Missing time zones

I need to set my Mac to the correct time zone for La Paz, Mexico (in Baja Calif. South). There does not appear to be a setting for this zone. If I click my geographic location, I get Phoenix, and if I click just a bit east, I get mexico city. that leaves out Mexican Mountain and Pacific zones, which are important now because they don't have the same DST change dates as the US. Windows has this one figured out, it amazes me the Apple does not. Is there a secret trick to making this work? If not, is there a way to get word to the developer guys to fix this one? It seems a very basic need for an OS, to get time right.

Click here and fill out the form.

  • Missing Time Zone

The 6120 Classic requires an additional time zone under the Australia setting as its missing. The Zone is +9.5hrs GMT and it is the Darwin (Northern Territory) zone.

6120's used here at work purchased in OZ from Telstra, and my personal phone is also 6120 purchased from Ebay, branded from Singapore.
work 6120 is MISSING Darwin Timezone.
    firmware is 4.21
    personal 6120 HAS Darwin timezone
    firmware is 3.70
Is it a bug introduced with the firmware???

  • Missing "Time zone" tab - Webaccess build #100937

We have installed the new build for GroupWise - build #100937.
When using Webaccess , under "Options" the "Time zone" tab is missing.
The "Time zone" tab was present before upgrading to build #100937.
    Any Suggestions to solve this?

Yeah, that's correct. The problem is if you use ANYTHING to do single sign on (formfill in NAM, or some other web technology), it doesn't pass the java codes correctly, so it actually strips off the timezone code, so you get times that are off by 4 hours.
But the bug is actually in WebAccess, not NAM.
I'm supposedly getting a build to test to see if it's resolved.

  • Playbook is missing time zones after restoring it to factory defaults

    Hello,
I recently factory restored my playbook to OS  version 1.0.8.6067. After the restore I've found that Canada is missing from the list of countries available under Language tab (current Language set to English). Also, pacific time sone is missing from the Time Zone section under Date & Time.
The following countries are available if the Current Language is set to English
    Trinidad & Tobago
    US Minor Outlying Island
    US Virgin Islands
    UK
    US
And under the Time zone list only the following are available
    Eastern TIme (-5)
    Indiana (-5)
    Bogota (-5)
    Mexico City - Old (-6)
    Mexico City - New (-6)
I've restored the device twice with the same restuls as above. Any idea what might ve going on?
    Thanks in advance
    Usup

I have recently encountered this problem myself.  To give a little background, my Playbook was on 2.0 beta and when I recently updated to the full 2.0 I was having some consistency rpoblems with some apps so I did a full secruity wipe.  When my playbook came back up it only a few timezones and none of them were anywhere close to where I live.  This made no sense at all.
After that I did another secruity wipe, which still did not solve the problem.  Then I did a full reinstall using the debrick method using the Blackberry Desktop Software.  Again, when the Playbook came back up, it still was missing the proper timezones.
I'm at my wit's end here, and my research has shown that this issue has come up before and I've never seen anyone come up with a conclusive answer on how to fix it.  If anyone knows anything at all about this please share as this has rendered my Playbook useless.  Manually setting the time is not acceptable because the timzeone will be wrong so any timestamps will be completely off when viewed on other machines or if I sync a calendar then appointments show up at the wrong time.
I am very frustrated but I hope there is an answer here somewhere!

  • N95 - missing time zone

Hello,  I have my time set on auto update, however on travelling to DARWIN NT Australia, there is no Darwin and the phone time updates to the Adelaide time which is an hour ahead due to daylight savings.   Durng non DST Darwin and Adelaide are the same but during DST Adelaide moves fwd an hour but Darwin does not.  The only option is to turn the auto update off. This defeats the purpose of having it.   Advise please to any fix.... or is it a network issue??
    cheers

I live in Alice Springs and it drives me NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!
My N95 had a new screen fitted a few months ago & the software updated, and this summer for the first time it auto updated to SA summertime. The only way around this is to manually set a time, but there is no way to tell the phone we are GMT +9.50 hrs. Whats worse is that I use outlook for scheduling and sync it to the phone. All my appointments are automatically set to 1 hr later than in Outlook on the transfer, so I am 1 hour late for appointments.
I have contacted Telstra and Nokia, but no one can tell me where the problem lies. I think it is Nokia though, because I didn't have this issue last summer and other N95's with old software don't seem to have this issue..
My next phone will be an I-phone, sooner the better if they dont fix this.

