Mms messages on ipad

So when I send from my iPhone as iMessage it says it sends from my phone number on the recipients iPhone. However when I send from my iPad 4 just wifi. It shows sent from my email address. I would like for them to be both send from my phone number. Is that possible and if so how do I do it?

Hi Jaclynrose17,
If you are interested in configuring Messages to use your phone number on both of your devices, you may find the following article helpful:

  • Can i send and receive mms messages in my ipad ?

how i can send and receive mms messages in my ipad?

You should be able to do this through the iMessage app if the other person is connected through an apple device If not however there are plenty of apps on the app store that you would be able to use to send pics as long as the other user has a smart phone (does not have to be apple)... for example WhatsApp, Kik, Skype etc Hope that this helps!

  • Why can I not send mms messages on my iPad???

I can't send mms messages on my I pad???

    Not likely,
An ipad is not a cellular phone even if it has a cellular module, that module is for data only so sms/mms messaging is not available to an ipad with using a third party app that transfers the messages from voip to cellular phone networks.
So messages on an ipad is an Apple only protocol and only works to other Apple users that have also registered their devices with messages, attempting to send to a user with a different device (android for example) will simply fail.

  • MMS messaging quit ...

I don't know how wide spread it is, I do know that the 3 iPhones on our account all lost the ability to send MMS messages about two days ago. When a message is typed and sent it's labeled as 'not delivered'. Clicking the not delivered text offers the option to send as 'text'. There's no possibility that someone altered all three phones in a manner to cause this. On my iPhone I have shut all settings off (in Settings>Messages) and rebooted the phone, turned the appropriate settings back on and no luck - this among other things. I have checked the send/receive contacts and all are correct. I checked my Messages account settings with my apple ID and find there that "Unable to contact the iMessage server". Oh, I also did a Network settings reset.
So, is there a setting somewhere on my phone blocking the iMessage servers? If so, wondering how the servers were also blocked on the other two phones. Finally, who operates the iMessage servers - is it AT&T or Apple?
Thanks for all enlightenment and help.

    iMessage is Apple (Blue Messages)
SMS & MMS are your carrier (Green Messages)
When it is failing to send its trying to go through Apple, thats why you have the options to send as SMS/MMS (Text) going through your carrier as the backup plan.
Here are a couple of things you can try.
    Reference: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755
If you can't send and receive iMessages
You will need these to send and receive iMessages:
An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    iOS 5.0 or later
A cellular data connection or a Wi-Fi connection
A phone number or Apple ID registered with iMessage in Settings > Messages
To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps
Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you selected iMessage for use. If the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use, troubleshoot iMessage registration.
Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. If a data connection isn't available, troubleshoot cellular data or a Wi-Fi connection.
iMessage over cellular data might not be available while you're on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn which network your phone supports. If your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while you're on a call.
    Restart your device.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
If you still can't send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Make sure that the contact you're trying to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
Back up and restore your device as new.
If you aren't receiving iMessages across all iOS devices
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on each iOS device and make sure that you signed in with your Apple ID. You must use the same Apple ID on each device.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By iMessage At and make sure that you selected each phone number and email address you want to use with iMessage.
If you linked a phone number to your Apple ID with iMessage and the phone number hasn't appeared, followthese steps.
Sign out of your Apple ID in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and Settings > FaceTime on all devices.
If you're linking a phone number to an Apple ID, sign in to iMessage on your iPhone first. Then sign in to the rest of your device one by one with iMessage and FaceTime.
If your iMessages didn't transmit as SMS when iMessage was unavailable for use
Go to Settings > Messages > Send as SMS and turn on Send as SMS.
Select your phone number when Sending iMessages in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Start New Conversations From.
Make sure that you can send SMS with Settings > iMessage turned off.

  • Text Messages from iPad

Why can't I send text messages from my iPad to people who don't have iPads or iPhones?

No, actually you can't, not with the native Messaging app.

  • MMS messaging needs to be enabled to send

That's the message I get on my iPad when trying to send  a picture using text message forwarding Through my iPhone.  Regular texts work fine, only pictures on non iMessages give me the error. And yes, MMS messaging is enabled and works when I just use my iPhone.

Fixed it by toggling off my text forwarding and toggling back on. Had to re enter the code and all was well.

  • IPad won't sync.  Getting message "The iPad "Jennifer iPad" could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish."

Getting message "The iPad “Jennifer iPad” could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish."  Or it looks like its going to sync but then I see it flash, "Cancelling Sync."  The only thing I can think I have done differently is I purchased a video from iTunes on my iMac.  Want to transfer it to the iPad.
    Thanks... this is so frustrating!!!

Not sure if this will help but I would try disconnecting your iPad then restarting your computer. Also reboot your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appear. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem. After both have started back up reconnect your iPad and try to sync again.
Im presumming here that you had been able to sync your ipad before you purchased the new video. If it fails to sync after the restart I would deselect the new video you purchased and try syncing. It just could be there is something wrong with that video file.

  • When sending multiple MMS messages is there a limit to how many you can send in a group?  My iphone4 will not let me send more than 10.  My 3gs I was able to send over 20 MMS messages at one time.  when I try on this phone I get the red exclamation mark!!

When sending text messags from my iphone4 it will only allow me to send to no more that 10 contacrs at a time.  On my 3GS I was able to sendto well over 20 contacts at once.  When I try to send on this iphone 4 all I get is the red exclamation mark and a message saying message not send and to try again.  Is there something wrong with the way I have my setting?  I use this feature alot so I am really trying to figure it out.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I understand that the limit is 10 people when sending MMS messages. However there is a much higher limit for SMS messages.
If they would suit your needs, try disable the switch for "MMS messaging" on the Messages page of the Settings app.

  • Is it possible to send an MMS message?

I don't know if its just me but i cant see any way of sending a picture message. Can it be done if so how?
All I can see is a way of sending the picture as an email.
    Any help would be appreciated.
Also for some reason my iphones ringing volume keep turning itself down and it always goes to the same volume, almost off. It happens intermittently is there a reason for this?

MMS messages can be sent through you email setup. MMS messages can not be sent like an SMS.
There is not any information as to if/when it will be added. You can send feedback to Apple with a request to add it. You will not be the only one to do this (I have done this as well).

You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.
