Missing SM BIOS Service Driver?

Seem to be missing the SM BIOS service driver...
I thought it was part of the chipset driver but installing it didn't resolve it. I've run the Update utility and that does't pick out the driver for it either.
Any ideas guys?

Yea, I've just disabled it in the Device Manager.
And sure enough I do actually have a copy of True Image lying around somewhere that i'll dust of and use.

You have probably not included the coherence-commandpattern-cache-config.xml configuration file in you cluster configuration. Depending on which version of Coherence you have and which version of the Incubator you are using the way you include the file is different.
Using Coherence 3.7 and the latest Incubator release the top of your cache configuration file on the cluster need to look a bit like this
    <cache-config
         xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/coherence/coherence-cache-config"
         xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
        xmlns:element="class://com.oracle.coherence.environment.extensible.namespaces.XmlElementProcessingNamespaceContentHandler"
element:introduce-cache-config="coherence-commandpattern-cache-config.xml">Read the Command Pattern documentation or look at the examples from the Incubator site for the version you are using.

  • 1TB is missing from my hard drive. Is there a way to get them back without wiping my drive and reformatting everything?

I installed Windows 8 on my 3TB Fusion Drive, now about 1TB is missing from my hard drive. Is there a way to get them back without wiping my drive and reformatting everything?

No, I assigned 100GB to the Bootcamp partition. So my Macintosh HD should be still about 3TB but it only shows 2.2 TB. And when I try to put the Bootcamp partition back, it also shows that I would have about 2.3 TB combined. So almost a TB has just disappeared. It doesn't show up anywhere.
Also when I installed Windows 8 I saw about 800GB (which is most certainly my missing space) show up as Free space. Now my question would be If it is possible to get them back without wiping the whole drive.

  • T43 Hard drive missing in bios

    Hi Everyone,
I got an "Operating system not found" error after restarting my thinkpad T43 laptop.
I checked the bios startup and hard drive was missing. so removed my hard drive and connected to desktop and was able to get all the files. Looks like my hard disk is fine.
I tried resetting the CMOS battery as well - didn't solve the problem.
Is there anything wrong with the motherboard?
What else do I need to check before making sure that motherboard is faulty?
    Thanks in advance..
    Raj

Three things I can think of:
    a) HD disabled in BIOS (easy to check)
    b) HD not sitting right in the caddy and/or slot
    c) Defective/dirty/??? connector on the board
Check it out point by point and let us know...good luck.
    Cheers,

  • RAID is not an option/not available/missing in BIOS Storage Options?? HP Envy 700-047c

Hello - I have an HP Envy 700-047c. It came with a 2 TB HD. I put in another 2 TB HD same model/type. The system in the BIOS and Windows 8 sees the new drive. However, when I boot and go into F10 BIOS/HP Setup utility, go to Storage menu, select Storage Options, my only option is SATA Emulation and the only 2 select options it shows are AHCI and IDE. This is where I should see RAID option - it is not there.
I tried changing SATA ports on the motherboard - no help.
I tried disabling Secure Boot and UEFI and chose Legacy - no help.
I updated to latest BIOS for this PC - no help.
I installed Intel Rapid Storage Technology software and can see the 2 drives within Windows but there is no create option on the Status page like there should be (because you need to enable RAID in the BIOS which the option is missing).
I looked on the motherboard and don't see any jumpers that are labeled RAID (ie. some physical trip).
I called Intel and they confirmed the Intel chipset I have is RAID capable but to contact HP to see if they turned off. I contacted HP and twice they said they are not trained in RAID and do not support it. I contacted the local Microcenter tech support and they found a link on this website talking about how to go to the area I'm in - but the RAID option is not there.
Does anyone know how to get RAID enabled on this HP 700-047c in the BIOS/Setup utility? Help!