  • Time zone EEST is missing

    Hello experts,
We found time zone EEST and CETW are missing.
These 2 time zones do not exist in native table TTZZ.
    But below assigns exist in V_TTZ5;
country: BY - time zone: EEST
country: FO - time zone: CETW
When EEST and CETW are deleted from TTZZ??
We finished upgrade (R/3 enterprise -> ECC 6.0) at the end of last year.
I guess these entries are deleted at that time.
But they dose not exist in R/3 enterprise neither...
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards.
    Emma S

I would recommend to use the customizing report of note 198411 to receive the newest time zone
data and daylight saving time rules. The corresponding data file contains the time zones EEST and CETW and of cause the changes you mentioned above. Furthermore geographical assignments are created
for the missing time zones as well.
The customizing report TZCUSTIM could be started for different clients
and so you do not need to create a transport but just run the report
for the needed clients to have the same data in all clients.
    Thanks,
    Prashant

  • Language time-zone missing info

    Hi,
This is probably a bug or at best smoe missing info in the language support.
If we set a non English locale the dates (name of day and month) are coming in the pecified language.
However the time zone list ignores the locale and returns a string only in English
    for instance:
    MIT, West Samoa Time
    AST, Alaska Daylight Time
    PST, Pacific Daylight Time
    PNT, Mountain Standard Time
    MST, Mountain Daylight Time
    CST, Central Daylight Time
Since those strings are not translated I have sent those strings to Translation centers for translation. They asked me what are the abbreviations so they can be translated. There is nowere to find the info of what MIT stands for , AST stands, PST, MST and CST. I can try to infer it from the names but for this list I have no certitude of being correct.
How many of us translate URL be universal resource locator or uniform resource locator?
    Any idea or help?
    Thank you,
    Adrian

How many of us translate URL be universal resource
locator or uniform resource locator?URL always and only stands for Uniform Resource Locator. "Universal Resource Locator" is a common mistake because it sounds so similar phonetically and conceptually.

  • Indian Time Zone missing from UCM User Time Zone Field

    Hi,
I am using UCM version 11.1.1.3.0.
The Indian time zone option is missing from the User Time Zone Drop down in the weblogic section.
When I set User Time Zone value to (GMT+5:30)Colombo- Sri Lanka Time (LKT) which is same as Indian time zone, the time reflected in UCM is --> System time + 30 minutes
When I set User Time Zone value to (GMT+5:00)Karachi Pakistan Time- (PKT) which lags 30 minutes from the Indian time zone, the time reflected in UCM is --> System time - 30 minutes
How can I get the Indian time in User Time Zone Field (as it is present in other versions of UCM)?

    Hi ,
Download Patch 13503004: UCM 11.1.1.3.0 patch (20120103_1059) from MyOracleSupport portal and upgrade the server .
After that restart it to see if that the IST TZ will be shown .

  • Using Crystal XI R1 , Missing the time zone part of a field

Hello, I have a field in Oracle 10g database which is like this 29-SEP-07 11.00.00 PM US/CENTRAL When i pull this field in Crystal i am getting like this 9/29/2007 11:00:00PM I am missing the Time Zone " US/CENTRAL " How to get this Part into Crystal XI R1? Any help would be appreciated !!

    CA Forum: Formula
    Hi,
The formula is as I stated above. Run it first, and see if the Time Zone is included in the result.
To create and run the formula, right click on Formulas > New Formula > Call it Time Zone > Insert the text above replacing with your date field > Drag the formula to the Page or Report Header > F5 > Yes.
Basically, the idea behind the ToText function is to extract the exact value from your date field, hoping that CR will not truncate the Time Zone. If it does then it means that there is a compatibility problem between CR and 10g.

