MMS messages with WiFi on

I just assisted in the purchase of 2 Lumia 925 on T-Mobile US
a day or after the purchase, both users noticed that they weren't able to send or recieve MMS messages.
I called TMo, and they instructed me to turn off the wifi ... Lo n behold the MMS's started flowing again...but this didn't make any sense to me why MS/NOkia would make such a setting ... with the wfi off, you can't back up your pictures at the highest res n such...it just wouldn't make sense...
well, messing around with phone myself, i found the following setting which resolved the issue
go into setting > cellular > "for limited wifi connectivity" - toggle it to use cellular...

Hello Kitty1952! I can certainly help you today! My apologies for the trouble you're experiencing! All MMS messages need data in order to send & receive properly. Let's ensure that your data is enabled. Even if you're connected to Wi-Fi, as long as your data is enabled, you'll be able to send properly. To verify data is on: Go to Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > verify Mobile Data is checked off > Go to Global Data roaming Access > Verify Allow access for all trips is enabled. Power off device to reset for 1 minute. Then try to send a MMS message to yourself to test the sending & receiving. Keep us posted, thanks!

  • Using multimedia messaging with wifi not 4G

We have 2 Samsung galaxy S4 phones.  One of them will receive MMS messages while the phone is on WiFi settings, the other one will only receive them if it is on 4G.  What settings do I need to change so both phones receive MMS messages while on Wifi?

If you're using the stock text app, mobile data is required to send/receive MMS.  If you're using Verizon Messages, those will send/receive over wi-fi.

  • N95 not opening MMS message with a recording

My N95 does not open MMS with recordings sent from a SonyEricsson K800.
The SonyEricsson K800 opens the MMS with my recordings sent with my N95.
It looks like the Nokia does not recognize the SonyEricsson recording format?
But the SonyEricsson does recognize the Nokia recording format!
How can I solve this problem?
The MMS settings of my Nokia are correct (I send & receive images)!
    Please help
    Thanx
    Ernesto

That SE phone model must using the proprietary audio format of Sony when recording which uses less space. You can't solve it in your side, since the Nokia Media player is the default player it uses when opening an mms with recording, even if you install a 3rd party audio player that can play that audio. If the SE phone can be configured to record in format which your phone can play, that's the only solutions I could think of.

  • I would like to synchronise my sms mms message wit...

I would like to synchronise my sms mms message with outlook or similar.
I use pc suite for text messaging, I send alot of work related texts every night, with Nokia PC Suite this is really easy and handy. Once the phone is disconnected, the only record of messages is just in the phone.
I know I can do a regular back up so I dont lose them.
As with emails, I would like to be able to fully  sync my messages with outlook or similar software.
It can not be hard for nokia to add it to pc suite.
Does anyone have a solution for me.
    thanks

    Hi,
If your phone is compatible with Nokia OVI Suite 2.0.0.10(you can download it from nokia.com/ovisuite), depending upon your system requirements and your phone's compatibility, install Nokia OVI Suite 2.0.0.10, you can sync your SMS(Currently MMS is not supported, expected it to be in next version), you can create smart group for your contacts, you can view your messages on your pc even after you disconnect your phone from the PC.
Hope this is what you are expecting
Sync sms/mms with outlook wont be currently possible as we dont have similar mapping in Outlook

  • Messages with audio

When I recieve an MMS message with audio attached it messes my phone up.  If I receive or try to make a call after receiving a message with audio, the other end can hear me but I cannot hear anything on my end.  I have to take the battery out and reboot before I can hear anything.  Does anyone else have this problem and any suggestions on what to do?

I appreciate the answer.  I have talked with Verizon about this issue and they SAY Blackberry is working on a software update to correct this problem.  I just wondered if there was info out there that I was not aware of.  This is kind of an irritating problem because when you have to take the battery out it takes a few minutes to power back up.  Thanks again.

  • My Samsung Galaxy s5 does not receive or send mms texts, photos or group messages via wifi.

We turned off our data and found that I cannot get mms or photo texts via wifi on my Samsung s5 active. The sales reps at the store told me it had all capabilities of an IPhone. Two AT&T technical support phone agents did not know about this limitation. After a 20 minute conversation, the AT&T reps said Samsung just overlooked this feature and will not offer it on this device. Samsung said AT&T will not allow this capability for this device on their network, but they had no written specs regarding this technicality to send me. This is a $689 Phone and I would have never bought it had I know that AT&T limited its capability. Does anyone know of an app or workaround?

Simple answer is that you can merge text messaging with Google Hangouts on the device.  This will allow you to send text messages from the GS5 without the need of the cellular network.  If would like to look into this and get back to me with any specifics feel free to ask. Here is a youtube video that shows you step by step how to get this done:https://youtu.be/v8YwXcw-YD4 Good luck and again just ask if you run into any issues

I've been texting my friend with iMessage with wifi on and all of a sudden it changed to text message and won't let me send messages. My wifi is still on and working but it won't switch back to iMessage. Please help

What I recommend you try doing first is to turn iMessage off then back on.  If that doesn't work, make sure that your Apple ID and password are correct.  If everything seems correct and you still can't send out messages using iMessage instead of text message, I think you should either try calling AppleCare at 1-800-MY-IPHONE (1-800-694-7466) and/or scheduling an appointment at the Genius Bar at an Apple Store (that is, if there's one close to you).
    Hope this helps!

Add another e-mail account to your messages, so people could reach you on that e-mail from messages. As soon as you are online (if you have wifi only iPad) you are able to send and receive messages. i.e. your son can send you a messages from his iPhone addressing it to your (that additional) e-mail address.

I just bought an new ipad mini with wifi and cellular. Is there any way to send text messages to people and contacts that do not have iphones such as friends with blackberrys or a samsung galaxy smartphone from this ipad. Everytime I try to send a message to a person that does not have an Apple product ( Iphone or Ipad ) it comes up saying contact is not registered for iMessage and wont send it. I can only send them a message from my iPhone 4 instead. Do I have to install a new App from the App store to send these non iMessage cell users a message?

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
