i just recently purchased a torch and it is version .337 and i noticed that the browser search was missing

By just typing what your looking for in the bar and pressing enter, it will automatically search. For example, the image you attached shows "pizza" in the bar. If you hit enter, it will automatically search for "pizza" using the default search engine (this search engine is base on your carrier).

Missing search option (software update 1.3)

Hey-
When I go into the music category of other people's iPods, they have a feature that allows them to search through their music by scrolling to a letter and typing it in by pushing the center button. It seems that my iPod doesn't have it. I've restored it and such to try to get the feature to install, but to no avail. I have the software update 1.3 and the model number is MA147LL. Please help me to figure out how to get the search feature!

Not all iPods have this feature. I believe it was only late 2006 and later versions of the fifth-gen that actually have this feature.

Firefox installed the latest version. Now my google browser, history etc. doesn't work anymore. It doesn't respond. I can't run searches from the browser. youtube button is missing. I've tried opening firefox in safe mode but that doesn't work.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Title Search Option Missing on iPhone via Home Sharing

When accessing home shared media via my iPhone 5, the search option (to enter a movie title) is now missing. This occurred after the iOS 7 update. Is there another way to do a title search, or are there plans to add this option back? My apologies if this question is listed somewhere else in this tangled mess of discussion boards.

And when you be planning to get this feature in to the upgrades? I mean, I'm very dissapointed of the ipod all ready, the only thing that makes me still in love of the ipod is that beautiful big color screen, but I even think the disign of the 3th gen ipod was more beautiful that the new one.
I remember old days when the ipod came whit a lot of accesories on the box, like the remote control, the dock, 2 cases, Oh! and firewire! Now, it can't even have a funtion upgrade!! What's next? remove the earphones to? come on!
Hope, you guys on apple can inlcude the search funtion in future upgrades, oh and I know is to much to ask, but... may be if you can have back firewire conectivity, I'll love you!

Search option slider buttons missing (RH11, IE10, responsive HTML)

I am using RoboHelp 11, Internet Explorer 10. I generated a responsive HTML output using the default layout.
Problem: the slider buttons for the search options: "Highlight Search Results" and "Show results that include all search words" are missing. (see screenshot below)
However, the slider buttons seem to show up when I use the "Government" layout.
(There doesn't seem to be responsive html forum, so I posted here.)

The only thing I changed was the @media statements in the layout css to reduce the minimum size for the desktop layout. (Is there an easier way to do that than directly editing the css?)
I didn't have time to fully try your suggestions. On quickly looking at the developer tools console, it only mentioned two unmatched bracket (>) errors, but I'm not sure that had anything to do with it. I also tried copying the image file into the output directory, but that didn't do anything.
I will take a closer look later next week and try your tips with the baggage file. I haven't been able to recreate the error anywhere else except on my work computer, so I may also just try to start over a project from scratch.

Why is there no "SEARCH OPTION" in the Windows Store? Apps missing be nice if I could find them !

Since on this journey from Win 8 consumer preview to Win 8 retail preview ..And no currently trying out Win 8 Pro...It verified if it was gonna give me back ( allowed to re-download ) the apps I was used/had in previous editions. The Store gives you
a selection of YOU APPS from previous versions of the OS preview of apps you installed and currently would want to reinstall. Various versions of the Consumer preview I installed 2 out the 4 times i installed the OS seen I had installed the app Comixology.
When the first time I installed Retail preview it didn't have it in my list nor was it listed in the store! Same goes with Iheart Radio and Slacker Radio though numerous installments of the OS. Now trying out the Win 8 Pro 9200 version It showed I at
one point no matter what PC I used ( I own a few and bought a new one recently ) It showed at one point I installed Comixology. Yet it didn't show Iheart Radio or Slacker in my install list of old to reinstall nor was it even in the Store!!!! \\\So
what the hell gives ????? I mean If there was a SEARCH Option it would make it easier to track these Metro ( whatever they are calling it now -personally I think they should call it FRAMES as in Window Frames :P When you go on these
programs sites they only offer up Apple or Android app downloads and nothing mentioning of Metro or Win 8 -which is understandable due to not being released yet but still if the Store can't comply with your history of app install base ( paid or free ) and
you can't have the ability to retrieves said apps you once installed how can that be trusted if and when paid apps are bought if you are only to reinstall the entire OS and find that your app is not obtainable via offered through the main store or even in
your downloads app install history. I hope they fix this issue as it's been pissing me off since this whole testing thing!!