  • Missing Newfoundland time zone?

I've been going to school in Newfoundland for the past few years. Newfoundland is in its own little time zone, GMT -3:30. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a city in that time zone in the ipod setup. Consequently, I have to change the time as well as the city whenever I travel. Can anyone think of any workaround or solution?

In addition to contacting Apple, perhaps there's one other strategy that might bring the matter of the misssing Newfoundland time zone to a quicker resolution.
If you bring the matter to the attention of your provincial MHA and/or federal MP, they might be able to contact someone in Apple's Canadian office and ask them if there's a particular reason why all Canadian time zones were not included in the iPod. And let the Canadian office know it would reflect well on their corporate residency if they were able to get Apple to address this matter.
I'm not suggesting any government can solve this problem, just that they may be able to make it a bit more prominent on Apple's radar screen.

  • E65 - Namibia Time Zone Missing

I have a new Nokia E65 and need to add a new time zone for Namibia. Currently we are in daylight saving GMT+1 but our normal time zone is GMT+2. Microsoft Windows supports (Windhoek) Namibia time with the correct daylight saving auto settings. How do I add a new city with a new time zome and daylight settings in to the world clock.?

  • Time zone missing

I can't get Yosemite to find my time zone.  I'm on 10.10.3, on a MacBook Pro Retina.  The automatic setting based on location has never worked (although the map finds me exactly - better than my GPS!) but I was always able to select a city in the US  close to me.  Now I can't.  I can't type the city in anywhere that I can find, but only select from a list, and the closest city I can find is apparently in Mexico
So when setting up appointments in Calendar, it gets really strange.  I can either get Central time, or Pacific time - no Mountain time is available.  Kind of a problem, since that's my time zone.  Or I can type in my address and it gives me GMT minus the correct number of hours.
    Help?

  • Effect of time zone change on scheduled appointment times

I have had a Palm Treo 650 for three years. It had its shortcomings, but the calendar was well-designed. I could be in the Pacific time zone and arrange an appointment in New York for 1:00PM on a certain day. When I arrived in New York, the Treo's time had automatically changed to Eastern time and the appointment time was still 1:00PM on the calendar.
I just bought a BlackBerry 8330 because Verizon's network coverage is far superior to ATT's at places where I spend most of my time. The BB has excellent web access and email, but the calendar has a problem. If I were in the Pacific time zone and set an appointment for New York at 1:00PM and then traveled to New York, the BB's time would change to Eastern, but the appointment time would also be changed to 4:00PM. This can be a trap that can cause me to occasionally miss an important meeting. I can't afford this risk. I'm likely to return the BB and look for another PDA.
*My Question: Is the iPhone's calendar like the Treo's or the BlackBerry's?*

Thank you for the quick replies. It is not totally clear to me, but it sounds as though the iPhone may be the same as the BlackBerry. If so, then I have to set a time AND make sure that, at the time the appointment is entered, the time zone is properly set for the location of the meeting. The Treo's meeting time was independent of the time zone that was in effect when the appointment time was entered. There was no special setting for it, but there is a setting to either keep the desired time zone in effect regardless of where the phone was located or to let the network adjust the time zone whenever a trip was made. It automatically took the network time from wherever it was so the clock was always right and the alarm for an upcoming meeting would go off at the proper time even if the appointment was entered while set for another time zone. The statement "Time Zone Support always shows event dates and times in the time zone selected for calendars" doesn't really say how it affects previously set appointments. It will only become clear when someone who travels a lot says how it works in practice.

  • Why is iCal Time Zone Support hidden?

