Missing start arrow in video/movie

Hallo,
in my iBook I would like to use videos opening up in full screen mode, when touched.
When I select "fullscreen mode" in the inspector, the little arrow in the middle of start photo of the movie disappears!
How can I prevent this? I would like to see it, so that people know that they will have to touch an the movie will start.

All actions start with a tap or a swipe. This is fundamental. There is no need to add redundent instructions. Am I addressing your concern or is there something else? Note the movie window must be selected for the Full-Screen Only check box to be active. - Fabe

    If I open my page with FFox it's fine the flash symbol occurs

    I've now noticed that many websites now have the Flash play

    So the webpage can be littered with these. Is there a reason for
    this other than someone making lots of flash content for their

    Apple TV 2 all of a sudden has trouble streaming.  I stream from my desktop computer's iTunes for movies, and tonight it started stopping randomly mid movie and saying it wasn't connected.  Any ideas?  Router?  ATV dying?
    It just says not connected, and as soon as it bails to menu, it connects again and will play for another minute before doing the same thing all over again.

    Hello David,
    Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
    It sounds like your Apple TV is having trouble streaming videos from iTunes on your computer. This symptom could have a variety of causes, and I'd suggest the following initial troubleshooting steps.
    In addition to restarting your devices (Apple TV, computer, router), try the tips in this article, starting with "Check your home network:"

  • ITunes also playing videos/movies?

    Hi, I have stupid question, can I play in iTunes videos or movies? Thanks for reply.

    This problem cropped up for me yesterday. I had just copied a new video to my iTunes library and was testing that it worked properly, but while the sound was playing, the screen was black.
    Pausing/pressing the Play button resolves the issue, until I select a new video/movie to play, when I have to do it again.
    I'm running MacOS X 10.6.6 and iTunes 10.1.1 (4). I tried reinstalling iTunes, with no luck. I also tried the old mainstay of replacing the Preferences file, but that also didn't help.
    There is ONE new wrinkle to this situation. Yesterday, I had installed a new app named AirView to stream videos over AirPlay to my iPad. This works fine, but after this, the issue cropped up, suggesting an AirPlay issue.
    I have two iMacs, so decided to try this situation on the Kitchen iMac and played a video on this other iMac just fine, video and sound. I then started up AirView on the iPad and initiated the video stream to the iPad from the Kitchen iMac. The movie played fine on the iPad. I quit AirView and went back to try the video on the Kitchen iMac, and yes, the video now failed to display until I reselected Computer from the AirPlay menu at the bottom of the screen, or used the pause/play solution, even though Computer was still selected as the default in the AirPlay menu. Doing this once seemed to be enough to resolve the issue for playing all videos on the Kitchen iMac, but not on the Office iMac.
    The only other difference between iTunes on these two iMacs is that one (the Office iMac) is running its videos from a FireWire 800 attached 2TB hard drive, while the Kitchen iMac's contents are on the internal hard drive.
    Deselecting the AirPlay option in Preferences/Devices to start videos correctly on the Office iMac is not a solution, since this iMac serves as our home server for our Apple TV.
    Since I have a practical option, however, and since this issue doesn't affect playing videos remotely using AirPlay, this is now a buggy annoyance, but no longer a problem for me.

  • Has anyone started a "Save AppleWorks" movement?

    Having toodled with iWork a little bit, I am sad to say that while it does have some nice features, it dos not measure up to the usefullness of good old AppleWorks. What is missing is obviously the spreadsheet and database capabilities.
    Has anybody started a "Save AppleWorks" movement, and if so how can I help. I am more interested in the spreadsheet part, but have occasionally have use for a database as well.

    Martin Gallo...
    It seems that AppleWorks is doomed as we know it. Or as Yvan put it "A "Save AppleWorks" movement will certainly fail."
    Perhaps being bundled for free in most Mac sales it didn't generate income needed for further development. Micro$oft Office seemed to be a catch all for the rest of the "power" users without giving AppleWorks even a remote chance. Expecially concerning cross-platform Windows users.
    I am still looking for that killer app that can replace AppleWorks (inexpensively) but to date, no such luck.

  • HT3775 I can not open a video movie clip, the system ask for a codec, how can a set up that automatlicly

    I can not open a video movie clip, the system ask for a codec, how can a set up automatlicly?

