    Information from the iTunes help:
Here are ways to install plug-ins:
To install a plug-in for all users of the computer, drag the plug-in to:
    Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins
If the iTunes and iTunes Plug-ins folders don’t exist, you can create them.
To install a plug-in for a specific user, drag the plug-in to:
    Home/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins
To remove plugins... quit iTunes, then go to the folders listed above and move items from the iTunes Plug-ins folders to the desktop (start in your user folder first)

  • Missing Audio Driver in Windows 8.1 64 bit

I have a HP Pavilion m7750n that originally was installed with Windows Vista. It's had it's hard drive replaced many times over the years, and now it's running on Windows 8.1 64 bit.
The problem is: the audio driver went missing somehow
I can't find it on Device Manager (no "Unknown Devices" show up on the menu)
The only "Sound, video, and game comtrollers" drivers that show up are:
    1. Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600
    2. NVIDIA High Definition Audio
    3. NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device
All of this happened after I used the "Refresh" option Windows 8 has. The right sound driver showed up on Device Manager and worked before I did this.
On sound options it says the only audio devices I have are some HDMI outputs. The only way to get sound out of my PC anymore is to hook it up to my TV from a HDMI cable connected to the HDMI port on my video card.
Does anyone know how I can find the audio driver so i can use my desktop speakers again?

    Hi,
It uses "Realtek High Definition Audio" and Microsoft says it's compatible but many people say no:
         http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/CompatCenter/ProductDetailsViewer?Name=Realtek%...
    Please try:
        http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownT...
    or
      http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SOUND-CARD/REALTEK/Realtek-High-Definition-Audio-Driver-6017161-for...
Other option: does it have a spare PCI/PCIe slot ? Buy a PCI or PCIe aud card and install on your machine.
    Regards.

  • Does my crossover frequency overlapping- (Speaker Vs Sound Driver)??

Hi, I own 6 Channel Speaker system connected to Creative X-FI 5.1 Sound driver . Speaker has a build-in crossover frequency 150Hz. In the sound driver also has an option to select a crossover frequency for LFE. (By default it set to 80Hz).
So my question is, does my sound driver crossed the frequencies 80Hz and same time my Speaker crossed 150 Hz to LFE? If it does, It seems I miss the frequency band between 80-150Hz!! So what would be the best way. adjusting the Sound Driver Crossover Fr to align with Speaker crossover? ( in my case, 150 Hz???)
    Please let me know!
    Thanks

Well, theory and practice can be different sometimes.
The only thing I can imagine is that the low-pass filter in the soundsystem is not fully able to filter out all bass frequencies below 150Hz and some get through to the satellites which are not capable of producing them correctly, hence the distortion.
The driver filter will cut them off digitally, so really nothing below 150Hz will get to the satellites if you set the driver crossover frequency to that --> no distortion.
For the more tight/more soft bass I guess it's the same thing, the built-in filter can't get everything below 150Hz completely to the subwoofer (the higher bass frequencies lose some of their power), therefore it can "concentrate" on the 0-80Hz range that comes directly from the driver (digitally cut off). If you set the drivers filter frequency higher, the higher bass frequencies retain their full power and the subwoofer has to work a higher spectrum of frequencies and the extremely low frequencies lose some punch.
That's the only explanation I can think of, maybe someone with more technical/audio knowledge could answer it better.
I would rather take softer bass over fuzz/distortion.
Just set the driver crossover frequency so that the result pleases your ears.

    Hi,
    Here are the drivers.
Unzip to a folder...use Device Manager.
From Device Manager, right click "Audio Device on High Def Bus",choose Update driver,
    No to connect,
Install from a list or specific location,
Select Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install,
For the Hardware Type select 'Show All Devices'
Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".
Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
    Ignore XP when it complains.

  • Re: Satellite L300-1A8 - SATA and sound driver

I had to change SATA from AHCI to compatible, because I wanted to install Windows XP on my L300. Is there any way to install SATA driver under existing OS?
And one more problem. I cannot install the sound driver.
Installation passes ok, but after restarting there is no sound or even installed sound card in device manager, and there is still by the PCI device.
Need help as soon as possible

    > {quote:title=SoGood wrote:}{quote}well, first, I have tried to install WXP SP3 with integrated SATA drivers, but I got the blue screen after loading of drivers...I didn't pressed F6, mabe that was a problem...
    Yes, that was the problem.
If you install Windows XP and you hade set the SATA mode to AHCI, you must press F6 to load the drivers.
Download the drivers and copy it on an external FDD.
But there is an other option. You can use nLite: http://www.nliteos.com
nLite is a tool for pre-installationd Windows configuration an component removal at your choice. You can also integrate the SATA drivers, Service Packs, etc. So must not press F6 and not use an external FDD.
By the way, it's normal when your laptop is a little bit slower, because the SATA drivers are missing.

