Mistakenly created HDV sequence for SD footage

I didn't figure this out until I finished editing, but...
I mistakenly created an HDV sequence (1440x1080) and inserted SD anamorphic footage into it.
My question is, even if I change the sequence settings to SD anamorphic, will this affect the quality of the video, or does FCP automatically realize the footage is already SD and no changes are necessary?
I'm worried that the footage was upconverted then downconverted...

Correct, after you paste your old sequence into the new one, you'll have to go to each clip on the timeline, right-click (cntl-click), then select remove attributes, and check basic motion and distort. You may also want to check Filters as well since FCP most likely applied Shift Fields filter automatically, but checking that box will also remove any other filters that you've applied in the original sequence, such as color correction.
I'd like to know if there's an easier way to achieve this if anyone can lend to the discussion. I have had to go through several 22 min sequences and do every clip and graphic individually.

  • How to create a sequence for an particular item in my apex form

    Hi friends,
    I created an database application, of a form with a report, and it is working fine...
    But in my form, i have a requirement....The below are the existing fields in my form
    issue no
    created by
    start date
    status
    priority
    due date
    Among these fields in my form i need to create a 'Sequence' for my field "issue no",
    So that whenever i opened the form the 'issue number' must generate automatically like 1 for the first time, 2 for the second time and so on..
    For that i created a sequence
    CREATE SEQUENCE "ORDERS_SEQ"
    MINVALUE 1
    MAXVALUE 999999999999999999999999999
    INCREMENT BY 1
    START WITH 1000
    NOCACHE
    NOCYCLE;
    But for validation where i need to write the sequence query for the particular item 'issue no'....i dont have any idea of where to write the validation query for the sequence..
    please tell where i need to write in step wise manner..please help me friends...
    As the below is my validated sequence query for item 'issue no'
    'select seq.issue_id.nextval into issue_no'
    This is my above validation query whether the query that i mentioned is right..if not let me know the validation query..
    And also i need where to apply this validation query in steps..
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Harry...

    Harry,
    Rik is on the right track. Here is a sample insert trigger: Would need to substitute you sequence ORDERS_SEQ with my sequence las_log_seq, how you define or use timestamps is up to you.

  • Exporting an hdv sequence for sd viewing

    can anyone advise on how best to export an HDV sequence (using compressor and dvdsp) for standard definition viewing?
    i would be interested in hearing suggestions for both (a) letterboxing and (b) cropping in on the sides. thank you.
    danny

    Though I'm woefully underqualified to step in for Jerry, what you're experiencing is one of those oddities about working in Native HDV - a standard definition DVDSP project will not accept it.
    (And this qualifies as 'odd' because the same DVDSP project would accept the footage if it's Apple Intermediate Codec, a format that I suspect Jerry prefers and uses normally)
    There is much debate about how to achieve the best quality conversion from HDV -> SD DVD without spending the 25+ hours that Compressor 2.x would take to do a proper format conversion. The most discussed of these workarounds is The Bonsai Solution™, so give that a shot and see how that works out for you.

    Hello,
    What I did for CS4 , that does not have than function.
    Create a new project, pick the  AVCHD 1080 30p present as a basis, and then go to the "general" tab and save it with a different name, like "GoPro R4 mode"
    Then close Pr, open the preset you just saved with a text editor like notepad , and search and replace "1920" for "1280", and "1080" for "960"
    That´s it, it works.
    Gonza
    edit: mmm Im not sure if its ok... when I open the preset it says 1280x960, all good. But then when I go to sequence > properties it says 1920x1080 ...

