Mmc card error on pc cam 850

Hi, please help me why i can not use my 'Infineon 64 mb MMC Card' on my pccam 850? i have never use mmc card before, and this is the first time, but everytime i insert my mmc card then turn the camera on, i get only hear camera startup and the light on, but blank on the lcd screen and i cannot use any button (the camera hang/freeze), the only way to turn the camera off is to open the battery. FYI, the MMC card is ok (i'm sure with that),but if i'm not using any MMC card, the camera works fine (with built in 16 Mb memory). Please help me.
Thanks

  • Alpha 850 card error

The camera was fine yesteday. today I went to take a picture and got a CF card error. tried multiple cards, same problem. cleared the card, same issue. Fully charged battery same issue. What is going on?  The camera was fine.  3 differnet cards have the same problem but work in other cameras.  What do I need to do? HELP.

    Hi mzoricak,
    Welcome to the Sony Community!
I can feel your frustration concerning this issue. Let me see if we can help. Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue:
Remove the memory card from the camera.
Make sure the metal contacts on the memory card are clean.
    Turn off the camera.
Remove the battery from the camera for 30 seconds.
    Reinsert the battery.
    Turn on the camera.
Reinsert the memory card into the card slot on the camera.
If the memory card is still not recognized, try using a different memory card.
Try inserting the card into another device to test if the card is working properly.
Also check the camera terminals for debris or bent pins that may be causing the issue. Check the cards if the lock protection is on.
If the issue is still unresolved, service may be needed for your camera.

  • Error message 'memory card error' with SD card on C5180

Photosmart C5180 displays 'memory card error' when SanDisk SDHC inserted.  (The card is not damaged, it's new & works in camera.)  I've been unsuccessful in finding  answers on HP site.  Any help most appreciated.  Thanks much.

Looking at the product specification, I see "High Capacity" (SDHC) memory is NOT supported on the device:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00701803&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en...
I also verified this with our group in San Diego - SDHC isn't supported.

  • No CF card error - card is fine on PC though

Hi all, I have a EOS 300D (yes I know it's old, but it's good) Since I last took the card out to transfer everything to my PC, I'm getting "No CF card" error when the card's in. At first I thought it must be the card, but I've since put it on a card reader, and it seems absolutely fine. I've reset all the camera settings, and tried to format the card, but it won't read it at all. Any ideas or help please?

Thanks John, I've since seen this problem reported on here for different models. How annnoying, looks like it's off for repair then. Just when I really needed it too

  • Integrated SD/mmc card reader

I have a strange problem with the integrated sd/mmc card reader on my laptop. I know I have everything correctly configured and the needed modules loaded because I can use a 16MB and a 128MB SD cards without any problem. When I insert any of them udev creates the devices:
    From /var/log/messages.log
    mmcblk0: mmc0:1d00 SD016 14560KiB
    mmcblk0: p1
    mmcblk0: mmc0:4125 SD128 123008KiB
    mmcblk0: p1
    and the devices:
    ls -l /dev/mm*
    brw-rw---- 1 root disk 254, 0 abr 10 17:14 /dev/mmcblk0
    brw-rw---- 1 root disk 254, 1 abr 10 17:14 /dev/mmcblk0p1
I can mount the second device and access to the card.
But if I use a 256MB or a 1GB card udev does not detect them and does not create the mmcblk devices. Also no messages in the logs. Any idea of the reason?
The only log is when I remove the card:
    mmc0: Card removed during transfer!
    mmc0: Resetting chip
Some days ago I was still using Slackware and I could read these two cards. The kernel was a 2.6.17, so it may be a bug in the 2.6.20 kernel?
The card reader is a Winbond W83L51xD and the modules required are mmc_core, mmc_block and wbsd.

