While doing delete option in SARA T.code for MM_SPSTOCK object i couldnt get the archive file from the archive selection ,clarify the reason for this and how to slove this ?

Hi,
What are the available options in the first screen of SARA? Example is WRITE / DELETE / MANAGE etc.
I encountered a similar case where the cause of error is that I missed out a step before the WRITE operation, I think it's READ or something. If I don't perform this step, I couldn't WRITE anything at all even though all settings and selections are correct.
This happens when I'm trying to archive the second time for another end-user client. The first client has no problem at all. Maybe the sequence is different for another system/version.

Archive Batch master recors MM_SPSTOCK. Problem with MSKA

Hi all,
I am trying to archive zero stock batches from SAP. I use MM_SPSTOCK object from SAP.
I can archive batches with no records on table MSKA. But if one material has records with zero stock records in MSKA I get message "dependant customer order stocks exists". But customer order is ended and record at MSKA has zero values... am I doing something wrong?

it worked!
I had records in MSKA but sales order and purchase order completely finished. I didn't have any stocks in previous period... so, ofter reading your responses I went back to MM74 and I realised that I wasn't mark "another special stocks option"...
I know... a stupid own mistake... sorry.
Then I market that option and I could archive special stocks records at MSKA (as i had no records at MSKU). After that execution, a new one finally archived unused batches. wow!

Mass deletion of batches - SAP Archiving Object MM_SPSTOCK

__SAP Archiving Object MM_SPSTOCK (Batches and Special Stocks)__
Would like to know if there is any standard program or report available through which the batches (to be deleted) can be set with a deletion flag. We are in the process of implementing the archiving object MM_SPSTOCK and the batches have not been flagged. There is no pre-processing job for MM_SPSTOCK that can be used to set the deletion flag for all eligible batches.
This object MM_SPSTOCK does not have any date or selection criteria for the write job. All batches with set deletion flag will be archived/deleted.
We are in the process of implementing LO_CHVW (Batch where-used data) for which imlementing MM_SPSTOCK is a pre-requisite.
Would appreciate any leads around this. Any other suggestions around the MM_SPSTOCK & LO_CHVW will be great.

I am basically looking for a method (program / report) through which mass deletion flag can be set for eligible batches prior to using MM_SPSTOCK archiving object to archving / deleting the batches.

Archiving MM_SPSTOCK Issues with CDHDR Table

We're executing a number of small variants and in some cases it starts to read the CDHDR table sequentially and the job has to be canceled or eventually terminates. Also, in these cases it holds locks and the transaction MIGO fails and batch GR processes terminates. The sequential reading of CDHDR happens if we run one or multiple jobs of MM_SPSTOCK..
Anybody encounter the sequential read of CDHDR and/or the locking issues?
Any help will be appreciated.

No I never faced this issue.
Make sure that you always have the most recent OSS notes applied before you start archiving of any archiving object.

Archive Records using object MM_SPSTOCK, MSKA records not archived.

I am trying to Archive some material using object MM_SPSTOCK, i used Tcode MM74, I have just checked only "other special stock " option and executed. its giving me below error messages :
MSKA: 18345 EN30 EN31 E V57292 000100 unrestricted-use stock exists for previous period
MSSA: 18345 EN30 E V57292 000100 dependent sales order stock records exist
I have checked the stock, its cleared. In table MSKA, i can see one records with 0 stock.
I have also checked the stock using MMBE, but no stock found.
Can you guide me why above errors are coming, because of this i am not able to archive my sales order.

FM MSKA_EXTEND is used to check previous period stock.
the message and I told you already that you have stock in a previous period.
And I told you to read OSS 30656 as this note explains how to remove stock in a previous period.
further I told you that it does not make sense to archive something what is still in use, which is the case for a special stock if it has stock in the previous period.
There is no legal work around.
Please open a message at SAP Support and have them confirm what was said, or raise a developement request directly

MM_SPSTOCK Archive Batch Master and Stock Relevant tables - Display options

We are archiving Batch Master and Special Stock tables. We have batch configuration set up at material level.
We have realised SAP does not provide a infostructure to display through SARI archived batches. Also read program MMREO210 is not very elegant and required the archive session to display further information.
We know that this object allow to archive partially: stock level (MCHB), plant level (MCHA) and finally if all dependencies are okay, batch master (MCH1).
Can we display archived batch data using any standard SAP transaction? As QA03 for Archived Lots or similar.
How should we create the infostructure for SARI access? MCH1-MCHA mapping? We are having problems when only MCHB entry is archived.
We are interested at least in a list of material / batch / plant archived with production date, SLED... key batch master info mainly.

Batch management indicator not able to turned on for a material

Hi all,
We are trying to turn on the batch indicator at material master for which we had inventory in the past. But all the open PO lines, inbound deliveries, open transfer requirements (we have WM too) were deleted. Earlier we were getting under "DISPLAY ERRORs" stock is present in plant level along with open TRs. So, TRs were deleted using LB02 and open PO lines were marked for deletion. No stock is available in MD04, MMBE & LS24.
- I read that previous period posting maybe affecting it but how do I see that as one of the other thread didn't clarify how to determine previous period stock.
- Also, another issue might be due to archiving issue. I am planning to perform SARA for MM_SPSTOCK. Is that requried?
- Finally, we had another part for which we deleted TRs in the system but didn't remove PO LINES. But system allowed us to updated the BATCH INDICATOR at mm level? Is there an inconsistency??

