OA Tutorial Create Page pt2 - Where is data saving?

Hello!
I am working through the framework tutorials in jDeveloper. I am running 9.0.3.12.25 with OA 11i. I am currently in Chapter 2: Core Lessons, on the Create - Part 2 tutorial. Everything seems to be working ok...I can create an Employee and search for them and view them in the LOVs and the results. Here is my question - where should this data be saving? My EmployeeEO shows AK.FWK_TBX_EMPLOYEES for Schema Object. My EmployeeFullVO is based on a query that is pulling from AK.FWK_TBX_EMPLOYEES. However when I query this table, I am not seeing any new employees being created - just the original 7 that were seeded. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where else I should be looking?
Again - I am not getting any errors when I create the new employee. I can then return to my Search page and query up the Employee that I just created, as well as employees that I created yesterday. The only other odd behavior that I am seeing is that the Full Name is not being displayed, but all other fields are. Also, I am extremely new to the OAF, so please bear with me :)

Contacts Management Tutorial -- MySQL error on last step!

I just completed the contacts management tutorial and in the final exercise using the QuB I get the following error:
"You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ORDER BY name_con' at line 1"
This is interesting because you are instructed to remove the "ORDER BY name_con" from the SQL query (pg. 62) because, according to the author, "This step makes the query easier to view when you open MX Query Builder." Leaving the "ORDER BY name_con" produces the same result. Any ideas on why the error is generated? I was nearly done with my first ADDT tutorial and all had gone well up to this point!!!

humm -- isn´t the complete query displayed close to the "You have an error in your SQL syntax..." error message ?
I've a feeling the "nulls" may be guilty
you can easily "debug" this by (temporarily) changing NOT NULL columns to NULL in the DB and hence get a clue whether this assumption is right or not.
However, I think it´s probably just a tiny syntax error, as that error message indicates -- what exactly appears directly preceeding the 'ORDER BY name_con' part of your query ?

Tutorial creating page references

I am sure that MacUser (UK) had a tutorial recently that showed how to create reference words in a document like in a dictionary, this is where, when looking at a double page spread, the top left hand corner of the left hand page shows the first word of that page. The top right hand corner of the right hand page shows the last word of that page.
I know it was created using Paragraph styles and possibly a script of some kind but I can't find the tutorial anywhere and I really need to use it on a project I am working on.
Can someone point me in the direction of a tutorial that will allow me to do this?

Pages v5.5.2 is the current revision, and a version specific help link is here. There is no tutorial, or manual available for the Pages v5 series. It was never designed to be a replacement for MS Publisher.
If you want to open MS Publisher documents on the Mac, consider the free LibreOffice Suite, whose word processing/layout features more closely rival or exceed MS Word than those found in Pages. LibreOffice Writer actually has a substantial manual written in LibreOffice Writer itself. Only Pages v5.5.2 can open its documents directly, without exports in other formats.

We have setup the same JDEV patch on 2 machines having the same DBC files and the same application logins as well as the same responsibility keys.
But it is working fine on one machine and we are able to run the test page as well as any custom page that we are developing.
but on one machine we are unable to run even the test page.
Both are also on the same network.
We are struck as we are unable to do any work.
Could anyone please suggest any solution to this.
I have gone through the numerous posts regarding this kind of error, but have not been yet able to resolve.

As per error message, the problem is with the Database connection.
Check again if your using wright dbc file, you can check it through connection string given in the dbc file
and also try connecting the database through sql developer.

Previous versions allowed me to go back mant web pages in one step. V4 only seems to allow going back one page at a time. Can I change this back to the earlier method?

The top left of previous Firefox versions had the left arrow key to go back to the previous web page and a button that would list all the previous web pages so that I could select, say, the 5th previous page. I can't find this button on Firefox 4. Is there a way to do this?

If you click and hold on the back button, the list drops down. The "dot" indicates where you currently are in the history.
(There might be a way to get the separate drop-list button back if you prefer that appearance, but I haven't researched it.)

Now the problem is the second picture in my past reply. No way to find in the «create fix-up» the menu that matches fix hairlines.

I guess what is confusing to me is since I am able to save 4 or 5 things through syncing, is there not a way I can view this info? What's the point in being able to sync and save this info if I cannot view it? I'm just frustrated cos it's tough to explain stuff w/o being face-to-face, I guess. And, I am all over the place cos I am frustrated I cannot grasp this concept.

HelloWorld page in the tutorial

I am relatively newbie for the OAF (worked on it a bit....came back to it after a while).
When I try to run the HelloWorld page from the tutorial, the page is coming up ok. However, when I key in any text into the text field and click on the 'Go' button, it does not display Hello+<the text that I keyed in>. I see the yello triangle with the exclamation mark in it with "Error on page". I know I have seen this before but can't seem to resolve it.

