Missing software?

I went to find my AirPort Management Utility, but only found the Admin Utility and the Setup Assistant.
Spotlight can't find it either.
So I loaded up the Airport Extreme disk, which says that it won't install because I've already got an up-to-date version installed.
I searched the Support Downloads for this little item, but it's not there.
Anyone care to point me in the right direction?

  • GarageBand: missing software instruments & loops won't download

    Hi,
Recently I've bought a 15' MacBook Pro with OS X version 10.8.3 installed on it(and I've updated it to version 10.8.4) and tried to download [missing software
instruments and loops] for GarageBand, but that update for the additional GarageBand contents couldn't be found on App Store's update page even after trying
several times. Does anybody have a solution or similar experience? Answers would be greatly appreciated!

I recently had the same problem when I upgraded to Garageband '11.  There are many posts and answers about this issue on the forum, but the one that worked for me was also the simplest solution.  When you get to the Updates window on the App Store and it says it doesn't find any updates, hit ⌘-R to reload.  When I did that, the additional instruments and loops download appeared in the Updates window and I was able to download them.
If that doesn't work for you, search this forum.  There are many more possible solutions.  Good luck!

  • Missing Software and version #

Okay, how would you all handle this:
In ZEN 7, we had JUST MSI And add/remove programs setup for software inventory. It actually did pretty good (example, it found a bunch of ESRI ArcGIS stuff).
It would show ALL the SDK (ie, there's an SDK for C++, one for VB, etc.)
It would also show the complete version and build number (ie: 9.2.134.21)
Now we are using ZAM 7.5 (in addition to ZEN, but eventually will cutover to ZCM)
Anyway, ZAM 7.5 seems even more limited in its software inventory.
It doesn't find any of the SDK's (I've had to submit multiple fingerprint wizards in the past for missing software).
It also doesn't report build numbers, just versions like 9.2
Sooo, what's the best way to handle this?
The missing stuff I'm either going to have to add more fingerprints (very time consuming as I have to go visit the PC's with the software to run the utility) or add local product (in which case I've gotta get the people to send me the .exe and whatnot). Either way, stinks, IMO.
And how should I handle the missing version information? It's in the windows registry at the least, but I'm not sure about the actual VBR info in the file. Do I submit an SR, enhancement request, run the wizard?
Version info is very important for us because it signifies the product patch levels (ie, it doesn't say like: Hi I'm ArcView 9.2 SP3, but rather, I'm 9.2.somethingsomethingsomethng)

Recognition in ZAM - and ZCM - has been, over time, focused more towards business applications than development applications. In that environment, recognition out to the build number is viewed as less relevant; accordingly, most fingerprints tend to report at the "N.N" or "N.N.N" level. The recognition technology is quite capable of reporting out to "N.N.N.N" and indeed that level of granularity is utilized when requested and appropriate. (We pickup the build from the VRB.) Further, when specified, "promotion" fingerprints will automatically discover versions with new build numbers in them and create new products on-the-fly. This type of fingerprint must, however, be engineered by Novell.
Generally, the recognition team has placed less emphasis on SDKs. We tend to make decisions towards products that will have impact on the majority of customers. But, as you've mentioned, we respond to requests for signatures.
From the software local products perspective, if you are gathering "software file" (the ZAM name) or "file scan" (ZCM) data, you shouldn't need to have files sent to you to create a local product. In ZAM 7.5 you can create a local product from the Software Files report in the web console fairly efficiently. It works even better in the ZENworks Control Center of ZCM 10. On a project earlier this year, at a customer site where there is a lot of internal application development and a strong commitment to populating the VRB on every update, we created over 150 local products - with different product names and versions - in about a minute.

  • NSU v1.4.14en- missing software???

Fed up by nokia tech support who don`t get back to me after 12 (!) emails and phonecalls!
Is there a way to get a complete list over files in NSU? And can anyone e-mail me a list of THEIR (working!) NSU so I can compare???
Upon startup of NSU all I get is: "MISSING SOFTWARE, critical software components are missing. please reinstall"
(apparently a "common" problem with Vista home premium"
And I've tried uninstalling EVERYTHING from nokia, re-installing with firewall off, re-installing NSU with wire-less router off(and hence ALL local and external networks off), putting those annoying little files from "Nokia Software Update FAQ >>" into the approved program list for my firewall, making sure I don't have two NSU's running, running it in XP compatible mode, running the .exe files in XP compatible mode and in administrator modus, hitting my computer, sacrificing a goat to the PC-gods etc! What am I missing???
    What software am I missing???
Maybe it will run if I install it in another language???
I'll try Norwegian but PLEASE!!! help me out!!!
I want FW v20 SOOOOO badly!
Help (that actually works) will be rewarded with eternal gratitude and praise!!!