    The problem was resolved a small manipulation - on stage Basic Configuration,
    point 3 "Configure CA Introscope"
    I forgot to add to the list of CA Introscope Enterprise Managers link to my manager.
    Thus it is necessary to take into account that the path should be correct (usually for linux - /usr/sap/ccms/apmintroscope) and the directory should be applied appropriate privileges.
    Then in paragraph "Byte Code Adapter Installation" - there are all the necessary data, and it starts to work correctly

  • Is there a way to take a video pause and continue playing on same video so i dont have to start a new video on my ipad 2

    is there a way to start a video on my ipad 2 pause and continue playing on same video so i do have to start another video

    In I movie, load the player with your clip.  Play it until the frame you want is in the viewing window.  Then take a screen shot and the whole screen wil be captured and placed in the camera roll.  You can then crop it down to just the picture, or portion of the picture you want.
    Not elegant, but functional.

  • Where do I find the interactive "Getting Started with Lion" video?

    Hello from England.
    Please be nice to me and talk in a language an OAP might understand.
    I recently installed Lion on my MaBook.  I did this in my lunch hour at work and took a tad longer than I anticipated.  Anyway, after the shut down and re-start up popped an interactive "getting started with Lion" video which showed you all of the new touch gestures etc.
    Anyway - as ym lunch hour was running out I closed my MacBook with the intention of watching this video later so I could learn all of the exciting and clever things.
    Yes, you guessed it, throughout the day whilst I was busy, busy, busy working, not on a my mac ,but on my office PC (uk) the battery ran flat and I had to plug in and re-start again at home.
    Did the "getting started on Lion" video pop up again?  No.  And for the life of me I can't find it anywhere.  Not even trustworthy YouTube.
    Can anybody tell me how I make this appear again pretty please?
    First to reply gets a Scone and a Cup of Tea.
    Thank you

  • Can I Start & Stop playback of movies via Speech Commands?

    Hi all,
    I hope this is the correct forum, if not then please point me in the right direction.
    I am experienced on the Mac [first computer a IIci] but have never used Speech Commands until today. I wanted to do something simple I thought, just start and stop movies using a voice command.
    How? I've set the Listening Method to Keyword, and it works fine for other commands. For example I can tell it to close the movie window and it obeys, but it simply won't control playback.
    Argh. Please help!

    I use Speakable Items. Not sure if you can use a voice command to stop & play videos/movies. Haven't run across that command *yet.* However, that is not to say it's not possible. Some commands are customable. +<----- Did I just make up a word?+
    Suggest that you do the following (if you have not already done so):
    System Preferences>Speech>Speech Recognition
    At the bottom right, click on the purple button w/the black "?" mark in the center.
    In the window that opens, scroll down to the bottom. On the left side, click the "spoken commands" link.
    Go grab a snack/meal, get comfortable & prepare yourself to read all the things you can do w/your voice. Hopefully, stopping & playing videos/movies is one of them.
    Good luck!
    EDIT: The above is what is on Tiger. I just noticed you are using Leopard (out dated version). The 'Help' feature should be the same. I am not near my Leopard machine to check. You may also need to update to OS 10.5.6 to get all the features SR has to offer.
    I have requested that HOST move your post over to the Leopard Forum area.

  • How can i add videos,movies and tv shows episodes to my ipod nano?I want to know whether i can directly add them through my pc or not without downloading them from i tunes store?

    how can i add videos,movies and tv shows episodes to my ipod nano?I want to know whether i can directly add them through my pc or not without downloading them from i tunes store?

    Yes, you can add your own videos to iTunes, then sync them to your nano, subject to supported max resolution limit and file type.  The specs for the 7th gen nano says (I don't know which nano model you have), Video Format Support
    "H.264 video: 720 by 576 pixels, 30 frames per second; Baseline, Main, and High-Profile level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 256 Kbps; 48kHz; stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
    MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 Mbps, 720 by 576 pixels, 30 frames per second; Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 256 Kbps; 48kHz; stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats"
    http://www.apple.com/ipod-nano/specs.html
    (earlier nanos have lower max resolution limits)
    So, "HD" video is too high resolution, so iTunes will not sync such videos to the iPod (although they play in iTunes).  If you are asking how to set up iTunes to sync videos in general (regardless of source), please post back.

  • Will videos/movies play continuously on the iPod or only one at a time?

    I have 80g iPod Classic and wish it could play videos continuously like it can play songs. Nothing in the pdf manual about it. Nothing in iTunes prefs about it. Nothing in iPod settings about it. I know if I make a playlist of videos in iTunes, iTunes can/will play the entire playlist before it stops. I dragged the playlist to the iPod, but there it plays one video and stops. Question: can it be done or can't it, and if so, HOW?

