I would suggest you to discuss the business processes with your seniors/ colleagues. Spend some time on SDN where you actually see the what kind of real life problems may come during implementation (yeah, you can treat them as end user problems). Last but not the least ... think logical ... you'll surely be able swim once thrown in water

End user question

There must be a simple answer to this but I'm not seeing it.
I created a sample application from an account with Developer privs.
I now want to create an Application End user. I clicked the Manage Application Express Users link for the workspace.
I then created a user, entered password, left the Accessible Schemas field blank (it says NULL for all),
User is a developer is set to no, User is an administrator is set to no.
Account Availability is set to Unlocked
Require Change of Password on First User is set to Yes
I save the user.
I then log out and attempt to log in with the new user account.
It prompts me for a new old and new password twice as I expected.
Once I save the changes, I get:
Logout
Access denied by Application security check
Return to application.
What do I need to set in the user account to allow this end user in?

As far as I can tell, the answer is no.
The fields that have values in them are:
Name: which is set to Application Express
Description:
Session Not Valid Page: 101
Authentication Function: -BUILTIN-
Logout URL: wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.logout?p_this_flow=&APP_ID.&p_next_flow_page_sess=&APP_ID.:1

The Audition 3.0.1 and earlier forum is new, split off from the Audition CS5.5 forum. I migrated over the recent threads that were obviously about Audition 3.0.1 and earlier, but there's no easy way to move the whole mess over.
This doesn't impair anyone's ability to search for old threads or use old links to these threads, so this shouldn't actually affect anyone's functional use of the forum.
If (when) older threads are reawakened by someone responding to them, I'll see them and move them over to the 3.0.1 forum.
This is the same thing that we did when splitting the Premiere Pro forums into version-specific forums, and it only took a couple of weeks for everything to settle out.

It takes me back to steps that have already taken of locating down load file double-click to mount the disk image; double-click install Adobe reader; agreed by clicking open; entering name and password and clicking okay.
Did this several times with no success.

Hello,
I am assigned a project in building a CF application. As far
as the business requirements, I have an idea from the MIS people.
However, I have a meeting with direct users and I have to ask
questions to add to my requirements. I am still a beginner in this
but I need to ask questions.
Can anyone give me tips? what basic / important questions?

For starters,
DO:
Ask them to discuss what they want to do with the application
Try to understand their level of computer literacy
Keep your conversation non-technical
Continue to interact with the users during the design and
development process
Try to identify a "champion" with whom you can interface as the
project progresses
DON'T:
Use technical terms or discuss technical issues
Talk down to them
Promise delivery dates until you have documented their
requirements and they have approved them

Aperture end user certification question

Can I take the end user cerification without taking a course for it? My understanding was for that level 1 certification, I could use the Luna & Long's Pro Training book to prep and then just go sign up for the test. However, when I tried to do that it told me that I didn't have the privledges to take the test.

I'd like that too, but mine is a re-certification exam with no class required.
I'll will be in Irvine sometime this summer for the CompTIA CTT+ certification. (That one elevates Adobe end user certifications to Instructor certifications.)
I wish I was visiting to the Mother Ship in August, but that's probably when I'll be in Irvine.

Activating a Windows 7 installation (for an end user) as a MS Registered Refurbisher.

I have applied to join the MRR program and have passed the test and am awaiting approval.
I was reading in the MRR manual that MS prefers that a refurbished PC is set up with sysprep so that the end user has to accept the license agreements and activate before using Windows.
However, the manual went on to say that the Refurbisher can choose to activate windows as a courtesy for his customers as long as he configures the PC to display the license agreements when the end user uses the PC for the first time.
This is probably a stupid question, but how is this achieved? Can Sysprep be somehow set to retain the activation information?
Or is this achieved using one of the tools on the OEM Preinstallation Disk or with the RPK tools described in the MRR manual?

Regarding to sysprep, the activation information will be removed or I mean it doesn't work (even the reference PC is activated) when you deploy the image to other computers.
This is the exact sentence from TechNet website
You cannot make an image of an activated Windows installation and duplicate that image to another computer. If you do, Windows fails to recognize the activation and forces the end user to reactivate the installation manually.

