When I convert pdf to word, many words are misspelled. Why?

You may want to try the ExportPDF forum. Sounds like maybe the file was a scan and has been incorrectly OCR'd.

Can't create hyperlinks after converting a Word document with Acrobat XI Pro

Hello,
Here's my problem.
I'm making a catalog document for my company.
The document that I'm converting to PDF is made on Office Word 2013 and it's a .docx format file.
I'm on Windows 8 and the latest version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro installed.
Inside my word document I have some pictures that have a hyperlink. Those hyperlinks directionate to a bookmark inside the word document. Inside the word document, if I do Ctrl+Click over the image, it will go to the page that has that bookmark. And it works. Period.
Beside that I also have some Cross-references on the word document. Those cross-references basically are the page number from the bookmark reference. By accident on most of those cross-refrences I left enabled the "Insert as hyperlink" on the cross-reference box options. When I Ctrl+Click over those cross-references I also go into the page of that cross-reference.
After I convert the word document into pdf, I can't get any hyperlink on the pictures, if I simply click on them, like if I click on a hyperlink on a webpage or something similar, the pdf won't go the the bookmark on the page that I've set on the word document.
The funny thing is that if I click on the other cross-references I can go to the page were that cross-reference is...
I tried all the methods to convert the file in order to obtain hyperlinks on the images...
I tried to use the Acrobat tab and the File -> Save as Adobe PDF, as both uses Acrobat PDFMaker, but nothing works.
Even tried all options on Acrobat PDFMaker but can't get it. "Create bookmarks", "Add links", "Convert Word Bookmarks", "...Word Styles to Bookmarks", "...Word Headings to Bookmarks", none works....
If I try to simply print from inside Word by choosing the Adobe PDF printer (like if I choose a regular printer), in the printers options it doesn't show up any hyperlink/link/bookmark option related, so that way is definitely a no go...
To reference, on 2006/2007 I also worked on a similar project and used this method on the word document (on Word 2003). At that time I had another Adobe Acrobat version, can't remember what version was...
This hyperlink situation was without any problem. After conversion, on the pdf file, if I click on a image it went to the right place inside that pdf file...
So I'm simply lost wether it's a problem of me, a problem of Word, a problem from Acrobat... simply lost...
I'm desperated....please, someone help me!!!

Ok, sorry for never talk since the last time, but I finally discovered why I had this problem.
I found out that M$ decided somehow to change the process of embedded hyperlinks on a image, but in a docx it doesn't get affected. Only after transforming it into a pdf by Acrobat that the problem emerges...

Basically all I have to do is "Use Insert, Quick Parts, Field, IncludePicture. This inserts the picture in the old way as a field. You can use Alt-F9 to reveal the field codes and change the images to be embedded rather than linked."
Then, after converting it with acrobat, the pdf finally have hyperlinks on the images!!!
They change this on Word 2007. As I had the 2003, at the time, I didn't had this problem.
As I said, M$ changed something, but only is affected after converting with acrobat. So, acrobat also missed something in the process. I call it a 50/50 guilt.
To bad no one ever notice this problem...

Why do lines show up after converting Word doc?

After converting a regular Word doc, which doesn't 'appear' to contain lines around the paragraghs, contains lines in the PDF. I believe I have chosen the highest quality in the convert settings, and cannot figure out why I'm getting this junk in the PDF. I'm only having issues with a Word file received from the same person.
How do I clean up the Word doc before converting, I guess is the real question...

After converting to Word (using adobe's export service), special characters appear & text is altered. What did we do wrong?

Besides Daniel's answer, you should be aware that Acrobat is not the forum for the service you are talking about. There is a separate forum for the services such as you are talking about and may be a better source of answers.

The error message you were receiving occurs when you try to convert a dynamic PDF file created with Adobe LiveCycle Designer. This file is usually already a fillable form. Unfortunately there is no workaround available for converting documents like this within the ExportPDF service.

After converting PDF to word, font sometimes changes in the middle and I can't get the document all in the same font. It happened on many documents.

I am preparing a book which I want in Times New Roman. After converting from PDF files, many of the pages had other fonts, mainly Cambria in them and I couldn't get the whole document in the same font. How can I fix this?

Fix it in Word. Converting to Word from PDF is a complex and uncertain process, just the first stage in editing. But does the book only exist in PDF? Often people go through PDF because it seems easier, while often it is harder.

IPad Mail misspelled word

iPad with iOS 8 finds a misspelled word after a space is typed. A backspace causes it to give suggested correct spellings to a sighted user but VoiceOver says nothing nor is there a way to make it read the suggestions. Touching the screen works for sighted people but useless for the blind.

I found it! When a word is misspelled in Mail after you type a space Voice Over says "Misspelled". Delete the space you just typed and a sound is herd indicating iPad has a suggested a correct spelling. Nothing is read. Be sure the Rotor in in Container Mode you will need to turn Quick Nav on to set the Rotor. Go the Status Bar with a VO+M. Move to the last item with a VO-right arrow (Battery Power). If you are in Container Mode with the Rotor a VO+down Arrow will focus and read the left most suggest word. Now VO-right arrow to hear the other suggestions. Don't left arrow past the first word or you loose it. Can you believe it!!

