Missing the Tracking speed slider in Assistive Touch Menu!

I am trying to connect my iPhone 5s with my Car Radio via Mirror Link. It was working well by activating the assistive touch until the slider "Trackingspeed(Zeigerbewegung)" was deleted by IOS!
Why this slider is gone and do anyone know why it doesn't work any more?
Thanks a in advance for your answers.

You can't.

How can I adjust the double click speed in Mountain Lion to reduce the double clicking speed. The mouse system preferences does not seem to have a speed slider for double clicking. Only the tracking speed slider is visible.

For 10.8.3,  it's in System Preferences > Accessiblity > highlight Mouse & trackpad on the left.  The Double click speed slider shows on the right.  Moving it to the left gives you more time between clicks.  Moving it right gives you less time.

  • My Ipod has a broken power button and the shuffle on assistive touch made my ipod frozen...its been frozen for hours

So...I was doing homework on my Ipod then this happened...I clicked shuffle on assistive touch on accident instead of clicking screenshot.Well my IPod suddenly freezes on the assistive touch menu with the gestures, shuffle, screenshot, and multitasking.Im having a really bad day...i just need my IPod back before my homework is due!By the way my power button is broken so i cant reset

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Ignore the reset and when it says place the iPod in Recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:

    or
    http://joshuabailey1997.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/recboot-v1-3/
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    Installs blootware on PC too
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Logitech V270 tracking speed - options?

Well, I bought a Logitech V270 for my MBP today, and I should have listened to the reviews at the Apple store. In a nutshell, the second-slowest tracking speed is far too fast, and the slowest is far too slow.
Do I have any options here, or should I just return the thing? If the latter, does anyone have a suggestion for a better Bluetooth mouse for my MBP? I like the V270, but the tracking speed is killing me.

    Hi dalamar,
You are right about that. This mouse works with Apple bult in BLuetooth. Here is what Logitech says about the V270....
No Logitech software is required to use the V270 Cordless Optical Notebook Mouse for Bluetooth with a Macintosh computer.
In order to set up the mouse on a Macintosh, first turn on your computer and install the 2 AA batteries in your mouse.
    Then turn the mouse ON.
    1) Open System Preferences from the Apple Menu
    2) Select Bluetooth under the Hardware pane
    3) The Bluetooth control panel should default to the Devices tab. If it does not, select Devices, then click the Setup New Device button
    4) Make sure the mouse is turned ON, and press the Reset button at the bottom of the mouse (the "ON" green light should be blinking).
    5) Follow on-screen instructions in the Bluetooth Setup Assistant.
Repeat the steps 1 to 5 if the mouse does not connect the first time.
If the mouse is not working properly, see the “Troubleshooting” section of the Installation Guide.

  • Apple Magic Mouse tracking speed

Is there a reason that every time I restart my 15" 2010 MBP  that system preferences forgets my tracking speed for the magic mouse?  It is very annoying to have to go into system preferences and changer it everytime I do a system restart.  Operating system is the latest Version of Mavericks.
Thank you for any help to answer or resolve this issue.

Thank you I had that program installed and the tracking speed in that application was set slower and was overriding the mouse preference.  Simple Fix.  Thanks again!

  • Trackpad tracking speed settings changes by itself.

Ok, this is only happening whenever I play Starcraft 2 Beta (which is what I'm currently playing on the Macbook), I use a wireless laptop mouse whenever I do so.
I remember a while back I changed the trackpad settings a little higher because I just thought it was a little too slow in the game, but I later reverted to the default settings because I was just used to the old speed.
Now, whenever I open up Starcraft 2 Beta and close the game, the trackpad settings get back to the high setting I had it setup before. How does this keep happening? I want to keep the default tracking speed settings.

While in my case, I got the in-game mouse settings all set to default, mouse sensitivity is set to 50%.
I even tried Cmd+M which minimizes the game, and within the System Preferences change the tracking speed back to the default settings. However, when I fullscreen the game again the setting goes back to high.
I was thinking at one point to open the preferences file in the home directory for Starcraft 2 to see if there was any text file that would have any mouse settings in it and edit to default but wasn't able to find it.
Anyone have a solution to my problem?

  • Mouse Track speed either slow or fast no in between

I changed the batteries in my apple bluetooth mouse and now the track speed is either slow or fast there is no in between

You know, I have. I know there are options in the Bluetooth preference pane to "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" and that usually takes care of it. But, as is the case with me, sometimes the prefs revert to this option being checked so when the mouse sleeps, it wakes the computer because the computer just HAS to notify the user that the Bluetooth mouse has disconnected.
Personally, what I've begun doing is cradling the mouse before putting the computer to sleep. That way, if the software is going to have issue with the mouse being suddenly off, it'll happen before it sleeps. Now if your problem extends further beyond that, where even cradled the thing still wakes your computer, that's a problem I haven't experienced yet...

  • Magic trackpad tracking speed changes

My Magic trackpads tracking speed changes to slow when I log off. I have to reset it when I log on.
How do I set the tracking speed to stay put?

