I have a BlackBerry 8300 through Sprint. I want to send picture mail, but do not have the option. How do I find/get MMS on my phone. I only have the option of sending SMS texts.

You can't on Sprint. They have been promising to enable MMS messaging for a couple of months now, but they have not.

  • What is new AT&T iPhone MMS date? I see integrated messaging feature

Okay, I heard that this was to happen at then end of Summer, then end of July.
So what is the new date? I see Integrated Messaging counters in my AT&T profile as of this week.
Should we expect another update to sync with iTunes to get it working?

Funny. I'm going to mark this question as answered -and this last post as funny.
I hope it isn't sarcasm, cause my sarcasm detector runs on Windows 7 and I currently have my VMware Fusion session powered off.
The heart of my question was really the "integrated message" counter in my AT&T profile. I was hoping to hear others just got it, or don't have it, or when they got it, and they I could magically extrapolate a new MMS rumor date.
Anyway, I don't have to go to UK (although a good choice), cause Rogers in Canada has MMS already.

    Are the messages successfully sent?
If so, what happens to a message after it is successfully sent has nothing to do with the cell phone that sent the message.

  • Messages vs Personal Email vs SMS and MMS Text Folders

Last week, I updated my software for my BlackBerry 8310 on the AT&T network.  I have been having problems with the receipt of emails since.  I seem to been receiving every email twice, once in my personal email folder on the main screen, as well as in the messages folder on the main screen.  I had posted asking for help and received help, which can be read here:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=8300&message.id=42082#M42082
I had separted my emails and text messages into their respective folders, and placed the icons for my personal email and SMS/MMS texts on the main screen.  I then hid the messages folder.  At first, I thought this solved my problem, so I marked the thread as solved.  I then received another email and realized that it was delivered twice, once in my personal email folder and once in the messages folder.  I then had to un-hide the messages folder to delete the email, so that the new email notification would disappear.  I am still in need of help, so that I only receive each email once.  At this point, I don't care what folder it goes to, as long as I don't have to delete the same email multiple times.  Thank you for any help in advance.
    Matthew

they look like 2 copies, they are not 2 copies, they are the exact same copy, just mirrored in another location, but if you delete one... doesnt matter which one, the other one deletes. what you are experienceing is not new. I have been running 4.5 for 2 months now and it works the same as 4.3
I receive an email in my gmail icon and my messeges icon, if I delete it in 'gmail', it deletes in 'messages' automatically
If I delete it in 'messeges' it deletes in 'gmail' automatically

  • Straight talk MMS will not work on iPhone 5 purchased from Apple

Just purchased an iPhone 5 from Apple and activated on Straight Talk. Used the BYOD ( bring your own device ) option and purchased a SIM from ST. Everything works fine except my MMS. I even went and purchased a nano SIM from Tmobile. I have tried every suggestion found on the nets but none seem to work. I have tried all the APN settings mentioned. Without the APN settings I do not have the option to even select the camera icon while in messages. After Imanually enter the APN settings I then have the option to select the camera icon to choose existing or camera to send MMS. Everytime I try to send one it fails. It seems the only reason I needed the Tmobile SIM was to open cellular data. Cellular data was already an option without the Tmobile SIM. Nothing ever loads in the APN with Tmobile SIM or ST SIM. Called ST and got no help because was told since I brought my own device there was nothing they could do and to contact Apple. I know Apple would not be able to do anything for this, because it is not a phone issue but a cellular issue.

    Hi Guys,
I got exchange mail working. It seems issue is around "Push". I enabled "push", account verified & all worked well. After that I disabled push (I do not want it & to save mobile data use).
By googling, I found many have got it up & apple may fix it in it next iOS udpate.