Sorry if I offended you by using an anecdote - the actions of kids are simply an easy way to explore the actions of adults. Growing up doesn't change base instincts. Most people (myself included) tend to have an immediate distrust of change when
it is not change that they are instigating, when it is forced upon them. What better example is there than a child, where many big decisions are made for them?
As for the new interface, I didn't catch on until it was revealed to me (or I hit my head against the wall, can't remember), so I'm not saying it is easy. Better education is needed, but going back to the old way doesn't help. The five or six
questions I have answered today are questions that I myself had, and wished someone had answered for me. This is a
drastic change from old versions of Windows. I even told my boss yesterday that I can't see his company (I'm a contractor) switching any time soon - too much new stuff to learn. That being said, once there are some good training tools available,
I do believe that this OS will be a good choice - it does feel more intuitive after only a few days of use. A training course is likely necessary for new users, however my guess is that this will wind up being a beneficial change (long-run)
for IT departments, because the system does feel more aimed towards the casual user. No matter what program you use, the search and settings are in one easy place.
I admittedly do not have a lot of files in my Skydrive, however the file that is there is purple, while the folders are blue. Not sure if all files are like that, and I really do not have the time to explore those differences. That being said,
the number in the bottom-right seems pretty self-explanatory, the number of child elements in the container. I barely remember the old Skydrive interface, however I do remember it felt clunky. Whether or not the changes are a true
improvement, it does feel more streamlined.
Metro (or whatever it is called now) is confusing. It is scary. (My word, not yours, nor am I trying to imply it.) It is definitely
different from the past. But it makes sense. Same interface on every MS product: Xbox, Windows, and Phone. Microsoft didn't exactly
pioneer this idea, either. Apple has been creeping in that direction for a while now. As I said previously, I can move around faster in the new Start menu than I could in the old, and I can actually do
more without ever putting a hand on the mouse - for anyone that is waist-deep in computers, regardless of their specific job, that tends to be a
good thing.
There are a lot of growing pains here, for both Microsoft and the consumer. Has MS gotten it right? Not yet, not entirely, but the goal is clear.

As for disliking the big changes, well, I can't agree with you on that at all. Again, it wasn't an easy transition, but now that I'm here, I don't want to go back. I want the true
bugs fixed, but not having a search bar seems more like being stuck on old ways of doing things than a real problem. That kind of thing can even lead to puking.

Missing address search option on Nokia 5800

Hi,
Just bought a 1 day licence to see how this app works. I was expecting some features to appear - they didn't.
I read the help and it says to go Options->Address Search but that option is not there. I have never been able to find an option to locate an address.
The maps software is at version 3.01 and the phone's firmare is 2. something - I ran the software updater and there's nothing more recent available to me.
Perhaps I can re-install it? If I remove it, where would I get another copy?

Your manual is outdated.
At the bottom of the screen (within Maps | Maps view) you should see a magnifying glass button. Just press and there is your search option.

Why does FireFox look for "Chrom..........." when I close the left (last) tag and report "can't open ....? Have i missed an option that wold send it to my hom

If I close the last (left) tab to return to my desktop, firefox tries to load google Chrome and reports to me that it can't find the server.
Apparently, I have missed an option in the help area that prevents this. Any ideas?

How can we customize the no of rows in Search options set?

Hi all,
I am using EP6 SP14, and i need to display the news from a folder based on a filter criteria ( like regions, etc) i am using a KM search iview with a query to search the items of the folder and the corresponding search options set limits the no of rows to a min 5 but i need only 3 items to be displayed with the page links to the browse the rest of the news. Can anyone suggest me if there is any way of customizing the no of rows or else i am thinking of using a KM navigation iview and using the corresponding query but strangely the layout doesnt work.....Anything i need to do more to limit the no of items to be displayed?
Help would be greatly appreciated ,

