  • Updated link to Java Card Development Kit and related documentation

Note that the right link for Java Card Development Kit and related documentation is
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javame/javacard/download/index.html
    It used to be
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javacard/downloads/index.html
which is still on-line, but the links there are dead and sometime to obsolete stuff.

If you don't have those directories, obviously, you don't have the source release with cryptographic extensions. You have a different release.
The version you downloaded isn't a source release but you still have the full kit.
For the src release, contact $un for a license.

  • Mass Printing of Works Orders and Related Documentation

    Hi everyone,
I have a very peculiar problem, and any pointers in the right direction will be appreciated.
If this is not the right forum, please point me into the right direction.
The problem that I have is this:
I print multiple Works Orders (Plant Maintenance) at a time.
Linked to these work orders are Equipments etc. and linked to the Equipments, SAP DMS documents. When priting the Work Orders, the sequence of the related information (e.g. documents) are random, i.e. a user will need to sort the prints to match the Work Order with it's relevant documents.
Essentially, what I need is: print #1 W/O with attached docs, then print #2 W/O with attached docs, then print #3 W/O with attached docs
Any ideas at what I need to look at?
You can imagine if I print 400 works orders and all the documents related to it and it in not collated.
    Thanks.

Can you let me know what transaction / process which you are using to print work orders, In case if you are using any transaction then we will check for user exits / badis so that we may enhance the standard functionality.
    One more suggestion is you can post in the forum: [click here|SAP ERP - Logistics Materials Management (SAP MM);
    Thanks

If yes,can i get any examples and related documentation
    on the above features ?
    Thanks for time and help
    Regards
    Raja

The user that owns the cubes and dimensions must have the role OLAP_USER so that the OLAP API can view the required information which is actually stored in a series of tables owned by the user OLAPSYS. This schema is usually referred to as the CWM catalog. I think the OLAP documentation explains the views that are part of this schema.
At risk of being rude - why are you creating a relational model? It is much easier to store your model within an 10g R2 Analytic Workspace. This is much more performant and provides greater functionality compared to ROLAP solution.
Watch out for Enterprise Manager (OEM) when deleting cubes and dimensions. I have had some very bad experiences with OEM not removing all the elements of a dimension or cube from the CWM catalog, even though the nodes in the OEM navigator tree do not show any dimensions or cubes.
Then when you try to connect to an OLAP schema with BI Beans you got some very serious java exception errors relating to corrupt metadata. At this point you have to use the OLAP PL/SQL packages to clean up the CWM catalog to remove all the invalid dimensions and cubes. It is not that difficult to do just takes a bit of time.
    Hope this helps

  • XI Implementation documentation

    Hi All,
Before getting my team members into an XI implementation project, we would like to browse through some XI implementation documents.
where can we find related documentation, that we can use as basis during the project.
Our team consists of ppl from java background who got trained and xi certified from SAP.
    Thanks,
    Ganesh
    (g22sep)