For a Refurbished PC, the PC has two labels; either the original Certificate of Authenticity (COA) label the PC manufacturer installed or the Genuine Microsoft Label AND a COA from the PC refurbisher. for manually activation, the end user can only use

You could try the forum or even [Scripting Languages|/community [original link is broken]; here on SDN to get closer to the front end, but I guess the "expert level" would need to be quite advanced before an end user spends more than just a careless mouse-click there.
Otherwise there is the [SAP Design Guild|http://www.sapdesignguild.org] which has a lot of interesting things about the UI. However they closed their forums because of spam, and now point to . Downside: Not much action going on. Upside: You could become top contributor and will a free entry to SDN Community Day with just one post.
Another option worth taking a look through is the [BPX category|/community [original link is broken]; where you might find some .ppt programmers hanging out.

Any substitute for End User License?

I have the trial version of Acrobat XI Pro. On my bank website (as one example) I can't download a PDF file without entering the End User License Agreement, which I understand from a previous question is not available unless I purchase the app. Is there no way, then, to test the app on such situations? Can anything substitute for the agreement license?

I have little familiarity with the workings of Acrobat, at least little enough to have no confidence in offering more than an idea ... it sounds like you have Acrobat designated as the default program for opening PDF files. I don't know how to get around that, but one thing you should be able to do is to right click the link for the pdf file and choose Save Target As. That should allow you to get the file downloaded without Acrobat getting in the way.
If you continue to have issues with testing out Acrobat you should try posting in the Acrobat forum. Folks there are definitely more focused on matters of how it works and to make it work for you. Here's a link if you wanna try there...

Use of contribute for end users

I am new to the Adobe world and have searched for this answer
on this forum without luck. Pardon if this question sounds silly,
but does contribute need to be installed on every machine you do
edits on via this application? Or can it be installed on the server
and it allows the user to access the app that way to do edits to
the website from any browswer on any connection?

As a conclusion so far, there is nothing available out there that can solve this for us easily. We do have all the information available in SWI1 etc, and will have to go through the nitty griity job of developing reports and presenting them in the portal. I can imagine we might have a challenge presenting the reports in a understandable way for our end users.

Find Task usage for end user

I want to use find task functionality on enduser interface. I configured a link for findtask.jsp on end user page. But on selecting the link; it redirect to admin user interface and prompts for login. Any idea why it's redirecting there and what can be done so that it works on the end user inteface only. The idea is to give this functionality to end user so that he is able to search any workflow task in IDM.
Let me know if anybody has provided similar solution or used this feature on end user interface.

End user control panel for Mac OS X server

I have searched and searched, then I read and read. It has been 4 days now and I have found no answer to my question. Is there an end-user control panel for the OSX server? I host many sites and I am trying to set up a server then swich over to it.
I would like to offer my customers a control panel so they can look at logs, add e-mail addresses, access an overview of the domains they have on the server, access (or add) folders to the webspace and set up FTP access to those folders.
I can admin the server just fine. The customers will not be able to do these things with the tools provided. I have looked a cPanel, plesk, webmin, etc. etc. There is just no straight answer if these products will work on my software. Does any one here have an answer or possibly provide a link?

How about iTools from Tenon ? As far as I read in their documentation, they offer the ability to get a web-based end user control panel for your users (see their manual at http://www.tenon.com/products/itools-osx/iTools8Manual.pdf page 83 and further).

I can't say much about their software, I just shortly considered them as a replacement of SA and WGM, but it may what you look for.

Flash Player End User Options

The three options for the end user seem clear: Embed,
Progressive Download, Stream.
But, my question is:
When a client previews a video from our website, at the same
video link is it possible to create an option to SAVE the video
onto a clients computer HI or LOW res, then they can have a copy of
the video to upload onto their own servers for whatever use they
need it for?
Will this require complex coding?

Jabber for Mac - End User unable to Cut & Paste Images in IM

Full discloure: I am an END USER, not an IT admin or anything like that. Not sure if this is the proper forum to ask this question but figured it was worth a shot...
Running OSX 10.9.1 and Jabber 9.2.1.
I am unable to copy-and-paste images into IM conversations with co-workers.
My "cachedPresenceConfigStore.xml" file shows:
"<im_cutandpaste_enabled>TRUE</im_cutandpaste_enabled>"
and
"<screen_capture_enabled>TRUE</screen_capture_enabled>"
...yet these functions seem to be missing from the IM client. As far as I know our organization's service-side policy allows for sending images over IM (confirmed this using the jabber client on a windows machine).
Am I just "doing it wrong" somehow? Is there some special method I need to use to be able to paste images into an IM conversation?
Any help or direction is appreciated.

It appears they disabled it server-side as the button (a paperclip) normaly appears to the right of the emoticon button. While the jabber-config.xml file can block specific file extensions, it cannot disable the feature entirely. This is done within the Service Parameters of the server, which only an admin can see.
