Missing User Field in Disable Individual Accounts section

We are running on Vibe 3.4.0 build 2835. We have a couple of issues here that has to do with managing users in Vibe. We use LDAP to populate our user accounts in Vibe. Being in a university, our users come and go a lot. They get disabled and re-enabled in eDirectory. When a user gets disabled in eDirectory, they get disabled in Vibe too. When the user comes back and is re-enabled in eDirectory, their account in Vibe does not automatically get re-enabled. I have to go into "User Accounts" in the "Administration Console", select the "Disable/Delete Accounts" tab, locate the disabled user and check the box beside the disabled user, scroll all the way down the list and hit the "Enable Selected Accounts" button. We ask the enabled user to try and login to Vibe and they get a "login failed" error message, even when I do a search of the user in Vibe and their account shows up. This is problem 1. So, next thing I do is to delete the user so I can re-synchronize the user back into Vibe through LDAP sync. The Vibe 3.4 Administration Guide (page 177, Deleting Individual Accounts, item 6) indicates that there is supposed to be a User Field where I can type in the name of the user and I would be able to select the user from the drop-down list that is supposed to appear. I do not see this "User Field" where I can type in the user's name. This is problem 2. So, I end up having to go to the "Select From All Accounts" section, go from page to page until I find the user to delete. Deleting a user in Vibe takes such a long time for us because we have thousands of users and it takes very long to go from one page to the next to get to a user who's first name is towards the end of the alphabet. If the "User Field" existed as the guide indicated, then it would not be such a big deal to delete a user. Even better, if the account were re-enabled in Vibe and the user is able to use it. Or even much better if the user's account in eDirectory were enabled and the account in Vibe were automatically enabled when an LDAP sync is executed. Would appreciate any information in getting this process of re-enabling users in Vibe working better for us, and help in getting the missing User Field to show up. By the way, I've tried this on Chrome, IE, and FireFox and everything I've described here works the same way on the different browsers, including the missing field.

    Hi Bahar,
    have a look into the ume directory. There is a file called sapum.properties.bak.
    Edit the file and check if the entry for ume.supersuer.activated (or similar) is set to true.
    Rename the file to sapum.properties and restart the portal

  • How to disable individual field of a search view

    Hi All,
    Is there a way to disable individual search field of an advance search view ?
    The reason for this is that for a particular search field I am defaulting the value and do not want the user to be able to change this default value, in effect filtering out their search.
    I have tried get_i method but the advance search (thtmlb:advancedSearch) does not seem to trigger the get i method, disabled just disable every fields likewise the global edit/viewgroup context.

    I checked it now and found that the GET_I_FIELD is not getting triggered. Sorry for my wrong solution.
    You can use the rt_result parameter in GET_POSSIBLE_FIELDS method in IMPL class.
    It returns the search fields visible in the view.

  • Disable changing accounts 'Full Name' field

    Just wondering how to disable users from changing their AD accounts 'Full name' field in the Users & Groups preferences.
    We need there mac account name it to be their actual Active Directory name but right now they can change it to anything they want, including Emoji characters which can't be read on anything else.
    /private/var/db/dslocal/nodes/Default/users/username.plist
    This has the key of RealName which is the name they can change from System Preferences.
    Is there a way to stop them changing the name?

    Hi,
    Use transaction OME9, select Account assignment category Q. There you will see various fields so make General Ledger Account Optional Entry. Now, you will be able to edit GL account at PR, as long as I think.

    I dont think there is possibility to change the account assignment data in PO/PR which is coming from Project System Module. What ever the changes you wanted to do same you should do it at WBS/ Network/ Material component level only, not in MM directly.
    Same rule applicable to certain fields say quantity etc in PR which are created automatically from material requirement planning run through PS.
    Changing in OME9 settings will help you to permenantly change the account assignment settings but not for transaction wise.

  • Customer master recon account field is disabled

    Hello folks,
    The recon account field in the customer master field is disabled, wouldn't allow me to enter the recon account.
    Don't know how it happened.  I was able to do that before, I have few customers with valid recon account.  Even when I try to copy those customers, it wouldn't copy the recon account.  Any ideas, greatly appreciated.

    Dear,
    There could be two reasons.
    1. Use transaction OBD2 and check the field of your customer group whether recon account field is not surpressed or display.
    2. Use transaction OB20 and check the field status per activity.

  • Missing user accounts in system preference pane 10.6.1?

