Mm issue:-how to deal with gds sent for repairs and again issued for consm

The main problem is that if something come for repairing it increase the stock for one period and decrease the R and M for that period. And when after 4 months when goods are received after repairing it disturbs the R and M expense in another period. And this also disturbs the valuation of the material.
Any one can suggest how to deal with the repairs done to materials without affecting the valuation price of original material.
my points is how everyone in india is dealing with goods sent for repairs outside their company.
what all entries are generated from first receipt of goods in company till good sent for consumption after received from vendor who repaired the goods.
all a/c and mm entries

what we have decided that we would have 2 valuation type
1. sap-domestic :- normal stock
2. sap-use/repair :- repaired items.
All the goods should be received using sap-domestic valuation. from here goods are sent to shop floor. when ever repair is required goods are received in stock thru sap-use-repair at value zero and not moving price specific to sap-use/repair valuation.
so till goods that require repair and that already repaired are kept in stock, they are kept at 2 different values one is zero and other is moving price specific to valuation type sap-use/repair.
now goods are sent for repair at zero value but when these goods are received after repair then value of repair will affect the moving price of valution sap-use/rep.
so this will solve our problem that goods should be received from shop floor to stock for repair at value zero.
how can we achieve this that goods received from shop floor to stock for repair is received at zero value and not moving price specific to valuation sap-use/rep. where we will have do setting in this vaution type or wherever required.
pls send some suggestions on it

What version of Windows? If you are just using Vista and W7, you can use 24bit PNGs with proper Alpha channels as your icon resource. I think they prefer straight Alpha, but you may laso be able to use black or medium grey on the RGB channels hen it's premultiplied. (there's a guide somewhere on MS' developers' pages). For XP you are of course stuck with palette-based BMPs/ ICOs, which is no different than when creating GIFs or 8bit PNGs in PS. Generally, though, you may wish to work with a dedicated editor like Axialis Icon Workshop, especially when needing to create multiple versions of an icon. The rest is out of your hands. Some icons will always look frizzled, if the user applies an all too wild color scheme. It's just how it is....

How to deal with dynamic IP address changes

I have installed Fodero C3 and Oracle 10g successfully. Oracle 10g use web OEM console to manage database. However, my internet provider only provided me a dynamic IP address. When I installed Fedora C3, Linux server automatically picked a Hostname like " ip12-345-678-90.dc.dc.cox.net". After I created database, all database files also used this hostname. Then Oracle web OEM console worked fine. Due to the dynamic IP address assigned by ISP, their DHCP server changed the first part of IP address(ip12-345-678-90)frequently to another one. After IP address changed, I couldn't start up web OEM console and listener because they couldn't find correct hostname (IP address). I have talked to my ISP. It seems that it can not be solved. Anyone knows how to deal with this problem through 10g and OEM console themseleves. I also think about to configure Linux server to solve the problem. I really need your help. Thanks in advance

Thank all of you so much to respond my questions. I think I have solved the problem. Since the key point was that Oracle 10g OEM console could not work with the frequent changes of IP address made by my ISP. I just bought a 54G wireless router. Then connecting router to cable modem. The cable modem still gets the dynamic IP from ISP, but the router automatically assigned a static IP address to my Linux system with the range from 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255. This IP was control by my router. It is nothing to do with ISP. So I re-created Oracle database with this new static IP. Then OEM console and listener can startup and connect to database without problem. I do think other guru's methods also will work. I just have no time to try them one by one. Thanks again. Your inputs make me learn many things.

Nowadays, most of new GPUs were support power-saving, but when sniffer_gpu running at GPU power-saving state, the OpenCL computing report maybe "time-out", cause the detector "guess" the GPU does not support OpenCL. This is why many people says "OpenCL" sometimes work, sometimes grey-out.
I hope this bug can be fixed, or at least people can understand how to "enable OpenCL everytime when you launch photoshop".

How to deal with tiny text size on the display, especially in email?