Mail spell check hangs on last misspelled word

Hi everybody,
I have a bit of a dilemma that is quite annoying, and I would love it not to be. My spell checker in Mail (OSX 10.4.10) hangs on the last word when spell checking a message. I am able to check my spelling and choose Ignore/Guess/Correct etc. but when it reaches the end of my email it stops. Spell check will identify the misspelled word, but will not allow me to make corrections or ignore the word like it used to. The familiar tone and empty spell check box is no longer to be found.
But this does work in textedit! No problems what so ever. I have tried to scour these forums and tried a few things, but still nothing. I have also noticed this problem occurs in another user account.
I have checked the Ownership and Permissions of the spell checker file, deleted preference files, re-installed Mail by itself, performed an archive and install, completely reinstalled OSX and still nothing.
So now if any of you have an idea please let me know.

Well, you should. Leaving messages on the server indefinitely may end up clogging up your mail account there and cause this kind of problems. Just specify After one week or After one month if you don't want messages to be removed from the server immediately.

There is no red underline for misspelled words in Safari on Ipad Air since update

Since updating to the new IOS I don't see that red scribbly underline under misspelled words in Safari (or Google Chrome) anymore on my Ipad Air. I like that underline, cause it's an easy and fast way to see when I mispelled something or made a typo.
The spellcheck function on my Ipad is turned on (the autocorrect and suggestion function are turned off). I do see that red underline in other text programs, like Quickedit, Facebook Messenger and Notes. But not in Safari or in Google Chrome and Google Drive/Documents
I already tried to no avail:
turning the spellcheck, suggestions and autocorrect on and off
Resetting the Ipad (with the home and sleep/wake button)
Deleting my Safari and Google history data
Deleting my dictionary data
Deleting the emoji keyboard
How do I get it to work again?

I suspect that's an actual change to iOS 8, but if it isn't and you think it's a glitch or bug, then open a ticket with Apple Support, so they can get it registered as a problem, so the Apple software people can fix it ...

On my iPhone 5, can I set a preference to ask if I want to send a message that has misspelled words before it's sent?

The spell checker correctly shows a red underline to flag misspelled words. However, sometimes I miss them or inadvertently send the message before I've checked (new user, not sure how this happens). Is there a way to have a question box show up to ask me if I'm ready to send with spelling errors? I did find some guidance in prior questions to the Community but they were for other Apple i products.

Not that I have found. The interface apparently expects you to correct them the moment they occur. A PITA, if you ask me, since it breaks the typing rythmn.

Misspelled word in the Automated Email being sent by Workflow system

First of all I'm absolutely clueless about workflow so please don't be hating. :X
I am trying to fix a bug in one of the email templates being sent to email addresses of our employees. The subject line have a misspelled word.
Where do I start?
Whats the tcode to go to these templates? And how do I search for the correct email to be corrected given that the information I have is the Subject line and the body of the email.

There are several transactions you can use to check a workflow template. Depending on what you want to do you could use PFTC, SWDD or SWDD_CONFIG.
Finding the correct task from only the subject or content is much harder. The best thing to do is run SWI1 for the period the e-mails are generated. In the list you get is a column task which holds the tasknumber. Now you need to find the step which actually sends your e-mail and get the corresponding tasknumber. Using this in PFTC and the where used function you should be able to find the workflow (WS....). Then you can use SWDD_CONFIG to change the text.
But if the e-mail is SAP standard I would raise an OSS message and ask them to make the correction.

Spell Check is Broken - Right Clicking on Misspelled Word Does Nothing

MIsspelled words are marked as incorrect in Safari, but when I right-click or control-click I never get a dialog to correct the misspelling. Spell-check works fine in all other apps, such as Mail. Any ideas? I have the problem on two machines. All have had upgrade installs from Tiger to Leopard.

Crash when right-clicking or control-clicking misspelled word

When I run a variety of applications that involve word processing (Word, Pages, Keynote, PowerPoint) and I misspell a word, and the application indicates it with a red underline, and then I right-click or control-click on the word in at attempt to correct that word, the application hangs (beach ball) and must be forced to quit. This behavior is extremely reliable; all I need to is open the app, type one misspelled word, and I can reproduce it. I do NOT see the behavior in Mail, Safari, or TextEdit.
Running OS 10.6.2, with all updates installed on a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac with 4 GB memory. Office is version 2008 with all updates installed. Using a Mighty (wireless) Mouse, but switching to a regular Mac mouse produced the same effect (hey, worth a try). Have fixed all disk permissions and rebooted.

First, go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.DictionaryServices and move the DictionaryCache.plist file to the Trash.
Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move these files to the Trash.

Spelling & Grammar: can't delete misspelled word - 'ignore' is greyed out

I have accidentally added a misspelled word in Mail, so now it won't show up as a typo.
Help suggests to open 'Show Spelling and Grammar', type in misspelled word, then click 'ignore', but 'ignore' is greyed out.
Is there any way I can get rid of it?

Can't find where the automated suggestions for misspelled words can be edited, and yes I googled it.

I typed "vrey" and "very" wasn't suggested. Really? It's something I thought would be easy to find in the options but it isn't for some reason, maybe I'm blind.