    (I hope this isn't posted under another topic already..)
    After reading a post on another site about missing user data in Snow Leopard (http://bit.ly/3wf3v7), I decided to do a little digging on my own machine to see if I'm experiencing any of the same issues..
    First of all I'm not readily experiencing any particular bugs since upgrading from 10.5.8 to 10.6.1, but I did notice the following:
    -my usual admin user account (me) did not show any other user accounts on the machine in the system preference pane.
    -I have fast user switching on, and when I select it the account name at the upper right corner of the screen, it shows all of the accounts that the sys pref pane does not.
    -a quick look at my finder reveals on the root level that all of my user accounts are intact as well.
    -I switched to another admin account on the machine, and it loaded up fine– upon opening the sys pref on the other admin account, I was able to see all of the other active accounts on the machine in the accounts pane.
    -note: the guest account is deactivated, and I've not logged into a guest account since upgrading to 10.6.1.
    So my question is: why doesn't my primary user account (obviously an admin account) see the other active accounts in my sys pref accounts pane, but my other admin accounts do? Not a huge deal, but at some point I'll need to make account changes from my user account in regards to the other user accounts and I'll need that functionality at that point.
    -note: I've lost no data to my knowledge and I have a TM backup drive active.
    Any thoughts from my fellow Mac Geniuses?

    Creating an account named abc did not bring back my previous accounts. I had installed Snow Leopard on my iMac several months ago. My hard drive was damaged by SnowLeopard family pack install disk that I was using to update my daughter's Macbook on Friday. When I opened my Mac in target disk mode, there was no system folder on the hard drive. I started to install 10.5.8 so I could use my iMac-didn't get it finished before going to work. Bought a new Snow Leopard install disk on the way home, cancelled the uncompleted install of 10.5.8, and the iMac booted up like a new machine.
    All my files are there, but the only user available is the one created while booting up. Migration assistant doesn't see the user accounts on the iMac hard drive.

  • Added user field to CJI3 - missing in column set until post

    We added a user field to the CJI3 report using these instructions:

    We added a user defined field in our WBS structure, PRPS-USR001, to the CJI3 report.
    On page 8 it says that once the change is made, the column will become availble.  We haven't found that to be the case.  What I found was that the field does not show up until 1) there is a value in it for a project and 2) there has been a new posting to that particular WBS element.
    So it appears that after we update the master data for the particular WBS on each project, we will not be able to use the data in CJI3 until there is a posting to that WBS element for each relevant project.
    Is there any way to "activate" or "push" SAP such that once the master data is updated in the project it is available in CJI3?  Or do we have to wait until something has been posted to that WBS?  Historically there are postings to the WBS but it doesn't appear in CJI3 until there is a new posting since we updated the field.

    cji3 is the actual cost/revenue line item report of ps. In order for the new column to appear you need to satisfy both pre-requisites:
    1.actual line item in your wbs
    2.the user field to have a value.
    If you satisfy just one of the pre-req's i am afraid you will not get it in your cji3 output.

    Managed metadata is configured and I am able to access and add terms, etc. I am able to go to the User Profile Service in Central Admin and update the managed metadata fields such as "Ask Me About", "Past Projects", "Skills",
    etc. However, when I go to the My Site host and try to edit my profile there, I get the error:
    There was a problem retrieving data for this field. Updating values in this field is disabled temporarily. You can still update values in other fields.
    Managed Metadata Service is available:
    I am able to go to the Managed Metadata service in Central Admin, add terms, etc.
    Service Connection settings:
    Checked - This service application is the default storage location for Keywords
    Checked - This service application is the default storage location for column specific term sets
    Editing profile from My Site host:
    Ask me About: There was a problem retrieving data for this field. Updating values in this field is disabled temporarily. You can still update values in other fields.
    Edit the same profile in Central Admin works fine:
    Ask Me About: No error, able to add data.
    All the solutions for this error that I have been able to find are not working, but they are for when the managed metadata service is inaccessible, or the fields cannot be updated in Central Admin either. I've recreated both the User Profile
    service and the Managed Metadata service. Any ideas?

    Based on your description, you should use the different service accounts for your CA web application and MySite host site web application, since "Ask Me About" is working for CA but not for MySite host site, the service account for MySite may not read
    and write managed metadata term store.
    please check and make sure your MySite web application service account is added in the Managed Metadata service application with permission "Read Access to Term Store" and "Read and Restricted Write Access to Term Store", then it should work.

