Mix differente version of admin tools with OS X system

I'm not pretty sure if admin tools can run on a different version of Mac OS X oprating system. For example, I was trying to run Workgroup manager 10.4.11 on Leopard 10.5.6, but it crashed when I changed to other location(Local/Search/Other...). Another example, I put Leopard 10.5.6 NetBoot image on OS X 10.4.11 server, but it doesn't work with diskless option one, client computer just freezs with gray screen. So I wondered if this is a priciple, run only the version of application is same as the version of OS X operating system. Any suggestion?

Point 1: try turning on "Show large images" in your preferences. In Acrobat for Windows, it's under the Page Display preferences. I'm not sure about OS X.

This installation will be logged here : \Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs\ check if its error'ing out or trace files will be helping.
No GUI when you running the runinstaller.exe and admin and compatible mode ? BTW What is your OS, Java and System config's

I have not installed or tried installing on Windows 8 so i would say may be installing a oracle vm with downgraded os version of windows 7/below and run the OBI client installation or wait until Oracle releases a supported installer version.

I have installed weblogic 6.1(sp1) & weblogic portal 4.0. I was unable to start due
to license error. I executed updatelicense.cmd. I can start portal with system/weblogic
password. I am not able to logic in to admin tool with system/weblogic. What is wrong.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Environment is windows2000.

    André is right.
Something I find useful if you are like me and keep forgetting
what user/password and URLs to use, you might want to consider
pointing your browser to the default page for the server: http://localhost:7501
This will forward to the welcome-page of the default web appp and
the page provides links to the differents tools and samples. It also
has a reminder of the username/password combinations on the left hand side.

  • TREX Admin Tool (Stand-Alone)

    Hello-
I am new to the forums, so if I am posting in a wrong area please let me know so I can correct this; thanks in advance for your patience.
Now the question.  I am interested in using the TREX Admin Tool (Stand-Alone) to manage our multiple TREX 7.0 and TREX 7.1 systems.  Can anyone tell me where I go in the market place to download this tool and any links to the documentation on this tool.
I have already found SAP Note 766516 and the following link on help.sap.com on the subject:

    Hi Nathan,
the Python based TREX admin tool (stand-alone) is part of the TREX 7.0/7.1 installation. You do not need to download it seperately, when you have downloaded and installed TREX.  Note that also a transaction TREXADMIN exist by which you can start the ABAP based version of the TREX admin tool in the SAP System if you are using TREX by an ABAP application via RFC.
For docu how to start and how to use the TREX 7.0 admin tools see:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/3f/fcb705c1ce131fe10000000a114cbd/frameset.htm
There will be also an admin docu about using TREX 7.1 by NW 7.0 applications. This docu will be available on SAP Help Portal as of NW 7.0 SP14 during January.
For the most current info + docu about TREX and TREX configuration see also:

  • Visual admin tool&configer tool

whta is main difference of visual admin tool&configer tool

    Hi Raghava,
This is a post by some gentleman, I tried figuring out the thread but could not succeed.
    VISUAL ADMINISTRATOR
The J2EE Engine Visual Administrator is a graphical user interface (GUI) that enables administration of the whole cluster, all cluster elements, and all modules running on them. It provides remote monitoring and management of managers, services, libraries, and interfaces working on each element in a single GUI
    Visual Administrator includes functions for:
    a) Obtaining general information about a service, manager, interface, or library (for example, its name, group, and so on).
    b) Logging on to the J2EE Engine via the Visual Administrator tool
    c) Administrating and changing the properties either specific or common for each service or manager
    d) Configuring the global properties
    e) Runtime administration and control.
Read out more about its features on VISUAL ADMINISTRATOR.

    CONFIG TOOL :-
The Config Tool enables offline configuration of the J2EE Engine cluster elements. It is XML-based and allows exporting the system configuration for later use.
When you run the J2EE Engine Config Tool via a GUI or text-only interface, it connects to the database and scans the server configuration. The information provided is passed to the corresponding interface that is used for configuration.
Each change you can perform corresponds to a particular task in the Batch Config tool.
All modifications made using the J2EE Engine Config Tool can be exported to an XML file for later use.
    two types:-
    a) GUI Config tool :- The J2EE Engine GUI Config Tool enables offline configuration of J2EE Engine cluster elements concerning serviceu2019s and manageru2019s properties, adding new server processes, changing Java parameters, exporting the system configuration to an XML file, and so on.
After installing the SAP Web AS Java, a configtool directory is created, containing a configtool script file. Double clicking on this file starts the Config Tool.
    b) Text Only Config tool:- The text-only Config Tool enables you configuration of J2EE Engine cluster elements using a text-only based interface. It enables you to change the cluster element properties, JVM settings, add new elements, export the system configuration to an XML file, and so on.
After installing SAP Web AS Java, a configtool directory is created under <SAP_install_dir>/<system_name>/<instance_name>/j2ee, containing a consoleconfig script file. Double clicking on this file starts the text-only Config Tool.