    Hi,
    XI Implementation Methodology Worksheet
The steps (1) through (4) can be viewed as prerequisites. They can be completed before the XI system is even installed onsite. This will greatly reduce the implementation time. Typically these are also the most time-consuming steps of the project. Multiple tasks can be done in parallel. This should be reflected in the project plan.
    1. Scenario Analysis
Description of the business scenario to be implemented.
What types of backend systems are involved (mainframe, SAP, etc.)?
Is this a new development or a replacement for an existing interface?
    Deliverables
    High-level scenario description.
Description of existing scenario implementation, if applicable.
    Description of XI-based scenario.
    Resources
    Technical architect
    Functional architect
    XI product expert
    Corresponding XI Activities
Create entries in System Landscape Directory, as appropriate.
    2. Interface Analysis
Is the interface synchronous or asynchronous?
Does the interface require a technical or application acknowledgement?
For each interface, identify the outbound and inbound messages.
Determine data structures for each message type, as applicable.
Determine flat file format or database structure.
Determine IDoc / RFC / BAPI structure.
    Determine XML data structures.
Provide data samples for each message type.
    Deliverables
    Inbound/outbound message structure definition
    Data samples for each message
    Resources
Technical and functional analysts for each system to be connected
    Corresponding XI Activities
Create interface objects in Integration Repository.
    3. Mapping Definition
Based on deliverables from Step 2, identify mapping rules between each pair of interfaces. This activity typically requires the involvement of business analysts who have knowledge of the business semantics of each interface.
    Deliverables
Mapping specification including source fields, target fields, and transformation rules. Typically this is delivered in the form of a spreadsheet.
    Resources
Functional analysts for each system to be connected
    Corresponding XI Activities
Choose implementation technology for mappings (graphical tool, XSLT, Java).
Implement mapping based on business rules defined in Step 3 and interface samples and metadata defined in Step 2.
    4. Preparation of the Environment
A test environment must be defined. If B2B integration (across the firewall) is involved, then network connectivity issues need to be addressed. This may include the configuration of proxies, reverse proxies, or other devices located in the DMZ.
Preparation of the test environment includes, of course, the installation and basic post-installation steps of the XI system.
If the scenario is to become productive, then a promote-to-production strategy must be defined and the XI environment must be replicated accordingly (i.e., DEV, QA, PRD).
    Deliverables
    XI system is installed.
    Test environment is ready.
Network connectivity is established between XI and all participating systems.
    5. Configuration
There are two parts to the configuration step: backend system configuration and XI configuration.
Prepare backend applications for message exchange. The backend systems need to be configured to send and receive messages to/from XI. This configuration must be such that the application can produce or receive data samples such as the ones delivered in Step 2.
Based on deliverables from Steps 1, 2, 3, configure XI objects in Integration Directory.
    Deliverables
Backend systems are ready to produce and consume messages as defined in XI scenario.
XI system (Integration Directory) is configured.
    Resources
Technical specialists for each system to be connected
    XI specialist
    6. Testing
The end-to-end scenario can be tested with different data sets. The testing environment has been prepared beforehand and network connectivity issues have been resolved.
    Deliverables
    Sign off on scenario.
    Resources
    Technical and functional analysts
    XI specialist

  • Definitions of time-related fields of usage tracking data

    Hi all,
After reading the related documentations on usage tracking, I'm still confused about the true meaning of the following fields:
COMPILE_TIME_SEC The time in seconds required to compile the query.
C UM_DB_TIME_SEC The total amount of time in seconds that the Oracle BI Server waited for back-end physical databases on behalf of a logical query.
TOTAL_TIME_SEC The time in seconds that the Oracle BI Server spent working on the query while the client waited for responses to its query requests.
START_TS The date and time the logical query was submitted.
END_TS The date and time the logical query finished. The start and end timestamps also reflect any time the query spent waiting for resources to become available.
    My questions are:
    1. Is TOTAL_TIME_SEC = C U M_DB_TIME_SEC + COMPILE_TIME_SEC? Why are there cases where C U M_DB_TIME_SEC > TOTAL_TIME_SEC ?
    2. I've logged cases where (END_TS - START_TS) > TOTAL_TIME_SEC. Why would this happen?
Could someone clarify the meaning of these fields for me please? Thanks very much!!
    =================
I have logged the following data with usage tracking, posting here as examples:
    1.
    compile_time_sec = 0
    c um_db_time_sec = 23

  • Documentation missing about iView properties of com.sap.portal.masthead

    Hi,
I configure the available links in the portal masthead. When switching "Show Link in Masthead: Help Center" (property ID: ShowHelpCenterLink) from "No" to "Yes" I get the link "Help Center" in the portal header, but when clicking the link nothing happens.
Is there any documentation how to use/implement this feature?
    Best regards,
    Johannes

    Hi Keshari
I already provided a valid URL but this URL is only being launched when I  choose the property "Show Link in Masthead: Help" (ID: ShowHelpLink).
What I noticed is that when I click on the "Help Center" link in the header, the currently displayed page gets compressed creating about 1/3rd empty space on the page on the right hand side.
How can I configure that help gets displayed in this area?
For "help center" I only found some ABAP-related documentation (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/c2/00976e34ef4397b082acb7d934d373/frameset.htm) which does not contain any Portal related configuration.
    Regards, Johannes

  • JDeveloper documentation concern

Hi, I'm trying to become a java certified programmer, and I had discovered sun java documentation is a mess, you can't compare against oracle documentation for eaxmple, once I finally found it, because it wasn't so easy, the problem I have is you can't print it, some is not enough clear, and definetively there is some dissorder java customer don't complaint,
I didn't understood that sun position, until I read some, I found java's customers see java as a free software, so they don't complaint, instead of that, they feel fortunate of having a class even when it don't work as they expect, because this is like a gift, they don't act like cutomers who pays for something.
What worries me is the fact some Jdeveloper related documentation is going in the same way.
Java has a way to show documentation in html easy to navigate, but doesn't you get the same facility on adobe acrobat?, I'm not telling java api reference html strategy is bad, what I complaint is you don't have a pdf version.
The problem is I use to print the documentation to read it once, and this is simple not possible.
Here is the list of documents only on java.
Business Components Domains Java API Reference     Javadoc
    Controller Java API Reference     Javadoc
Model and Business Components Java API Reference     Javadoc
Business Components Generic Domains Java API Reference     Javadoc
Business Components interMedia Domains Java API Reference     Javadoc
    Or I'm missing something :)
    Thank you