I got a Macbook a week ago. I have been using a Windows laptop for about 5 years. Before that I had a couple of Mac desktops.
All in all I am very happy with the Macbook. I haven't had any of the problems which have come up in these forums, unexpected shutdown, bad DVD drives, etc. One thing I love about mine which I had not seen mentioned before I got it is that the Macbook (or mine anyway) is absolutely whisper quiet. I cannot hear the hard drive doing anything. My Dell laptop sounds like a construction site in comparison.
The main issue that is vexing me has to do with the high-res, small-size display. The combination of those two factors means that the text size onscreen is often so small that even with reading glasses I have serious eyestrain.
Back on my Dell this was a lot easier to deal with. In Internet Explorer and Outlook Express, there are very simple settings in the menus to make text sizes better. And this is really important -- those text sizes are remembered after you close and restart the program.
So far as I can tell, that is not true (in general) on the Mac. I find this shocking, since Apple makes such a big deal about the simplicity and usability of the Mac.
Specifically, in Safari I went into preferences and reset the fonts. A little more complicated than in Internet Explorer but it basically works alright.
With Apple Mail, though, it is really troublesome. There is no remember-able setting to increase the text size for viewing (that I can find). And the on-screen size of 12 point text in an incoming email in Apple Mail is just absurdly small. It makes me wonder if Apple is taking bribes from the American Opthalmology Association. This is going to ruin my eyesite pronto.
Of course I can hit Command-+ several times when viewing each email to increase the text size to a readable size. But what a pain.
Is there a way to make those settings rememberable?
Otherwise I like Apple Mail. But I really prefer not to have to hit 6 keystrokes when looking at each email just to get it to a reasonable size.
I looked at the help files for Mozilla Thunderbird. They seem to indicate that program works the same way.
How about Eudora? Any others? Any suggestions much appreciated.

Hi Jeff, thanks for your careful attention and your comment.
But I have to point out you've missed what I'm talking about.
In OE, in the View menu (right on the menu bar, not under Tools>Options) there is a setting called "Text Size" which allows you to set the text size for viewing and composing (independent of sending). That makes it very easy to make the text easier to read on small screens. It does not "change the appearance of the formatted text so that it no longer corresponds to the intent of the sender". It merely makes the text bigger or smaller, like a magnifying glass.
Via email I had some back and forth today with another poster here discussing this. You might be interested to see the email he sent me in which he included both Helvetica 12 and Helvetica 14. I took a screenshot of the email he sent me (from Apple Mail). When I read this email in Apple Mail with the "Message Font" set to Arial 18 (which is the size I need it set at for readability), Helvetica 14 is displayed at a smaller size than Helvetica 12.

Here's a test I did, and this is what really matters to me.
I sent two emails from Windows/Outlook Express. For one I set the default composing font to Arial 12. For the other I set the default composing font to Arial 18.
When I downloaded and read these emails in Apple Mail, sure enough, the Arial 18 font appears much bigger than the font in the Arial 12 mail.
Then I did the reverse. I set the "Message Font" in Apple Mail prefs to Arial 12. Sent an email.
Then I changed the "Message Font" to Arial 18 in prefs and sent another email.
Then I downloaded both these emails into Outlook Express.
On OE, font size is displayed exactly the same in both emails.
So that's good -- I know that Apple Mail, whatever the setting in "Message Font", is sending some sort of "standard" font size. (By the way, I have Apple Mail set to send Rich Text Format mail). My correspondent tells me that Apple Mail doesn't send "true" HTML mail, and Outlook Express does, so perhaps that explains this.
Okay, no big deal. But if I were a graphic designer and I wanted to know for sure that my carefully crafted email styles were getting through, I might be going bonkers because of this.
But I'm not a graphic designer, and for the moment my concerns are assuaged.
And I accept the wisdom of your advice to "go native". I'm trying, I'm trying...

How to deal with credentials for external applications using a Java Client/

This is the case. I am integrating an external application with an ADF Application. I have implemented some programmatic ViewObjects that are being filled up by a REST Java Client Wrapper. Everything is working fine but the issue is that the credentials the wrapper is using are hard coded inside the java class. I am thinking to ask for the credentials at the beginning of my taskflow and then store them somewhere and use them then to create my client wrapper (passing them in the constructor).
However, I don't know if my approach is good and I would like you to share your experiences or how to deal with this.