I disabled the pop-up blocker and also included the url in the trusted sites. However, still getting it. Same on my custom search page.
Additionally I unchecked the "Disable script Debugging" in the Internetoptions. Have not yet deleted the temporary internet files.

I'm facing a similar problem with jdev. We recently upgraded from 11.5.10 RUP6 to RUP7. I ve downloaded the right patch from metalink and tested the tutorials. its working fine. I ftp'ed all the required file to run the home page and iExpense pages. When i run the HomePG, it runs fine, when i clickon the iexpense responsibility, it takes me to the login page. I ve set the oc4j setting to default ip address. Can you throw some light on this?

Firefox won't open and the steps in tutorial didn't help nor did uninstalling and re-installing

Hi,
I have been thru the tutorial and none of the steps solved the problem I am having with firefox. I just installed it on a new computer and it won't open. It says that it cannot run until process is ended or computer is restarted. Restarting and ending the process don't seem to help. The other tutorial step of deleting the lock file doesn't work either as I could not find a lock file.

Right... Back to square one.
- Open Internet Explorer, go to "www.mozilla.com" and download the installer for Firefox 3.6.12 and save it to your desktop.
- To uninstall Firefox, first make sure no "firefox.exe" processes are running on your machine: Open the task manager (invoke it by pressing ctrl-alt-del and choosing the appropriate option), click on the "Processes" tab, click on the heading "Name" to sort all running processes by name.
Scroll down the list and right-click on the first "firefox.exe" process picking the "Kill process" option. If there's more than one of them, repeat for all instances of "firefox.exe".
- Now go to the directory C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\uninstall and double-click "helper.exe". This should uninstall Firefox completely.
- Now we're in for the hard part: Go to C:\Dokuments and Settings\[Your User Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles. That's where your profile resides. Unless you're using the Profile Manager, chances are you're seeing just one directory "[random string],default". (In my case it's called "4sr92zjz.default", f. ex.).
If you got any bookmarks you'd like to keep, open this folder, find the file "places.sqlite" and move it to your desktop.
Now delete the entire contents of your profile folder--you'll need to configure firefox anew. Do keep this window open, you'll need it again in a few moments.
Go to your desktop, run the installer, start Firefox once, close it again and move your "places.sqlite" file from your desktop to your profile folder.
Now double-click Firefox and reconfigure it according to your preferences.
N.B.: Do get "MozBackup". With this application you're able to save and restore a working Firefox profile--for your next mishap ;-)

BTW MrWeatherbee, it turns out that horizontal scrolling is on buttons 12 and 13 on the MX1000 - that is why it wasn't working initially. Applying my learnings here from last week I discovered this, mapped it correctly and now it works like a champ. You have taught me (and I hope many others through this thread) to fish! Thanks again.

While I haven't read it very, very closely (i.e., I didn't bother trying to nail you for spelling mistakes ), the format and general clarity is very nice and coherent.
One point, however. As you asserted in so many words in an earlier post on this topic, sometimes the business of setting up a mouse seemed like magic instead logic. I believe that part of the confusion stemmed a great deal from existing tutorials which advocate(d) the use of:
1. the stock mouse driver
2. Z-axis mapping
3. Xmodmap code which only uses a "scrambled" portion of one's available mouse buttons
Item 2) and 3) were inevitable because the "mouse" driver only supported buttons up to 7, so goofy, hard-to-follow mapping which omitted buttons was required by those other guides.
However, since you use "evdev" in the wiki, as you should, you have no need for and do not use "Z-axis". Great. BUT you still are using a hard to follow Xmodmap'ing given your mouse:

It is hard to follow (my opinion) because it is known that the subject mouse (MX1000), per your tutorial, has 14 buttons available. Would it not make more sense, even if it works without it, to use an Xmodmap containing a mapping using all the buttons? At the least, explain better why the code is truncated at "9". Even if the answer to why is, "Hey, it works without them, so in the interest of code conservation, I removed 10, 11, 12, 13, 14. At least then, anyone reading would not be wondering why you "chose" a nine-button mapping for a 14-button mouse.
Again, it's a minor point in that the code as presented works. But it also clouds a little of the clarity of presentation, especially for those who may have a different mouse and are trying to figure out how to generically apply the guide you have crafted.

How to get next and previous page in a Train Flow .

For creating record I am using multi-step flow (train).
I have three page and I want to navigate the page via multi-step flow (train).
I followed the steps given in the Toolbox Tutorial of create purchase order and
Locator Element: Page/Record Navigation in developer's guide.

Now on this Page1, when I clicks on the 'Next' button (to navigate to the next page in the same multi-step flow) I am getting following exception and its not navigating to page2.