Hi Shay I'm not sure, maybe you could do a survey, to get the database ocp and the developer 6i ocp I printed the reference and read it.
Going to database field several dbas don't read all the database documentation, but this doesn't means there are people who does.
The reason I think you must read at least once the reference manual, is to know what you have to work, this is not about memorizing all the reference manual, because a day after you read, you forget the datails, but you remember there is a function for s,t,w,x task, then one day you need to do that task and you go back to the documentatoin and read that instead of reinventing the wheel.
Or conversely, you need to do a y task urgently, and you know that is not possible, then you don't lose time investigating something does not exists and try to find another solution.
I understand html is more confortable in some situatoins but is true you get the same functionality on pdfs in the bookmark section and you have the facility of the search facility on adobe acrobat listing all the options, it depends on how a person works, even if a person is never going to print a document, work on pdfs is better, how do you do a full search on the api html documentation ? I think it is easier on a pdf.
    Thank you :)

  • Deploying multiple beans & support classes, related questions

I have an application that I'm trying to deploy to the latest JServer with Oracle 8i 8.1.6 on Windows 2000. We used JDeveloper to write the code and to deploy the EJBs. I have some questions and it'd be great if someone can answer them.
All documentation seem to indicate that beans must be deployed one at a time. Is this the case? If not, how?
If so, what is the "correct" way to deploy helper classes which are used by more than one bean?
Is there always only one instance of a class in the database, even though I might deploy the same helper class with different beans? If not, is there any mechanism to ensure consistency?
Can I just update a helper class in the database?
How do I see what classes are in the database? How do I manipulate them (e.g. delete, change, add, view size) ?
Is there an easy way to "clean out" the database of all classes, so as to start anew?
    null

The Java-related documentation was that I was reading. I have a followup question. Is it possible for me to simply deploy some beans without regard for all the helper classes, then at a later point do a load java on all classes that I expect to use, and have it all work?
    Thanks. You've been great help.

    Hi Gerald,
I will take a stab at answering your questions:
    1. Are you talking about the JDeveloper doc, or the Oracle8i EJB doc?
    2. When you create the Deployment Profile in JDeveloper using the Deployment Profile wizard, any classes your EJB depends on should get included in the deployment archive by the dependency analyzer. You can see the contents of what will be deployed by selecting the Preview button on the Sources page of the wizard.
If you want to explictly EXCLUDE a helper class because it has already been deployed with another bean, you can choose the Advanced button. Select one of the Library, archive, class pages on the Advanced dialog, and add the class to the Exclude list. Select OK, then check the Preview button again to make sure it was excluded.
If you are deploying a number of beans that user the same helper classes, the helper classes will get deployed with the first bean, and on subsequent deployments, the process will detect that the helper class has already been deployed and will check to see if it has changed since the last deployment. I believe it uses a timestamp comparison for this, but I'm not positive. If it detects the source and target are the same, it won't redeploy the class.
If you just want to update a helper class for the EJB, you can use the Java Stored Procedure deployment in the Deployment Profile Wizard, include the helper class in the deployment archive, and do not publish anything.
You can use the Database Browser in JDeveloper to see what deployed Java Classes, and EJBs are stored in your database. Double-click on the IIOP connection you used to deploy the EJBs (under the Connections node in the Navigator). This will display the Database Browser. Expand the appropriate nodes to view the deployed objects.
To see deployed Java Classes, double-click on a JDBC connection and expand the Schema node and then the Deployed Java Classes node.
Many operations are available from the context menus in the Database Browser, including Drop. Others you will have to perform from SQL*Plus or the command line. See the Oracle8i Java Developer's Guide for more information on SQL commands and command line syntax for altering Java objects in the database. This doc, and the EJB and CORBA Developer's Guide are available online from OTN on the Doc pages.
You can use dropjava to drop all classes that were deployed in a given deployment archive by specifying the name of the jar file used during deployment. Again, see the Java Developer's Guide for the syntax.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