    IT CAN BE DONE! I went to the linked thread
    (http://www.podcentral.ph/forum/showthread.php?t=3801)
    and tried this, which works: in iTunes create a playlist of videos/movies; select all; choose Get Info from the File menu (yes to the alert); at the bottom of the window (titled "Multiple Item Information") toggle the "Skip When Shuffling" to "No". Then you can drag the playlist to your iPod's newly created playlist box. P.S.: Of 11 videos, 2 were rejected for not being able to be played "on this iPod", even though they already had played on it hours before, even though I had to convert many files so they could be "played on this iPod". "In any complex system blah blah will eventually blah blah.

  • Missing start boundary exception, caused by an empty Part, how to handle?

    Hello,
    i wrote an application that automatically handles mails from laboratories. The only essential part of the mail is the attachment, where chemical analyses are submitted (from permitted addresses, recognized by whitelist and fileheader of the attachment). Other ways to submit data weren't allowed.
    Currently a mail was received that can't be parsed. It's from a laboratory, that
    use its provider's (a german internet suplier named Arcor) webmail, a browser-based mailing portal. It always worked fine, because they wrote some greetings. But this time they sent a blank message. The result is following structure of the mail:
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    Content-Type: multipart/mixed;
    boundary="----=_Part_50112_10709369.1203586767396"
    //Some X-Flags
    ------=_Part_50112_10709369.1203586767396
    Content-Type: multipart/alternative;
         boundary="*----=_Part_50111_24141780.1203586767396*"
    ------=_Part_50111_24141780.1203586767396--
    ------=_Part_50112_10709369.1203586767396
    Content-Type: application/octet-stream
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
    Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=somefile.bin
    ABCDEF.... //Some binary data
    ------=_Part_50112_10709369.1203586767396--
    It seems the webmailer creates an empty mailpart and only writes the end boundary (Line: ------=_Part_50111_24141780.1203586767396--).
    I know, the start boundary is really missing.
    I checked it out by getting a mailaccount from Arcor, and it always creates this structure when sending a message without a text. By the way, the Message-ID (header) generated from Arcor's server seems to be from javamail. (.....1234.567890.....JavaMail.ngmail@....).
    I don't know how many mailclients create "empty" parts, but impossible is nothing (e.g. other or future webmailer services).
    But how to handle?
    The error occures when calling MimeMultipart.getCount(), which causes to parse the mail if not parsed. All actions, which cause the mail to be parsed, will end in this exception (for this mail).
    I looked at the javamail source and found out, that the line of the empty part is not recognized as a boundary, because of its ending delimiters:
    if (line.equals(boundary))
    break;
    So the boundary is added to the preamble. It goes on with reading lines from the stream, until line == null.
    if (line == null)
    throw new MessagingException("Missing start boundary");
    Because there is no test, if the line matches the end boundary, it's not recognized. Wouldn't it be better in this case, to add an empty bodypart and set a variable to false (e.g. complete) instead of throwing an exception? Because MimeMultipart.parse() is called by other methods, like getCount, getBodyPart and writeTo, I can't nearly do anything automatically with the mail. How should i walk through the bodyparts and fetch the parts I'm interested in?
    Subclassing seems to be difficult to me:
    Object content = message.getContent();
    //javax.mail.Message, won't return a subclassed multipart
    if (content instanceof Multipart) {
    //recursive method!
    handleMultipart((Multipart) content); //collecting parts from multipart
    Of course, I could ask the laboratory: "please send me a greeting!" ;-)
    Greetings,
    cliff

    Interesting.
    Yes, it's probably a bug that JavaMail allows you to
    create a multipart with no body parts, since the
    MIME specification doesn't allow that. Still, the
    webmail application should be fixed so that it doesn't
    try to do that, at least including an empty plain text
    body part.
    Please contact the webmail provider and tell them of
    this bug in their application.
    I'll also look into making JavaMail cope with these
    broken messages more gracefully. Contact me
    at [email protected] and I'll let you know when
    I have a version ready to test.

  • How can I solve a "org.jvnet.mimepull.MIMEParsingException: Missing start boundary" when using "Page Attachments to Disk"?

    I have built a streaming MTOM enabled web service for downloading large files. I also built a client that uses that service (with MTOM and streaming feature). Everything works, when the client calls the web service directly.
    Then I have set up the OSB, so that I can call the service through the OSB. I have build a Business Service and a Proxy Service. For the Business Service, I use "XOP/MTOM Enabled", "Include Binary Data By Reference" and "Page Attachments to Disk" to prevent the OSB from loading the whole data into memory.
    If I do not use the "Page Attachments to Disk" option, the download works, but I assume everything is loaded into the OSB memory.
