Missing the "get new email" animated circle in 10.8.5

Hi,
since my upgrade to 10.8.5 (to get a more stable OS), I no longer see the circle behind my inboxes when I Get New MAil?
Did I miss a setting to get this animation going, as I have no way of seeing if Mail is actually fetching my new mail

Forget about Apple thinking for us.... I just hate it when features are taken away rather than replaced..
For ten bucks I have my animated gear and wheel back !

No, they will all follow the default setting. If you want them all to fetch, for example every 15 minutes, then set it to 15 minutes in Fetch. I only mentioned the other if you wanted to leave one for manual. I have an account on my phone that is a POP account that I get mail at home from. I let my home computer get this mail, but when I am out of town, I pick it up with the iPhone. That one is set to manual.

because that's how the frame based animation function works, you don't just make a blank frame. If you want that then after you duplicated the frame just hide all the layers. Also, that didn't make a tween, tweening when you have two frames and want to add a couple of frames between them so that they start looking like the first frame and gradually change to look like the last frame. If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad. If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can download updates to its apps.

My Mac pro does not get new E-mail from yahoo, I'm using the Stamp app at the bottom of screen. I can access my E-mail if I go directly through yahoo. Can anyone help.

Mail not getting new email

I have had trouble getting Mail to go and get my new email. I believe that it is a problem with Mail, because I was able to check my mail online through my schools webmail address, and I also created an account on Entourage, and it worked there too. Here is the error message when I try to check my email:
There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account "Steve's ASU Email" or try again.
The server error encountered was: The connection to the server "imap1.asu.edu" on port 993 timed out.
Please let me know if you know how to fix this, thanks!!!

Does your school's email account support and require using SSL for the incoming mail server?
Port 993 indicates use SSL for the incoming mail server is selected.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Advanced tab for the account preferences, deselect use SSL and the port should change to 143 for the incoming mail server if the account is an IMAP type account.
Test if this resolves the problem.

I do not get new emails highlighted or indicated in "Mail" tab on home page

On my home page where emails are listed, new emails were always in bold. No longer. In the upper right hand corner where it has choices, it always indicated how many new emails. Doesn't do that anymore. How can I get those back?

This page does not help . . When I try to get a new key, it asks for me to log in - email address ok, but incorrect password. Request new password . . no email back to enable me to re-set.
I have tried a master reset . . that does not help either . .

Macbook 10.9.2 will not get new email from gmail

I believe I have found a solution to this problem of OS10.9.2 not being able to get my new email from gmail.
Go into Mail Preferences>accounts and select your problem account. Go down to "Outgoing mail server" and select the box "use only this server."
At first I didn't believe this would solve my problem because it's "outgoing" BUT it worked. My new messages instantly began loading. I quit mail and later opened it to see if I would instantly get new messages and it worked.
I was desperate and willing to try anything. Try it. You'll like it.

Getting new email messages

I set up my Yahoo account through the xpressmail button on my Centro but can't seem to get any new messages to show there. When I log into my Yahoo account through the web button I can see tham all. How can I get to see my new emails through xpressmail?

Are you paying for Yahoo Premium? That's the only way you can use an email program to grab mail from Yahoo.
The free webmail is not POP-compliant.

How does the get new coef.vi work??

My labview is 7.0 edition.
The vi is In the directory ... \National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.0\vi.lib\analysis\6fits.llb\get new coefficients.vi . It looks like that the vi can give the new coefficients using some matrix solution method. It is very difficult to study on it because it uses the call library function node.
Can someone tell me what method it use to solve the matrix equation? Now I need it to understand the nonlinear fit vi written by Altenbach.

The only new email that displays today is that from Mozilla. I did the suggested clearing of Cache and Cookies and it did not help.

I am not seeing new emails today in Firefox except the two sent by Mozilla. I am seeing all my new emails on my iphone. I cleared the history for cache and cookies and this did not help. I also tried shutting down the computer and restarting it.

I have an edit button in my e mail account but when I press it I don't get the ''get new mailbox' button. How can I create e mail folders? Thanks.

I want to create e mail folders for my goole account. I go to the account and as suggested in the forum i tap on edit. Then instead of getting at the botton a button that says 'new mailbox' i get 2 boxes one red that says delete and one blue that says move. This is on an ipad 2. I have also an ipad 3 and there it does work. I have checked the settings in both ipads and they seem identical to me.
How can I create the foldesr then on teh ipad 2?

You need to be in the mailbox list for the account when you tap edit.
Sounds like you might be trying to do it from insider you Inbox.

Every 15 minutes is just not quick enough.
I checked the app store & couldn't find an app that would check for mail every minute. Am I missing it?
I know about the potential for battery drain.

Does anyone have an answer to this problem? It's been 4 or 5 days now and iCloud still says I have 0kb of 5GB available, and 6.1GB of mail on iCloud. I guess that's better than yesterday when it said I had 8.3GB of mail. Does anyone know if it simply takes Apple a week to actually empty a mailbox?