  • Field get disabled on roundtrip

    CLEAR_HEAD/ClearCaseEF
    field: Case->STRUCT.PRIORITY
    do not have GET_ implement by default. In the UI (CLEAR_HEAD/ClearVS ), when the user clicks on Business partner ID in the BP list, the BP popup opens. After closing this popup, the priority field mentioned above gets disabled.
    I did debug and understood that since framework didnot find any lock on underlying object instance so its set to read only. After doing some action, eg. cancel on UI the feild turn input enabled.
    Please suggest how to solve such issue?
    in shot-> open the case from search result: Field is enabled. -> Launch BP from the link in BP ID and close it-> field becomes disabled.

  • Disable resource account via Workflow

    Hello I created a transition in the Update User workflow to disable a resource account if a field is indicated in the admin tabbed user form.

    After having a chance to actually look at the documentation I figured I'd add one more thing for those who happen to stumble across this in a search later. You are, of course, right. The services argument is what you need for disable user.
    For others reading this I should correct my previous posting. The "TargetResources" setting tends to be more of a form property rather than a workflow argument although it can be used with the checkoutView and checkinView workflow services. It is recommended by Sun, in the performance tuning guide, to keep views as small as necessary in order to speed things up.

  • Disable Individual Participant Audio in Breakout Rooms?

    As a host I cannot disable individual participant audio in breakout rooms.  Or can I?  I can't see how to do this.
    This is necessary, as there is always one user who is using speakers and creating terrible feedback problems in the room.  The ability to disable audio on a per-user basis during breakouts would allow me to find the offending user and force them to use chat.
    Am I missing something?

    I believe in Breakouts, everyone has Presenter Status and presenters automatically have microphone rights. We could build a pod that allowed a host to remotely turn another user's microphone on or off, or in this case, mute their speakers.
    A custom pod from Refined Data would probably fix the problem but unless this is a regular issue it might be using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
    Would it not be easier to just ask everyone in the breakout in the same physical location to turn down or mute their speakers except for one person?

  • Enabling / Disabling Email accounts during working Hours

    All,
    I have my work email and personal email coming in to the same account under Mail. I am finding on weekends i am getting new email into my work account (nothing abnormal there) but worst i am reading and responding to them - i.e. should be enjoying the weekend not working but the self discipline is lacking and temptation to read them is just too much!
    i would like an automatic way to either exclude the work email being received during Sat / Sun or find a way (thought about script excuted from iCal) that could disable / enable work email Friday night / Monday morning. Either that or any configurable app that allows me similiar control over the accounts
    Any ideas on best ways to acheive.

    Sorry for clarification - i have two email accounts, both going into a single Mail under a single user login; ones a .Mac account, one's an IMAP account connecting to work.
    They already both go to individual mail boxes so i don't need to set up rules to split, the issue i am trying to get around is avoiding looking at new email that arrives in my work email box during the weekends.
    Please don't get me wrong, its an irritation i would like to avoid rather than a system critical issue so refinement being the objective purely with geek-hat on rather than desperate-user.
    Any thoughts on solving welcomed!

  • G6: Dealing with disabled AD accounts

    Hey folks! I have an AD auth/profile source and am finding that it pulls back all users from whatever group I've allowed. The issue is that our IT department flags an account as disabled when someone leaves the company rather than deleting the account or moving it to a specific group/container.
    SO! I'm trying to setup the auth/profile source to ignore these flagged accounts. I've done some reading into various queries that can be run and it looks like this query SHOULD do the trick, but for whatever reason it works in the AD query tool but not in plumtree:
    (&(&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=user))( !(userAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2)))

    I realize the example looks slightly different from the one I've tried, but my IT guys are telling me its correct.
    The only thing that is currently helping me to identify these disabled user accounts is pulling a field called userAccountControl, which displays 514 for disabled users and 512 for regular accounts.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi Gerald, I'll check with them on what tool they are using. As for the portal end, since I am only in development I have been able to delete all user accounts (with the exception of developers) and then I clear the profile sources and set the groups/folder path up again and do the import.
    I also tried the query your way and was disappointed that it didn't work that way:(I'm going to keep playing with it because somehow it needs to be solved!
    I did find an attribute from a users profile that I can get from the profile source, but I'm not sure how I would be able to use that to "discard" the user. The goal here is to prevent these users from coming back in a search.
    I'll try the query again on monday its well beyond work hours now:)