Missing PDF Options in Acrobat Pro 8

For some reason, on some machines in the office "PDF Options" is missing when we try to print to the Adobe PDF 8.0 printer under OS X 10.4.10. Both machines are Intel-based.
Two of the machines in the office have the option, two don't.
We thought it was something specific to these machines. Then yesterday, on a brand new MacBook Pro, we reinstalled a user's license from the DVD and the same thing happened: no PDF Options. This machine had been used for two days. Microsoft Office 2004 installed, Firefox and that's it - otherwise bog standard. Never had an Adobe product on it, never had Acrobat on it. Updated to 8.1.1, no change.
We've tried completely uninstalling, trashing all the Adobe and Acrobat-related items in /Library and ~/Library, same with prefs. We've searched the entire machine for any string that includes 'adobe' or 'acrobat' and trashed them, emptied the trash, restarted, then reinstalled (re-serialising in the process). We've reset the printing system and added the printers back.
We've cleaned the cache files (using AppleJack, a great little utility), repaired permissions, reinstalled the 10.4.10 Combo Updater, DiskWarriored the machine.
We're tearing our hair out, because in our office, this option is vital to the daily work flow.
Is anyone else seeing this? Anyone got a reliable fix?

I "think" that there may be a way to correct this, but it's at your own peril if it doesn't. Then again what have you got to lose? Here is something from another public forum. It's about Acrobat 6.x and 7.x but it sounds like the same issue. If you decide to try this and it works let us know.

I solved this error with Acrobat 7 by deleting the com.adobe.print.AdobePDF7 folder from the user library preferences. It may be missed by those who are deleting preferences because it is not grouped with the com.adobe.acrobat.xxx.plist files.
The equivalent folder for Acrobat 6 is called com.adobe.print.AdobePDF located in the users home library preference folder.

Why does search option in history doesn't work? It does not display any sites I've been to.

I enter history, type a name of a site I've been to in 'search' or 'find' field (I'm using polish version so I don't know the exact name of that field) and it does not find anything. I haven't cleared my history, it's all there when I open 'today', 'yesterday' etc. tabs. Only finding it using search option doesn't work.
It used to work fine now it doesn't. I haven't installed anything.

Make sure that you're not running Firefox in Private Browsing mode.

Contact search options

I would like to know if the next 2.0 update will bring new search options in the address book such as by company name, city, zip, country or using any other fields.
I have over 700 contacts and some times having this ability is simply great. Today I had to stop in the middle of the day to browse my Outlook by company name to find the contact I had to call, which defeats the purpose of having a PDA/smartphone.

This is a user to user forum. You won't get a response from Apple here, nor does anybody here know any answers about future stuff.
With that said, some of the screen shots from the last demo Apple gave for the SDK showed a small magnifying glass on the contacts screen. While it was never demoed, it was noticed in pictures. One can assume it may be added with the 2.0 update.

EA1 - Ability to use Search option and code collapse/Expand option in ...

Noticed the following feature which was Scheduled for Release 1.5 is missing.

This feature could save a lot of time on code reading/review/....

You can use the search on the read only (normal mode) of the PL/SQL Editor. Either through menu or using ctrl F.
The other is still an enhancement and is being tracked.

Search option for 'Recents' in Dialer.

Is there anyway I can have a search option in the recent dialer list for the incoming/outgoing/missed call that I had in recent past, which could be easily searched by typing the name for maybe calling back/messaging or simply checking call details?

This is easy. From the List of Item, open Form Setting. Then change Item Description to be the 1st column.

Sub folder vanished with emails. Emails still can be found with search option but won't display text

A bunch of my subfolders for sorting my email vanished, which was brought to my attention when TB tried to sort my mail and said that the subfolder did not exist. I re-created the subfolders with the same name as before and when I went into the new subfolder I was surprised to see that all the past email were in it. However, when I opened the e-mails the body of the emails were empty. (I even tried highlighting for white text as suggested on line, but nothing)
I used the "search emails "options to try and find them, using the title of the emails as the search parameter ie "Receipt for your PalPay payments" and the search results provided me with the results of all the missing emails with the full text of each e-mail. However, when I went into individual emails (or the open emails as list option) the text was still not there. It must be there somewhere since the search option is finding it.
I tried deleting the Profile (global-messages-db.sqlite) hoping that it would bring the text back but it didn't work. Most of the emails that are blank are of the financial nature and I would really like them back.

in he middle of the search results screen at the top is a show list option. (
hidden in plain sight) click it. in the list. right click the headings and select location. That will not find you mail as such. but it will give the folder the search is finding it in. If that name is what you expect, you have perhaps dragged the folder or folders to another location so they are a sub folder of another unrelated folder.
View Menu (Alt+V) > folders > all to ensure only real physical folders are visible, now you will need to expand each and every folder in the tree to locate your folders.
