Missing subtitles in MP4-converted film on ATV2

Hello!
I've converted a movie from AVI format to MP4 format to watch it on Apple TV 2 via iTunes.
I've converted the movie in Handbrake and put subtitles in Danish and imported it into iTunes.
When I show the movie in iTunes there are Danish subtitles, but when I show the movie on my Apple TV 2 subtitles are missing.
Can anyone help with what I should do to make subtitles appear correctly on Apple TV 2?
Is there any possibility to avoid the conversion of movies from .AVI format to view them on Apple TV 2? (I want pt. jailbrake not my equipment).

My own fault.
I didn't know I had to switch subtitles on separately in ATV2.
After I did that it works fine. (Even the subtitles are very small- need glasses to see, but that's another problem, I guess).

  • M4v to mp4 converter

whats the best FREE m4v to mp4 converter for mac osx? I have some m4v's that i want to put in iDVD.

That's odd. I was able to find this, which should be able to convert the files. However, it's shareware. http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/ivcd.html I also found this one, which is freeware: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html
I also found this tutorial with a linked download. http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.php?t=293898
I know you asked for free software, but this was all I could find. If you can't find anything else that works you may have to try demos and shareware. Also, I don't know if any of these apps will be able to convert your files, because many video codecs share the same file extension.
I have one more question for you. What happens when you try to use the M4V files with iDVD? If push comes to shove you may be able to import the video files into iMovie and export them to QuickTime or iDVD. However, this may take some time, and it will only work if iMovie can import the files. Good luck and report back soon.

    Ive got MacXDVD coverter.
I dont wanna mess around all day looking for a quality converter.
I ask the gods of video for a high recommendation based upon experience in this arena.

Check the video or audio parameters whether set as same as your original video.
If it always mess your video, you'd better try some better alternatives like iFunia AVCHD video converter or Voilabits video converter ...
    Good luck!

  • Subtitles on .mp4 files

somebody knows how i can put subtitles on .mp4 file?
    thanks!!!

You can't just do it. It has to be included in the video. For example, if the DVD came standard with subtitles, you'd have to copy that version.

  • Is it easy to convert films from dvd to ipad?

H, trying to convert films from DVD to watch on my ipad 2, is there an easy way of doing this? any help would be great, Thanks.

Sorry, but if you're referring to commercial and hence copy-protected video DVDs, breaking the copy protection, which would be necessary to copy the videos from the DVD and convert them, is illegal in the US (and other countries), so we're not allowed to discuss it here.   Some DVDs and Blu-Ray movies come with a "digital copy" that allows you to download a copy of the movie for use on portable devices. You might see if any of the DVDs you have come with such a feature.
If these are home movies that you or someone has burned to DVD and hence are not copy-protected, Handbrake (freeware) is one of the more popular converters. Once converted, you just drag the movie into the iTunes window on your computer and you can then sync it to your iPad.
    Regards.

  • Using iMovie - looking for mp4 converter

    Hi,
I am looking for a .mov - mp4 converter, as I can't open my .mov files from my cam in iMovie.
Does anyone know a good freeware program?
I found Xilisoft and 4media converter, but they are not for free - trial version converts only 5 minutes or if it's shorter only half of the file.

  • How do I activate English subtitles on a French film I rented from iTunes?

How do I activate English subtitles on a French film I rented from iTunes?

Is this music your friend wrote and performed and which you have permisssion to copy?  Not being able to copy media from a phone synced to one library to a computer with a different library is probably deliberate to prevent people from distributing music for which they have not paid.

    It should be under 'Videos'

  • Mp4 converted video file is missing audio codec

I have several avi. files on my computer which were converted to mp4. using videora software. A few of these converted mp4. files then had no audio when I tried to play them on my Ipod. I am confused as to how to add the audio codec back into the video files. Do I have to install this to avi. then convert to mp4., or is there some audio codec which will apply directly to mp4. so they do not have to be reconverted? What is the procedure at this point? Thanks for your help in advance.

First thing to do is find out if Videora supports whatever audio codec the AVI uses.
If it supposedly does, write it off as one of the many bugs with videora and get a different transcoder that supports the audio codec.
Outside of having good knowledge of video production and the right tools-there is no easy way to do what you want.

  • Text Missing when using PDF Convert but OK when using print PDF

I am using Acrobat Pro 9 in Wnidows 7 and Microsoft Publisher 2003.
When I use the CONVERT command to create a PDF - it is missing all of the text on the master page.
If I create the PDF with the PRINT command - everything is OK.
PS: The same Publisher File on another computer using Acrobat Pro 8 works fine -  CONVERT or PRINT and no missing text
I prefer to use convert because sometimes the PRINT command drops some of the hyperlinks.

You're posting in the wrong forum, but you already know that...
In any case, if you're running XP (you didn't supply any info about your environment, which is critical), there's a Microsoft HotFIX patch for PostScript printers such as Acrobat to fix the missing text problem. Do a Google for "Framemaker hotfix missing text" to locate the patch.
