Missing 'Sensors' tab in Jdev 11g

Hi,
I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 and I need to create a BAM sensor.
I'm following the tutorial included in this book: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/soa/soasuite/11gthebook.html
on page 391, first line says: "Click on the Sensors tab to start the process of adding a new sensor"
but on my JDeveloper there is no Sensors tab...
Do u have any clue of what is happening?
Thanks in advance
Regards,
Neuquino

Hi
On JDEV 11.1.1.2, we have moved the monitor features into another perspective. So in the BPEL view, select the drop down on the top right and select Monitor Perspective. You will be able to set the sensors there. Also, we have created a feature called Monitor Express in this version that allows you to use out of the box BAM dashboards for your BPEL processes.
You can find the details on http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/bam/collateral/new%20features%20in%20bam%2011gr1ps1.pdf.

  • REST style service - missing in JDEV 11g?!

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a Web service on a PL/SQL Package in JDev 11g
    {right click Package->Publish as Web service}
I do remember that in earlier JDev versions like 10.1.3, we use to have an option to create a REST style web service but I dont see this in the latest JDev 11g (Message Format screen, Step 4 of 10)
Am I missing something in here? Is it not supported now?

  • Compile PL/SQL with JDEV 11g TP4 - Compile button missing ?

    Hi
I have been working through the database development with Jdeveloper tutorial:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/db_dev/obe_%20databasedevmt.htm
this, as name suggests, discusses db development with jdev 11g TP4.
However I seem to have an issue with the section named 'Creating and Debugging PL/SQL Objects in the Database'.
In section 9 of 'creating a pl/sql package' the tutorial talks about a compile for debug button on the code editor. This essentially compiles the package against the DB, however in my Jdev, this button is does not exist. Is this just because this is only a tech preview version or is there some further config I need to do?
    Versions are..
    OS: Vista SP1
    JDEV: 11.1.1.0.0
    DB: 10.2.0.1.0
    Thanks in advance

there are 7-8 tabs in my panel tabbed I want to navigate to second tab from first by clicking button in first tab. the second tab should get
highlighted and user should see all components in second tab
    thanks in advance,

    Hi,
the ShowDetail item has a "Disclosed" property that you can set from Java or through a EL reference to a managed bean method. Once you e.g. set the managed bean method such that the item is set to disclosed you send a PPR request

  • Which version of SQL Dev is included with JDev 11g?

Is there a method to tell which specific version and/or build of SQL Developer is built into JDev 11g? I've searched through the Help->About options and it mentions under the Extensions tab v11.1.1.0.30.50.26 for the SQL Developer Extensions entry, which is really a JDev version #, not a SQL Dev version #. I remember Duncan mentioning SQL Dev was specifically v1.2 or v1.4, but this doesn't seem to be reflected in the JDev about box.
    Cheers,
    CM.

Yes, silly of me, in deed. I didn't pay attention to author. I find this blog interesting for me to keep it on my regular list (that is why I read posts but I don't keep insight to author).
Anyhow, I think that reference to his blog post is useful for other readers of this thread. While Chris missed to link to his own blog, I did it for him :)

  • Error while running HRFacadeClient of JDev 11g Tutorial

    Hi,
I was following the tutorial under Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces
Section 19 says to run application under OC4J,
<strong>19.</strong> Right click the <strong>HRFacadeBean</strong> in the Application Navigator and select <strong>Run</strong> from the context menu to launch the facade bean in the Embedded OC4J sever.
Curently OC4J not available under JDev 11g Production version, so it runs under Web-logic Server which comes with JDeveloper 11g. Please see the log below:

