Hello everyone since I upgraded to ML I have problems with slowness turn off my macbook pro i7, first with lion goes off in a few seconds now it takes more than a minito. I also did a clean install but the problem is not solved

You can use Assistive Touch. Settings App > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > ON > tap new white screen button > Device > Lock Screen. This can be used to turn iPhone OFF, hold down on the Lock Screen icon until "slide to turn off" appears. To turn iPhone ON, connect to power, charger or USB port of computer.

How to switch off SAML with WSRP

I want to integrate SAP EP as a producer fpr WLP 10.3.2 as a consumer. For that I want to switch off SAML stuff since I want to start simple.
Any hints how I can switch off SAML and how I can use username and password instead?

I made the changes to mentioned but SAML is still on.
I started a test with the OpenPortal WSRP project (https://wsrp.dev.java.net/public/Download.html) on Glassfish for the producer.
Below you see a Wireshark recording (OpenPortal WSRP). The SAML stuff is still there,

Does your phone switch off suddenly with a full battery?

My iPhone 5 suddenly just switches off although it can be 45% charged.
The only oddity about my set up is that I have a Mophie Helium with it and I don't know if they have some problem together.
Does anyone have a similar problem?

Mine just did the same thing EEEK when i checked it at 2am So i plug it into charger and nothing and then into a lappy and nothing FREEEK!so i Google the issue(God bless you Google) home and power brings up my apple and then it froze and conflicted for for a few moments it seemed and then booted fully? Finder running slow with SSD and NAS on Mavericks

I'm having serious slowness issues with the Finder in Mavericks. Initially I thought it was because I upgraded from 10.8 to 10.9, but I'm still having the slow finder issue in a clean install of Mavericks.
I thought this was related to my NAS, but it also seems to be the case with my SSD.
Here is what I've done so far:
- Clean install of Mavericks done.
- Tried the following fix from this site: http://osxdaily.com/2013/11/13/fix-finder-slow-high-cpu-use-mac-os-x/
to rebuild the “com.apple.finder.plist” Finder preference file.
rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist&&killall Finder

If the crash started right after you added RAM, it could be a bad Ram dimm. You can try this - change the amount of RAM in Photoshop to 4G, this should stop Photoshop from using the higher ram. If it doesn't crash, it's probably the ram. Or run a diagnostic app. You don't say when it crashes, what you're doing when it crashes - it there a pattern? Did it ever work on this computer? Did it work on your previous computer? Without a lot of data, it could be related to the new computer... What OS version? Did you recently update it? Have you updated Photoshop to the most recent update?
Do you have any plug-ins loaded? Try restarting Photoshop, and immediately press & hold the shfit key to turn off plug-ins.

These features are most likely result of faulty battery. Make Genius reservation and take to Apple Store for free quick battery diagnostic testing.

Is there a "nice way" to switch off computer with ETS on? The only way I know is to hit the power button, but that doesn't sound too good.

Everything running on an RT machine, kernel, drivers and so on is designed so that you can just shut it down, so the "nice" way to shut it down is by power off . As to how you can tell if an application is running that can be done by programatically (in the application) making a LED blink or you can tell by looking at the CPU load. Alternatively you could try using VI Server to query what is loaded in memory.
While it is possible to reboot the controller via the RT Restart Controller VI, there is at this time no way to shut it down the same way. If you really wanted to shut down you could try using a controller power strip (3rd party) that you can programatically order to turn off the power, but that is not any nicer than pressing the power button.

Try and isolate the issue. Check if it's only with this drive.
Check the drive with Disk Utility

KM4M M|B - Switching off USB printer REALLY slows system

I've searched and found many USB problems on the forum but none that seem to match this one. I have one external USB device - an Epson Stylus Photo R300. With it switched off, the PC works fine. Switching the printer on everything stays ok and the printer works. However, when I switch the printer off, the PC almost grinds to a halt. After about 10-15 minutes performance comes back - keeping the printer off or switched back on, or removing the USB cable makes no obvious difference to this. With the printer switched back on I get an error message if I try to print
Using the sysinternals.com process viewer (I'm on Win ME) shows typically 98% idle. control/alt del shows nothing timed out.
The printer has built in SD /MMC memory card slots.- using the Windows system info tool the USB tab shows the following (before the printer is switched on for the first time)

After switching the printer off, the Epson composite device and storage device x 2 components remain reported for about 15 minutes (takes about 5mins just to refresh the system info window). Then the epson devices disappear - presumably timed out and performance is restored. If I switch the printer back on during this period or after (when performance is back) none of the Epson USB components are detected in system info USB window.
So it looks like the epson USB storage devices are not being shut down correctly and as a result cause the problem - but how do I fix this? I have the latest MSI and Epson drivers applied.

I see from other threads that my PSU ratings are too low (took advice from PC world 'expert'). What is the minimum acceptable/recommended?? my CPU is AMD running at 1333Meg. Using the MSI Core center application it reports CPU core -= 1.74v, 3.3v=3.3, 5v=5.13 and 12v=11.64

Thanks for the direction - I found the other thread and did some experimenting.. The root cause of the problem was that I had ULEAD Photo Explorer 8 installed and configured to automatically detect cameras - presumably switching off the printer caused ULEAD to slow down the PC as it was still 'detecting'. After disabling the automatic detection I can switch the printer on and off and on without problem (and it prints!)
I did do the following checks to get there and found (with ULEAD still set to automatically detect).......
It didn't matter if a memory card was inserted in the printer when it was switched on, but as soon as one was inserted the printer detected it as did Ulead (an annoyance).
Switching the printer off with a memory card still in meant everything worked - no slowdown
Switching the printer off with the memory card removed (or never inserted) caused the slowdown
I think this problem is probably relevant to any automatic memory card detector, but thanks for the help in getting to the fix.

1. The iPod Nano (4th Generation - 8GB) switches on, only when connected to USB power by showing apple logo and displays Menu options thereafter..

3. NOTE: it displays "Battery Fully charged" icon on the screen without any "Lock" icon.
4. After 5-sec to 10-secs the screen deems off.. i.e. goes to sleep mode.. And thereafter would probably remain like that (sleeeping) for eternity!!!!
5. It Switches off after WITHOUT DISPLAYING any Apple Logo immediately after disconnecting from USB Power.
6. In other words, it can be switched on only through USB power in spite of battery being fully charged.
7. Interestingly, it syncs with iTunes. It is recognised in iTunes (Latest version 11+).. Displays on screen all commands Like.. syncronising, connecting, connected,
8. Allows to add Music, videos like a normal ipod & displays all status information in iTunes.
9. Read Trobleshooting & Tried all 5R's. Registered, Resetted, updated & Restored to iOS 1.0.2
10. It is now displaying to select Language in place of Menu options, with no access through click wheel, centre button whatsoever... Problem still persists

Sounds like Spaces is being activated somehow. With the wired keyboard and mouse in use, select the Exposé & Spaces control pane in System Preferences, click the choice in that pane for Spaces. See what the settings are. There are some activation settings in that pane - by default, F8 activates it.
It could be that the bluetooth keyboard has some stuck keys and is activating Spaces; or that the activation command has somehow been reset to something that the bluetooth mouse, or bluetooth itself, is triggering.

I am working with low cycle fatigue testing at Instron 8801 and are
using Instron Fast Track2 LabView LCF software for controlling tests,
read the files, calculate modulus, etc. and produce figures. For
heating of the specimens during LCF-tests I use induction furnace with
Eurotherm 2604 controller. The problem I have is how to stop or switch
off the induction furnace when the test is finished?
I would be very grateful if You have any suggestions how to solve this
problem.

That depends on how you want to turn it off. I am not familiar with the Instron Fast Track, but the Eurotherm can be controlled directly from Labview using the modbus comms. When the test is finished, you can send a reset program command(if a program is running), or send a different setpoint, etc.
If you have digital outputs available on your computer, you could wire one of them to a digital input on the 2604 to do just about anything.
If you have the OPC version of Eurotherm iTools, you can control the 2604 with Datasocket connections.
Please give a few more details, and maybe we can figure out the best way to do it.