  • HD or DV sequence for mixed footage

    I need some advice from someone who has mixed DV and HD footage. I have a show recorded with DV using a Panasonic DVC-30 and HD24p with a Canon HV20. Both are anamorphic. I need to mix the footage for my final product.
    The biggest issue is that when I use a DV sequence and add HD footage to it, the HD footage is unacceptably bad, jagged. I understand it has to lose information in the downconversion, but is there a setting or a filter I can add to tweak this?
    If I use an HD sequence, the dv footage is small. If I blow it up to match & render out to DVD, the HD footage looks fine but the DV footage doesn't match.
    If i let the camera downconvert, the footage looks just as bad as when FCE does it.
    pardon the naive question, but why does the hd footage looks fine when you reduce the size of the window? Shouldn't it suffer from the same type of loss?
    I guess I assumed when I shot this (yes I realize I should have done more extensive field tests first) that the downconverted HD footage would look better than it does. Are there tools/filters that do a better job?
    Thanks for your help.

    It turns out that the HD footage is blown up after all, which accounts for some of the 'jaggies'. If you reduce the hd footage in the dv sequence to about 50% scale it matches. You're right about the canvas rendering being lo-res as well.
    Thanks!

  • How to create temp Sequence  for multi sessions

    Hi,
    I"m using Global Temp table and I need to insert Identity (or Seq-Number) column into it, but I also have multiple sessions for my sp and each case shold have it's own Seq-Number, starting from 0.
    Is there any kind of "temp sequence" in Oracle ? that works in the same fashion like GTT , so multiple sessions each will get fresh zero anytime they will refer it.
    I also found out that ROWNUM will not work in my case.
    Probably I also can create SEQUENCE in my sp with some unique name let say with SID , something like:
    select sys_context('SID') into tmp_SID from dual ;
    CREAT SEQUENCE 'MYSEQ'||tmp_SID start with 0 .....
    Tx
    Trent

    if several sessions will create sequence with same static name could it be collission ? Should I go with dynamic sequence name instead ?You cannot have the same SEQUENCE (i.e. "static name") created from multiple sessions. A SEQUENCE is a Database Object that is not transient, but permanent (until it is dropped).
    Although you could "generate" dynamic sequence names and use them, you should look for a better implementation than running CREATE and DROP statements like that.
    Furthermore, you would have difficulty in doing a bulk insert of multiple rows unless you add a trigger that fires FOR EACH ROW.
    If you need to assign an increasing value to each row, use a ROWNUM to assign to a new column.
    insert /*+ -- optional APPEND -- */ into target_table
    select s2.*, rownum-0  from (select * source_table s where .....  order by ....) s2on the assumption that target_table as n+1 columns where the last column is for the increasing value. (rownum-0 is to set the first row to 0).

  • Best Sequence for mixed footage

    Gurus,
    What is the best sequence settings to use if mixing HDV 720p, HDV 1080i, 24p, and Standard 29.97 NTSC DV formats in the same project? Final delivery will be SD DVD/and web.
    Thanks in advance!
    Matt

    I will be mixing a small amount of beta/miniDV footage into the sequence
    How will you be bringing this in? DV I see as via firewire, but beta? If you had a capture card, you could upconvert those to HD ProRes.
    So, Do I upconvert the SD to ProRes, and work in a Pro Res sequence?
    Yes.
    Or do I down convert the Pro Res to SD, and work in the standard DV NTSC perameters? Again, I'm finishing to SD DVD/Web. Appreciate any advice!
    Well then, downconvert the HD to SD and work in DV/NTSC.

  • Need help in Creating a sequence

    Hi,
    I need to create a sequence which starts with the value one more than max value of one of the columns in a table. Can anyone help me in this regard?
    Eg: I have a table 'User_Details' with one of the columns as 'ID', I need to create a sequence for this table which starts with one more the 'max(ID)' if there are any records already existing.
    Thanks,
    Raghu

    Assuming that you have some way to identify which columns of which tables will be populated by sequences in the new release, the you could write PL/SQL code to automatically generate this. In this example I have assumed that you need a sequence created forthe (single) numeric PK column of each table in a particular schema, and that the sequence name will always be table_pk_seq.
    DECLARE
       l_max NUMBER;
    BEGIN
       FOR r IN (SELECT c.table_name, cc.column_name
                 FROM user_constraints c, user_cons_columns cc
                 WHERE c.constraint_name = cc.constraint_name and
                       c.constraint_type = 'P') LOOP
          EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'SELECT COUNT(*) FROM '||r.table_name INTO l_max;
          l_max := l_max + 100; --just to be safe
          EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'CREATE SEQUENCE 'r.table_name||'_pk_seq '||
                            'START WITH '||l_max||' INCREMENT BY 1';
       END LOOP;
    END;John

  • One sequence for multiple lookup tables?