    Mathew

  • Can't send/ receive photos in mms...?

    hi,
i'm hoping this is just a setting i don't know about. when in the messaging screen the camera icon is not next to the messsage box.
it was there a couple of weeks ago.
i've been to the at&t store and the apple store. after messing with the phone they both sent me home to do a restore.
i did a restore to 'as a new phone' and the icon returned, great!
but then i did a restore from back up to get all my info back and the camera icon disappeared again.
i can't just make it as new and start over. i'd rather live without mms photos. but the best solution would be if i can just get that function back.
any suggestions on what to check?
    thanks

Is the Camera app also 'missing'? The native Camera app cannot be deleted. But, there are two possibilities:
    1) It's turned off in Settings > General > Restrictions. If so, enter your passcode and toggle it back ON.
    2) You have an Exchange account on the phone. The Exchange server can be set to disable the camera, so if that's the case you'd need to delete the Exchange account or convince your IT department to remove the restriction.

  • Can't send multiple photos in MMS

If I select a photo and choose to send via MMS then tap the camera icon next to the photo on the MMS screen (in order to choose an additional photo to send), the app sends me back to the Home screen. Also tried this on my 3GS running iOS4 and the same thing happens. Anyone else seen this?

Just tried on iPhone 4, iOS4.1, was able to start sms, tap camera, select image from camera roll, then tap camera again, select another image - both are in the message... repeated until 5 were there, still works.
    Sent. Worked.
Try powering off the phone (press & hold power until slide to power off shows up, then slide. After it powers off press power button again to boot it up...) and try again. Or, close all open background apps.

  • Can't send photos via MMS

I've had this problem before but after several tries managed to get it through, but won't work at all now.
It's from a picture snapped on the built in camera. Thinking it might be too large I downloaded it to my Mac, opened in Photoshop and downsized it quite a bit. Put it in my iPhoto album, synced with the iPhone and tried again with a file 10% as large. Same problem.
The bar for Sending goes fine but stops just before the end and stays there, eventually timing out. This is over WiFi.

Wi-FI has nothing to do with sending/receiving MMS. SMS/MMS is exchanged over the carrier's cellular network only. A photo or video sent via MMS is resized automatically.

I'm a newbie to BlackBerry devices but a long time user of cell phones and I have just one question which I hope isn't a difficult one to answer.  I don't know if I'm missing something here, but how do you send an picture or photo via MMS?  All I see in my message options is SMS text.
I just got the new Red BB Curve 8330m with the 4.5.0.131 software/firmware from Sprint.
I did a search here but didn't find an answer.
    TIA for any help here!

No problem, if it wasn't for questions there wouldn't be forum, Right?
So you checked the firewall, and you can receive, that means you have the application,
Have you ever done a battery pull or sent service books since receiving the device?
    Thanks,

  • Entire text history disappears after sending MMS - Where are they, how do I get them back

I was attempting to send a picture via MMS, the picture was unedited, no third party app was used for editing or sending the picture. When it was sending, the apple icon appeared on a black background as if it was rebooting. When the reboot was complete, my entire history of messages was gone. When I search for messages on spotlight search, they appear - so they are still somehow in the phone. But when I select one from the search for viewing, it takes me to a "new message" page as if the text no longer exsists. I tried turning the phone off, removing the SIM card, leaving it for several minutes, then restarting. I am still opperating on ios 4, and have not attempted a restore yet. I am hoping to retrieve the lost messages, since apparently they are still being stored and remembered by some part of my phone. Why did this happen, and is there any way to save my message history? There are quite a few conversation I really want back. I would also like to know why my phone would do this and how I can prevent it from happening again in the future.

Solution that worked for me provided by cor-el:

The second Google cache link works. To find the file in Windows, in Firefox click "Help", then "Troubleshooting Information". In the new tab that opens click the box "Open Containing Folder" under Application Basics and next to Profile Directory. Close Firefox. Find the file "localstore.rdf" (in the Windows folder you just opened) and delete. Open Firefox and customize your toolbars. Should be the last time you have to do it.

  • V21 5800 - reply to MMS with SMS?

I'm sure that before I upgraded to v21 I could reply to an MMS with an SMS by choosing from the options menu reply->via text message.  The "via text message" bit has gone now there is only a "to sender" - which replies with an MMS, or "with audio message".  Anyone else seen this?

