Missing tool in DW CS5.5?

Today, when I moved my css-template from FW into the DW, somehow a div (mainContent) disappeared. I remember, that in the earlier versions of DW CS4, there was an option on the toolbar that allowed to draw div- tags manually. But in the DW CS5.5 I miss it! Did Adobe removed that option, or is it just on another place?
In case it doesn't exist anymore, ho to I can fill the empty space (its like a hole in the middle of the page) with a div- tag, since the "start on point" and wrapping options does not work for me in this case?

in the earlier versions of DW CS4, there was an option on the toolbar that allowed to draw div- tags manually.
No, there wasn't.  There was an option to draw absolutely positioned divs manually.  There's a huge difference.  In CS5.5 you can do something similar with INSERT | Layout Objects > AP Div, but that will insert an absolutely positioned div that is already sized.  Changing the size/position is a simple matter, however.
You should know that absolute positioning is like an elephant's graveyard for inexperienced or non-coding users.  DO NOT use this unless you understand how absolute positioning works and what the major disadvantages are when it's used to layout a page.

Next time you don't have to go to your Keyboard Shortcuts to find out where the different tools are. Some tools are hidden beneath others. Where you see a small arrow like thing (called a tear-away icon) at the bottom-right of a tool, it means there are other tools lying beneath it. Press & hold on a tool having a tear-away icon to reveal other tools. Eg.,

  • How do I get back PHOTOSHOP TOOLS in Bridge CS5.1?

I used the PHOTOSHOP option under TOOLS in Bridge CS5 all the time.  I upgraded my InDesign to CS5.5 and with it I was automatically upgraded to Bridge CS5.1 but now ther is no longer a PHOTOSHOP option under TOOLS.  When I try to open the older Bridge CS5, it automatically opens CS5.1.  How can I get back the PHOTOSHOP option under TOOLS in Bridge CS5.1?
Thanks for any information you might provide.

How can I get back the PHOTOSHOP option under TOOLS in Bridge CS5.1?
It seems related to the different versions and their start up scripts. First check Bridge Preferences Start Up Scripts has a PS script showing and see if the checkmark in front is checked. If not you have to copy the old script in the new location. Not sure if this works and without knowing if you have a Mac or Windows. For a Mac there is library at root level (so not in the user account).
Here is the path: HD/Library/ Application Support/ Adobe / Start Up scripts. You probably have two folders, one called CS5 and one called CS5.5. Try to copy (copy, not move) the Photoshop script to the CS5.5 folder and try if that works. Theoretically Bridge 4.1 (that comes with CS5.5 - yes it is a bit confusing) should recognize the scripts. And basically Bridge 4 (CS5) and Bridge 4.1 (CS5.5) are the same. But If you set Bridge 4.0 it will probably not recognize the new InDesign start up scripts.

  • All tools in Photoshop CS5 not moving smoothly (only making dots instead of lines)

All my tools in Photoshop CS5, including the brush, eraser, healing brush, etc. are only making dots, instead of drawing smooth lines. When using the brush tool, for example, if I click down and drag my mouse to draw something, only the initial dot for where I clicked down gets colored in. Does anyone have any ideas as to why?

Does anything jump out to you that could be causing this problem? Also, my lasso tool doesn't work properly as I can't drag anywhere. The move tool also doesn't work properly. I can click down and drag a layer, but after I release my click, the layer moves back to its previous position. The only way to move any layers is by free-transforming them.

If you mean that the Details section is no longer visible, then right-click on one of the other section titles like Basic or Tone Curve, etc, and put a checkmark next to Details.
If you mean that the Details section title is visible but you can’t see the sliders, then just click on the little triangle next to Details to expand the Details section to see the various sliders for Sharpening and Noise Reduction.
If neither of these is what you’re taking about, then please show us a screenshot of the righthand panel in Develop.

  • Text tool in Photoshop CS5? Help!

Whenever I try to use the "Text" tool in Photoshop CS5 it freezes on my Mac laptop and I have to force quit losing all of my work if I haven't saved. Help please?!

There's some confusion on your part.  Apple's Font Book is just a standard, integral part of the OS, and it gets installed with every installation of the OS.
There's a different application called FontBook (no space) by Lemke software that would not interfere with anything.

  • Missing tool buttons on Property Inspectator

I'm using Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 and having trouble with missing tool buttons within the property inspector. These icons, such as the Italic button, disappeared. I know, crazy right?! I feel i must have pressed something to make them disappear. Can anyone out there tell me how to get these button icons back on my property inspector. Please!