So this is what my /etc/modprobe.d/mmc.conf contains:
    options sdhci debug_quirks=0x40
    options firewire-ohci quirks=0x10 debug=0xf
and now, on reboot, when loading user-specified modules, I get the same error:
mmc0: Unknown controller version (16). You may experience problems.
and this is what dmesg says now:

  • Corrupt CF Card Error on iMac, but not other computers

I have tried 5 different CF cards from 3 different manufacturers, 2 of which were band new right out of the box.  Took photos using 3 different camera each time formating the cards.
I can download the photos via a USB 3.0 Verbatim card reader to my Mac Mini, or to any of my Windows based bachines with zero problem or error.  But when I try to download the same cards to my iMAC I get persistant corrupt card errors (message says the card was ejected improperly). The card stays mounted, and I can slowely get the photos off the card a few at a time if I eject and reseed the card (properly ejecting).
I never had a problem before, it seems like this cropped up about 2 weeks ago.
I have narrowed it down to the iMAC as the problem, not the cards, not the card reader persay, and I have tried differnt USB ports, they all do the same thing.
funny that I can use that same card reader and cards on any other computer without problem.
Anyone know what might be causing this

Hi, it sort of sounds like a low USB power issue on the iMac, might try an AC powered USB hub...

Of course it could be something else...
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed. Or an errant process eating up RAM.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

  • E65: Sim Card Error!

I have problems with my E65 after upgrading to the latest firmware (v3.xxx)
Every now and then it will prompt me with a message that shows "Sim card error" or "insert sim card".
The sim card is always in the phone. It was never a problem before. Also, I have remove the sim card from the E65 and test it on another phone (HTC) and there were no such problem.
That concludes the problem is on the E65. Pls kindly help.
    Thanks.

I also had this problem on my E51, but have now managed to find the cause. It actually has nothing to do with the SIM card, so don't bother replacing it.
If the phone is kept in one place and isn't moved, the message never appears, but then that defeats the purpose of having a mobile phone!
The problem is caused by the connectors on the battery, which should form a tight grip around the the pin connectors of the phone. The battery that came with my phone never caused the problem, but when I inserted a replacement, every now and then when I put the phone in my pocket, the 'Insert Sim Card' notice would appear
I then compared the two batteries and noticed the replacement's connectors were further apart than the original's. Carrying the phone in my pocket obviously caused some movement, which momentarily disconnected it from the battery and caused the phone to error.
Since then, I have only used the original battery. However, I suspect the problem could be fixed by using a small instrument to bring the battery connectors closer together or by inserting a small piece of aluminium foil to ensure a constant connection.
Not sure, but this may also work for N95/E65 users too.
The E51 is a fantastic phone and the best one I have used to date.

  • DNA Sim Card Error

I have had my DNA since mid February, and started having SIM card issues within a month. After the phone update came out to "eliminate" the SIM card error it went until almost July without one hiccup. However, a few weeks ago I started getting the error about every other day. Now I am having to remove and reinsert the SIM card multiple times a day. I have also learned to restart the phone to fix the issue when its inconvenient to remove the card (which is almost always). I have not done a factory reset because I have seen that it fixes nothing. I am still using the original SIM card because I have seen no results from others replacing the card. Verizon and HTC need to get this figured out ASAP. I will never buy another HTC product, and am strongly considering another company for my cell phone usage. The consumer should not have to deal with this issue, or pay for another phone. We should be compensated and offered out of the contract or an alternate device. What is going to happen if someone has a SIM card issue and cannot use their phone to call the police? Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen...

It's not just HTC devices that have displayed this problem, there is a thread of people having this same issue with the Galaxy S3.  It seems as though the most consistent fix has been to put a small piece of scotch tape on the back of the SIM card before inserting it.  Sounds to me like there is just a little too much play in the SIM slot and the bit of extra pressure solves it.

  • 'Memory Card Error' for PowerShot SX610 HS

Hello, I purchased the PowerShot SX610 HS and bought the 32GB MICRO SDHC memory card. The first time that I inserted the memory card it was working perfectly fine. When I removed the battery for charging and then re insterted it did I then see the 'Memory Card Error' and now I'm not able to use the camera at all. I have tried unlocking the memory card and have removed the memory card and battery but to no avail. Does anyone have any insight into this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not a big fan of using micro SD cards when the camera is intended to be used with standard size SD cards. Try using a regular SD card instead. The adapter may have developed an issue or else the micro SD is not fully inserted in the adapter. I've had a failure of a micro SD card in one of my cameras and switched back to the standard size cards and have not had the problem since. Steve M.