Download the Windows Support Software (in Boot Camp Assistant) and install it again.

  • Where's my missing hard drive space?

I posted earlier about this, it may be a bit off topic but if anyone can offer a clue, I would appreciate it.
I got my win 7 upgrade and was waiting until vista started giving me headaches or the win7 service pack1 came out to upgrade...vista got me to upgrade today and I have to admit it was much less painful than i anticipated.
My question is about the missing hard drive space on my Idea center K230 on the box and on the side of the comp it claims a 640 HD (it claims in small print that up to 18gb may be used for the service partition) I questioned this when i first got it and even after deleting all the preloaded crap it was still saying 540 available out of 580GB....then I read that Lenovo has a huge partition for backup. So when I do my upgrade to win 7- 64 bit, I do a clean install and delete the smaller partition and reformat and expand the larger but before installing the new OS it says I have 596 available, so where the hell is the other 44GB of hard drive...did Lenovo rip us off and put 600GB hard drives in the K230's or is there a hidden partition still left that I cant find?
I am running everything off of my 596GB C: drive, I have my virus stuff and video card extras loaded, everything from the upgrade and 21 available patches and new drivers for most of my stuff....right now I am at at 575gb available and if i can ever find a printer driver that works I will create a backup point or disc from there, whatever win 7 allows. I never wanted the Lenovo one button back up and thought it was stupid to put a big glowing button on the keyboard that wipes your system back to when it came out of the box...I had nightmares of someone getting curious and going "what does this button do?"
.I notice I have a program files folder and a program files (x86) folder with a bunch of redundant files. what's the deal with this is Lenovo still hiding a backup program (maybe in that hidden partition?)  that fills my hard drive twice as fast or is there a purpose for the file copies?
Any info on the above questions would be appreciated, and for those of you just looking for upgrade info I have good news, when you finally get your win7 upgrade disc it is the easiest windows installation ever, almost copmpletely automated, and very fast. So far the only sticking point is finding a printer driver, but I have 3 printers i can try, maybe one is supported.

    Hi wise2u!
You can read all the details about how storage manufacturers use multiples of 1000 to measure disk space, and Windows reports it in multiples of 1024, and there is some overhead for Windows, or you can just use this rule of thumb from wikipedia:
A general rule of thumb to quickly convert the manufacturer's hard disk capacity to the standard Microsoft Windows formatted capacity is 0.93*capacity of HDD from manufacturer for HDDs less than a terabyte and 0.91*capacity of HDD from manufacturer for HDDs equal to or greater than 1 terabyte.
    0.93 * 640GB = 595GB, which is about what you're seeing.
    I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

    Open the Device Manager:
    1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
    2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.
    3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"

  • Tecra 9000: After SP2 installation the Yamaha sound driver does not work

    Hi,
    I own a Tecra 9000, with a Yamaha AC-XG sound card.
The problem is that since I installed Windows XP with SP2 included, I lost my sound.
I know also that Toshiba is aware of this situation and they have managed to post a solution for it. I've tried this solution:
    Detail:
The Yamaha AC-XG driver uses PortCls function for checking the operatingsystem version. XP Service Pack 1, PortCls function is changed, then the Yamaha driver cannot get operatingsystem version correctly. The operatingsystem provides the version for Windows 95. Therefore the Operatingsystem has a blue screen. Therefore Microsoft added the workaround and illegal drivers are blocked from working on SP1. This issue also happens Windows XP SP2.
    Yamaha already provides the fixed drvier to Toshiba. The fixed driver version is the following;
    yacxg.sys 6.13.10.2152 with software synthesizer
    yacxgc.sys 6.13.10.3152 without software synthesizer
    How to fix this issue:
Install the fixed driver on a system before/after installing Windows XP Service Pack 2.
    Install steps:
    (1) Unzip an attached file on your hard disk.
    (2) Run SETUP.EXE
    (3) Click the Next button.
    (4) Choose "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and click Finish.
A toshiba engineer told me that first of all I needed to install the old driver "5.12.01.3141", and it worked out ok, but still no sound.
And then he told me to install the version "6.13.10.2152", but this went wrong. I've got the error message "Driver was not installed".
I already tried lots of different drivers, including generic and yamaha drivers.
Please tell me a good solution for this issue if possible.
    Thank you very much,
    Hugo

