MM Period error .

Dear Experts ,
I am trying to post an entry in a new period , that is period 2009 002
The OMSY shows that the current period is 2009 002 .
When i am posting a GR with the posting date in the current period the system shows the following error.
"Period 002/ 2009 is not open for account type M & GL account 24100050"
Pls tell me what could be the reason ?

Hi,
This is a Financial Period Locking .done at te Period setting at Finance in OB52.
This setting can be done for
+     Valid for all account types
A     Assets
D     Customers
K     Vendors
M     Materials
S     G/L accounts
V     Contract accounts
so in your case it is for the Account Type M.means it is a Material Master Lock .
So you have ot define the same,against the Material Master ,it is been locked for the GL that was maintained through Valuation class in OBYC.
So in OB52..maintain the valididty for M in the company code your working and try it out.

SQL Server does not exist or access denied - periodic error

Hi There,
For the last week or so, I have been getting periodic errors on my sites powered by MSSQL databases. The error message is as follows:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
Usually, a quick refresh, and everything works fine again.
My host doesn't know what has caused the issue, but has dug up this microsoft link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907264
Most of that tech speak is beyond me! I use Dreamweaver - does anybody know if the standard dreamweaver connections or cursors contravene the advice on that page, and if so how to fix it?
If not, does anybody know where to look to solve this issue?

I had this same problem and on a hunch I deleted the brackets
so that the connection string instead of being,
"Persist Security Info=False;Data
Source=[THESERVER\SQLEXPRESS];Initial Catalog=[AdventureWorks];User
ID=[ATEST];Password=[kjdkjdkjd]"
is now,
"Persist Security Info=False;Data
Source=THESERVER\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=AdventureWorks;User
ID=ATEST;Password=kjdkjdkjd"
This was in Dreamweaver 8.

Fi posting error due to fiscal period error 1

HI SAP GURUS,
I am trying to post TR6 Challan in todays date & getting following message-
Fi posting error due to fiscal period error 1
Message no. 8I216
Diagnosis
Attempt to post the document in a period outside the current Fiscal
period setup.
Procedure
Change the posting date or Change the fiscal period prior to posting
the transaction under consideration.
please help me to resolve the issue.

This error is due to Posting period is not open in FI check the posting period is opened for all the accounts in OB52 then post the entries

Periodic errors authenticating caldav/carddav

I'm having users from iCal and via their iPhones get periodic errors while trying to connect to our MacOS X Lion server. The caldav logs show an odd error:

So it seems that ocacssionally, the connection to OpenDirectory simply fails. Has anyone else run into this problem? We have about 50 devices hitting this server and when it happens, iCal prompts the user saying their password is invalid and asks them to enter their password again which is subpar to say the least.

We work-around it using what Jonathan Miller posted. Specifically:

SSRS 2008 Column Chart with Calculated Series (moving average) "formula error - there are not enough data points for the period" error

I have a simple column chart grouping on 1 value on the category axis. For simplicity's sake, we are plotting $ amounts grouping by Month on the category axis. I right click on the data series and choose "Add calculated series...". I choose moving average. I want to move the average over at least 2 periods.
When I run the report, I get the error "Formula error - there are not enough data points for the period". The way the report is, I never have a guaranteed number of categories (there could be one or there could be 5). When there is 2 or more, the chart renders fine, however, when there is only 1 value, instead of suppressing the moving average line, I get that error and the chart shows nothing.
I don't think this is entirely acceptable for our end users. At a minimum, I would think the moving average line would be suppressed instead of hiding the entire chart. Does anyone know of any workarounds or do I have to enter another ms. connect bug/design consideration.

I was having the same error while trying to plot a moving average across 7 days. The work around I found was rather simple.
If you right click your report in the solution explorer and select "View Code" it will give you the underlying XML of the report. Find the entry for the value of your calculated series and enter a formula to dynamically create your periods.

What I'm doing here is getting the row count of records returned in the chart. If the returned rows are greater than or equal to 7 (The amount of days I want the average) it will set the points to 7. If not, it will set the number to the amount of returned rows. So far this has worked great. I'm probably going to add more code to handle no records returned although in my case that shouldn't happen but, you never know.
A side note:
If you open the calculated series properties in the designer, you will notice the number of periods is set to "0". If you change this it will overwrite your custom formula in the XML.

SAP posting period error while mainting stock in MB1C

Error Description:-
While I am maintain the stock in MB1C i got an error i.e.
Error:- Postingonly possible in periods 2006/12 and 2006/11 in company code CLC1 ( CLC1 is mycompany code.)
To resolve this error I did some pre-requisite,
First :- In OB29, I define my fiscal year variant ( Here, I copied the K4 andrename S4 and save )
Second :- then, in OB37, I Assign fiscal year variant to company code.
Third :- I define variant for open postingperiod, ( Here, I define my ownvariant to use the following menu path - IMG-- FAFinancialaccounting global settingsDocuments-- Posting periods--Define variant forposting periods).
Forth:- in OB52, i define the open and close posting periods ( Here, in new entries i choose my variantwhich i define in 3rd step and define myperiods).
still system not allowing me the current dated posting, then i use the following step to resolve the error,
I mgoing to MMPV for close the periods. (here I closed all periods, month wisetill 2012/01).
stilli got the same error, so Icheck MMRV & OMSY, weather postingperiods change or not.. ( Here, systemshows me backdated posting periods i.e. 2006/12).
Kindly help me to resolve this error.

Validity period error while creating Service Entry Sheet.

Hi SAP experts,
Users are facing below two error messages while creating serivce entry sheet with respect to Standard PO (NB).The PO has RFQ refrence where Validity start and end date is blank. Also PO has Item category 'D' (Services)
1) "Runtime of entry must fall within Run time of the PO (05.12.2008-05.01.2009)
2) Entry must be wihin validity period of purchase order (05.12.2008-05.01.2009)
In the EKKO table system is showing validity start and end date for PO but it is not present in the PO (NB) by ME 22 / 23N.
Basically standard PO (NB) should not have validity start date and end date but still it is showing in the table EKKO.
Kindly provide me related resolution ASAP.

There is no Validity period maintained in the PO header under "Additional data".

Posting Period Error

I created PO and Migo and after that when i am raising MIRO with Credit Memo. Following Error occurs
Error Message :
Allowed posting periods: 06 2008 / 05 2008 / 12 2007
Message no. M8022
Diagnosis
The posting date is not within one of the allowed posting periods.
This can be due to one of two reasons:
The correct current period has not been set in the system.
For the system, the first of the specified periods is the current period. At the beginning of a new period, your system administrator must change the current period in the material master record using the function "Close period". This has not yet been done.
You have entered the wrong date in the field "Posting date".
Procedure
Check the posting date and correct it if necessary. If your entry is correct, inform your system administrator that the "period closing" procedure has not yet been implemented
Even When i closing Periods its not allowing to close the periods.
Kindly suggest me the solution.

FI period not open now.
1st Check in MM side in T.code: MMRV and see which period is open for ur Co.Cod .
Now in FI side use t.code: OB52 and open the 07, 2008 period in Account Types A, K, D,M, S and specially Account Type u201C+u201D which stands for valid for all accounts type and save.
Now try ur transaction.
Note: Check Fiscal year variant in OBY6, hope it is K4.

COGI Posting period error

Hello,
I am in the process of cancelling one of the confirmations made on the date 22.01.2006.
I have cancelled the confirmation, because of period issue it posted to the COGI. In COGI it throwing this error message.
In plant XXXX, post to current period 2010/02
I try to change the posting date as 12.04.2010 line item changes to green. But when I click save system throwing (0 goods movements have been successfully executed)
Please guide me what date I have to choose so that I can do the postings in the previous period.
My MMRV settings are as below.

You cannot post the record in past as the period is closed
execute COGI, select the error record & click on date icon
here you change the posting date to current date & save
So record gets posted in current period

POSTING PERIOD ERROR URGENT

I am getting the error is POSTING PERIOD 012 2007 IS NOT OPEN. Please solve my problem.

Please check your Company Code posting period in MMPV, you may have to check and close all the period or months one by one from the period given there, till 2007 curent month. You can also check it up for status alternatively in OMSY. Note : Period refers to months in accounting.

Posting period error in MIGO

Hi Friends,
I am getting the same error while doing posting a GR for PO as
" Posting only possible in periods 1998/06 and 1998/05 in dev server. I checked in OB52 for opening periods. It starts from 1st month of 1998 to 12 2010. The fiscal year variant for CO Code is V3. I gave posting date as 15.6.1998 but still the same error comes.
PL help to resolve this.

Press inside execute button
System will show you message that the period is nt current period jus after taht press main execute button..
Go on opening till you reach the current one...
Can check the open periods in OMSY

According to the data you have provided u are using V3 - fiscal year i.e. Apr - Mar.
Followed by India and some other countries.
As far as your error solving is concerned, please check the date for which you are posting. May be it is in the future 4th month (i.e. july for V3) probably. That is why the system is giving in the error. If you change the date to june then the problem will be solved.

Is it possible to default the current period radio button or not to go to the settlement of trip data screen when saving the travel request.

Remote SQL Server weird semaphore timeout period error

I'm using SQL Server Express 2012 in a home server using no-ip service.
I tried to setup home server to allow remote so I can access home server in my office.
after following a walkthrough, I can register my server to Registered Servers, and tried a query "select * from users", it's worked and I can see the data return.
Test connection is also ok, telnet ok, ping ok, website try open and query ok.
but when I chose "Object Explorer", the management studio took a little time and return this error

"Incorrect period" error while executing J1INQEFILE

Hi
I am running J1INQEFILE. I gave company code as 1000.
Fiscal year 2011.
Period: 09 (as december is 9th month of FY 2011)
Fiscal Period: 01.12.2011 to 31.12.2011
Clearing Date: 01.12.2011 to 31.12.2011
When i press enter, it gives error: Incorrect Period and cursor moves to Fiscal Period.
Please tell me what is the error. I am trying for invoices that are posted in december 2011.

Deepak, are you follwoing the FYV of April to March?
If yes, Q3 is fine.....if not you need to select Q4.
Second thing is...Have you done the J1INCHLN transaction for those Vendors?
If yes, are they appearing in J1INMIS and J1INBANK
If yes, let me know we will work on solution