  • MMC cards / Palm

Has anyone been successful with running a MIDP application on an MMC card with a Palm?
An m500 Palm instantly crashes when I try to run the application. It displays an error message stating a failure with MemoryManager.c. I have to then reset the Palm. The MIDP application runs fine when it isn't placed on the MMC card.
If you have had any success, can you tell me if you needed to do any special configuration to the Palm or the MIDP application? What type of Palm were you using? Have you come across any other know issues about this?

Has anyone been successful with running a midlet on an MMC card in a Palm M500? If so, what version of Palm OS were you using? I am using PalmOS 4.0. There isn't any upgrades yet for this Palm. The MMC card is 32 megabytes.
When I run the application, the Palm returns an error to me. The error states that there is a problem with the memory manager. It looks as though somewhere in the Palm code, an error has occured and they are doing a "printf" on me.
If you have been successful, were there any special modifications you had to do to your code? Or were there any settings you had to modify in your Palm?

  • How can I format an SD card on my mac?  I have tried the erase thing but when I put the card into my 35mm camera it says that the card has to be formatted.

I just purchased two new SanDisk 8gb SD cards for my trail cameras.  When I put the cards into the trail cameras, the cameras will take pictures but it won't store them on the cards.  When I put the cards into my 35mm camera the camera tells me that the cards need to be formatted.  I have went through the steps in the disk utilities and erased the cards, which I assume is the same as formatting them??  I have tried this for hours and have had no luck getting these things to work at all.  It was awful disgusting when I checked my two trail cameras the first time and found out that they had taken close to 75 pictures but the cards were empty.  When I bought my 35mm camera several years ago, I bought a couple of Kodak SD cards and used them right out of the package and never had to do any of this formatting thing.  I don't understand what is going on and could sure use some help with this.  Thanks for any information anyone can give me with this problem.  I would love to have seen what animals set my cameras off 75 times in the last few days.  Thanks again.
    Respectully
    Jim

AFAIK cameras offer their own built-in format utility for inserted SD cards.  You should use that.  Otherwise, refer to the manual that came with your camera to determine precisely how your SD cards need to be formatted to work properly.  Personally, I'd suggest Partition Scheme: MBR, and Filesystem: FAT32.
Try to limit the number of formats you perform on the SD cards, though, as you're reducing their lifespan.  I believe formatting causes re-writes to a portion of the SD card that has fewer read/write cycles than the rest of the card as a whole.

  • I would like to import two different cf cards from two different cameras into the same project/folder and have them be in order of the times they were taken, is there a trick?

I would like to import two different cf cards from two different cameras into the same project/folder and have them be in the order of the times they were taken, any ideas on how to do this?

Just import them normally and sort the project by date. They will fall into place. If you tried this and it isn;t happening then make sure the data and times on the two cameras are identical and make sure you are sorting by date and time and nothing else.

  • No SIM card error

I'm getting a no SIM card error. When I got a new SIM card it now says no service! My cell provider assures me it's not on their end, which makes sense as we have 2 more iPhones on the same account! Any ideas?

I would try to verify the steps taken in this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4148
-If after you do all steps and issue still isnt resolved I would contact Apple Store or Apple Care (phone service) tell them all the steps you have done and look into replacement options.

Starting in 2015 I get the following error when I try to import my photos. "The following files were not imported because they could not be read"  -DSC8416.NEF  I've been importing the same type of photos with no errors then 2015 came along and now I can no longer import.

The error message is misleading, the problem is that you need WRITE privileges added to the destination directory tree.
Assuming you are using the "date" structure that LR defaults to, find the directory that contains the 2014 folder (the one that works) and add WRITE rights to the parent of "2014".
While you are there, if you want, add "2015" folder to beside "2014" and add READ and WRITE rights to that new directory.