  • I cannot log into the admin tool

    Hi Vu,
Have u tried the option of Config Tool?.
i think u can use config tool for offline administrations.
i think u have to run the configtool.bat file which is located in the configtool dir , which is in the same directory as of Visual administrator.
i have not tried this particular problem using config tool.
    please gothrogh this link.

  • Admin tools on Lion to Snow Leopard Server on Mini

I recently purchased a MacMini Server with Snow Leopard Server and have everything working fine - except when I went to install the Server Admin tools on my Lion laptop - it would not let me!  How do I manage my server?  Currently, I have been using screen sharing to do everything - not the most efficient way - but I have my server up and running.
If I got the Remote Desktop on my Lion laptop, would that help me manage my server - just want to know, before I go and buy it.
    Thanks,
      -- Nash

I believe you can only use 10.6 Server Admin tools with 10.6 OS.
With Lion OS, you can only install Lion Server Admin tools: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1419 - however, this may perhaps worth with 10.6 Server, although I haven't tested, but it may be worth a shot.
Apple Remote Desktop is not going to help you much in what you're trying to achieve - it is not designed to replace Server Admin tools, it has a completely different function.  It simply allows you a convient way to do screen sharing, copying files, executing unix commands - all of which can really be done through the built in screen sharing applications or via ssh in Terminal.
Apple Remote Desktop will not allow you to directly change DNS, Mail, etc. settings.  It will only allow you to get onto your server's screen where you can open Server Admin tools and change the settings directly on the server - no different from screen sharing.

  • Admin tool 10.1.3.4.1 hangs with Vista

I am trying to log in to the Oracle BI Admin tool through an ODBC connection but it hangs on the login screen. Other members on my team are able to log into the environment and the only noticable difference is that I am using Windows Vista on my PC. This was for an upgraded version to 10.1.3.4.1. I was previously able to login through ODBC through 10.1.3.4.0. Are there any differences or additional configurations that need to occur in order to login?

Windows Vista 32 bit is supported, not so sure about 64 bit. Which version are you using?
On 64 bit Windows there are 2 odbc data source admin utilities.
    (1) Windows\system32\odbcad32.exe
    (2) Windows\SysWOW64\
Can you check that your data source is defined in both?
I believe that Oracle BI EE Admin tool looks in (2) for the odbc data sources. Whereas the Oracle client that you install looks in (1).
The following link offers advice on getting 64 bit Windows and OBIEE working:

  • Admin Tool - BI Server Different Versions???

I just stated working on a development project where I have the Admin tool loaded to my laptop and am connecting to a remote repository. My laptop is running Win7 and the Admin tool version is 10.1.3.4.2, the BI Server is on version 10.1.3.4.1
I am wondering if there are any known issues when using a newer version of the Admin tool compared to the BI Server. I am having some problems that seem quirky rather than outright issues, and thought it may be due to the version difference but not certain.
    Thanks
    J

In the other way, if you try to open a repository version 10.1.3.4.2 with an admin tool version 10.1.3.4.1, you will get a error message.
Normally, you have an ascendant compatibility and then the admintool version 10.1.3.4.2 can open and manage a repository version 10.1.3.4.1.
    Cheers

  • Lastest RAID Admin Tool (Version 1.5.2b3) Download

I notice that I am running version 1.5.2b3 of the RAID Admin Tool on my Xserve running 10.6.8 (Server).
I went online because I wanted to download the latest version for my imac too but can't find any reference to that version.
Right now I am using version 1.5.1 of the RAID Admin Tool on my imac running 10.6.8.
I did also look on the 10.6 Admin Tools Install Disc but can't find it on the disc either
(I looked thoroughly and maybe I am missing something)
    Question 1:
Where can I find version 1.5.2b3 of the RAID Admin Tool?
    Question 2:
What is the most up-to-date/latest version of the Xserve RAID Firmware and where can I find it for download?
Thank you very much in advance for any feedback.
    Message was edited by: HiEd

Under Raid Admin if you select the components tab you should be able to see the current firmware version.
Acording to this article 1.5.1 comes with the latest firmware in a file version. You need to use raid admin to select the file and perform the firmware update.

I currently have Tomcat 5.5.17 installed. I downloaded the Tomact Admin Tool for 5.5.x and did the zip extract it put the content into 5.5.25 level folders. Can I copy that content into the corresponding 5.5.17 folders or do I need to upgrade my version of Tomcat? I don't want to move 5.5.25 content into 5.5.17 folders and then find out that they don't mix and match.