UPDATE BY ORIGINAL POSTER TO BELOW - The below is not accurate about RAID being disabled on "All" HP home line computers per research from Big_Dave (Thanks!) - It is what I was told by the HP Escalation Team Friday however - not just my MB but all - which we are seeing is not correct per the customizable Envy model in the following post. It may just be certain models or just my current model's MB...?? I struck thru some of the detail, but leaving it mostly intact so others can see the misinformation I was given.
Thanks for passing along. Below is what I found out about how RAID is disabled by HP now.
I also had an email going back and forth with HP support and they sent to HP Escalation team who I ended up talking with yesterday who researched it for a day and found out that HP has disabled RAID on the motherboard for all of their home PC line! As we were thinking above. Only servers can do RAID now is the word.  Hard to believe they'd do that. The rep said he believed it had to do with people calling HP when they lost data due to setting up using RAID 0 and thinking that protected them (all it does is make a big disk, no redundancy like RAID 1).
To me that is no reason to turn off a feature of the Intel chipset. They also don't make this clear to any HP employee as no one I've talked to (3 now along with chat and email) knew that HP is crippling the capabilities of the MB and chipset. I even have a several year old HP Pavilion that has RAID enabled on it under my desk and has saved me twice from disk failure (running RAID 1 mirroring).
I'm pretty disappointed with HP decision to do this and that it's poorly recorded (in fact not recorded at all)  it so that I wasted hours upon days trying to figure it out with tech support people. If HP wants to remove a much needed service such as RAID it should be mandatory for them to disclaim that right in the Specfications sheet. RAID IS DISABLED AND CANNOT BE TURNED ON ON ANY HP HOME CONSUMER COMPUTER.
Note: I even called AMI (American Megatrend, Inc.) with HP on the line who said they sold the MB to HP fully capable of RAID which is what led the escalation rep to research to whomever he talked to and found out HP is disabling it out the door to their unaware consumers.
I also asked if HP tech team disabled it, would they be willing to send me a BIOS flash to re-enable it - ie. make that an option for those who are knowledgeable about RAID and can setup. The response was they probably won't. I pressed a little but didn't get anywhere - seems like a reasonable request to me/option to keep people happy.
Luckily I'm within my return window and will be taking this computer back. Sad considering how much time I've put into it thinking I had a computer capable to do what I need.
Anyway - please help spread the word so HP can get this into their knowledge DB and boards that RAID is GONE - removed purposefully by HP.

I just installed Labview 8.5.1 and thereby got rid of a problem where the Import Web Service Wizard hung.

Hi every1, i just got my MSI 945GCM7-F last week, was trying to enable the RAID function in BIOS to use the Intel Matrix Storage Manager but the RAID function is missing in the BIOS.
According to the manual, to enable RAID in BIOS should be under

But my BIOS do not have the RAID Mode and AHCI Devices Group option, under On Chip ATA Devices only have On-Chip IDE controller and PCI IDE BusMaster.
i did try and flash my BIOS using th liveupdates but the BIOS still remaind the same. Kindy advice and thanks alot guys!

the following drivers are availabe for this board in particular.
Intel ICH7R/ICH8R SATA RAID Driver (For floppy driver)
Intel IAA RAID Edition for ICH7R
that should then mean that this board has ICH7R and supports raid. please could you explain
Your conclusion is not quite correct as it ignores the fact that there are two premises:
    Quote
    Intel® ICH7/ICH7R Chipset
This piece of information mentions two different chipsets:
    1. The Intel ICH7 Chipset
    2. The Intel ICH7R Chipset
    Now look at the following:
    Quote
    - Serial ATA RAID 0/1/0+1 for ICH7R.
    - Integrated AHCI controller for ICH7R.
It tells you that only the ICH7R Chipset features SATA RAID and SATA AHCI Modes.
The board comes in two different variants (which differ only in the chipset used (ICH7 vs. ICH7R).  Consequently, the the fact that MSI offers AHCI/RAID Drivers in the download section does not rule out the fact that the board variant you have could have an ICH7 Chipset which does not support AHCI or RAID Operation.
Please pay attention to the following sign which appears right next to the specs on the product page:
That said, let's look at this in more detail:
    Quote
i had it before firmware upgrade.
Are you absolutely sure you are remembering it right?  Are you sure that a BIOS Update changed this or is it possible that you are referring to your other board which could have been the ICH7R Variant?
    Quote
and the previous board also had the option.
What BIOS Version did you use before the BIOS Update?
Which BIOS Version are you using now?
How was the BIOS Updated and why?
What is the serial number of your mainboard(s)?

  • [W520] Intel AMT missing in BIOS configuration

    Hello everyone,
I've been trying to get the Intel Active Management working, but I'm running into some problems trying to enable it.
According to Intel, my CPU supports vPro (http://ark.intel.com/products/50067/Intel-Core-i7-2720QM-Processor-%286M-Cache-2_20-GHz%29) and I can successfully use all the vPro features, except for Intel AMT. Here are my system specifications:
    http://i41.tinypic.com/jgs18p.png
My BIOS does have the Intel Management Extensions and I've updated both my BIOS/UEFI and the ME to the latest firmware (1.35 and 7.1.30.1142, respectively). This is the output from MEInfoWin.exe:
    http://i41.tinypic.com/2s8s31v.png
The weird thing is that I can access the AMT management interface at http://localhost:16992, but all that is shown is this:
    http://i39.tinypic.com/358ny3k.png
The Intel AMT diagnostics tool shows that AMT is supported, but disabled. Here are the results from the tool:
    http://ompldr.org/vY2QyYQ/Results.nfo
Does anyone know why this happens? Does my W520 need to be serviced?
    Thanks in advance!

    @christopherlang
Agreed. I ordered with only one hard drive since I already had a spare only to find out that my motherboard doesn't support RAID.
After some searching a little bit, it seems that Lenovo will include AMT only when configured with an Intel wireless card, which I didn't order since my broken W510 has one. They should really make clear which features are included and which aren't. Honestly, I can't believe they would take the time and effort to make 8 different motherboards just to remove features .
Same as you, other than that, I really like this laptop.

