Missing Submit button

I have Captivate 3 and Flash 8. I exported a Captivate
project to Flash (so I could add some code and checkmarks to a
menu). The quiz questions don't have a Submit button. Is there some
trick to getting the Submit button to be exported to the fla? Is it
there somewhere that I haven't spotted?
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
Marci

Hi Hilary,
Let me start over, I started this thread because I was getting the "...data has changed..." msg when I created a new master/detail form in my app. I assumed it was because I was hitting the submit for the master, not the detail. I assumed the submit button on the detail was missing.
To demonstrate the issue, I used the wizard to create a new master/detail form in the sample app in my OTN workspace. It gets this error, but the original master/detail (pg 29) does not.
I reviewed the 3.1 User's Guide and the only caveat I saw about triggers on master/detail was that you can not have a manually entered key on detail region.
So, I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong in my master/detail pages. In my app, I have a trigger to create the key of both master and detail.
The error msg apex gives is slightly different in my master/detail on OTN and the msg I get in my local app. Here's the two msgs
From OTN:
ORA-20505: Error in DML: p_rowid=6, p_alt_rowid=ORDER_ID, p_rowid2=, p_alt_rowid2=. ORA-20503: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. current checksum = blah blah blah
From my local app:
Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: Error in MRU: row= 1, ORA-20001: ORA-20001: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. current checksum= blah blah blah
Thanks again for your help!

  • Fillable form missing submit button?

I created a fillable form in Acrobat Pro 9 which  is to be used for data collection on a website, and emailed once completed.  When viewed in a PC based browser, the actual fields are obvious, and the "submit" button is in the upper right corner of the form/page.  When the exact same form is viewed in a mac based browser, the "submit" button is missing, and there is no obvious way to send the form.
    HELP!

This is most likely because Reader/Acrobat is not being used to open the PDF. Certain browsers now have built-in PDF viewers or the document may open in Preview on the Mac. Some of these non-Adobe PDF viewers have incomplete support for forms or none at all.

  • Custom Web Auth - Missing "Submit" Button

I have scoured every topic I can get my hands on here at NetPro regarding custom web authentication. I am currently supporting a customer that MUST use a custom web page for two reasons:
    1. Cosmetically, and rightfully so, they would like to use their own logo. Well, why not just upload the custom image, you say? See point 2...
    2. Their custom AUP is beyond the allowed 2047 characters in the default template.
So I used the default internal template for a test login, and viewed the source to grab the HTML code. I know how to read HTML, so I began commenting out the sidebar, text, and headers that I didn't want. I then inserted the custom logo and AUP text. Visually, the page is fine. However, when I preview the page, the "Submit" button is completely missing. This is true both locally, as well as when it is uploaded to the controller. I also uploaded from the controller the 'loginscript.js' file by selecting file type 'configuration' and inputting the name 'loginscript.js'. I am including that information as well because I know other people have posted asking how to get that, and I haven't seen anyone respond with such instructions. I figured it out on my own after trial and error. If it can be obtained via WCS, it would be nice if someone would post that (other than the same method I used, simply using WCS as the management tool instead of direct controller access). My controller is running code 4.1.185.0, same as my customer's controller. I modified the reference for the javascript source from src="./loginscript.js" to simply src="loginscript.js" because I am putting the script and the login.html file in the same directory. If there is a different directory structure required, I haven't found any documentation saying so other than another NetPro post indicating "Web Authentication_files" folder (whatever that means)? I also noticed that some folks are saying that such a page would have to be run on an External server. If so, why?
    Regards,
    Scott

Web authentication files are stored in Web Authentication_files directory which controllers can recognize. . If you want to use a different directory it is used on External Web server so that there is no conflct in the storage location.

  • Submit button missing from form, can see it in Pro but not in Reader XI

I've created and disributed forms in the past with no problem, however, when I open up my form in Reader XI, the submit button is missing.  In the purple ribbon, it instructs people to click the submit button once the form is complete but there is no button showing.  Help!

  • Submit button missing

Have created my first form and embedded the code in a Dreamweaver page I'm working on. When I test my form within FormsCentre the submit button is there, but when I test my DW page the button (and in fact the whole footer) is missing. Any idea how I can fix the problem?
    Thanks.

How did you embed the form? 1) Did you go to the Distribute tab, click the Embed button, and copy the text from the dialog; or 2) did you copy the HTML source from the actual form. #1 is the correct way to embed a form; #2 won't work.
If you did #1 its possible your embed region size is too small - its cropping the form content.
If you can't figure it out, then provide us the HTML code and we can take a look at it.

