Missing workbook text elements

Hello,
After upgrading to BI7 we are experiencing an issue with the missing text elements. We use workbooks with a sheet to receive the query and then a macro to reformat the query to user display form. The query sheet generally has a text element area and then a data area. When building the workbook we select the text element object and turn on all the text elements, this makes debugging easier and sometimes the text elements are used in the end report. Randomly after saving the workbook the text elements are turned off and on subsequent executions they are not displayed. The workbook then requires modifications to turn on the text elements, save the workbook and then transport.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

After some testing of the fixes that were applied we are still experiencing the issue with disappearing text elements.

I am unable to see "Text Elements" in Workbook which is migrated from BW3.x to BI 7.0.
I am using Windows XP, MS-office 2007, GUI 710 FEP5.
workbook is working fine with Bex 3.0
I had checked all the pre- requisite for BI 7.0 and BEx .

This is an Known issue while upgrading WB's to BI7 and we have posted the same to SAP.
Try this procedure,
Open your 3.x Wb in BI7-bex - Click okie on Bex upgrade popup.
Click on change variables in your WB now and enter necessary variable values.
Now save you WB in BI7-Bex . Try re opening the same WB,
You have to see your text elements now after refresh.
if u save the same WB, w/o refresh or change varaibles, you will again miss text elements.
The below is the reply from SAP.
" As following to our call, I was able to open the workbook sap_test2( test WB that SAP has created in our system to replicate the problem) and to refresh it in the latest patch 17. However after saving it without
refreshing it, I was not able to open the workbook. so we are investigating the issue.however as temporary workaround you can the following
1. Eenable the "Refresh workbook on open" property. this will prevent
user from saving workbook without refreshing
2. You can apply a ABAP note which disallow users to upgrade 3.x
workbooks. But the note is currently in pilot released."
Ohoo, I think you are from Satyam..the above is the latest info that we got from SAP.

After Saving Workbook Text Elements are All Blank

I created a query, made some adjustments in Analyzer and saved the workbook. Upon going back into my workbook, all my text elements were blank and when I open them, the constants and filter values are all unchecked. What could have caused these to be removed. All the structures are still there.

Hi Cherie,
The problem is strange.
But try executing the workbook again.
Once executed, edit the query and save and execute again.
Again save the workbook.
This is just trying again.

Text elements not displayng for upgraded 7.x worbook

Hi Experts,
I have migrated a 3.x workbook to 7.x worbook. In 3.x I have text elements for variable in my layout.. After migration the text elements for variables are not displaying and they are blank in 7.x workbook. Is there any equelent opton for text elements option in a workbook in BI 7.0 as it is in BW 3.5 in the layout menu

Yeah DB,
when you Upgrade from 3.5 to 7.0 follow the below procedure ,
Open 3.x WB.
Click okie on upgrade options and on the messages.
Refresh your WB, enter required varaibles ( by default variables should bring some data if 'Save and reuse varaibles option is ticked in 3.x WB' ) - there is some problem with this variables in SP14(Back end)
Now save your WB - will give u an pop up to save it .Click okie.
Close and reopen your WB , change varaibles and see still you are missing your text elements or not ?

Error in script : text elements are missing

Hi ,
In my print programs iam uaing lots of text elements for a
zform. I have copied the zform into zform1 and using the same print program and modified the zform1 according to my needs.
I am not using all the text elements in my zform1 script which is passed from the print program.
When i execute my zform1 by using the transaction which inturn uses that print program it gives more messages saying 512, 513 , 515 text elements are missing in form Zform1.
Can anyone tell without touching the print program can i do anything on the script zform1 to reslove this problem.

Ya, whatever Narendra told is right. U nedd to have the text elements in the script if you are calling the same from print program. Just maitain all the text elements with no text it.

Text element missing in the script

We have standard print program, calling a zform and z subroutine. The values are flowing in the outtab itcsy structure. but when flowing thru the form, it gives the error message, text element 625-TX is missing in the Z window.
What could be the problem?

The Text element is missing the that window.
Some the print program the element 625-TX is called using write_form.
Please inlcude this text ele in that window.

Changing text element description in Workbook

Hi
We are creating Workbooks, with text elements "Last Refreshed" and "Status of Data" displayed in the report.
Is there a way to change description of these default text elements?
The user wants it changed to "Load Date" and "Run Date" respectively. I'm not sure if it's possible to change the standard text elements.

This will work even if you move the text elements to a different worksheet within the workbook.