  • Mysteriously missing documentation netweaver 2004

    Hi
I have a legacy sap system (nw2004, aix 5.2, oracle 9.2, Tivoli backups) and we've recently come to the conclusion that we'd be buggered if we had to restore it from backup as no-one here has any experience of it.  So we're setting up a learning server to do a similar SAP installation on to so we can put some pretend data in it, back it up to tivoli, destroy the data and restore)
should be simple?  unforutnately the master guide constantly refers to "installation guide - SAP Web Application Server ABAP on AIX: Oracle" which we must download to see how to do the install.  but on the NW2004 installation guide page this document does not exist and neither does anything like it.
does anyone know if there are archived copies available somewhere or if it's called something else these days.  As a humble oracle DBA I find SAP stuff inpenertrable enough as it is without them hiding the documentation!
help!  don't make me put a call in - they get annoyed when I put a call in about something that's not actually a bug

    Hi Sarah,
It seems there is such guide; try the following:
    1. Go to [https://websmp210.sap-ag.de/nw04installation]
    2. In the "SAP Web AS" node near the bottom of the page, choose the "SAP Web AS 6.40 SR1 and Related Documentation" link.
    3. Now that you are on the right page for installation guides, choose "Oracle" in step 1, and then the AIX guide you need.
    Hope this helps,
    Rosen

  • Cool Oracle Documentation Tool - Its free!

I found this tool online and I think its great for Oracle developers (especially new ones).
It s a java program that allows you to create HTML page documentation for an Oracle schema (it supports 9i and 10g I think).
I found it very helpful in being able to browse schema objects while writing code - and its works in every OS!
Its not quite as robust as TOAD but this tool just creates the docs. And they are al linked with an index and stuff. Oh, and did I mention it runs on Mac OSX??? cool.....
I downloaded it from www.sqlscribe.com. They dont have much of a site but the link works.

I am looking for Oracle's CASE tool suite for free download like other Oracle softwares. Also the related documentation.
Can anyone tell me the site address.Right now Oracle has 3 official 'case' tools.
Oracle Designer is part of the Developer Suite (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/designer/index.html) is extremely comprehensive, but few bother to learn it properly and many seem to think it is "not best neither ...".
Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/datamodeler/index.html) is the new one, an offshoot of SQL Developer.
Oracle JDeveloper has a built-in UML tool as well as other visualization and documentations tools (especially related to SOA and BPEL), and given that JDeveloper is free that makes this variant the least cost of the three.
There are a lot of other CASE tools on the market, and which one is 'best' depends a lot on what you are trying to accomplish.
For Oracle tools, Oracle Designer is very good if your development platform is ORacle Forms. The built-ins in JDeveloper are excellent if you concentrate on Java, JEE and JDeveloper.
If yo want more discussion around the Oracle tools, go to the appropriate forum.

  • Can I use Creative Cloud for students on more than one computer at the same time?

I get different info when I read about how I could use creative cloud.
Somewhere it say I can install and activate on two computers but only run the applications on one computer at the time.
On antother place I read that I can use the applications on two computers at the same time.
    So what is correct?
Can I install and activa Creative Cloud for students on my PC and my Mac and also run the applications on both computers at the same time?

I already gave you the info you seek, but you don't seem to want to accept it.  Here it is in writing from Adobe's EULA (find it at: General-terms)
    "4.1 Subscription-Based Software License.
If we provide the Software to you as part of your subscription to use the Services, then subject to your compliance with these terms, we grant you a non-exclusive license to install and use the Software: (a) in the Territory, (b) so long as your subscription is valid, and (c) consistent with these terms and related documentation accompanying the Software. “Territory” means worldwide, but excludes any U.S. embargoed countries and countries where you are prohibited from using the Software or the Services. You may activate the Software on up to 2 devices (or virtual machines) at a time, if these activations are associated with the same Adobe ID for the same individual, unless stated at http://www.adobe.com/go/activation. However, you may not use the Software on these devices simultaneously."
You appear to want to believe that because you think you have a way of getting around the agreement without being caught it would be okay to do.  You are bound to the agreement if you purchase the subscription.  Do you understand what intentionally (and with fore-knowledge) failing to honor a contract constitutes?

    Hi Sreenivas and Raju,
there are two related documentations available in oracle, first states it could be a Report Cache issue which needs to be cleared, another one was a bug where patch application was suggested .....
Can you check the references link and confirm that is not the cause ... if not try entering minimal (mandatory) information alone on the interface table and attempt importing ....?