  • RAID option missing in BIOS

I am working with one each: the 865PE and the 865G. I have two 120GB Seagate SATA drives attached to the Intel controller. No VIA controller on-board. I am attempting to set up RAID 1 (mirrored), but I'm not able to activate the Intell controller, the option "CONFIGURE S-ATA as RAID" option is not available as shown in the manuals. Both drives do register in BIOS during POST sequence, but I can't figure out how to turn on the RAID controller so I can press CTRL-I and configure the RAID. I have installed the latest BIOS on each board.
Do these boards always have the RAID option, or is it truely "optional" and if so...what is the identifier on the box the says this board has the RAID option on board?
    The white stickers show:
    865PE:
    P4-800, 865PE, ICH5,6ch S/W Audio, (DB2, Round, SATA*1, SATA Power*1) cable
    865G:
    p4-800, 865
    g, ICH5,6ch S/W Audio, (DB2, Round , SATA*1, SATA Power*1) cable

None of the "G" boards have this option.  Some of the newer Socket 775 boards do (ICH6R).
Thanks Danny. After a little more digging I found what I was looking for. The answer (for me) was in the white tag I semi-quoted earlier. I left of what turned out to be the important part. The 865PE should've read 865PE Neo2-PLS, where P seems to stand for Prescott, L for 10/100 LAN (F for Gigabit LAN), S for SATA, and the missing letter "R" for ... yes you guessed it... RAID. Oh, and the other letter is I for IEEE1394 (Firewire).
The board I need (and have now ordered) is the 865PE Neo2-PFISR
Again, thanks.    Hope this helps someone else.

  • Missing  apple mobile device driver

I have a new Itouch that I am able to sync on my laptop but not on my desktop. When I plug the Itouch into the USB porton my desktop, it is recognized as a camera. I have installed and uninstalled the latest version of Itunes several times with no results. It appears that the only difference in the installation of Itunes between the laptop and the desktop is that it appears that I am missing the apple mobile device driver (verified by going through the apple doc #306640)on my desktop. Running Xp with service pack 2 on both computers. Why isn't this component being loaded into my desktop and where can I obtain it? Thanks.

Try uninstalling the following items in order:
Apple mobile device (might not be installed)
    Apple software update
    iTunes
    Quicktime
    Now restart computer.
Now download itunes743setup and save it to your desktop.
Disable any anti-virus and internet security.
    Now install itunes.
If this does not work, then there is something blocking the apple mobile device from installing.
this article from the apple support website will help turn everything off except what the computer needs. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302538
    Uninstall the items previously mentioned.
    Restart the computer again.
    Then install itunes again.
The apple mobile device driver is installed with itunes.
    Hope this helps.

  • Missing files on HFS drive in Boot Camp 3.0

I have an external drive formatted with HFS. When I look at the contents of that drive while in Windows XP in Boot Camp 3.0 I noticed that some of the files are missing. If I log back into Snow Leopard the files are still there. I have tried deleting the "missing" file and copying it back, but the same problem persists or strangely another file in the same folder will go missing when I look for it in Boot Camp. Is there a bug in the HFS driver for Boot Camp or is there some sort of weird behavior of HFS I don't know about? This isn't a one off thing either, this is happening in multiple folders on the drive.
    Thanks.

I have begun to experience a similar issue on an external hard drive. The drive has 3 partitions (2 Journaled, 1 NTFS). I access the HFS/journaled partitions from a Boot Camp installation (slipstreamed Windows XP SP2).
Certain files do not appear in the Windows Explorer, though they do appear in Mac OS Finder. Same as <ditogi>, I copied and replaced, renamed and so on - the content is apparently unharmed. I also adjusted the permissions. Nothing seems to work. Additionally, folders also seem to be missing now.
The only recent changes to the system were:
    Mac OS: Firefox 3.6.2
Windows: GlovePIE; PPJoy; Tamamy Ikesu's DUALSHOCK3 HID Minidriver.
Any pointers as to whether this is a Mac OS or Windows issue - mass storage driver, security, or services related would be helpful.

  • Several errors: missing MSVCR80.dll, "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start", Error 7

I have been trying all morning to re-install iTunes, but continually receive the following errors:
"Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
"iTunes was not installed correctly,  Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)"
"iTunesHelper.exe - System Error: The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
I have found a solution on iTunes support for the Error 7 message and followed the instructions, but the problem was not resolved.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times (I am doing all of this through the administrator sign on on my Windows 7 PC), and still receive these errors.  I have purchased a registry cleaning tool to try to fix the .dll error and it was not resolved.  I can't even get iTunes to install properly on my computer and have lost all use of the program.  I am at a loss as to what to do!!  Can anyone help!!

    Hi greenapple74,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has steps you can take for the errors you're seeing:
