Missing Toolbar- Not in default toolbars

''locking as a duplicate - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/786115''
When I installed Firefox 3.6, there was a 4th toolbar- underneath the default Bookmarks toolbar. this toolbar had all the plugins like; youtube, music, recent news etc. I was messing around- trying to hide one of the icons on the toolbar- but the whole bar disappeared. I can't find a checkbox that will turn it back on, and it doesn't seem to be a part of the default toolbars. Although it's not vital, this was a really useful feature and any help would be appreciated.

  • Add on toolbar appears but add ons don't, and new customized toolbar appears only when customize window open - toolbar not named in toolbar list?

I have used View=> Toolbars => and ticked off all the toolbars that I want to appear. BUT the add on toolbar shows up blank (i.e. toolbar but no add ons). AND the new customized toolbar I created is not even listed in the available toolbars to tick off or not. The only way I can get it to show up (but not to function) is by clicking the customize button. The toolbar remains open only so long as the customize window does, and I can add/remove/rearrange icons, but not use any of their functions (eg. I added a new window button to the custom toolbar but when I click it of course nothing happens, because another window -- the customize window -- is still open). I need some way of locking this toolbar so I can access the buttons to use them please!!!
Btw am using Windows 8 and just switched from IE (and fearing I'll have to switch back again...)
    Tnx so much.

Only certain add-ons actually make use of the add-on bar. Quite possibly none of yours use the add-on bar.
As a test Install something that is known to use the add-on bar you can always uninstall it or disable it afterwards.

  • I have accidentally installed the Nectar toolbar as my default tool bar. How can I reverse this and revert to the Firefox toolbar as my default toolbar

I have installed a toolbar which has been customized for Nectar.com. I do not like this arrangement and want to revert to the usual Firefox toolbar. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and this has not worked.

Sorry, I'm baffled. If you install an add-on, and let Firefox restart, and the add-on is not there, that could indicate a problem with your Firefox profile. You might want to try creating a new profile, import your bookmarks, and install the add-ons again.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
You can create a new (blank) profile using the Profile Manager: [http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles].
To move key settings like bookmarks from your current profile to the new profile, see: [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile Recovering important data from an old profile].
    Hope this helps.

  • Forward/Backword/Stop missing rather not shown in the toolbar

Especially the mentioned items above are further missing even everything done what is described in "Back and forward or other toolbar items are missing"-support note. These items appear only during customization of the toolbar. The "disappearance" is independent from installed add-on's (both options tested).

  • How can I set default toolbar layout for all users in my system?

Hi everybody! I am running a local ubuntu server at my office. I can set some defaults preferences (about:config) for all new users in the system by defining those prefs in the /etc/firefox/syspref.js.
Now, I want to define default toolbar layout in a similar way (maybe not needed but fun), to copy the toolbar layout for my user. Is there a general way to do that?
    thank you in advance!

You can try to create a default template folder (defaults/profile) in the Firefox and place the file(s) in that folder for newly created profile.
The only way to customize an existing profile is to copy files directly to it.

  • Safari 8.02 (Yosemite 10.10.1) will not save customized toolbar after closed.

Running Safari 8.02 on an iMac (Yosemite 10.10.1) and it will no longer save the my customized toolbar.  It will save it for the session during which it is set.  However, when I close it, the toolbar resorts to the default toolbar when the next time Safari is opened.
I was also having trouble with it remembering the home page (it would default back to the apple page), but I appear to have that finally fixed.  Now I just need to figure out the toolbar issue.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Show Info in Finder (or just Show Info)
from the contextual menu.* An Info dialog should open.
☞ Does the dialog show "You can read and write" in the Sharing & Permissions section?
☞ In the General section, is the box labeled Locked checked?
☞ What is the Modified date?
If you don't have read and write access to the item, change the settings as directed here. Note, however, that if one file has wrong access settings, most likely others do as well. If the item is locked, unlock it.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Open a TextEdit window and paste into it (command-V). Select the line you just pasted and continue as above.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Mountain Lion Toolbar not displaying properly

    Hi all,
I'm running Mountain Lion 10.8.2 on an iMac with Preview 6.0.1 (765.4). In Preview, I cannot see the icons on the toolbar buttons. The toolbar buttons are there and functional, but their identifier icons are blank so I cannot tell which button does what without guessing. If I go to edit toolbar, those configure buttons also come up blank. Quiting are restarting Preview does not help. All my software is current and there are no updates availible. In ~/Library/Preferences I only have these Preview files:
    com.apple.Preview.LSSharedFileList.plist
    com.apple.Preview.SandboxedPersistentURLs.LSSharedFileList.plist
    com.apple.automator.Open_in_Preview.plist
    Any ideas?

    Hi macjack,
I actually don't have a com.apple.Preview.plist in my ~/Library/Preferences/ and am wondering if that is causing my issue. After quiting Preview and opening the program again, the file doesn't get created. I'm not sure why I am missing that preference file as I never deleted it.

  • How can I restore the default toolbar in Ilustrator CC?

I can't restore default toolbar to my workspace, I tri to create a new tool but for some reason I can't drag any tool into toolbar. Maybe is something wrong in my software o just me?

Thanks so much for taking the time to write that out for me Barbara .  The first suggestion didn't seem to do anything at all, but the second suggestion helped a little, and restored some of the original view.  The thing is, I'm pretty sure (but not positive) that the first button I pressed, which was to the bottom right of the main working area, was a screen mode button, judging from the screem mode icon that appears when I use Google images.  It happened quick, so I can't be sure, but it seemed to enlarge the working area and maybe removed buttons or something.  Do you know if there are any screen shots anywhere that I could maybe see what the default is suppose to look like?  Thanks for your help.

  • Safari 4 - Customize Toolbar not being remembered.

Okay so I downloaded the new Safari 4, and as always found that I really don't like the default toolbar mainly cause the home button is never one of the default buttons among other ones.
I do the old control click, and customize toolbar.
I set it up exactly how I want.
At some point I quit Safari, the next time I open Safari the toolbar reverts back to the default Safari toolbar, so every time I open up Safari I have to reset my tool bar, or just don't quit safari.
There has to be something I'm missing here.. Anyone know what is wrong and why I have to keep doing this every time I open up Safari again?
    -Stuart

    Hi Stuart
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
May be a corrupted preference file. Via the Finder: move the com.apple.safari.plist file to the desktop and restart Safari. You can find this file in your User Account>Library>Preferences folder. Restart Safari.
This resets Safari preferences to default values. You'll need to reset any custom preferences settings, as well as any special settings in the Edit (spelling) or View menu (custom icons, status bar, etc.)
Also, reset the toolbar to your liking. Quit/restart Safari.