Some text elements are missing

Hi there!
From some time (I didn't noticed exactly) some text elements disappered in collaboration iviews.
For example if I try to go to some info-site collaboration room and add announcement, new window is opened with no texts, but only input fields to be filled. There's also no text on 'OK' and 'Cancel' buttons. So it's hard to understand what input field is for what purpose :o)
Why could it happen?
We're on SAP EP SP13 on WebAS 6.40, KM and Coll are also SP13.

I managed to regenerate projects. There's some bug with java on my notebook, but I did it directly on portal server maschine.
But the problem still persist. I even tried to restart servlet engine, no luck ;o(

Program text elements in German

Hello,
I copied a standard SAP program RFKQST80 to a "Z" program in order to make some enhancements. when I goto the text elements in SE38, the first thing that I get is a information box stating "untranslated texts from master language DE will also be displayed". I click okay and the "text symbols" and "selection texts" are displayed in german. i activated the program and now what i see is the text is displayed in english but when I try to change it, it is displayed in german. I need to modify some of the text. how do I get this to display in english. Is there something that I missed when I copied the original SAP program?

you have not copied it properly, that is the reson it is coming like this, try to copy it again it ll work fine, otherwise try to change the version and check wheather it is working or not.

Display Text Elements in BI 7.0

Hi,
We are now working on BI 7.0. We need to display the text elements for a specific query i.e the values entered by the user in the variables have to be displayed.
I am aware of the Design mode option after executing the query. I did select the Text web item and selected the necessary display items also. My question is do I have to save this web item customization as a workbook or will it reflect when I run the query the next time.

Text elements in the Bex Report

Bex Gurus,
When we execute the Bex report, it will display with icons on top as Chart, Filter and Information - Information will display all the text elements as standard. Right now I want to modify these standard elements and disply the text elements which are more meaningful to any business user when they execute any report/query in Bex

I want to implement this in Bex excel report when we click on Informaion icon which will show the text elements as explaiend above. (I know it is possible with WAD when we design the code)

You may do this in a workbook inserting Buttons in design mode.
I dont think so there is an easy way to accomplish this when a report is executed.
May be possible with lot of coding....

Text Element error in SAP script

Hi All,
I have modified a sap script and now getting print perfectly without any flaws.
But system is raising an error log in spool (Tcode: SP01) as below..
In form ZFFIAP_PMNT_RMTT / window MAIN , the element 610-C (Text-C) is missing.
When i checked the MAIN window of sap script, there is a text element with name 610-C.
How to resolve this error..????

I have checked the Driver Program. There is no text element '610-C' used in WRITE_FORM statements in the driver code.
There is no such element in the MAIN Window of sap script.
Still i m facing same error.....
"In form ZFFIAP_PMNT_RMTT / window MAIN , the element 610-C (Text-C) is missing"...
What might be the reason..????
I have checked other window too for such text element...
If i create a text element "610-C" in the MAIN window of sap script, still same error is being created as log file in Spool (SP01). INterestingly this error is not creating any impact on script printing...!!!

Language translation for text elements.

Hey ABAP Gurus,
I am having a problem, with translation of text elements in korean language. I have translated the TEs in korean, but they dont appear in ko, they appear in Portuguese...
I have tried using se63, and se80 for the translation...
Am I missing anything here? Please advise!

Text element of sales order form

I have a question about the text element of sales order printing form.
i run a sales order with some price condition (ZKFA) - VA03 and want to print it out
before i print it without ZKFA price, it's correct when printing , after input the ZKFA price, all the item detail are missing
I've checked the SAPScript form ..and see there are many /E (text element) .to control. and i think it's the key ~
but i don't know how I can debug it step by step in SE71 ...and show the foreground process to know and find where is the problem...
i don't know which system program is run to control the form text element...

Problem: Text elements inconsistencies

Hi,
I Converted SAP standard query to ABAP program for my requirement. I done the programming. Now the problem is I have to Add some text elements. When i'm trying to add text elemments, some inconsistencies there in standard sap text elements. when i activate,it doesn't allow to activate.It is displaying the message as " Inconsistencies exist,plz correct". it is showing some inconsistencies in text elements. If i remove these textelements, my report header,some texts,so many are missing.So i have to add my textelements without removing standard text elemnts.Can anyone suggest.

Hi Deepak,
It contains more than 100 text elements. and also the program was developed using query strings.So text elements also developed in that way with % and | . So we cannot create new text elements.So just we have an option to add our text elements to Standard one. Just I'm creating the one block and three checkboxes. for these i have to provide long text more than 8 characters.Is there any other way.Please suggest.