  • Submit button missing from forms

    Hello,
I have created a couple of forms using adobe XI, which uses forms central but there is no form submit button on any of the forms. I tried locating how to add a submit button but had no luck. Any assistance is appreciated.

What you need to do is sign-in to your FormsCentral account from within the FormsCentral app that comes with Acrobat 11. With the form open, go to the "Collect Responses Online" tab and click the "Move Form Online" button. After that's complete, a number of new tabs appear. Click the Distribute tab and it will generate an enabled PDF with a submit button at the bottom of the last page and prompt you to save it on your computer.
If you create a PDF form in Acrobat instead, you can upload it to FormsCentral and it will add a submit button in one of several locations of your choosing.

  • Submit Button to submit xml data of form to a server folder

    I have Livecycle ES2 vs 9 on Windows 7.
I have created a form that our users will fill out in adobe reader. I would like them to be able to hit the submit button and it send the xml data to a specified folder on our server.
I created a submit button from from the generic "button", chose to use as a "submit" control type, then entered the servers url as http://<my server name>:<Open Port>/<Folder name on the server>/
I chose to submit as XML data
When I test the button, a box willl pop up saying "Preparing for submit..." then immediatley changes to "Receiving Data".
The problem is that the box freezes on "receiving Data" but I do not need to receive data, I just need to dump the xml data to the folder on my server.
I have used a variety of urls with and without the port#, or without the http: but with backslashes but get the error "An error occurred during the submit process. There was a problem connecting to the server."  I feel the latest URL with the port# is at least closer by trying to communicate with the server.
Not sure what I am missing but I have seen in other forums where some have used PHP code or a servlet but I have no experience with either and the forums did not cover the scripting and where it needs to be placed.
    Can someone help me?
    Thanks

As far as I know you canit simply write a file to the server using HTTP protocol. If your server was set up as an FTP server you coudl use the FTP protocol (but Acrobat does not support that). You can post the file to a server program (as you mentioned a servlet or JSP or whatever your server supports) and it can in turn write it to your server location.
    Hope that helps

  • Hiding submit button from an Infopath form in a Sharepoint Library document

I have a Sharepoint document library that is setup to collect submissions from a form that faces the public.  Because it faces the public it needs to have the standard/familiar submit button.  The problem is that when the form is submitted to the
document library and the document is reviewed, it still contains the button - which will be confusing/complained about by staff.
I attempted to use a hidden boolean field that would switch to "True" when the submit button is clicked and then use conditional formatting to hide the button before submitting through the data connection.  But apparently, there is no way
to move the conditional formatting rules after the action rules that make the boolean swith.
I then tried to switch to a new view that was identical to my Main view before submitting but the button is still appearing on the submitted documents in the form library.
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this?  I have to think I'm missing something obvious.

  • Submit Button Acrobat 9 Pro & Select Email Client Screen

I'm new to Acrobat and creating forms and need help.  I've created a few forms for work using 8 Pro, which have been successful.  I decided to purchase 9 Pro for home and use for our school's PTU membership drive.
I created a form using a Word doc and the Acrobat Form Wizard.  It worked, I adjusted my fields, added a Submit button with mailto:[email protected] as the URL and want to distribute the form as "save and distribute later."  This works.  When I bring up the form for a test run, and submit to myself I get a pop up asking to Select Email Client - do I use Outlook (a few others are also listed) or Yahoo or Hotmail as my email servers.  If I click Outlook, everything is fine, the document gets forwarded to me with no problem (because I use Outlook).  My concern is for members who don't use Outlook (or the others).  They have to go through more steps by saving the doc to their hard drive and emailing it to me as an attachment.  I would really like to avoid extra steps for them.
It there a something I'm missing in setting up my Submit button so it automatically gets emailed to me irregardless as to what they are using for email server?
I have searched for 2 hours and have come up with nothing that I understand.  If you respond, please remember to be clear as I'm not a techno person.
Thanks for ANY and ALL help you can provide.

