Missing the left hand sidebar in the keychain window

Upon starting my MacBook Pro (mid2009) today running Yosemite 10.10.1 I needed to check something in keychain. To my surprise the keychain window is missing its left hand sidebar, where you see the different keychains you have on the machine and can switch between them. Hence, no chance to switch between keychains. And no chance to toggle the sidebar on or off. Does anybody have an idea how to fix this? I saw similar reports on different forums - but unfortunately no solution.

Deleting preferences can fail to work as expected on 10.10 - the preferences are cached in memory & apps will write them out to the plist file at any moment (restoring what you think you have deleted).
Make sure to reboot, then remove the Keychain Access preferences file when the app is not running.

How about under a new user account? Create one in 'System Preferences > Users & groups' as a test.
If it fails in the test account, try changing languages to see if that alters it, logout between tests.

What is the specific message you are getting?
If it's asking for a password, then enter it and you should be good. If you don't know the password, then I would probably recommend reseting your keychain entirely. Your keychain keeps saved password for certain websites and programs but in my expereince the average user is not tremendously affected by reseting the keychain. It's just a matter at that point of reentering your passwords manually if you've gotten used to them populating automatically.

Missing the viewer window

When I open a new project in final cut pro only the canvas window will show up. I have tried to open a viewer window both with the keyboard short cut and in the tool bar but nothing happens. Is there a setting that would prevent the viewer from opening?

ICal missing the Week window

My iCal is acting strange. The daily and monthly views are functioning, but the weekly view isn't showing at all.
For a brief moment i managed to get the weekly view, but it did not react at all to mouse clicks or anything. There was also a weird 10 cm horizontal line situated some 15 cm down left of the window. I then tried quitting iCal, but it did not allow me to do it and there wasn't even a force quit option there, just the usual quit. Then i tried rebooting: a text saying "iCal prevented you from rebooting the computer". Same when I tried shutting down. I had to force shutdown.
After rebooting, the iCal still works strangely. No weekly view whatsoever. Strange and annoying.
iMac G5 20" 2,1 Ghz (rev. C) Mac OS X (10.4.4) actually 10.4.5.

Solved. I removed all the files with iCal on their name from the user/preferences/ -folder and all files from user/library/application support/syncservice -folder.

All applications are missing the cc window installer is empty

For some reason I am unable to install any of the adobe cc products because the cc installer window opens but it is empty . There are no apps listed .
Any help will be greatly appreciated thank you.

Interesting - I've got three Macs and two of them are as I described, but now I check the third one doesn't have the Applications folder at the user account level.
I guess the OP should ignore by post as I've obviously got it wrong (no change there ). Can't explain why I have the folder on my user account though, even has the Applications icon on it. I'm certain I didn't create it myself - in fact it is empty of any applications as I'm the only user of the machines and actually have no need for the empty folder.
(All Macs are running 10.7.2)

Seeking to restore a selection "desktop" in the left-hand column

Getting 'help' is consistantly hard. This is another case where Help should be easy to an quick to find under "help" troubleshooting in iPhoto. In order to get to this support community I must first get a new apple password because i most certainly did not forget the current one, having recently been forced to make a new password on these dates 9/18/13 - 11/1/13 - 11/30/13 - 1/27/14 - and again today 2/24/14 each time writing down the new forced password as I did the with the dates as you can see. Leaving open the question What is a password?
Next seeking help is also needlessly difficult because I cannot cut and paste the question from previous failed attempts to get help instead having to retype each time. The original question I am after is:
Using iPhoto The selection 'Desktop' went missing from where it has been on the left side column under the title 'Library'. This choice 'desktop' is the item I use the most. Looking under 'Help' I see there is a way to delete but no way to restore or create the selection Desktop which opened a screen showing the current contents of my desktop for further selections.

Are you referring the the Desktop entry in the left hand pane of a Finder window?
as there is no Desktop item in the left hand pane of iPhoto and never has been.

Mail screen fills the whole window

Great granddaughter is visiting and stole my mouse for a few minutes and suddenly a LOT went wonky for a few seconds. But mostly my Mail screen is in full window covering the entire screen. There is a small tab down at the left bottom of my screen and if I click that it brings it up, but, again, in full screen mode. Since I've never had this happen before and can't figure it out, I need HELP!!!! in getting my Mac Mail back to normal size. The little 3 1/2 year old's future depends on it, I'm tellin' ya!!! HOW?????

If the top right hand corner of your Mail window looks like this:
...slide your cursor all the way to the top of the right hand corner, and click on the blue button with the inward facing arrows...
If the upper left hand corner of your Mail window looks like this...
...then click on the right-most of the three buttons under the Apple icon (yours may be green in color and show a + sign when you hover over it).

Search Tab Goes Missing from the Left-hand Menu

Hi, I am using Spotify version 3.1.0.1117 in my trusty Toshiba Thrive (AT100) that runs Android version 4.0.4. I think it has just updated to the latest Spotify version and I notice that after initialising, the Search tab would go missing from the left-hand menu after browsing my playlists and not come back. The tab lists would start from Browse, and so on. Anybody else having similar problem? Any help is kindly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The triangle next to the main Playlists folder is pointing down.
I set up a subfolder for a few streaming radio stations. The missing (and non-missing) playlists have not been put into a subfolder. They are all smart playlists (I don't know if that makes a difference).

Missing Menu Pane on the Left-Hand Side of Window

Why can't I have my bookmarks sidebar restored on the left hand side of my home page?

Prior to the latest update of Firefox I was accustomed to having my bookmarks available and stable on the home page screen. Now the bookmarks are only (it seems) from several clicks of icons and then are not retained on screen. The previous arrangement was "user friendly"; this is less so to a novice.

You can open the Bookmarks in the sidebar via View > Sidebar > Bookmarks (Ctrl+B)
You can find toolbar buttons to open the bookmarks and the history in the sidebar in the toolbar palette and drag them on a toolbar.<br />
Firefox 4 has two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window.<br />
One star button has a drop marker that open a Bookmark menu.<br />
The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.<br />
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

How can I create a document with two columns in which the text in the left hand column flows to the left column on page 2,3 etc, and doesn't interfere with the text I want to place in the right? Pages 5.

I'm using pages 5 and want to comment in a right hand column, on a (latin) text which I wish to place in a left hand column.
Ideally I'd like to be able to copy and paste the latin text and see it flow over into the left hand column on multiple pages.
At the moment it is impossible for me to keep the text only in the left hand column Any help!?

Columns do what columns do, flow from the bottom of the left hand column to the top of the right hand next column. So won't do what you want.
Your tag says you are using OS X 10.5.8 but you say you are using Pages 5 so one or the other is not correct.
If you migrated up to Pages 5 what did you do with your previous Pages '08 or '09?
Because Pages 5 is missing over 100 features, one of which is Textbox linking, that would allow to flow down through a series of Textboxes set up like columns.
What you can do is run the Latin text down a narrow document to the left and add individual Textboxes to the right and put your English translations in those. The Latin will flow but the English will not.

Welcome to the Support Communities!
Do you have the latest version of iTunes for Windows installed? I would turn on the sidebar and the menu bar just to make sure you are seeing everything. If the iPhone is still not recognized in iTunes, follow these troubleshooting steps:
