MMS failure

I experience  trouble sending and receiving MMS  wieth my new iPhone 4S. A new SIM card is mounted and the phone has been restsored, and the relevant settings are on according to advices given In Apples support pages . Otherwise the phone seems to function perfectly. What is the most probable reason: har dware malfunctioning? ... Or a software failure? Is there a simple way to solve the problem?  r

Are you able to send or receive any MMS, or none at all?
Have you contacted your carrier?

  • How I Fixed My MMS Failures

Like many others, I too had a problem with the MMS update on my 3G phone. Let me foreshadow the problem a little....I upgraded from the original iPhone last year to a 3G...
Anyhoo, I installed the carrier update on Friday. Could not send and receive messages. I waited, restored the phone, reset all settings, etc. with no result.
Called ATT Saturday and got the "we're having issues" from the tech. I mentioned all the posts here and possible solutions provided, and the said that the network was overwhelmed because I live in a large market (San Diego) and would work "soon." I mentioned the solutions bandied about on te forums, but he didn't listen to me.
Called ATT Sunday to talk to a tech. After I gave them my phone number and told them about the problem, the tech said that the MMS update does not work on the original iPhone. I told her I upgraded to the 3g a year ago, to which she replied that the system still had the IMEI number from my old phone, and therefore my 3g could not send or receive messages. She entered my IMEI number from the 3G (which is found under the "About" menu), and 2 minutes later, I had MMS enabled.
Soooooo, if you are like me and upgraded from an original iPhone to a 3G or a 3GS, CALL ATT AND MAKE SURE THEY HAVE THE RIGHT IMEI NUMBER IN THE COMPUTER. The solution was so ridiculously easy that I was shocked that this wasn't the first thing that the original tech checked.
Hopefully this helps someone out there.....

I just asked a question about the radio orientation so this does help a bit.  Thanks for posting your situation.
I KNOW I could simply experiment with a roving laptop around my house but it sure would be nice for Linksys to provide a handy "antenna pattern" online so we could know the best orientation for our situations.  I know "omin-directional" implies all around but that's not really what you get in actuality.
The odd thing is that you say your signal is *barely* better yet you connect better now.  That makes no sense as you should be able to connect at a lower signal strength (I do it all the time with my old WRT54G).
    Thanks for the info,
    Bob

  • E65 bluetooth and MMS failure

My e65 cannot receive or send MMS via text or bluetooth and no longer connects to my Mac via bluetooth. i've had it about a year and take reasonably good care of it. i've tried turning it off, taking out the battery, mem card and sim card but this hasn't resolved the problem. can this be fixed easily?

One thing that you could try is to de-brick the Playbook
    1) make a back-up of the Playbook then turn it off
    2) start the Blackberry Desktop Manager on a computer
    3) plug the Playbook still turned off
    4) turn it on, and briefly on the computer you see that it offer to update the device, click on UPDATE
then you have to go through the sign-in process like when you first got the Playbook
If that still does not work, you will have to call RIM support to get it fix by them, unless somebody else as another idea
    Good luck
Using the Playbook and the Z10 and the Z30 and loving them

  • Centro and mms failure

I get "Message download failed" on MMS messages sent to me.  "This message could not be retrieved.  The networking connection was interrupted.  Please try again later."  I attempt to "fetch" message and it says "MMS Error Fromsender) This message could not be retrieved.  The networking connection was interupted.  Please try again later."  I was getting all messages until about a month ago.  I have not changed my service at all.  I am using AT&T.  I still get emails and other services.  Text messages come through also.
    Please help!!!

  • MMS Message Send Failure

Well the topic pretty much explains the problem. Whenever I try to send a MMS Message, whether it be an existing photo or one just taken by the camera, the message will look like it's about to send, but right when it's on its way the error icon will pop up and I'll get a "Message Send Failure".

Could this have anything to do with the fact that I've been using the 1st Gen since it came out and AT&T might not have activated my MMS features?

  • MMS "message sending failure"

    Hi All,
I have a sudden problem with my 3G iphone,, It started two days ago my i phone stopped sending a mms , every time I send a picture it makes an error & the icon "message sending failure" appears..I tried to restart the i phone , I checked the i phone network & everything seems okay but still I can't send a mms!!!
    thank you

I tried that. Didn't work. Picture still won't send. I also find that if I try to email the picture instead, it won't send that either. Normal emails and texts with NO picture included go through just fine. Any suggestions?

  • IPhone 4 mms message send failure

Anybody else having problems with this??? I spoke to tech support and they had me resest network settings. It worked when they sent me a mms and I sent one back to them. But when I tried to send a test mms to one of my contacts, it wouldnt send it.

Are you still having this issue sending mms? I would also recommend trying a hard reset by pressing and holding the power button and home button for about 10 seconds until the Apple symbol comes up. The phone will take about a minute to reboot after that. Let us know if you are still having issues sending mms.

  • Note 3 MMS sent/received constant failure/3 days late

I have a Note 3 and since the 4.4.4 update, or somewhere around that time, my phone has been near unable to receive MMS.  Most times the MMS just sit in a permanent state of downloading or failed to download.  When I'm lucky the messages come in 20 minutes to 3 days late.  From what I can tell online my APN settings are just messed up from the last update, but the APN settings are locked and I can't change them to fix it (unlike every other carrier).  I have done a factory reset, pulled the battery, and pulled the battery and SIM card for 15 minutes.