You are running into some of the classic problems/concerns for new users with forms. I will try to summarize the issues related to your work:
    1. You can create forms directly in Acrobat under the TOOLS menu using the form tools found there, or by selecting the options in the FORMS menu that generally take you to LiveCycle Designer. Questions on the forms should be put to the appropriate forum of these two, since the processing and menus are different.
    2. Having the forms be allowed to be saved (necessary for submitting the full form and not just the data that can be imported to the form) requires Reader Rights to be activated for clients using Reader. This activation limits the form use to 500 uses (check section 15 of the EULA for more details) that could be a problem for you, depending on the school size. If you have the form data submitted and do not activate the Rights, then there is not a limitation. Simply import the XML or FDF file into the form when you get it.
    3. The e-mail submission you have concerns about is valid. If you do not mind getting questions that it would not work on their machine, then fine. The e-mail submission will not work on all machines (PC , MAC, or UNIX). It depends on the client setup (you have no control), historically requiring MAPI to be active (typical of Outlook, but not other packages). In AA9/AR9 there appear to have been some extensions to this, but a lot of folks use version 9. In fact I have a different version that has come on every machine I have and do not have AA9 yet (AA4-AA8), with even older versions lying around some place. A few weeks ago someone checked in who was using AA4. Since I mentioned this problem, the solutions are:
    a. live with it and ask folks who can not submit to copy the info into the body of an e-mail or such.
    b. find someone who can add the proper scripts to a web server to receive the data. The school IT folks (if any) might be able to help there.
    c. submit the data in HTML form through a cgi-mail or formmail server that is available on many ISP servers (you may have to ask). These servers require some hidden fields telling the server where to send the submitted form data.
    Hope that helps. Bill

  • Fighting with Submit Button and Return Address / distributing Forms

I go crazy, too ! We designed some smart forms for a new evaluation process, too, and had a successfully test within our IT collegues. Now we handed the process over to the users, and the problems are on!
We made sure that everyone uses the same version of Adobe 9.1.2 Pro - but not 2 users do have the same results.
We found following 2 major issues:
    1) When opening the _distributed.pdf - users either completly missing the pink bar with  Highlight fields / Submit Form
or, very odd, just the Submit Form button
    2) For those who fortunatly have the Submit Button, another odd thing happens:
The Send form correctly shows the to: address .....
Our Desktop Email Application is Notes...
Guess what .... Now the Email adress changes to [email protected]   ( this worked fine in our testings before...)
Do you have any clue from where this address is pulled ???? We checked the identitity Info in the Adobe installation at the users computers, the email and name entries are correct there.....
    Please help !!!

I am pretty sure the answer is in the script. I have put together pieces of script from other suggestions and I am pretty sure I have ascrewed something up  along teh way. I have looked at the attached link and that is where I got some of the script you see below. I am sure you will refer to me as the hatchet person who chopped the script up. sorry. (It is in the Mouse Up) This does work, sort of...It will give the user the message that the required fields are not filed in if they are blank, but it will send the email, but without the custom message in the subject line.

  • Spry validation issue with submit button

    Hi,
I'm new to Spry but am having an issue getting it to work at all.  I created a very simply form (i.e. table with Spry text field and submit button).  I've read many articles and been to several forums, but I can't seem to find the issue I'm having.  Basically, when I go to preview the page in a browser, the table with the Spy text field and submit button comes up fine, but when I hit the submit button, I see the page refresh and any values I had in the text field disappear, but nothing ever comes up saying "A value is required," which is what I'm looking for. This happens even if I don't have any values in the text field.  Below are images of what I'm describing and also the code.  I verified that the "Required" check box is checked in the SpryTextField and the submit button action is selected to "Submit Form."  My setup is Win 7, DW6, & XAMPP.  Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
    Before Submit Button pressed:
Browser after button pressed: (same as above but no message saying "A value is required.")
    Code:

    <script type="text/javascript">
    var sprytextfield1 = new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextField("sprytextfield1", "email");
    </script>
    </body>
    </html>

Do yourself a big favor and don't waste time with Spry Validation.  Most modern browsers support HTML5 forms with the required attribute.
If you must placate older browsers, use jQuery validate script.  It's lightweight and works when HTML5 support is missing.  You can see an example below. If you hit submit with empty form fields, the required fields pop-up with messages.  View source in browser to see the code.

  • Problems with "Submit" button on simple PDF form.

    Hi there!
I have searched, but perhaps not searching forums correctly to find my answer as this seems like it should be easy to fix (she said hopefully).
I have created a simple, offline PDF form for an event registration.
I have fields all done, set it up to email back a simple FDF from the client with a Combo Box "Submit" button.
When the client fills in the fields and hits "Submit" button, she gets:
"The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder."
I created this in Adobe Acrobat 9.
Client is filling in using Windows XP.
I have extended release, no security, etc.
Is there something simple I am missing?
Have been able to get this to work before.
    But now, not so much!
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

That's not normal. Do you know what version of Acrobat/Reader the other person is using? Can you post the form somewhere? If not, I'd be happy to take a look at it if you are free to email it to me at: acroscript at gmail dot com
