Missing Start Up Programs

Hello,
I uninstalled a program (Shellless) and rebooted pc,but no programs run on system start up and no icons appear in system tray (I mean the programs which normally should run on start up, such as antivirus, messenger, firewall ...). How can I fix this problem?

I had a similar problem where the start menu, taskbar and icons gone missing. I had to use the task manager to terminate explorer.exe and create it as a new task. But still, missed items did not show up but found to be necessary to prevent system becoming very slow.
I think the solution outlined in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/962963 is necessary. That, combined with uninstalling and reinstalling the anti-virus tool fixed the problem for me.

I started a vncserver via `vncserver -geometry 1792x1008 -alwaysshared :1` and within it, I am running xfce4 just fine. I would like to start a program from a shell outside of the vncserver. I tried the following but got errors. What am I missing?

.MessagingException - Missing start boundary when loading a mail twice

I have found a very interesting behaviour. When parsing a multipart mail twice, there is an error "javax.mail.MessagingException: Missing start boundary". This happens for every multipart mail which is fetched via POP3 and seems to be independant of both POP3 Server and the mail client the message was built with.

I thought that the 2 code blocks which are commented might be a workaround, but nothing changed if both blocks are active.

Yes, thank you, that's a bug introduced in the (not yet final) JavaMail 1.4.4 release.
I've fixed it. I'll push the fix soon.
mail.mime.multipart.bmparse is a property to control whether the old (slow) multipart parser
is used, or the new (fast) Boyer-Moore multipart parser is used.

Missing Start DLL

I bought a new Officejet 4830 when my Officejet 6700 died I unustalled all of the 6700 programs but now I'm getting an error message :
There was a problem starting c:\Program Files\HP\HP Officejet 6700\bin\HPStatusBL.dll
The specified module could not be found
I have used every toll I have to check the startup programs, and cannot find the entry for this one. Can anyone help?
This occurs every time Windows is restarted. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, and it is fully updated.

I re-installed the 6700 software, told it I would attach printer later, copied the .dll to a hold folder and then uninstalled the 6700 software. Same error, so I created the missing folder in Program Files, copied the .dll to the location specified in the message (you will have to create all the folders) and the message disappeared. Everything else is gone. Just have to keep that dummy file around.

Flash Player doesn't appear on "Start all programs" even after installation completed.

I downloaded FlashPlayer 11(latest) and installed.
Installation progress bar reached end that seemed to complete.
But FlashPlayer doesn't appear on windows "Start > all programs".
There is no "FlashPlayer" folder under "Program files > Adobe" as well.
Would anybody help?
What is missing or wrong on my installation?

Right.... becuase it ISN'T a program... it's a PLUGIN for your browser. You'll find it in:
Internet Explorer - Tools (the little "gear" icon)>Manage Add-ons
Firefox - Tools>Add-ons - under the Plugins Tab

If you are using a Mac, simply hit Command-Spacebar to bring up Spotlight Search. Begin typing the name of the application and when you see what you are looking for, press enter. You should get a hit by the second or third letter you type. Great way to launch apps on computers that you are not familiar with.
Windows 7 and 8 should have something similar. I think you simply press the Windows key and begin typing. Press enter when you see a match.
Both Mac and Windows search tools can be customized to search for applications, files, emails and so forth. For Windows, look for Taskbar and Start Menu Properties. For Mac, go to Preferences Spotlight. Turn off items you know you won't need to speed up searches.

A new start-up program in my Win 8.1: I can't stop it!

Hi fellows. What about this article?
In the last couple of days I've been getting loads of email from WinPatrol customers asking what is this strange new start-up program?
The name is only numbers and no matter how many times I try to block or disable it, it just keeps coming back.
I noticed that on every machine the number was different. Even on my computer, the number was different every single time, almost like it was either trying to elude being blocked or was a tracking number of some kind.
Then I received an email from a customer who had discovered this mysterious program is actually "Adobe Speed Launcher". I had not agreed to install this, so I was a bit confused as to it purpose.
So, I took the plunge and let it run on one of my test machine.
After letting it run, I saw the below entry for Adobe Speed Launcher was added as a "Run Once" start-up program. Considering this is a RunOnce, my assumption was it would be installing the full-blown "Adobe Speed Laucher" on next system start-up. Now I was curoius.
I have come this far, lets reboot and see what happens.
After rebooting, I was waiting for a pop-up installing some new software, but nothing.
Nothing at all... Interesting.
While waiting I did some investigation and realized that my local copy of Adobe Reader had been upgraded the day before. Now the pieces are all falling into place.
I was allowing Adobe to automatically update itself in an effort to protect my system better because as we all know, Adobe has had quite a few vunerabilities over the years.
Giving Adobe the benefit if the doubt, I was thinking to myself that one pop-up is not that bad.
Then up came 2 more.
This time for a new number.
Frustrated at this, I opened Adobe Reader to see if there was a setting for disabling Adobe Speed Launcher.
I could not find one.
Now I was becoming annoyed with Speed Launcher, so I did some research online.
From what I have read Adobe Speed Launcher was created in order to make Adobe Reader start-up more quickly when you use it. On the surface this sounds good, but I only use Adobe Reader once a month, if that.
Why do I want it to take up system resources in pre-loading files every single time I start my computer when I will most likely not be using it anyway?
Now, if they had accomplished the restart of Speed Launcher in a better, more non-obtrusive way, I may not have even noticed it for a while. But, adding new RunOnce keys every time a computer is restarted is a somewhat questionable practice more fitting for adware than a product I want installed on my computer.
Therefore, because I could not figure out a way of easily disabling Adobe Speed Launcher, I decided to complete remove Adobe Reader XI instead.
The annoying pop-ups have stopped.
The next time I need to read a PDF, I will find a reader that is written in a more user-friendly way.