    Hi Heidi,
I tried once again to install a fresh instance of Oracle soa suite 10.1.3.0 and upgraded it to 10.1.3.4 successfully. I did all the JDeveloper 11g installation and configure SOA process all successfully. I can create a connection to OC4J using 12401 RMI port successfully but none of my applications are deployed to server.
This message is repeatedly displaying in messages tab:
Exception returned by remote server: com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIConnectionException: Disconnected: oracle.oc4j.admin.management.shared.SharedModuleType. local class incompatible during deploy ...
The default OC4J RMI port is 23791 but in my installation it is set to 12401 when I checked the Runtime Port option of Oracle Application Server and the connection is fine with this port but applications can not be deployed with this configuration.
I can deploy applications on separate standalone OC4J instance successfully but not able to do it with my SOA application server.
    Any comments will be appreciated.
    Thanks again

  • JDev 11g: Best Practice Multi Field Validation / Reset in a Dialog Control

I'm using JDev 11g and want to do the following (excuse my newbie learning curve):
    1. Ability for the user to have a "dialog" form that they can edit their user information such as name, password, email, etc.
    2. When user clicks OK want the system to validate that password fields are the same (there are two of them).
    3. When user clicks Cancel I want the form to reset and the dialog to close.
Sounds easy right? However, I've seen several ways to implement and none of them seem straight forward and don't appear to work like I would want so instead spending the next day coding want to know if there's an easy solution.
    For # 2:
The examples on the web use a phase listener for multi-form validation which when using a small dialog in a larger arena seems like overkill since the entire view will get my event right? Is there a similar thing for subform or subview?
Another example uses a listener for value change, however that doesn't work to well when trying to validate two fields match.
    For # 3:
A standard OK Cancel dialog does not auto reset a form within it (it leaves the text - even invalid text in the field). Adding my own button for reset doesn't close the form and adding a reset listener doesn't close the form either. Is there a simple way and I'm just overlooking it? Should I use the standard buttons and somehow assign the cancel to reset the form or define my own and somehow close the popup? There's not too much documentation I can find about using Javascript to modify objects such as closing a dialog.
Anyone have the best approach that should be followed with less headache downstream and better portability to other forms with more complex validation? Any examples I missed that shows this working in a dialog?
    Thank you,
    Kris

    Hi,
    I don't understand #2, so ignoring it
#1 You can set the immediate property on the two password fields. In a value change listener you compare the two provided values and if they match, you continue processing. Otherwise you set an error message and call response complete. Note that as much as we like to provide everything declarative, coding is something that we cannot neglect completely in a programming environment.
#3 You can intercept the dialog close event and in this event determine which button was pressed. If it was the cancel button, get the current row from the underlying iterator and call refresh() passing one of the arguments you find when typing "Row." e.g DB refreshWithDBForget.

  • Jdev 11g pre3 Preforms on Windows contra Linux

Have been working a lot with the Jdev 11g, think it is nice and easy to work with.
Except after a little time (or bigger project) it gets really slow, takes like 30sec, when changing a property and tabbing out. (If you look a the memory usage it runs around 2-4 GB, with only Jdev running plus standard Windows stuff)
    Have now been trying on:
XP prod on a Dual Core Pc with 2 GB ram
Win 2003 Server – server with 8 gb ram
Now I tried to work a little with it on a Kubuntu (running on a virtual Pc 2007 (1 GB ram), and here it seem to a much small issue with the slowdown and with the memory usage.
Should there be a different between running Jdev 11g on a Window or Linux PC?
Have anyone tried to work a longer period on a Linux PC with JDev?

    Hi,
note that the IDE performance issue is mentioned in the release notes of JDeveloper 11. It also mentions that this is an area that developers are looking at in a release version TP3. Performance should not vary too much between OS.

