Missing workspace folder

So i was going to install the output module. I noticed that i don't have the workspace folder. What should I do? I really want and need output!

This is a copy of the answer I send in via mail, it seems the new forum format is again a disaster and not able to put mail content in the forum but only a reply window without text...
Read the instructions carefully, some systems have different libraries where you should put the files in. But without details about your version and system there is not much to guess for.

  • Oomph installer directory gets used as workspace folder

    Hi there
my product (customized IDE) gets installed and
now also my own projects are setup (although I first had to learn that I need to double-click the setup in the wizard before I can really select my stream and that that was missing).
However, I now face the problem, that always the oomph installers directory gets used as workspace folder for my newly setup custom IDE...
I'm a little lost as how to predefine the workspace to the path where I need the workspace really to be located at.
I could perhaps use Resource Creation in my product setup to override the ini file and placing a
    -data
    ../workspace
in there, but that's somewhat error prone, because other defaults placed by oomph into the default ini will have to be maintained by hand by me, if something changes during later updates.
    Cheers

Yes, always. This way a user can influence the results of the other setup models.
    > So, what could make the installer create such a variable in user.setup?
The "install.root" variable is a so called rule variable, i.e., it's induced by the attribute rule that the user picks
for the installation location. You can see that rule at the top of your user.setup once you've done a normal
installation. There's only a handful of such rule variables. All other variable tasks that the installer might create in
your user.setup are always restricted to the scope that originally declared that variable, e.g., the "git.user.id"
variable that's declared in the Eclipse.org project catalog.

  • Attempting to set up "output module" in bridge CC - no workspace folder in Bridge CC. sol1 ok sol2 !

    Using AOM_Package_Win64.zip
I was able to copy  “adobe output module” folder to Bridge CC extention.
I could not follow your step3, namely
“Copy the AdobeOutputModule.workspace file into the Workspaces folder under the Bridge CC Extensions folder.”
I do not have a “Workspaces folder under the Bridge CC Extensions folder.”
Within Bridge CC extensions folder I only have Autostacks and the AOM folder that I just copied there.
I have opened Bridge CC and undertaken what you suggested in”possible issues” solution 1 – no changes. I then tried sol 2. There were a number of !!_$$$ workspace files but NOT one called “!!-$$$AdobeOutputModule.workspace file.” ????

Thank you for a hint on what to do.
Check this thread and read the instructions of the download carefully. You have two libraries, one at system level and one at user level.

  • Sharepoint Workspace 2010: Absolute path to workspaces folder

I am trying to mount the SharePoint Workspace 2010 workspaces folder on another computer so that I can parse the Excel files stored in it for additional processing. But I am unable to find the full file system path to the workspaces folder. Can someone please
    help me find it?
    Thanks,
    Mahmood

    Hi  Mahmood,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to find the SharePoint 2010 workspace file location.
The workspace data is stored within the users profile. The default location is %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\14.0\OfficeFileCache. The files in this location don't look like the actual files, and contain
    a lot of metadata.
For more information, you can have a look at the blog:

  • Missing workspaces after IllustratorCC (2014) update

Title says it all. After the latest IllustratorCC(2014) update I noticed my normal workspace didn't load. Figured after an update just needed to sync settings...nothing. Then check Ai workspaces folder, just the presets. Even "Time Machined" the Ai workspaces folder, never saw my old workspaces. Not sure if that was where they were originally, but within Illustrator I used to easily pull it up. Are they gone? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I could fix this by accident. I am on Mac. Quit Illustrator. Go to … Users/Your_Username/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator 18 Settings/Your_Language. Inside this folder is a folder called Changed Workspaces. The Workspaces folder is for whatever reason empty. Move the Workspace File you can't access within Illustrator to your Desktop. Start Illustrator, quit Illustrator. Move the file back into this folder. Start Illustrator again. In my case all workspaces appear now correctly.

  • Cannot specify Workspace folder with MVMC PowerShell module

I’m currently working with a customer to migrate them from VMware to Hyper-V.  I’m using MVMC PowerShell automated with Service Management Automation in Azure Pack.  The process is working well, but I’ve hit a roadblock:
    When using the MVMC GUI, the user has the option to specify a Workspace folder, which temporarily stores the VMDK file exported from VMware;
The option to specify a Workspace folder does not seem to be exposed to the MVMC PowerShell module (specifically the ConvertTo-MvmcVirtualHardDiskOvf cmdlet)
The impact of this in the context of SMA is that the MVMC module uses
C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Service Management Automation\MVMC on the runbook worker as the temporary storage
The C:\ partition fills up and the OVF export hangs/fails
I didn’t uncover this problem in my lab as I was using test machines which were quite small, so the temporary files fit on the C:\ partition.  However, the customer is using larger servers with multiple disks, so now the problem has arisen.
Is there a way to specify a Workspace folder for the ConvertTo-MvmcVirtualHardDiskOvf cmdlet so that I can avoid this issue?  The combination of MVMC and SMA is working really well, and it would be a shame to have to ditch the process because of this
    one problem.