If you use MagicPrefs, some people believe that causes the Magic Trackpad to default back to slowest tracking speed on restart/relog. Have a look at the Magic Prefs preferences pane for the Trackpad and see if you can change the default tracking speed in that instead of the System Preferences pane.
If you don't use MagicPrefs, there is a fix using Terminal for the same problem with the Magic Mouse, and it may work for the trackpad too. I'm adapting this from Tyler Nicols' post on his blog.
    Open a Terminal Window
Enter the following command to see what your current setting is:
             defaults read -g com.apple.trackpad.scaling
This will return a numeric value. To speed up (or slow down) your mouse tracking, you can simply change this number accordingly by typing the following command, replacing the “your_trackpad_speed” with a new number such as 5.0. Notice that read has been changed to write:
            defaults write -g com.apple.trackpad.scaling your_trackpad_speed
    So, for example:
            defaults write -g com.apple.trackpad.scaling  5.0
You may need to restart your mac to see the changes take effect.
Let me know if it works for you.

  • Tracking Speed Setting Not Saving

    Hey MacBook owners, try this:
    * Open System Preferences, click on Keyboard & Mouse, and then click on the Trackpad tab.
    * Set the Tracking Speed so that its on the third tick from the right (or under the second "e" in "Speed").
    * Quit System Preferences.
    * Reopen System Preferences, click on Keyboard & Mouse, and then look at where the Tracking Speed is set: Is it now on the fourth tick from the right (under the letter "p" in "Speed"?).
Well, that's what's happening to me. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but I'm wondering if it's a preferences glitch, or an issue with the trackpad itself.
    Thanks.
13-Inch MacBook, Intel Core 2 Duo (Black); Power Mac G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Mine does the same. Put it on the third tick from the left, and it comes back on the second tick. I just leave mine on "fast" and it stays there.

  • Login window mouse tracking speed

Hi I was just wondering if there was a way to make the tracking speed of your mouse faster on the login window. I have made the speed in my account as high as possible through terminal and was wondering if there was any way to do this for the login window. Thanks in advance.

That's a setting of the root account.
If you're familiar with the setting via terminal for your own account, you might just be able to do it via terminal but for the root account.
Otherwise, you need to enable the root account. Login to the account, adjust the setting, log out, disable root again.

  • Tracking speed changes in a script

Hi there. I found the commands to change the mouse tracking speed with the defaults command (http://fplanque.com/info-tech/apple/make-your-mouse-faster-on-mac-os-x). Which, I'm glad I did because I was going to edit ~/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist (convert to xml first with plutil of course) and hope that would do it. But, it seems as if changing the values here doesn't have any bearing until you log out and log in again. Yet, when you change the value in the System Preference Pane, it occurs right away.
Is there any way I can mimic the System Preferences behavior where it occurs right away? I have two mice (Magic Mouse and a Microsoft Mouse) at home/work and they have very different internal sensitivity levels. I was hoping to make two shell scripts to adjust the tracking speed on the fly, but it appears as though I can't without a log out (which takes significantly more time than using the PrefPane).

Does it have to do with this?

If all you want to do is smooth out bad camera work, use the Smooth Behavior in Motion. Make sure you have Optical Flow selected.

  • Assistive touch disappearing bug

    Hi guys,
I use assistive touch a lot and almost everytime I return to Home screen using the touch home button and immediately press the touch button again to lets say lock the phone, the buttons come up and close again before I press phone->lock device. I end up pressing some app icon on the home screen. If I re-press the assistive touch button it then shows the first choices without disappearing... any ideas why i have to be really slow when using assistive touch or press twice to make the choices steadily come up?
    BR, george

Like me, perhaps you just need to understand the Assistive Touch Menu  better - I could not work out for ages how to get the 'dot' to disappear from the screen. Then I discovered that there is an option to triple click the home button to switch the 'dot' on and off.
I think there is also an option to make the choices come up more or less quickly ..
Though i still havent worked out how to Lock Screen with a single touch rather than 3 separate clicks

they didn't remove it. they just moved it. this option is available in system preferences->universal access->mouse&trackpad.

  • Mouse Tracking Speed

I have found a few articles online that discussed upping the tracking speed on my mouse. I tried this method...
    open ~/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist
and it doesn't stick on my personal machine (details below) but it worked just fine on my work machine, and it's also 10.5.2.
Any ideas? I also tried mousezoom, with no luck. This slow mouse is really killing me.
    Thanks for any help.

    Malcome,
Thanks, I had steer mouse installed initially. Worked flaky on my macbook pro, so didn't bother transferring it to the tower, but I will give it another shot.
    thanks

  • Soft Home & Lock buttons kinda like Assistive Touch

I'm looking for an app that will create buttons that float on the screen like the Assistive Touch buttons do.
However instead of all the features and buttons that Assistive Touch gives you.
I only want a home and lock button.
I picture them being attached together about half the size of the Assistive Touch home button.
But that acts and floats just like the current Assistive Touch button does.
They would simply take the place of the home and lock buttons.
So said another way once installed and turn on you would have two buttons that float on the screen.
That can be moved around on the screen and cling to the edeges of the screen.
When other activities are being used they would become transparent, just as the Assistive Touch button does.
But when pressed they would be as if hitting the home button or the locking the phone, and turing off the screen.
It seems odd that this has not been created yet.
While one is touching the screen for everything else it seems
odd that you would all of a sudden have to reach for real buttons on the unit.

No such app exisits or can exist.  Apple doesn't allow 3rd party apps to access core functions of the phone.  Time to get your phone replaced or repaired if assistive touch doesn't needs your needs.
