MLBTV - fine on iPad, iPhone - ATV2 - no bueno

I don't get it.
Comcast business line in my home. 50MB down 15MB up. Guaranteed.  I am an engineer so I move very large files globally overnight. No throttling here.
MLB is my relief from CAD - unless I have to use my Apple TV2.
Streaming MLB games is pitiful 75% of the time on my ATV2.  It's directly connected to my Comcast router via a Cat5e cable at 100MB.  Same router feeds my wireless access point.
I can view and enjoy games on my iPad and my iPhone (you know - because I spent incremental money getting the applications for each of them) - but the same game on my ATV2 is unwatchable.
I don't mean I'm not thrilled I can't see the type of tobacco the players have in their mouths - I mean the pixel issues, pausing, dropped audio/video, hard reboots in the midst of a game, buffering issues etc are all very obvious and distracting on my ATV2.
What's going on?
I happen to have a Roku (which I got before the ATV2 was released specifically for MLB.TV) and I cannot replicate the issues the ATV is having.
I see that I'm not alone - but, in the new world of Apple tech people actually reading these forums now - can anyone shed any light?

Whilst the iMessages account has seemed to prefer iCloud type Apple ID  it does not use the iCloud servers.
As the app logs in the ID and password is checked against what is "registered" with the iMessages server.
What is known is that there are two (at least) issues where the Mac version does not Login properly but the iOS devices can.
One is obvious as it gives this Error Message.
The second is very close to this but it appears to Log in then every contact returns a "Not Registered with iMessages" error message.
This has been further complicated by Text Forwarding Linking and the use of SMS when the Account then tries to send it via SMS.
You most likely will have to contact Apple Support.
You will need to explain that you think you have an Account issue with the iMessages server for your Mac.
Unfortunately the Level 1 people you get through to initially are very Script led and try to fit you into either Software or hardware issues which need Apple Care or payment.
If this happens Ask to speak to a Level 2 person and ask them to check.
The bit that is different about the Mac is that it uses the Serial Number to create a validation key that allows the login.
The iOS devices don't do this.

    Other people have been having similar problems with songs over a number of days.
    Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
    If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

    I have an IPad 64 3G and yesterday i buyed an Apple tv 2.
    I work in wifi and video, photo, podcast work fine from iPad to' atv2 but if i try to use the IPod app (from iPad) for my music that is on iPad, this NOT WORK !!! And i must to power off the iPad if i want to use it to browsing again !
    The iOS iPad is 4.2.1 and atv2 is 4.1.1.

    In regards to the browser slowness, that would be an iPad problem. Have you tried posting in that section?
    Airplay from the browser is not fully supported as of yet, only native music/video player and youtube
    This will expand with the next update
    I have an iPhone and use the iPod app to airplay to ATV2 all the time with no issues
    So I don't know if that means there's a problem with iPad in general or if it's in your setup, someone with the device would have to chime in there.

    Steps: Fire iTunes from PC, then connect iPhone, did app updates in iTunes, but did not sync with iPhone (the # updates stays the same next to "APP Store").
    It worked fine for iPad App updates. I tried connect, disconnect, did not work. I also read some posted comments, but still cannot resolve the problem. Please help. Thanks!

The Sony display works through my TV, the set up screen is there but it says no devices found.     Have you tried contacting your ISP for support? Can you confirm that the email is suppose to be over Port 110 and not 143, or 995/993?

  • I have my ipad, iphone, and macbook pro all synced together.  I receive all my emails on the macbook and iphone just fine, but don't receive all emails on my ipad.  Some go to Trash because it says they're improperly formatted.  What gives?

    I have my ipad, iphone, and macbook pro all synced together, which generally works fine.  I receive all emails from senders in my address book in my Macbook Pro and iPhone, but some end up in Trash on my iPad, with the message, "This message cannot be displayed because of the way it is formatted.  Ask the sender to send it again using a different format or email program.  text/plain"  They appear to be mainly from competing platforms, android, etc.  Is there a workaround for this problem?

    If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically  Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.

    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iOS device connect before?
    Try the following to rule out a software problem:                 
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
