '0' will indicate that the customer wants to block delivery for the specific items.
at the time of delivery creation, transaction VL04 should check this flag value for every item. So when we try to create delivery for a whole order in one go, the delivery for the items with '0' flag value shouldn't be created.
basically, my whole purpose is to enable our SAP system to create delivery on item level instead of on order level.
Ques:
1. Is it at all possible to do what i am thinking of?
2. has any company customised the ARUN table and delivery creation program before?
3. If we go ahead with this customisation in-house, will the SAP pull back the maintenance support on account of tempering with base programs?
4. Also, please suggest other ways to do what i am trying to do?

you can use the Tables SRRELROLES and IDOCREL
if it is inbound delivery the use the business object BUS2015(outbound use LIKP)
first get the ROLEID using the Delivery number as Objectkey(business obecjt BUS2015/LIK) from the SRRELROLES,
then pass the ROLEID to the table IDOCREL to ROLE_A , get the ROLE_B,
use this ROLE_B supply to ROLEID of SRRELROLES table(business object as IDOC, )
get the objkey which is nothing But IDOC.

Automatic PGI and Invoice creation

Hi Friends,
I had a requirement in SD area where once we create sales order, the PGI and Invoice process should run in the background ( Automation Process). The scenario here is -- when we create sales order, the delivery document also gets generated.
My approach -- for PGI and Invoice process, I need to develop the BAPIs. ( for Post Goods Issue and Invoice creation).
After the creation of BAPIs, I need to call these bapis in the standard sales order creation process.
Searched the forum on this issue. But cant find the appropriate answers.
Please suggest me the solution for this issue.

You don't call anything else from the standard sales order process. Sales order creation stands alone; every other process is a subsequent process. Automatic delivery creation can be implemented by sales document type config, which it sounds like you already have in place, or you're using the delivery due list. You also don't need another program for billing doc creation; use the billing due list program scheduled at certain intervals.
The limitation on billing is the PGI if your copy control specifies that you can't bill until PGI occurs. I don't understand why you would do this automatically, without confirmation that the shipment has left your warehouse. If your items aren't really relevant for PGI, then you can configure them that way so that it's not required. However, auto-picking and auto-packing are done via delivery output determination code using the functions WS_DELIVERY_UPDATE_*. You might also try to PGI the delivery there as well with WS_DELIVERY_UPDATE. Otherwise, just use table drop and trigger the WS_DELIVERY_UPDATE function for the PGI from a custom program; you can then run billing due as a second step in the job.

Macbook pro w/ Mavericks - right command and right option functioning as shortcuts for mission control and show desktop

Hello,
All of a sudden my right command and right option keys are functioning as shortcuts for mission control and show desktop respectively. I haven't changed anything and can't seem to find any shortcut option in system preferences to change it. Control + up still works for mission control as default, and F11 is still show desktop. Left command and left option are working as normal.
Any suggestions? I have a feeling theres some silly little thing I've missed...

That is an interesting issue with the keyboard. To help isolate the issue, open up the Keyboard view to see if there are any keys being held down while you are typing to see if that is the issue. You will also will want to try this in another user on your computer to see if it something that is User specific or system wide. Let me know if you have figured out this part and I can help you further.

1) The VCS control is configured in cluster how we need to proceed with upgradation first with master or with slave VCS.
2) Where we can take the backups of the VCS
3)Whre we can download the software for both expressway and control
4) Both VCS control and expressway are in communication with each other.Which one we need to upgrade first expressway or control.

If you are thinking to go on x8.1 then obviously i assume that you must be running TMS-PE for provisioning.
Compared to legacy (opends) method, PE is more flexible and it is simple to upgrade.
i will suggest you to go through the below document for upgrading the cluster.

- i think you should first take the backup of VCS, atleast backup of master server. to do that go to maintenance and from there you would go to "backup and restore" and backup the VCS
- you can go ahead with upgrading your VCS slave first and then master, atleat i take that approach!! i never saw any issues with that may be some one else take a second approach.
- you would be able to download the software at the below page.

PID Control and Maxon EPOS 24/5

Hello,
I'm trying to control a Maxon RE-40 motor through a Maxon EPOS 24/5 motor controller. I'd like to use torque control, and eventually stiffness control, but for now I'm just hoping to do something super simple like current control. The attached VI is as simple as they come, but I can't find a set of control gains to make the system stable. I mounted my motor into an MTS Servo-Hydraulic System
and oscilated the motor with a sine wave (1 deg amplitude, 0.5 Hz frequency) and no matter what set point or control gains I use, the PID output exceeds the maximum range I've specified (and I've been very generous with that). Do you have any ideas of what I might be doing wrong?

I am interested in doing torque control, but I think that's equivalent to current control for a DC motor. I can't open the VI you uploaded in your message. It's missing sub VI's that start with "PID." If you're willing to share your code, can you post all the VI's associated with it? I would like to send a particular current profile to the EPOS2 24/5 and have it execute the movement, and then send me back all the associated position data. Do you have this functionality?