Just make sure that the "Subject:" header is visible when composing messages. When responding to an MMS (there only ever was a "reply to sender", there were never "reply by SMS" and "reply by MMS" commands on the 5800 since there never were "create new SMS" and "create new MMS" commands either, just "create new message" ), all you have to do is wipe out the content of that header.
The 5800 converts your message to an MMS if there's something in the subject header or if you insert content that can't be sent via SMS like an image or video. If neither are present then it defaults to SMS.

  • MMS - invisible mmsc settings

    Hi,
is there any procedure how to unlock invisible mmsc setting on Z10? I bought unlocked Z10, using provider O2 Czech Republic, every services work fine except mms (unable to sent/receive). When I go: Text message/Options/Text messages/MMS/Advanced - I can see only this setting:
SMS (Allow Special Characters, Service Center Address, Routing Preference, Send Text..., Retries)
APN Settings - this is visible but locked (APN = mms, Username=null, Password= null)
    MMSC - unvisible!!??
Any idea how to unlock it?

I gave up in the end after 6 weeks of constantly trying. I wrote to Vodafone CEO office and had a reply very quickly. They agreed to me returning the Z10 and re-instating my contract to before my last upgrade which has allowed me to choose a different phone.
Shame really as the Z10 is a beautiful phone

  • MMS pictures not coming through, no error message

My phone randomly stopped receiving MMS picture messages. I've had four sent to me, but none were received and no error message was displayed. I am able to send them just fine. I didn't change any settings. What should I do?

Have you contacted AT&T to ensure no network error and/or you verify your AT&T accounts settings didn't get messed up with respect to MMS?

  • Hi, I am wondering why my iphone won't send pictures through messages, I have MMS on and I have tried sending it with 3G on aswell and still doesn't work. Someone please help me :)

Hi, I am wondering why my iphone won't send pictures through messages, I have MMS on and I have tried sending it with 3G on aswell and still doesn't work. Someone please help me :)

    Hey lozza567,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues sending MMS messages. The following resource may provide a solution:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755
Issues with sending and receiving MMS
You will need these to send and receive MMS:
    - An iPhone 3G or later.
    - iOS 3.1 or later.
    - A cellular data connection. MMS isn't available if you are using only Wi-Fi.
    - A domestic MMS plan from your cellular provider. You may need an international messaging plan to send MMS to an international contact. Contact your carrier for more information.
    - A roaming MMS when using a cellular provider's network different from your billing cellular provider's network. Learn more about roaming and contact your carrier for more information.
To resolve issues with sending and receiving MMS, follow these steps first
    1. Go to Settings and turn airplane mode off.
    2. Go to Settings > Messages and turn MMS Messaging on.
    3. Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Cellular Data on.
    4. Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Data Roaming on if you are roaming on a cellular provider network different from your billing provider's network.
    5. Verify that you have a cellular data connection in the status bar at the top left of your iPhone.
    6. Go to Settings and turn Wi-Fi off. Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify that you have a data connection. Turn Wi-Fi back on to continue using Wi-Fi for other features. If your cellular data connection isn't available, follow these steps.
    7. Verify that you can send and receive SMS. If you are unable to send and receive SMS, see the "Issues with sending and receiving SMS" section, above.
    8. MMS may not be available while on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports.
    9. Restart your iPhone.
    10. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
    11. Reseat your SIM card.
If you are still unable to send or receive MMS, follow these steps
    1. Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
    2. Go to Settings > Messages and turn on group messaging if you are sending a group message.
    3. Make sure that you are using the area code with the contact's phone number. When sending messages internationally, you also need the contact's international code.
    4. Verify a "Pay as you go" MMS plan has enough available balance. Contact your carrier if unsure of your MMS plan or available balance.
    5. If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
    6. If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and re-create the contact from the Contacts application. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
    7. Back up and restore your iPhone as new.
    8. If your carrier has recently ported your phone number, the porting process may not be complete. Contact your carrier to confirm that the porting process is complete.
    9. Contact your carrier to verify that you are provisioned to send SMS and are in an area with cellular coverage.
    10. Contact your carrier to verify that there are no blocks or filters placed on your wireless account preventing you from sending SMS.
    11. Your carrier may require APN settings to be modified to use MMS. Learn more about when you should adjust APN settings.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.