Please log off and log back in to your machine and the issue should be resolved automatically. In case that does not work, please manually run the msi installer posted here (may require reboot).

HT1926 when updating Itunes on my computer an error message appears stating that itunes update cannot be completed because there is a program missing. What program is it that itunes needs? I am currently using windows xp.

Missing start boundary exception, caused by an empty Part, how to handle?

i wrote an application that automatically handles mails from laboratories. The only essential part of the mail is the attachment, where chemical analyses are submitted (from permitted addresses, recognized by whitelist and fileheader of the attachment). Other ways to submit data weren't allowed.
Currently a mail was received that can't be parsed. It's from a laboratory, that
use its provider's (a german internet suplier named Arcor) webmail, a browser-based mailing portal. It always worked fine, because they wrote some greetings. But this time they sent a blank message. The result is following structure of the mail:

It seems the webmailer creates an empty mailpart and only writes the end boundary (Line: ------=_Part_50111_24141780.1203586767396--).
I know, the start boundary is really missing.
I checked it out by getting a mailaccount from Arcor, and it always creates this structure when sending a message without a text. By the way, the Message-ID (header) generated from Arcor's server seems to be from javamail. (.....1234.567890.....JavaMail.ngmail@....).
I don't know how many mailclients create "empty" parts, but impossible is nothing (e.g. other or future webmailer services).
But how to handle?
The error occures when calling MimeMultipart.getCount(), which causes to parse the mail if not parsed. All actions, which cause the mail to be parsed, will end in this exception (for this mail).
I looked at the javamail source and found out, that the line of the empty part is not recognized as a boundary, because of its ending delimiters:

So the boundary is added to the preamble. It goes on with reading lines from the stream, until line == null.

Because there is no test, if the line matches the end boundary, it's not recognized. Wouldn't it be better in this case, to add an empty bodypart and set a variable to false (e.g. complete) instead of throwing an exception? Because MimeMultipart.parse() is called by other methods, like getCount, getBodyPart and writeTo, I can't nearly do anything automatically with the mail. How should i walk through the bodyparts and fetch the parts I'm interested in?
Subclassing seems to be difficult to me:

Interesting.
Yes, it's probably a bug that JavaMail allows you to
create a multipart with no body parts, since the
MIME specification doesn't allow that. Still, the
webmail application should be fixed so that it doesn't
try to do that, at least including an empty plain text
body part.
Please contact the webmail provider and tell them of
this bug in their application.
I'll also look into making JavaMail cope with these
broken messages more gracefully. Contact me

The easier way is to use
system restore to roll back to the previous point without any problem for test.

I have built a streaming MTOM enabled web service for downloading large files. I also built a client that uses that service (with MTOM and streaming feature). Everything works, when the client calls the web service directly.
Then I have set up the OSB, so that I can call the service through the OSB. I have build a Business Service and a Proxy Service. For the Business Service, I use "XOP/MTOM Enabled", "Include Binary Data By Reference" and "Page Attachments to Disk" to prevent the OSB from loading the whole data into memory.
If I do not use the "Page Attachments to Disk" option, the download works, but I assume everything is loaded into the OSB memory.
When I use the "Page Attachments to Disk" option, I receive the following error message

The message was followed by a message that stated that I needed to contact Adobe technical support and mention Error: 150.30. I need Adobe technical support to provide me a solution for my problem so I can continue using my Adobe products installed on my computer.

Unfortunately when Adobe products are restored from backup, especial CS4 and especially Mac, it breaks licensing.
There is a python script included in the license recovery kit that should work if you are familiar with Terminal.
If not, you must reinstall your CS4 suite. You don't need to delete your preferences, so it should be the same as before.