  • Problems with JDev 11g using JBOSS and ANT

    Hi,
I'm trying to migrate to JDev 11g with JBoss ( version 7.X ) as the AppServer
With JDev 10g all works fine with JBoss, even the Remote Debug, all OK
here is the problems I have :
    1) ANT
JDev doesn't save my ANT settings
every time I launch ANT : Run Ant Target - I must set the Advance settings
JDev 10g I only need to do that once, the settings are saved but not in the 11g, why ?
    2) persistence
I get this error when deploying to JBoss
    16:34:50,967 INFO [org.jboss.as.server] (HttpManagementService-threads - 1) JBA
S015870: Deploy of deployment "prod_v0.0.1_iDigital.menu.ear" was rolled back wi

    nit.\"prod_v0.0.1_iDigital.menu.ear#InfraModel\"jboss.naming.context.java.jdbc.s
    tdDS]"]}
it seems that is something related to dependencies not well configured during build stage of the EAR, but with 10g works fine
BTW, I can't run my project with WebLogic either, gives this error :

I can't say many about the ant stuff, but have you tried to put the parameters in a property file and use this to get the parameters to ant?
The reason you can't run the application on WLS is that you have not installed the adf runtime on your wls. The error 'application.xml: [Extension-Name: adf.oracle.domain, exact-match: false].' points to this.

  • Need BPEL Designer to integrate with jDEV 11g

    I am using jDeveloper 11g:
    Oracle JDeveloper 11g 11.1.1.0.0
    Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.0.0
I have BPEL Process manager 10.1.3.1 but it did not come bundled with BPEL Designer. I am unable to use jDev 11g as the designer for BPEL Process Manager. I tried to install this extension: Update for the Oracle BPEL Designer and related Integration Tier components. Build:
PCBPEL_MAIN_GENERIC_070328.0800. But the install errors out:

Warning: Classpath entry C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\lib\xmlparserv2.jar not found.

    oracle.bpm.rules
Warning: Classpath entry C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\lib\java\api\jaxb-api.jar not found.
    and so on.
How do I go about sucessfully loading BPEL Designer on jDEV 11g?
    Please provide your input. Thanks.

    Hi,
as read in this thread : Re: Always fail to deploy to server when (Create a Simple EJB Session Bean )
    >
This is a known JDeveloper 11g bug. If you look into the packaged EAR file, JDeveloper inserts some entries into the weblogic-application.xml file to register some listeners to perform some internal tasks it needs to deal with.
The issue is that these classes are part of the ADF runtime and installed as part of the provided ADF domain. They are not provided as part of a standard WLS installation. Thus when you deploy a JDeveloper 11g packaged application to a non ADF augmented WLS 10.3 instance, you get a Classloading error on deployment because the specific listener-classes are not available.
The relevant bug # for this is:
    BUG#7487416
EAR FILE PACKAGING SETS FIXED DEPENDENCY ON
    JPSAPPLICATIONLIFECYCLELISTENER
I believe a fix for this will be provided in the first patchset for JDeveloper 11g.
In the meantime, if you want to workaround it, extract the weblogic-application.xml file from the EAR file, manually remove the listener entries, put the modified file back into the EAR file and then deploy it.

But you should now get another problem, like some of us on this forum : ADFLogger will be missing. If so, please report to this thread for helping us : Standalone WLS server instance deployment failure - missing ADFLogger

  • Jdev 11g Production - Unable to edit EO/ VOs from Application Navigator

I created an ADF Model project. In this project I created ADF's 'Business Components from Tables' using the wizard. I went through the wizard and created EO, VO, AM and business diagram. After that, I was able to execute the AM (right-click and Run), but when I tried to open the EO or VO to edit properties (Right-click and Open), I was unable to do so.
I have created a word document with snapshots of the steps followed and the error I got. Please find it here - http://files.oraclecorp.com/content/AllPublic/SharedFolders/EBS%20Integrations%20Shared-Public/Errors_ADF_BC.doc
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I suspect a usual useful drive-by-answer from dvohra.
user8028667, under JDev 11g you're right, it should be right click > Open (entity name). This should open the Entity Object document window.
Unfortunately the link you've provided appears to be internal to Oracle and can't be viewed by the vast majority of readers on this external Oracle forum. I'm guessing you're an Oracle employee because of the link you supplied. The Oracle JDev PMs normally point Oracle employees to post on internal forums, not external customer forums.