It's definitely not the HTML button. I wish it was that simple. It is also not because it's a different version because I looked on screen examples of CC 2014.1 and it has these buttons for sure. Thanks for trying though.

I'm trying to enlarge tools of photoshop CS5 on a surface can anyone help?

Looks like you are talking about HiDPi monitors. If so, then you can try to adjust your screen resolution and check if that helps.
Please provide more details for further help.
An error screenshot would help along with OS details.

  • DPS Tools for InDesign CS5 / CS5.5

    Hi everyone.
Can't find download link of DPS Tools for InDesign CS5 / CS5.5. on Adobe site.
We plan to use CS5/CS5.5, cause we use  WoodWing Enterprise in production.
Anyone can help us to download latest builds for CS5/CS5.5?
    Thanks
    Thanks

    Hi Tomek
I know about that, but WoodWing customer can still use InDesign CS5/CS5.5.
    Quote from dps-faq-indesign5and5.5:
    >>>
How did this product change impact me if I am a WoodWing or vjoon K4 customer?
WoodWing and vjoon K4 pure EWS customers see no impact. WoodWing and vjoon continues to work for InDesign CS5 and CS5.5, however the creation of folios will be capped at v31. Pure refers to the vjoon customers using only the vjoon K4 user interface that do not also use the folio builder panel.
Hybrid WoodWing and K4 customers (those that do not disable Folio Builder panel and those using the Overlay Creator panel) are impacted. The Folio Builder Panel no longer functions in CS5 and CS5.5. v31 will be the last release for Overlay Creator panel and the Digital Publishing plugin for CS5 and CS5.5. There will be no updates or bug fixes to the Overlay Creator panel or Digital Publishing plugin for InDesign CS5 and CS5.5.
    <<<
So we  need to download  v.31 tolls.
Could you help me  with that?

  • CS5 missing tool bar

Hi, This is what my screen looks like. I cannot get the toolbar despite countless Google searchs and requests.
I have tried using a new workspace, I have tried tab, and esc then tab. I have tried other things, although as I was following instructions (and I've been doing this for the past two weeks) I'm not sure what they were. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Rather than continue a private message converstion in parallel, we should also be continuing that here.
Your last message said this worked inthe summer. Have you updated the Operating system to a new version since then? I don't recall if you said you had replaced the prefs. If not, see Replace Your Preferences
There is enough stuff that you say you cannot find in the ID menus to make me think the program is damaged and you need to reinstall, but before we go that far, lets also try creating a new account on the mack and log in with that, then see if ID is working properly.

  • Missing Tool Palette

Really feel silly asking but . . .
Just upgraded to CS 5.5 from CS3. Can't seem to find the tool palette (slection arrows, type tool, etc.)

    Hi Peter;
When I first installed CS5.5, I set up my Workspace and saved it. Now when I invole it, the tools are still missing.
I'll try your suggestion in my other post.
    Thanks;

  • How to tell what fonts are missing in a Photosohp CS5 document?

Hello!  I have received some work from a graphic designer.  I need to modify some of the text in the document.  When I open the document I get an error message:
Some text layers might need to be updated before they can be used for vector based output.  Do you want to update these layers now?  [Update] [No]
If I click [Update] it replaces the font with Myriad Pro.  If I click [No] the text looks the way the designer intended, but I have the exclamation mark-triangle symbol over the layer with the text.  If I try to edit the text I get another warning:
Editing or rendering the text layer "Text Layer" will cause its layout to change.  Continue?  [Cancel]  [OK]
The same behavior described above occurs.  If I click [Cancel] I obviously can't edit the text.  If I click [OK] it changes the font to Myriad Pro.
I would like to determine what font the layer is using.  I could swear that previous versions of Photoshop would tell me what fonts were missing when I opened a document.  I can't use the text tool to select the text without it changing the font.  Other posts have mentioned using the text tool to look at the text drop-down to find a greyed-out font which indicates the missing font.  I do not have that.  I only have perhaps 200 fonts installed.  Can anyone tell me how to determine what fonts a .PSD document is using?  I would prefer not to bug the graphic designer if possible.  Thanks much!
    ~ Dan

Not sure why you are getting ""Font is present on the system but requires a layout change.", usually you do not get that instead the name of the font shows.
We use extensis Universal Type Client, so the fonts load automatically upon opening files, and never really get missing fonts in Photoshop.
Actually fontbook has auto font loading if you want to give that a try. Fontbook >> Preferences