I ended up provisioning another runbook worker, installing SMA to a large D:\ partition so that it would be used as the temporary storage for the Convert-MvmcVirtualHardDiskOvf process.
Bit of a messy workaround - would have been much neater to handle all of this using a simple switch for the cmdlet.

  • Missing user folder from Workspace and FR studio

    Hi All,
Recently we upgraded the workspace and applications... Initially there were all the folders, but i noticed that user folder from workspace and FR studio was missing... If anyone have come across this issue please let me know how to solve it.
Awaiting for response, Thanks in advance

Just to make sure I understand. When you double click the hard drive icon either in the sidebar or on your desktop (if you have it shown there) there is no users folder shown? If that is the case then it must somehow have become invisible. If there was in actuality no user folder at all your Mac would not boot.
If that is the case then you may have to use the terminal to get it back. I can't help you with that though, sorry. Another possibility is that there is some sort of corruption in a cache file. You could use a tool such as YASU or others to do a light cache cleaning which may solve the problem.

  • InDesign CS4 launches with missing workspaces, keyboard shortcut sets, etc

Due to the mixture of multiple issues in this thread:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b6c639/
I'm starting this as a new topic to focus on the cases where InDesign CS4 users are able to launch and use the product, but are missing resources such as the following types of presets: Workspaces, Keyboard Shortcut Sets, and Swatch Libraries.
All reports of this issue appear to be related to user permissions. For these resources to to be accessed you must be running InDesign CS4 with an account that has read/write access to the following folder, including it's subfolders and all of their content:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS4\Presets
If you have a setup where you are running into problems getting resources from this folder to appear in InDesign CS4, and you believe your user account has read/write permissions to all of it's contents, please let me know as I'd like to work with you to find a solution.

The complete fix from start to finish for my problem (InDesign CS4 launching without toolbars or keyboard shortcuts when logged on without Administrator priviliges) is below.  It's actually quite simple once you know how... The problem is just getting all of the information in the same place.  Hopefully it will help others having the same problem.
    1.        Install CS4 from the 2 installation CDs.  Allow a couple of hours from start to finish.
    2.        Log on with an Administrator account:
    a.        Navigate to “C:\Program Files\Adobe\”.
    b.        Right-click on the folder named “Adobe InDesign CS4”
    c.        Click Properties
    d.        Click on the Security tab
    e.        Change permissions for Users to Full Control
    f.         Click on the Advanced button and ensure that there is a check in both of the boxes (inherit and replace permissions).
    g.        Click Apply to reflow the permissions
    h.        Click OK twice.
    3.        Navigate to the following locations and rename each of the EN_UK folders to EN_US:
    a.        C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS4\Presets\InDesign Workspaces\
    b.        C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS4\Presets\Page Sizes\
    c.        C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS4\Presets\Start Page\
    d.        C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS4\Presets\InDesign Shortcut Sets\
    4.        With a user account, launch Adobe InDesign CS4 and immediately hold down Shift, Control and Alt together.  Click Yes to delete the InDesign Preference files.

  • Missing System Folder  in Classic

I really need some help here
Purchased an I BOOK G4 notebook .. mostly as a back up for some graphic programs.
It is running a clean copy of OS X version 10.4.11
Classic is missing the system folder and as a result i cant seem to install anything???
Do not have any OS disks with the machine
    What are my options??