    I am sorry if this is off-topic, however can anybody advise what is better - use one sequence for all tables (lookup tables) or to create unique sequence for each table?

  • Error while creating Access Sequence (output)

    Hi,
    While creating Access sequence (for an output) i.e. Access Sequence - Accesses - Fields (at this point)
    I am getting an error (I/O) in the field.  The field value is WERKS and not able to go further.
    I created a table for output billing and criteria fiels are sales area and plant.
    Please guide me in this regard.
    Thanks and regards,

    Hi Praveen,
    I created a condition Table xxx and selected fields (Sales Area, Plant).  While creation of access sequences for an (output type) at the Fields level i am able to see all the 4 fields but with the field WERKS it is showing an error.

  • Loading the different result sets in the same sequence for the target table

    Dear all,
    I have 5 tables say A,B,C,D as my source and i made 3 joins P,Q,R .the result sets of these 3 joins are loading into a target table X but with 3 different targets with same table name.
    I created one sequence say Y as my target table has primary key and mapped to three different targets for the same target table which i need to load.
    But after deployed and executed successfully ,i am able to load the data from three join result sets with differeent sequence numbers.
    I am looking to load data like this.
    If First Result set P has 10 Records,SEcond Result Set Q Has 20 and the third result set has 30 records then while loading data into first target it creates the seq for the 10 records from 1..10 and while loading the data for second result set ,it creates the sequence from 11 ...20 and while loading the third target with the third result set it creates the sequence from 21 ----30.
    But i am looking to load the three result sets in the sequence 1to 10 but not like creating fresh sequence for each result set.
    how can we achieve this in owb?
    any solution for this will be appreciated.
    thank you
    kumar

    My design is like following
    SRC1
    ---->Join1--------------------------->Target1( Table X)<-----Seq1
    SRC2
    SRC3
    ----> Join2----------->Target2(Table X)<----Seq1
    SRC4
    -----> Join3 -------> Target3(Table X)<-----Seq1
    SRC5
    Here the three 3 targets are for the same Table X as well sequence is same i.e seq1
    If the First Join has 10 rows ,Seq1 generates sequence in 1 to 10 while loading target1
    But while loading second target,Same Seq1 is generating new sequence from 11 but i am looking to load target2 and target 3 starting from sequence 1 but not from 11 or so.
    As per your comments :
    you want to load 3 sources to one target with same sequence numbers?
    yes
    Are you doing match from the other two sources on first source by id provided by sequence (since this is the primary key of the table)?
    No
    can you please tell me how to approach for this?
    Thank You
    Kumar

  • How to create a sequence in oracle forms6i

    Oracle forms 6i
    Hai All
    I am working in leave application entry so i need to create a sequence for giving a unique number for each entry
    Pls tell me the steps how to created and how to call the sequence from database
    Thanks in Advance
    Srikkanth.m

    Hi,
    Create sequence <sequence_name>
    Start with <number>
    increment by <number>
    in database
    eg:- create sequence test_seq
    start with 1
    increment by 1;
    in forms
    you can assign value in pre-insert trigger
    Declare
    cursor cur_seq is
    select test_seq.nextval from dual;
    begin
    open cur_seq;
    fetch cur_seq into :item_key ; /* :item_key give name of ur primary key field*/
    close cur_seq;
    end;

  • How to have diffenrent automatic number sequences for diff OU projects ?

    Client requirement is to have different project numbr sequence for diff OU's in the same BG . How can this be implemented?