    Hi Hugo
It seems today is your lucky day ;)
Thanks to Toshiba because the Toshiba computer knowledge base is a really useful area and I have found many useful document and solutions!!!
I found also a solution for your tiny issue ;)
As you said the problem is the Microsoft service pack 2. The sound driver makes some troubles after the installation of SP1 or SP2 and therefore the update is necessary!!!
    Please take a look here:
Windows XP Service Pack 1a or Service Pack 2 incompatible with existing Yamaha sound driver

  • Satellite A300D-15B PSAKCE - Cannot install the Win XP 64bit sound driver

    Hello all,
This is my first post here after lurking for the last week or two, My hope is that somewhere here there is help and hence hope!
I have a wonderful Toshiba A300D-15B PSAKCE with 4GB/O RAM, however I am suffering from some problems that the holy SEARCH function cannot solve. I use this laptop as a development box for uni/work alas...
After an absolute nightmare with Vista32 and Vista64 I decided to go back to windows XP32, however this wont install, keeps claiming a CRC file failure after (and yes this is with the SATA in IDE mode and with an XPSP2 disk)
I decided that I really DONT want to goback to Vista, so installed Windows XP64. Now the initial Instal goes very easy, I have the basic setup, the chipset, graphics, network, processor, usb, pretty much the basic... except... and this is where I have lost most of my hair.... SOUND!
Firstly attempting to install the sound driver results in Failure, claiming the mmdriver.inf cannot be found or corrupt, obviously I checked, and yes there it is, for the sake of it downloaded the MMDRIVER.INF and placed it system32, and still the install fails.
I have also tried a "Manual Install", from the .inf files... this includes the XP32/64 drivers and the Vista 32/64 bit drivers, still the same
problem, driver continues to fail install. I am becoming increasingly bald. Outstanding Drivers that WONT install

Now, as I write this I have heard rumor that the A305D uses the same
audio/graphics drivers.... well.... off to try something I guess...
if there is any help or ideas I would appreciate it.

    Thanks Jaba
Initially I attempted to locate the MS patches you mentioned, KB835221 and KB888111 respectively, alas there were none available that I could find for XP64, also at the time of tapping this message theres no XPSP3 for XP64 bit either.
Lucky for me I logged into my MSDN account and downloaded XP+XPSP3 tore the house up looking for a CDR... anyway long story short.... solved all the problems with the required updates of SP3, I now have my Toshiba A300D-15B all singing 'n dancing laptop setup completely with XP32.
Had to take a hit on the RAM though, gonnna have to go on with only 3.2GB instead of 4GB,
arguably when one counts the memory foot-print that vista ultimate 64 had used I am probalby still on a winner here in memory avaiable terms LOL!
    thanks again! much help!

did you have working audio before you did something that messed it up?
alsa is pretty much all you need for working audio. You could run pulseaudio on top of it if you want, but usually it doesn't benefit you in any way unless you have some specific issues with alsa, like audio only playing from one application at the time.
You can safely remove everything OSS related, unless you actually want to configure your system to use OSS for some reason.
If you want to revert to default your alsa configuration you could just remove your ~/.asoundrc and /etc/asound.conf if you have modified those files. If you want to use pulseaudio, reinstall pulseaudio-alsa to revert /etc/asound.conf configuration so that your alsa-only applications work with pulse.

  • Satellite P10-802: What was new in sound driver update

There are new sound drivers for Satellite P10-802 which claim to add sound features such as 3d enhancement and software synthesizer and i would like to know what these actually do and if it's effective enough to bother updating.
For example the sound system is made by toshiba bass enhancement but when i put in my very costly bass earphones,
My cd player [produces atleast 5x more bass and clarity.
So i would like to know what the driver has to offer as to what the standard driver can do.
The driver description is as follows:-
A broad range of audio controls are possible by using this sound driver, including: Software Synthesizer, Microphone volume, 3D enhancement and Power management
    thanks

Sounds much information to me already.
Updating is mostly a good thing and they remain the same standard sound driver, just with some new features.
Ok, I'll take a lokk at it.
3d enhancement: Seems like when using a complete surround sound speaker set was improved, maybe it added more settings like distance between front and rear or delay from rear speakers as you would have like using an expensive stereo receiver.
Software synthesizer is a little tweaking of how music for example sounds. IF you wish more bass or treble than you could adjust ist with this program.
I don't know if you need those features, so you have to decide on your own.

Connecting the iPhone with USB sends me directly to the MS app that downloads pictures from the iPhone. Suggest this is a question of missing Apple driver for Windows 8, iTunes and iPhone. MS does not care! This seems to be a general problem with Windows 8 that a number of drivers that used to work with Windows 7 now do not work, ie. iPhone to iTunes, HTC to HTCSync, Samsung to Kies etc. I need this connection to work in order to syncronize with Outlook and my iTunes library.