Hello, and welcome to Apple Discussions!
You will need a source for a valid and installable OS 9.2.2 system for use
as Classic before you can install and use any pre-OS X applications...
And you really need to have an OS X (tiger 10.4) retail or correct install
disc set to support and maintain the system, and its license in the iBook.
The computer model shipped with a machine specific series of install-restore
discs and the OS 9.2.2 Classic would have been on one of them; usually not
the main disc, that has OS X installers on it. Since that computer did not boot
OS 9.2.2, the installer would be specific to the computer; about the only way
to get an OS 9 from an optional OS X install disc, if you have software but no
computer, the OS X has to see and recognize an appropriate installer, though.
Since OS X is primary and OS 9 does not boot an iBook G4, you have to find
a way to install OS 9.2.2 by drag and drop; or get ahold of a correct original
install-restore disc set for that computer from some online source. There is a
small chance that someone may have the right one for your build model iBook
Used to be, you could call Apple sales support at 1-800-MY-APPLE and ask to
speak to a product specialist about replacement original discs for the iBook G4
and provide them with the product's serial number, and order a new replacement
set of install discs, for a reasonable fee. The correct Apple Hardware Test is on
those discs, so that was the best deal going. The original software could have
been a version of Panther 10.3.9, and if the computer CPU was faster than
800MHz it would not dual boot OS 9 and OS X. This is where details matter.
You may be able to identify your iBook by serial number by using the search
link in everymac.com, to help find which iBook G4 model it really is, and then
know more about upgrading it, getting replacement or upgrade software, and
other important facts. Such as what Apple Hardware Test was in original s/w.
Any other OS 9.1 or 9.2(.1) install disc would not work, since they either would
be for some other computer and made to install when booted (C key held on start)
or, would be too old for the direct install method to work, it won't under OS X if
not the correct disc set for the computer.
You may be able to find a way to install an OS 9.1 or OS 9.2 on an external HDD
or flash USB drive, and update it to OS 9.2.2 using download update files, and
then copy (drag/drop) it into an iBook G4, for use as non-boot Classic 9.
On a trial basis and to test some hardware, I was able to use a newer iBook G4
second install disc which contained an OS 9.2.2 install, and use it as Classic in
a different computer running OS X, by use of Pacifist utility. This takes a packet
of data out of the disc and then installs it from the desktop, directly. It can work.
But there are so many variables some of the things that Could Work, may Not.
Some suggest you may be able to make a copy of a working OS 9.2.2 system
folder and an Applications 9 folder from a working computer and use them as
Classic in some other OS X PPC model of Mac that does not boot OS 9.2.2.
You may be able to use a USB flash drive to copy an OS 9.2 system and its
applications (9) folder. You may even be able to test it as a working idea,
while it still is on the USB memory drive; by pointing the Classic preference
panel (in System Preferences) to look for a Classic system there. Or drag
and drop it into the computer. The good about old OS 9.2 & before, is the
simple way to move a system around; and OS X won't allow that method.
And of course, OS X 10.5 Leopard can't use an OS 9.2.2 Classic.
The original install disc set would be the best bet. Is there any chance the seller
may have misplaced the software set belonging to the computer you bought?
These are considered a part number of the computer, as such, part of the sale.
If bought from a company who fixes and resells computers, do they offer any
optional software for an additional fee? The discs should be included, but in
several instances, people buy a computer second-hand and have no software.
You may have to contact resellers and maybe even auction sites, once you can
identify the exact set of software you need; companies such as welovemacs or
others you can search for may have something; most are overpriced, to me.
The ebay auction tales are enough to scare me into keeping the original discs
and include them when I forward the computer to some other future user.
I have not bought any replacement software online, and OS 9.2.2 installers for
a specific OS X running computer, to be used as Classic, narrow the field; since
the OS 9 system installer on iBook disc media is often made for that model.
Well, I have ideas. And they seem to work better for me in person than when
I've told some persons about them online. Just as well, if there's some glitch
you can avoid by finding the correct discs (in the land of plenty) that's good.
To *search " OS 9.2.2 install CD " in google* may bring up some choices,
but I have no experience with retail resellers of old or used software.
In a few cases, if you get very good at identifying iBook G4s, you may
be able to find a broken one exactly like yours with the original software.
These should be relatively inexpensive; but have very limited use discs.
    Hope this may help, somewhat...
    Good luck & happy computing!
    +PS: I think I need a little more coffee!+

  • Missing Movies Folder in Sidebar

When opening a Finder window, one of my sidebar folders is missing. I have the Applications, Documents, Pictures, Music and User folders, but the Movies folder is nowhere to be seen. I tried searching for it in Spotlight and got nothing. Because of this, I have no Movies directory to save my iMovie projects in. How can I take care of this problem?

The special icon is automatically given by the Finder to a folder named Movies that resides in the users home folder, and automagically gives it the cool custom icon in the Sidebar when it is dragged there. People have been known to mess this up by pasting an icon on the folder themselves. Sometimes a restart of the Finder or the computer may be necessary to get the custom icon to display. There are a number of folders that the Finder treats this way in the home folder.

  • Missing file folder in LR2.7 -- how to locate

After a crashed and replaced hard drive, many catalogs no longer refer to a file or folder at its correct location.  Clicking on the "?" in the library modcule and then the "find missing folder or file", only leads me to the message that the file already exists.  How can I find it to re-establish the link?

What you want to do is click on the folder instead of the image.
In the left hand menu, click on the top most folder (left most if more than one) and you should get an option to reconnect or find missing folder.
Browse to the new location and select.
If you click on the top most, it will reconnect everything below it.
A number of us use only one top most folder for this reason; it helps when moving images around or something.
    Cheers!