    Hi,
    The Project number has to be unique across the OUs. But Iam not sure how you will achieve it. Since having different sequence numbers will cause issues(it will create overlapping project numbers and hence you will not be able to create a project)
    But technically it is doable. The way is given below. But it may cause issues in having project number to be unique across OUs.
    1. Make the Project Number 'Manual' for all OUs.
    2. Create one sequence for each OU.
    3. When creating Project through Forms/OAF, use custom code to populate the project number automatically
    by accessing the correct sequence, depending upon the OU.
    This is just a thought. Let me know if this works.
    Have fun !!

  • Best "Capture" workflow for projects mixing HDV tape and XDCAM footage

    I'm trying to determine the best workflow for projects that combine XDCAM and HDV footage.
    I'd obviously do the editing in a project designed for XDCAM, as that's the higher quality footage,
    and render the HDV clips in the XDCAM timeline...ending up with an XDCAM end product.
    I'd use SONY'S XDCAM TRANSFER to get the clips into FCP.
    My question concerns capturing the HDV footage in this scenario. I've never been able to get
    the Log and Capture feature for HDV footage to work, unless I've created an HDV project and am capturing into that HDV project.
    So, generally, I create an HDV project, open the log and capture utility which is now set to capture HDV, and then capture the footage. I then close that project and create a new project, designed for XDCAM footage. I use XDCAM Transfer to get the XDCAM footage into the project, and I import
    the previously captured HDV footage into that browser and start editing, rendering the HDV in the XDCAM timeline.
    My question...do I really have to open, what is essentially a "fake" HDV project just to capture that HDV footage? You don't seem to have the option of capturing HDV footage (out of a camera or HDV tape deck) directly into an XDCAM project. If I try to change the capture or audio video settings of the XDCAM project to HDV, you get messages saying you can't do it.
    Is there something I'm missing or a more streamlined way of doing this?
    Thanks in advance for any input.

    No need to jump through these hoops. Just set yourself up with a universal Easy Setup that will handle both. Choose your regular XDCAM HD Easy Setup then open the Audio / Video Settings window and change the Capture Preset to "HDV" and the Device Control Preset to "HDV Firewire" ... then click the "Create Easy Setup" button and save it for recall whenever needed.
    Regarding the overall workflow, I'd seriously question the idea of creating XDCAM HD masters. No real benefit to that unless you need to export to XDCAM HD. Much better would be export your final master as Apple ProRes 422.
    Best

  • Cannot create HDV, AVCHD or Cineform sequence

    Hi,
    I think this came with last patch my colaborator and  I can't create HDV, AVHD or Cineform sequence on one of his machine; just DV.
    Any idea how to fix this ?
    Vista 64 Ultimate
    fresh install
    updated to last PP CS4 patch
    Thank you.

    Seriously, the problem is with your preferences.
    On Vista do this:
    Navigate to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Pro\4.0 and delete (or drag to Desktop) the entire 4.0 folder. It will get rebuilt on the next PPro CS4 launch.
    On XP do this:
    Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Adobe\Premiere Pro\4.0 and delete (or drag to Desktop) the entire 4.0 folder.
    On Mac do this:
    Navigate to Users/[username]/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/4.0 and delete (or drag to Desktop) the entire 4.0 folder.
    Next, navigate to Users/[username]/Library/Preferences and delete the file com.Adobe.Premiere Pro.4.0.plist
    Be aware that on the PC the paths above point to hidden folders. So you may need to enable "Show hidden files and folders" in folder options. If you're not sure how to do this, check the Windows help files. Once you've deleted or moved these files, launch Premiere Pro 4.1 again. You should now see the missing presets and editing modes.
    This is new behavior for Premiere Pro CS4. If the preferences indicate that there's something wrong with an importer, it blocks access to the importer and the presets. This was behavior that I saw fairly regularly during the beta cycle of the 4.1 update. It sounds like a few of you have run into it as well.