OK here's the guide NOKIA gave me. I had already tried it 646 times, BUT now it's a new version of PC suite in the link below! Maybe that would solve the problem????
    sadly no....
    Maybe it helps others though...
"Thank you for emailing Nokia Care.
With regard to your email, I suggest that you install Nokia PC Suite prior to using Nokia Software Updater as this would ensure all necessary driver are correctly installed.
Please ensure that you have administrator access to your computer, and you should not be on a secured server e.g. office server.
Kindly refer to the following steps:
    1. If you are connected via cable, please unplug the cable from the computer then mobile phone.
    2. Remove all Nokia software from your computer. Select the "Start" button on your computer, then go to "Control Panel". Inside the "Control Panel", click on "Classic View" and then please double click "Programs and Features" and scroll down to Nokia PC Suite and select "Uninstall/Change" to uninstall it. Remove all Nokia software that come up in the "Programs and Features" list.
    3. Restart your computer. When the computer has started up, disable all firewalls and antivirus.
    4. Log on to http://europe.nokia.com/A4144903. Click download and then proceed to "Save" (not "Run") the PC Suite file to your "Desktop".
    5. Upon completion of downloading PC Suite, you can click on "Run" to begin installation.
    6. Once installation is complete, "Welcome to Get Connected wizard" window would prompt. Select you connection type - cable connection.
    7. Please only plug in the cable when the wizard prompts you to do so.
Once you have established a connection between your phone and PC, kindly proceed to use "Update phone software" on Nokia PC Suite."
NB! THE NEW VERSION OF PCSUITE KEPT CRASHING TO ME!
Load of rubbish isn't it? NOKIA has produced a phone with technology exceeding your wildest dream but cannot make a software program to run with the latest PC OS from MS, the biggest and most used OS!
Hope it helps some of you...

    Critical software components are missing.
    Please reinstall.
I am running Windows Vista 32bit.
I have uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled several times.
There are no errors in the Windows EventLog and I cannot see an error log file.
I have noticed that nsl_host_process.exe does not start.
    PC Suite runs perfectly.

You will also get this if the Windows internet connection sharing is switched on, you should disable ICS on your computer from the network connections.

  • Missing Software Code

I'm not able to install CS5 Update version on new PC.
Available are SWCode and Activation Code for Phototoshop 7.
From CS3 only the activvation Code is stil avalable, Software had been stored  on the former PC now no more available.
From CS5 both, SW and activation Code are available.
How can I install CS5 on the new system.
    Thank you

  • Missing SOftware Restore DVD's

    Hello.
I have a white MacBook that I bought last year (March 2008), and I lost the restores DVD's that came with the computer.
I read many forum post and it seems there's no way to get those DVD's from Apple (I don't have Apple Care).
    My question is:
    What's inside those DVD's?
If I buy Mac OS X v10.5.6 Leopard and iLife 09, do I need any additional software that is inside those DVD's?
I have a friend that has the DVD's, is possible to make a backup copy? How can make it?
    Thank you.

Even if you don't have AppleCare, you can call up Apple and they'll send you replacement discs for a nominal fee. This is far less expensive than a retail copy of Leopard+iLife.
I believe buying a retail copy of Leopard+iLife would be enough, but I'm not completely certain. I do know that you wouldn't get a copy of the Apple Hardware Test, but I'm not sure what else would be missing.
    You can't use a friend's discs as the restore DVD's are machine-specific.

  • New Laptop Missing Software

Today I  bought this laptop, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-inspiron-15-6-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i7-8gb-memory-1tb-hard... , and I noticed after spending hours transferring old files onto it that it was missing the Dragon Assistant 3.0 software. Is there any way that I can get this software without having to exchange the computer? Thanks

    Hello saulalcala,
Having the Dragon Assistant 3.0 software is pretty awesome for some people, and for others it's essential to using their computer. I'm sorry to hear that it may not have had it pre-installed as suggested in the specifications. Unfortunately, we do not have access to this specific program.
With that said, I would like to look into what other options we may have for you. I am sending you a private message to look into these options. You may check your private messages by signing into the forum and clicking the envelope icon in the top right corner of the page.

  • Missing Software Featu

I recently installed the most up-to-date software for my SB Audigy 2ZS card and have encountered a problem. Some of the features like speaker calibration and accessing features like EAX are missing. I did download and install ALL of the available and appropriate software on the Creative site. I did use the Autoupdate also.
I do have some features: Creative CD Burner Update, Creative Media Source, Registration Shortcuts and Creative System Information. The Media Source has an Audio Converter and Player, remote control settings and the Creative Media Source Organizer. That's it. Can anyoneone tell me where the other features went.
    Heruns

Try usuing Creative Autoupdate, this should solve your problems.

  • QuickTime says "missing software"

My QuickTime doesn't want to play some files. It handles some just fine, ones which I've had for a while, but when I try to play more recent files, it says: "QuickTime requires additional software to playback this media." I tried reinstalling as well as re-downloading and installing QuickTime, but it didn't help. The error message said I might be able to find the software from the QuickTime Components page, but everything I could find was for Mac (unless I missed something.) The files aren't bad either, as my brother's computer (a mac) plays them just fine.
I have the most current version, too. If anyone knows what could be causing this, I would greatly appreciate the help.
    Thanks.