Actually, In the "Process External Bank Statement" window, i see that there are few entries which is for the previous year and which has not been reconciled. I have never worked practically on BRS and hence, i am scared to make any changes in the clients database without being confident on what i am doing. I need to reconcile for one of their Bank a/c for the month of April '08. I have the copy of the statements for the month ending 31st Mar 08 and 30th Apr 08. The closing balances are as below:
31/03/08 - 2300000.00
30/04/08 - 3100000.00
Now my OB for Bank a/c for April '08 in SAP is 2300000.00 Dr.
When i go to External Bank Reconciliation - Selection Criteria Screen (Manual Reconciliation), here are the detail that i enter:
Last Balance: INR -7,000,000.00000 (Grayed out by the system)
Ending Balance: INR -3,100,000.00000 (Entered by me)
End Date: 30/04/08 (Entered by me)
"Reconciliation Bank Statement" Screen opens up and shows the below balances in the screen:
Cleared Book Balance: INR -7,000,000.00000
Statement Ending Balance: INR -3,100,000.00000
Difference: INR 3,800,000.00000
As per the Bank statement, i have found all the transactions listed out here for the month of Apr '08 but, i also found that the open transactions for the previous month from April '08 have been lying in "Process External Bank Statement" window.
Could you please help me solve my issue as to what needs to be done or could you also get me some links from where i can get few documents for processing External Bank Reconciliations?
That will be of a great help for me. I need steps as to what needs to be done first and then the next so that i can arrive at the correct closing balance for the month April '08.

IMac SSD full - how to deal with the two drives

Greetings all,
I've been using an iMac i7 with two drives SSC and HDD. Recently, I've been having issues with the SSD being close to full. I use it for applications only, although some apps need lots of space (iTunes, iMovie, Photoshop, etc.) I use Lightroom and have all the images on the spinning drive. Does anyone know how to deal with this issue? Any way I can move the music from iTunes to the separate drive, or any way to figure out what exactly is using most of my space?

If I understand well your problem, you need your client java application to store and retrive information from an oracle DB.
This can be done via JDBC.

I am storing text messages in a PropertyResourceBundle as follows

I made the above file in MSword using hindi fonts
The folllowing text is supposed to be in hindi

but it does not show the text in hindi it still shows in English but when I open the above text file in MSword it shows the text in hindi

No the above values are not place holders Infact in order to type EmailAddress and Password in hindi I had to type the above keys. so when I put system.out.println in my jsp page it does not display any hindi text but the above keys which i used to type in order to display hindi text in my txt file.
But I think i am not going on the right track should i type the unicode values for hindi text which is of the form \udddd in my property file. I have the unicode chart for hindi fonts so I can look up the chart and type appropriate unicodes(\udddd) to display Email Address and Password in hindi. Or am i still not getting how to do it? If not then please tell me how did you create your hindi property file. Is the following that you typed in your property file or is it the output of converting your property file into unicode using native2ascii

How to deal with multiple language SQL script?

Hi All,
We now want to create a SQL script that contains multiple languages(English, Chinese, Japanese), this script need to be run at there different database installed on different OS, for example, Oracle9i on Windows 2000 English Edition/Chinese Edition/Japanese Edition.
If I save the file as ANSI format, this file will only be recognized at local OS(e.g. the Chinese and Japanese character will not be normally displayed on other OS, if I run the script, the CH/JP characters will not be stored normally in DB).
If I save the file as Unicode format, this file can be recognized by all three OS, but Oracle SQL Plus will not recognize it, thus we can't run the script.
Who can tell me how to deal with this issue? Is it possible to save only one script that can run on different language OS?

Hi,
The ISQLplus supports multiple languages, but there will be following problems for my case:
1.ISQLplus don't support Unicode format script too, so I must save the file as ANSI format.
2.To display the characters normally depends on the database server's platform. I create a script contain three languages with ANSI format in Chinese OS, but if I want to load this script to database server installed on English OS via ISQLplus, the Chinese characters will not be displayed normally too.
PS:
So, I think this is not only related with Oracle but also the Windows OS, it is hard to create one file with ANSI format that can be displayed normally in different platforms.

How to deal with generated programs in eCATT SAPGUI recording?