We used the approach in testing in it worked.. but for some reason the transaction is not working in PRODUCTION. I am not able to perform 551 movement type in production system as I keep getting error "Number range is not maintained for the FI document type". But the document type which should be proposed is already maintained in NRIV table. This error doesn't come if instead of doing MIGO with 551 in previous period (date 09/25/09) we use current period then I get the document. We have technical team looking into this as we have lot of customization that determines the FI document type which I think is not working when we try for the previous period.
Any one seen similar issues? I am closing the thread as I think it is the code error and once that is fixed we should be able to perform scrapping in previous period.
If this doesn't work I will try the OSS note program RVBCONVMAT2BM.

MM_SPSTOCK - is for archiving all the Batch related data including speical stocks. This will take care of your Batch Tables MCH1, MCHA, MCHB(own stock) and also all of the special stock tables like MSKA, MKOL, MSKU, MKOP, MSLB .....(if used in your company)etc. You should be fine just using this object

To deactivate Batch Management

Hi,
Requirement: To deactivate Batch management for a material in plant.
I have already done the following:
1: Checked the Status of Article in MMBE for total batches of the article.
2: There are no open Purchase Order (Checked Table EKPO as well as ME2M)
3: There are no Purchase Requisitions. (Checked Table EBAN)
4: There is no Stock in Transit MB5T
5: There is no Plant availability Stock MB53
6: There is no Reservation MB25
7: Previous Period Stock is zero. Use MM03 with Plant Stock & Storage Loc. View. Both previous and current period stock is 0.
8: No Stock requirement exists (MD04)
9: The Batch Corresponding to the plant for the article is set for deletion indicator
(MSC2N)
But after all these when I uncheck 'Batch Management' in Purchasing tab of MM02, i get the message :
The batch management requirement cannot
be changed for the following reasons:
Batches already exist.

Hi,
Please, delete any open documents and reverse any material movements on this material. If batches - even zero stock batches - are still assigned to the material, delete them and reorganize the tables MCH1, MCHA and MCHB. At this point the flag can be changed, also consider that :
1) If you want to change the batch management, it is not enough to
check for stock. You must also reorganize all existing batches for the
material. You can do this using the TA MM73 and MM74 or SARA. After
you have reorganized the batches you should be able to change
the batch management. The Object to use in the txn SARA is MM_SPSTOCK.
(You must first set the deletion flag for the batch using txn MSC2N. )
2) If you have defined the batch level in the TA OMCE to 'unique at
material level' it is not possible to turn off the batch management
flag in one plant. You can can only turn it off for all plants at the
same time. That means if you want to turn it off, the system checks
all plants for the existence of stock. In other words, the batch
management flag will be the same for all plants at any time if you
use the batch level 'unique at material level'.

SAP R/3 Archiving Restore Program

Our company has a need to archive certain objects. We are using version 4.6C. It is our understanding that SAP does not provide a restore program for all objects. Below is a list of the objects that will be archived. Only 3 of the 22 objects have a restore program that we are aware of.
Does SAP have other programs that could be used in the event that we need to restore deleted records to these objects or is there another solutions that could be implemented in the event that we remove records my mistake.

Archive selection can not be maintained in SARA

Batch deletion completely

A batch was wrongly created and it should not exist. We have set the deletion flag for it.
But we want to remove it completely.

MM73 Preparation for Archiving job executed
Archiving Object MM_SPSTOCK
MM74 Archiving job executed. Steps are same like archive material master you will get lot of material for this on SDN.
or simply go to SE38 run program MMREO020 here define the batch number and execute it.
If want to delete batches and special stocks, that is, the indicators "Batches" and "Special stocks" are set for a program run.
Archiving process:
a) Select Action: Archive and enter a new Variant, for example: Z_CONS_ARCH_01, press 'Maintain'
b) On selection screen, select the 'Sequential Dataset' if you selected data as described in the Data Selection step, otherwise enter the material number and plant for the deletion of a single record.
c) Select the fields 'Consignment' and 'Special Stock' and Test mode, if you want to try out first.
This applies for SAP systems prior to release 3.1H: Select also the flag called 'BATCHES'. The SAP program MMREO020 has a bug which can be worked around with this selection. Without selecting 'BATCHES', the archived records cannot be deleted. For systems with applied Hotpackages for 3.1H this workaround is not necessary
d) Press the green back-arrow and enter the description of this new variantt on the screen which follows.
e) Save the variantt which brings you again to the selection screen. Press green back arrow again.
f) To start archiving process (batch-job), press the 'Start Date' button and select the time when you want to start this process. Select 'Immediate' for instant processing and press the 'Save' button on the bottom of the 'Start Time' window.
g) Select the 'Spool Parameter' button and save entries. Eventually enter a valid printer to have the result outputted.
h) You are ready now to start the process. Press the 'Start' button and monitor the success with the 'Job Overview' button
You can also go the 'fast path' by using transaction SE38, program MMREO020 for selecting the data to archive. For large data archiving, use the background jobs and run those during off-peak times. If you run the program online, you will see a confirmation on the status bar telling 'New Archive file created:....'
*Delete Archived Records: *
a) Follow the menu path: Tools - Administration - Administration - Archiving
b) Select the Object Name MM_SPSTOCK for consignment / Special Stock
c) Select the menu button 'Delete'
d) Select the menu button: 'Archive Selection'
e) Click the archive created in previous step
f) Select Start Date for process and Spool Parameters for output
g) Submit selection.
h) Check status by pressing the Job Overview button .

Unable to tick batch management

Dear Expert,
I unable to tick batch management with error:"Consignment stocks already exist at the customer's."
However,current/previous stock is zero and no open document in MD04.
How solve the error?

MSKU table holds the customer consignment stock.
Is that really zero there?
stock has to be zero in current and previous period, as you can post to these 2 periods with MM in general.
If both periods are zero, then youhave no other chance than archiving the special stock using SARA - object MM_SPSTOCK.
this requires customizing of archives.
