Missing songs when I use shuffle

On the main menu, when "shuffle songs" is highlighted, it shows how many songs are on the iPod (I have 5836 songs on there right now). when I actually click on "shuffle songs", it starts to play 1 of 5412. the numbers are off by about 400 songs. I have no videos, games, pictures, or podcasts on my iPod...just music. I've tried restoring it, but I still have the same problem. what should I do? has anyone else had this issue? *anyone's help is much appreciated!!*

Additional Audio Controls
To display additional controls, tap the album artwork on the Now Playing screen.
The repeat, Genius, and shuffle controls appear along with the scrubber bar. You can see elapsed time, remaining time, and the song number. The song’s lyrics also appear, if you’ve added them to the song in iTunes.
Use the scrubber bar to skip to any point along the timeline. You can adjust the scrub rate from high-speed to fine by sliding your finger down as you drag the playhead along the scrubber bar.

After I log on to facebook in the upper right hand corner of facebook my Home, Profile and account feature is missing only when I use Firefox if I use MSN it doesn't do this what's going on?

"manually manage music..." missing songs when moving multiple albums at once

Since updating to iTunes 10.6.1.7, when adding songs to my iPhone (iPhone 4, iOS 5.1) it does not fully copy every track/song.
I have it set to "manually manage music and videos" ...when I am moving multiple albums to the thing at once, the earlier albums only copy the songs started before I select the next album. Consequently, I find that I only have partial albums for almost everything. I suppose I could be patient and wait for each album to download before selecting another album, but this used to work before and took a lot less time. (I would drag multiple albums into my iPhone and it would queue up all of the tracks(songs) and correctly download asynchronously.)
Is this a known bug or is there something I am doing wrong? (As always, I did some searching for answers but came up empty on this one...)

The order iTunes is showing the tracks can be changed. Select the album column heading to get tracks list in album order. Normally within an album the tracks will list in track order when viewing this way.

RH10 Missing TOC when viewed using IE11

I have generated webhelp using RH10. The webhelp works fine with both Firefox and Chrome but when I display the webhelp from my local machine using IE11 the TOC is missing.

I also notice that the index is missing as well.

RH10 webhelp in IE11 does not work and is a known bug that has been reported to Adobe.
If you run the developer tools in IE11 (F12 key), select the Emulation Tab and change Document Mode from Edge (default) to 10, you will find your webhelp displays correctly.
This is something that MS has introduced in IE11. However, no one has yet suggested a way to make this setting "stick" once the developer tools are closed.
Report this issue as a bug to Adobe - the more users report it, the earlier Adobe may start working on a fix.
There is another work around, forcing IE11 to open the site in an earlier version emulation mode, but apparently this causes problems for users of IE whose version is not the same as the forced mode.

Missing songs when transferring from old to new laptop

I have just moved my songs from old to new laptop. Unfortuantely it has not copied all of them over, when I try to play in itunes it asks me to locate them. I have checked what has copied over and it has definately left them off, problem is it's left off quite a lot. Was there something that I should have done on the old laptop before copying them to an external device?

To do that, you need to go to "/Applications/System Preferences" then go to the "Accounts" prefpane, then click on the user you want to delete, then click on the minus button in the bottom left corner of the window, but make sure you are logged in as the good user to do this and that the good user is an administrator.

Automatic Play of Song When Importing Using Double Click

In previous versions of iTunes, I was able to double click a mp3 file on my desktop, have it copied into my iTunes library, and play automatically. Now, in iTunes 8, the file copies but does not play automatically. Is there a way to re-enable this feature? It is really frustrating because sometimes when I copy the file into the library, it doesn't get selected and I have to look around for it in order to play it. Thanks!

Your tracks have track numbers I hope? If so clicking on header of the Album column until it reads *Album by Artist* should sort you out...

Missing songs when I try to transfer to new computer

Hi,
I am trying to help my father move his iTunes music library from his old windows machine to his new iMac. I have tried the following:
1.    Tried to find my iTunes music library. And copied that to a hard drive and moved it to the mac and did an import to the mac. I found very few songs (1800) in the mac.
2.     Tried to select all the 3600 songs from my iTunes library, copy them into an external drive, but only these 1800 songs moved.
3.     I went through a couple discussion forums and tried the following based on their advice.:
iTunes > File > Library > consolidate library
I tried steps 1 & 2 again. I still have the same problem. I Would really appreciate it if someone can help me resolve this quickly as I have finally convinced him to move to the mac and now that he has, he is getting really frustrated that his songs are "lost". :-)

It sounds like your issue here is that iTunes can not find the files for some of the songs you have brought into it. This happens occasionally even if the songs have not been moved from the location that iTunes places them on import or purchase. When you try to use the song, iTunes prompts you to find the file, as you have seen.
To find the file, use the information in this article to navigate through the iTunes media folders -
Locate and organize your iTunes files
If you are still unable to locate the files, you may need to download them from the iTunes store again, or rip them from your CDs. See this article for assistance with downloading your past purchases -

Using Shuffle Songs option

I have Christmas songs on my ipod music library and don't want them to play when I use the shuffle songs option. I don't want to delete them from the library, but I don't want them included in my regular shuffle songs option. Is there any where to check or uncheck the songs from my Mac?

If you go to the Now Playing screen, the Repeat control is the the arrowed racetrack icon on the left side right below the scrubber bar. Tap the icon to change. It is white when Repeat is off.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

My iphone 4 keeps switching songs, playing and pausing by itself especially when I use my headphones

Ever since I installed the iOS 7.1 update, my iPhone 4 keeps playing, pausing, switching to the next song, fast forwarding by itself. Especially when I use my headphones. It's getting really frustrating because not only is it when I listen to the music player, but also on youtube videos and then it pause the video and then play the music from the music player or it would pause music on soundcloud by itself too. This mostly happens when I use my headphones but when I don't use my headphones I don't see it happening.
A friend called me and I was using my headphones and the conversation kept getting hanged up by itself it wasn't until I stopped using the headphones that I could have a normal converstation, but I only talked for less than a minute without the headphones so it wasn't enough to tell me that it is the headphones that is the problem. So is it my phone or my headphones? Is this a software problem because of the update because my headphones were not doing this before, HOW CAN I MAKE THIS STOP. (This has been happening for almost a week now)
BTW: I also noticed that if I am listening to music on the music player or youtube and its in my pocket or hand and Im jumping to the song or shaking (lol) the songs pause and plays then switches to the next song aaaaurrrrrruuuuuuuggggggghrrrrrghhhhhhh WHATS GOING ON

It sounds like your touch screen is acting erratically and seems to be exacerbated when you have your earphones in. I recommend the information in the following article named:

Restart your device
Hold the On/Off button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.
If you can't restart your device, reset it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for a least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
Avoid using the device while wearing gloves, with wet hands, or immediately after applying hand lotion.
If you have a protective case, or if you are using a plastic sheet or film on the display, try removing them and testing the device without it.
If the steps above don't resolve your issue, please schedule a service appointment with an Apple Retail Store for evaluation. If an Apple Retail store is not an option, contact Apple to find out your best service option or see theService FAQ for your product.

Next, plug the Apple TV into your computer with a micro-usb cable (most phones today use these) and start up Itunes. It should detect the Apple TV in recovery.
After that, hold down Option on Apple or Alt on Windows and click Restore. This should open a window that allows you to select the software update you want to apply. Select the one you downloaded earlier.
It will then go through the restore process, which takes only a few minutes, and then you will be able to plug the Apple TV back in to your display and set it up again.
I recently ran into a similar issue with a bunch of these things and after restoring them all to the previous software version they are working again.