How would we know if you downgraded your system?
    Please focus here.
It doesn't matter much that you created the file. It matters what codec you used. Right click on it and get the properties of the file.
From your description I would guess you created a mpeg2 file. The clip will not play correctly in FCP without the audio and video being demuxed. Many use MPEG Streamclip for that purpose.

  • Missing Software Instrument after Leo Install

    Just a quick prelude...
While updating from Tiger to Leo with Archive and Install, the install crapped out on a bad printer driver (some kind of error about a Lexmark printer drivee and then restarted).
Well because of the error, I could not do anything but a clean install because the previous install had already gotten to the point of creating the Previous Systems folder.
So, I install Leo and start the ARDUOUS task of reinstalling my software. I start my iLive 08 install from the DVD (since Leo does not come with iLife), and installed Jam Packs 1 through 6, and everything seemed to have go OK. UNTIL, I started up Garageband and a number of software instruments are now grayed out. And they all seem to be Sftw instrument that have been there since GB1.
i.e. In the track Info panel, under the Sftw inst button, if I select "Garageband", the vast majority of the instrument are grayed out: ALL the Guitars, Synth Textures & Woodwinds are grayed, and maybe only a couple instruments available (BLACK) in the other categories.
Since these BASE instrument did not get installed, I can only assume that, A) they are not included in iLife '08, or B) something is going hinky in the install.
I have tried the install twice, and they is zero change in the status of the base instruments.
Can anyone help me getting this base instrument reinstalled.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
FYI - I had iLife 08 installed in Tiger and all the instruments were there. I have searched the entire drive with Spotlight and EasyFind and the missing sftw instr are not anywhere on the drive, not even in the Previous Systems folder. And, yes I have checked the Garageband folders in both the system Library and the old and new user library.

    Thanks.
Maybe it was too late in the morning, or maybe it was because I was up for 40 hrs dealing with all the complications that occur when an upgrade install craps out on you.... whatever the reason, I could not see the custom install on 4 different re-installs of iLife '08.. UNTIL... you said "do a custom install"!
I swear, I was so frustrated because I could not find the custom install, and I was sure there should be one!..
Oh, well. Guess I just needed some sleep to clear up the goggles...
Still missing a few Sftw instruments though, and I can't seem to figure out where they came from initially. i.e. Guitos (a big bongo often used in latin bands). I used the have it, have song tracks set to use it, but now it is gone from the sfwr inst list completely. I checked the docs for each jam pack, and I can't find it listed either - maybe that goggle thing again.
Have you heard of this instr, and if so, do you know which jam pack it came from?
Well, back to fixing the 400 other items that screwed up when the upgrade failed. At least I got FCS2 reinstalled without too many issues, except NONE of the APPLE templates are showing up in DVDSP, although ALL my custom templates are listed just fine.
    Curiouser and curiouser...
    Thanks again.

  • Missing software after Snow Leopard upgrade

My neighbor has recently installed Snow Leopard on her MacBook. She is a dial-up customer to her ISP and prior to the upgrade there appeared on her desktop a modem dial up "status" box that indicated her connectivity. It has disappeared and of course the big question mark shows up in her dock. I want to offer my help, but am not certain where to start. I showed her how to connect via system preferences and network, but not certain how I can create a shortcut or if there is a need for specific software from her ISP. Sounds like a basic Mac question and I hope there is help. Thanks

The "statue" box showed the normal send and receive bars. It was just there, no drop down or menu. It appeared on top of the desktop. I looked in preferences for another way but may have missed it. The question mark in dock shows up whenever the system cannot find the executable file it needs to run. I did a search in Finder using the name of her ISP, but nothing showed up. I may need to look elsewhere or call the help desk of her ISP. She is connected. Her modem works fine, but you must get the process started via the System Preferences. If you have a hint or clue where to look I am open to suggestions. Thanks again.

  • Missing software/hardware/serial number.

    Hey there.
I have a treo 750 AT&T branded that i got shipped over from the states when the came out and were still unavailable in Australia where i live.
Id love to be able to update it with the 2.25 but the AT&T one i downloaded says it only works with an updater with a service.
Should i be using an unbranded update or am i missing something.
Ironically as well when i hard reset my phone when i got it the software, hardware and serial number were erased in the start/system/about/phone.
Is there anyway to get them back so i can try to get a legit download that will work because this having the time messed up and unable to DST it is making feel like hitting something (probably the phone) with a hammer.
    Any help would be appreatiated.
    Cheers
Post relates to: Treo 750 (AT&T)

Ok. At this point I tell you, you have the update. Next thing to try is a hard reset of the device. Right now something is wrong with it you should have on that device a remote desktop in the start menu or in the programs. If it is not there we need to see if we can get the device back working correctly. Now this is up to you if you don't mine not seeing the software/hardware/or serial number and not having the remote desktop you do not need to hard reset.
to hard reset go here http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=887
If you have any questions post back.