I am able to send and receive there is just a delay of minutes, hours, or days.  From what I can tell from other people my sending messages are working OK.  I see sent when I send out an MMS.  I've verified that they receive the message.
The problem is me receiving the MMS messages.  From what I can tell if the queue of messages is nothing then I get messages with 5 minute delay.  If I have a slew of messages coming in (I.E. group message where people are replying to each other) then it can take hours to days depending on the amount.  I can tell how many messages are trying to download because the default messenger (and Google Messenger) show in the SMS for that person when they've sent a message that is trying to download.  Sometimes when I check I can see it trying to download 10+ messages for multiple people.

  • MMS Send Failure

I have read and tried many of the suggestions in this forum, to no avail. It has now been about a week and I still can't send MMS messages from my iPhone (I have never been able to do so). It starts sending, holds up at about the 95% mark, then I get the wonderful RED EXCLAMATION POINT. I can send normal text messages just fine. Here's what I've done:
    - Restored my iPhone without using the backup
    - Re-installed iPhone 3.1
    - Reset my network settings
    - Re-installed Carrier settings: 5.5
    - Called AT&T to verify the IMEI number is correct
    - Verified that I'm not on a family plan and that I have messaging: 1500
    - Gone to an AT&T store to have them remove messaging and re-apply it
    - Gone to an AT&T store to have them replace the SIM card
Nothing has worked. AT&T says it's an Apple problem. Apple says it's an AT&T problem. I now have an appointment at the Apple Store. I'm really at a loss at this point. Any other suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Thomas

I'm in exactly the same situation as you. I called AT&T tech support three times, they told me that there is a problem with their system. They had my old 2g iphone listed in the back system and 3GS in their other systems, they told me this is the cause of the problem. They can't correct the problem because AT&T's systems are not communicating properly now and it will be a few more days before they can fix it. will they ever learn? I'm angry about the experience.

  • Failure sending Iphone International MMS

I have the Iphone 3G 3.1. I have yet to been able to send MMS messages overseas from the US. (More specifically to the Philippines) I have been on the phone with AT&T and Apple technical support. So far; no luck. I can send and receive MMS fine here in the US. Oddly enough, I can receive MMS from my friends in the Philippines. Again, for some reason, my MMS do not make it through to them even though it shows as being sent from my phone.
Prior to my Iphone, I had the LG Shine through AT&T and I had no problems sending or receiving MMS stateside or overseas.
Is anyone else out there having this problem or even tried to send an MMS internationally? I am attaching a blog from another Iphone user that is apparently having problems trying to send his MMS to the UK.
    http://appmodo.com/5057/international-iphone-mms-fail/
Is Apple or AT&T blocking outgoing MMS to overseas phones? Is Iphone MMS messaging restricted to only stateside? Can anyone help?

    According to this: http://www.wireless.att.com/learn/messaging-internet/messaging/international.jsp
it should work. I don't know why they aren't going through. Sorry I can't offer more help. I would continue working with AT&T customer service until you get a resolution.

  • SMS and MMS message failure...

    Hello!
I would like to suggest a feature to be built in to the next iOS update.
If a message fails to send due to lack of signal etc... It would be much better if the phone automatically re tried to send the message when possible. Rather than us manually having to resend! My previous Nokia's have been doing that for years!
    Thanks!

  • IMessage mms send failure

I have an iPod Touch 4th Gen with iOS5. When I first updated my iPod iMessage worked fine but lately, everytime I try to send a message and the send bar at the top is almost full, it stops and says message not delivered. I've tried everything including turning iMessage on and off a few times, switching my ipod off and turning it back on again, making sure my Apple ID is valid and iMessage still won't work. I can't receive messages either. Is this happening to anybody else? And how might I be able to fix this problem?
    Thankyou kindly

And another symptom: Tonight when iMessaging with a friend who has an iPhone 4s, all of my messages between she and I except for two disappeared - my most recent response to her, and the single text message rather than iMessage that has passed between us. I don't know what's up with that either. Thoughts, anyone?

    Hi Guys,
After upgrading OS of my phone to 3.0 i am not able to send MMS properly. When i submit new mms it is arriving to destination 2 times and i am getting delivery failure response. Is there anybody who has this problem?

    Thanks,

When you say 2nd generation iPhone, you mean the 3G?
The reason I ask is because MMS is not supported with firmware update 3.0 with the first generation iPhone.
When Apple announced the release of firmware update 3.0 at their WWDC, all carriers for the iPhone in all countries were not going to have MMS available for the iPhone when 3.0 was released. AT&T in the U.S. was one of the carriers not ready. AT&T will have MMS available for the iPhone sometime this summer.
Have you checked with your carrier for the iPhone to see if they have MMS enabled for the 3G & 3GS?

  • Iphone 4s unable to send mms over gprs, is there a fix for this?

OK so after much hunting around the net and many calls to both my network provider and apple i found this link myself http://www.nowsms.com/iphone-mms-message-send-failure-on-gprs-and-edge that answered my problem. The answer being there is no solution :-S  ............ so im now asking here if anyone knows of a fix or work around for this problem.

    Howdy there Tuna241,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your iPhone is restarting unexpectedly after the update to iOS 7.0.2.
I recommend the steps outlined in the article named:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Regards,
    Sterling