Last week my wife sent me an iCal appointment for 2pm but I received it as 11am. On checking her iPhone she found the same time, 11am. We had both been overseas recently. On our return we had reset our time zones on our iPhone's and laptops to Auto so no problem there. Obviously we were very puzzled.
I then checked the Apple support page and found a lot of people had the same problem with Mountain Lion although I'm running Mavericks.
What I did discover was that in iCal > Preferences> Advanced is hidden a button called Time Zone Support.
Why put it there? And why is it off by default?
We turned it on on my Mac Book and hers then switched it off then on again on our iPhones and low and behold the appointment times changed to 2pm on all our devices.
I don't understand why changing time and date settings or having them on Auto shouldn't adjust all native apps and hiding the setting in advanced preferences just seems ridiculous.
    Maybe that's just me?

I'm not sure how putting something in the user Preferences for an app hides it, but...
And why is it off by default?
I got into an argument with someone about using time zones in Calendar. He only wanted the times to show up as local times regardless of which time zone was selected and what time zone had created the event. I think he actuall missed some appointments when travelling overseas. His assistant had set up the appointments, and when he looked at them before he left, they were listed as late in the day because he was looking at his current time zone.
So, I guess that is why it is off by default.

  • How to "In Effect" Turn Off Time Zone on iCal AND main computer

I am hopeful that this will help those of us who don't want to have any form of Time Zone on our computers or iCal. I read some of the other posts and see that it does not appear an option to completely turn off all Time Zones on the computer and iCal.
What I am thinking about doing, is trying to "Trick" my computer & ical into thinking it doesn't ever go anywhere and thus leaves all of my appointments where they are - no matter what time zone I am actually in.
I hope those of you more knowledgable can please help me see if this will work, or not?
I am hoping that by leaving Time Zone Support turned "Off" in iCal and leaving my computer at a 'manual' Mountain Time Zone (meaning I don't have it set to have it automatically set to the right time - I will set it manually), my appointments will stay put (not move around 8 hours when I go to Italy &/or back to the US)?
I can set the time "manually" to the correct time when I am in either US or Italy so my computer will reflect the current time, but still be set in Mountain Time Zone? Will the alarms still work on calendar events?
The only drawback I can see so far, is that all of the times on emails are messed up (i.e., off by 8 hours) when I am actually in Italy because I still do have the main computer time zone set as Mountain Time - US.
I am willing to live with this (I think?) if it leaves my appointment times alone.
Someone on a similar thread had wanted iCal to function like a paper planner - that is exactly what I am looking for as well! (it looked like that thread was a bit older, so that's why I posted this new question. It is my first on this type of forum, so forgive me if I am doing something wrong - and please advise! :~)
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I am being driven crazy by, what I suppose to be, the same issue. I have used the Time Zone Support feature to somewhat limited success.
I frequently travel between different time zones am confused on how to set up iCal to show the times of my events *in the place where they occur*. When I am in LA and I have a concert in Chicago later in the week, I don't need to know what time the Chicago concert is in LA.
Syncing my Treo 650 adds another problem. Publishing the calendars adds another as the published times are not listed in the time zone where the events occur but rather what time zone my laptop is in.
This seems simple to me, but I may be missing something. Here are my wishes:
    1. As I travel with my MacBook Pro that I can change my Date and Time preference to actually list the time zone where I am. Easily done...but...
    2. That the event times in iCal are unaffected by the changing of the Date and Time preference adjustment...(after all the concert in Chicago is still at 3pm on Friday, even if I am in Tokyo on Monday. I need to know the time of the Chicago concert in Chicago time, not Tokyo.)
    3. That calendars that I publish list the time in the place where the event occurs. I have students that need to know their lesson times but are consantly confused because the published times reflect whatever time zone I happen to be in...not where the lessons take place.
    4. That when I sync my Treo the event times automatically adjust to whichever time zome the treo picks up off the network time server. When I land in a new time zone, I need to know the the rehearsal starts at 10, in the city where I have just arrived.
I have recently switched to the Apple PIM apps from Entourage...where, if I never changed the time zone, everything was fine.
Sorry for the longish cry for help.
    Thanks
