Hi Industry gurus
I am confused.suppose there is question"How can I extend all material to a new plant? This question belong to technical side or function side and why? I will appreciate the response for the same.

This is a Functional question, as this functionality exists in SAP. your answer will be the session code for doing the same and what can be and what cannot be done in that session.
If the question is like how can we do that particular piece of functionality, then that will be a technical question. the answer will be process of copying, getting the table details, how the checks will be made during the copy process etc.

Hi,
I need to collect details for the following Financial Statements for my personnel learning.
1. Cash Flow
2. Income Statement
3. Balance Sheet
4. P&L
Details Includes
1. Data Elements in the Each ( Master Data , Transaction Data).
2. In SAP where (which Application Component in ECC) we will get data.
3. Is there any Standard Business Content Exists.

Hi Diksha,
First of all you should go throgh Annual report of any company.There you can understand the how the financial reports look like.
Now the data element part generally it is made in account group level.( Better if you can collect BPC 340 material).
Transactional data comes from FAGLFLEXT table through data extracter in BI then it goes to BPC cubes through process chain.

Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software. Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7. Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows. Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7. Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
3. VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7. VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows. The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
5. VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris. It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.

DESELECT FUNCTION IS NOT WORKING IN MIRO TCODE

DESELECT function( technical function text is ADMA) to deselect all the items.
        The Deselect function is working well when i do recording, But same is not
working when i execute the BDC. Why?

You may check the attachments in note 1165438 for business function -> technical usage equivalence.
as for usage types, you seem to have listed product instances instead. Perhaps you can also have a look at the product instances -> technical usages equivalences in the attachments to note 1165438
Anyway, the technical usagesI can see right away are:
- SAP Learning Sol-Frontend CP
- XSS Self Services
- SAP FSCM - Biller Direct
- Central applications
- SAP XECO
Netweaver 7 app server ABAP, Netweaver PI, and Enterprise Portal product instances don't have any additional technical usages assigned.
I suggest also the service http://service.sap.com/bfp for a free service that will help you to select technical usages in your EHP4 install.

Need free Oracle Applications 11i technical Tutorials

Hi All,
I've been learning Oracle Application (technical) and need some pointers from you regarding Technical Tutorials.
I've gone through some of the basic tutorials of Oracle Applications and now looking for websites/resources for techical tutorials which can be practiced on Oracle 11i Demo( vision) instance.
Please let me know the resources/pdfs/links where these concepts are explained in a sequential manner as I'm already confused with what to read and what not to read after surfing the net. At the same time, some of the tutorials I found on internet are for Functional training and this created further confusion as I couldn't distinguish between functional & Technical material.
It is not my intend to get hold of every thing, but want to have a fair understanding of Apps & an opportunity to explore/learn other things when I work on projects. So, looking for a course material of 30 - 80 hrs. duration. ( Am I too selective? :) )
Last but not least, I don't have Metalink account and hence need resouces which are free of cost.
Request you all to help me and find me the right resources!

What do you mean by technical? Are you referring to Apps DBA role or Functional role? Please note that there is a big difference between the two roles, and I suggest you refer to the following thread for more details:

If you are planning to move to the Apps DBA (technical) field, I would suggest you start with Oracle Apps Documentation.

Remittance advice functional spec plz

Hi SAP gurus
I have to create a Functional spec to attach a remittance advice FORM (its a functiona spec mentioned in the FORM from RICEF objects) at document level. Below is the requirement given to me to write a functional spec.
"Ability to attach remittance advice to explain residual items is a requirement .So far it is possible to attach remittance at customer level but not document level.Document level attachment of such documentation is desired.Currently it is available for write-off and intercompany.Would like to expand for payments,residual items etc.,"
Can any body explain how to proceed?

SAP ESS/MSS Functional Guide

Hello Experts,
I am new to ESS/MSS, so can anyone provide me with a proper Functional & Technical guide on ESS/MSS, also it would be great if you all provide me with a specific configuration guide on installing ESS/MSS. I have already searched some forums on this, but there was no concrete doc available.
I already have ESS / MSS Configuration (SAP Best Practices for SAP HCM V2.600) (N06) Building Block Configuration Guide & ESS HELP CAESS .
But if you have something more on this then please share.

Maybe you can follow the following steps :
1.you need to identify what is your requirement for the Employee and the Manager.
2. you need to sit with your portal consultant to check out what views are available for the functionality required.
3. You need to create a ess user (your basis consultant can help you to do that by running hruser)
4. you can login onto the portal and check out whether the standard views have what you require or is there some change required.
4. they you can go to the r/3 system and and use transaction simg_sport for getting to mss configuration quickly.
5. Ess configuration you will find at under spro-> personnel management - > employee self service- > service specific settings...
A guide to configure will be very generic and may not directly help. the documentation against each spro node is quite helpful. do write for any other specifics.

SAP BPC 10 Certification - Functional

I have strong functional & domain expertise in FICO.
I am looking forward to train & certify myself in BPC. My basic understanding is BPC is having both technical & functional expertise.
From certification point of view do we have 2 certifications or is it only one certification covering both functional & technical.
My knowledge in BI & Technical is almost nil. How i can prepare myself in this case.

Business functions to be activated after EHP4 upgrade

I have recently upgraded ECC 6.0 to EHP4.The following technical usages were selected during download.
Financial Services,Financial Supply Chain Management and Financials.
Please let me know what all business functions that are to be activasted.
Do I have to activate business functions for EHP2 and EHP3 as well.Below are the BFs for our usage types.

Out of the above FICAX_BILL_INVOICING,FICAX_CI_2,FIN_FSCM_CCD_INTEGRATION,FIN_TRM_INS_HM and FIN_TRM_LR_FI_AN_2 have dependencies like X_CONT or BI_CONT which are not installed on the system.
I guess I can't activate these business functions.Am I right?
And I read that only one BF set is activated per one system.I did not find any BF set related to Finance in the drop down list of SFW5 in the system.Please enlighten me on this topic.

I understand your question - however, how should anyone else but you know whether you need the functionality behind them? This is a business decision.
I suggest you use the documentation (press on the corresponding "i" in SFW5) to see if the business requires the functionality. If yes, enable it, if not, you don't need to enable it.
Some of those BFs will need a BW/BI to work. You have to decide, whether you need them or not.