Hi experts and professionals,
I am trying to automate testing of our solutions by eCATTs and so far i have not been able to find solution for following problem.
Whole test scenario is very simple:
Check InfoProvider data (query, lookup, listcube,...)
Create DAP on InfoProvider
Archive InfoProvider
Check InfoProvider data (query, lookup, listcube,...) again
Compare results from step 1. and 4. (must match)
Reload archived data
Check InfoProvider data (query, lookup, listcube,...) again
Compare results from step 1. and 7. (must match)
As you can see, one of the required test steps is to check InfoProvider's data in transaction LISTCUBE.
But transaction LISTCUBE generates its program "name" every time it is executed and
I am struggling to find a way how to deal with these generated programs in eCATT SAPGUI recording.
Key is that solution must be generic and work for all SAP BW releases from 7.0 upwards
(having in mind that LISTCUBE can read NLS data from SAP BW 7.3 release).
Error description from eCATT log:
Screen Check Error: Expected Transaction: LISTCUBE, Actual Transaction: LISTCUBE.
Expected Program: GP0KOZE7EFIUBN10MZUFWX90W80, Actual Program: GPBP24INA6VV77SL0XKU5NA642O.

Dear Igor,
Your issue is caused by the "screen check" which eCATT processes here.
In General this screen check is a very usefull activity, since is ensures that only those screens are processed by automation, which initially where recorded. This should ensure as much as possible to invoke only intended activities.
Remember, that the driver of the screen flow is still the automated transaction program ( but not the test tool). So application logic decides which screen is send next.
Using screen check the test tool tries to ensure that menu items and buttons and other activities are only automated when the tool "believes" to work on the intended screen.
For generic test scripts and often in context of generated programs the screen check might hurt a bit.
To overcome this, one might try to make the check dynamic (as Sheetal suggests correctly).
If here the name of program cannot be determined for any reason, one can use another method and do following:
- Change the value of ProcessedScreen-Active to 'R'
This will disable/skip the screen-check for this ProcessedScreen.
Sure the solution includes a certain risk, since not checking the correct screen to appear might lead to automation of actions with not desired impact.
Maybe this can improve your solution.

We plan to use Oracle Coherence (In Memory Data Grid) for a large-scale application. In order to keep the database table data in Coherence caches, we will create all the corresplonding Java objects (entities) and construct the persistence system using JPA/EclipseLink+JDBC. In this way, any in-memory object update will be persisted to the corresponding database tables.
The problem is that some existing application codes are updating these database tables directly now. If the direct-database-table update is not permmited in the persistence environment, we have to discard most of the existing application scripts.
I want to know, in this situation, should I discard most of the existing scripts?
Are there any other solutions?

Allowing writes from both cache & DB is possible with its own set of issues.
The main issue to consider is conflicts from updates on same record via both cache and DB. If your caches are write-through the conflict decreases - but then cache writes become slower. If your caches are write-behind potentially the older cache update will overwrite the latest DB update. Now you are back to Database 101 -- timestamps, versions, etc...
If you use a DB trigger to initiate the resync request you might want to distinguish whether the update has come from the cache-store (in which case, you may choose to do nothing), or if the update was from the 'existing apps', etc...
If you choose to inject the resync logic at the application code level - you have the usual sourcecode issues - can you modify the code, is all the DB code localized, what options do you have to link with Coherence functionality (DLL, external proc, webservice, etc), etc... Naturally though, if you have to make substantial changes to signal a resync....you might consider taking the extra step and change the code to write to the cache.

How to deal with images when detecting/resizing screen?

I am trying to learn how to detect screen resolution and
resize a flash movie to those dimensions. The one thing I'm
wondering first is, how to deal with images in the movie.
Do I need a variety of different movie sizes that I serve up
depending on the resolution, or is there some way of linking to

as far as I know this has always been a bit of an issue when
using
images inside a scaled movie. If you display a high res image
inside a
scaled down movie, flash can't "reoptimize" it so the image
looks
jagged. Of course the other way around is even worse..
Serving images based on the screen res could be possible if
you detect
it using javascript but could be a night mare to maintain and
test it...
I guess the questions I would ask myselkf are:
1. what is my audience? What resolution the majority of them
will have?
2. Is there anyway I can keep the image size fixed, and scale
to fit he
rest of the design?
3. How much time do I have to implement the customized
version?

There is no possiblity of making your Process enabled Org as EAM enabled, and you must have to create a Discrete Org where in you can make this as EAM enabled.
In R12/11i Process Enabled items/inventory items are dealt with only process, and that is the reason we can maintain an Assest item to Process enabled org which is a constriant. Hence it is adviced that, create an Inv Org (Discrete) and Enable this for EAM.
