MMS pictures - sending

I have an iphone 4. Since upgrading to the 4.2 patch that came out last week, I am unable to send pictures to others using the MMS. I'm also having trouble sending pics off my camera roll (which incidentally has been blacked out since the 4.2 upgrade) to anyone via email. Is anyone else having trouble like this? Not sure if I should call AT&T or Apple Care. Any suggestions? I've done the settings---general---reset----reset network settings AND several reboots and nothing changes. Thanks!

As of the release of iOS 4.2.1 for iPhone in Sweden you are unable to send some MMS messages to carriers outside of Telenor network.
This was the result of a change in the carrier settings for Telenor in iOS 4.2.1.
Telenor now supports a max size for MMS of 2MB but other carriers in Sweden does not. They still support only about 600KB of max size.
So when you try to send an MMS message the iPhone sends the message just fine but the recieving carrier will not accept the MMS and just delete it since it is to large.
Resolution is to change the message size for MMS:
This is done under:
Settings - General - Network - Cellular Data Network
and under the sections MMS change the value of "MMS Max Message Size"
The default setting for Telenor in Sweden as of iOS 4.2.1 is 2097152
Change this value to 590000
This will allow the phone to send MMS to other carriers and they will accept the messages since that is under their max value of 600KB for MMS
After you have changed this I think you need to do a hard reset of the phone (but not 100% sure of this part), try...
(hard reset is to press and hold both power button and button under screen simultanious until you see the apple logo and then release the buttons)
This may apply to other country settings also, try to lower the MMS max size.

What do you mean "fix" MMS? If you mean enable it: Settings>Messages>SMS/MMS>MMS Messaging = ON

go into settings - message and make sure you have SMS/MMS turned ON.

If you were trying to send them over Wifi, that may be the reason. For mms, you have to use the network data connection, it won't work on Wifi.

Why cant I send or receive MMS pictures

I love my iphone, except for one thing. I can't send or receive an MMS picture without going to AT&T's lame site. Half the time the site doesn't let you see the photo (and I have triple checked the login info by the way) and this is a basic feature that mobile users have come to expect. I mean what's the point of having a camera in a phone if you cant send it to someone easily?
Apple you really need to address this since my old crappy motorola could do this easily.

I email photos from the iPhone all the time--it's a better solution. Some people actually get ****** off when you send them a picture txt because some carriers charge outrageous fees -- a buck and sometimes more -- just to receive it...AND to send it. They get you coming and going unless you have a package. In addition, a lot of phones can't save the received picture from a txt message. When you send it via email, it's there's to do with what they want.
I like it better. Now if I could just teach my friends to put my email address in the TO: field instead of my phone number, I wouldn't have to use AT&T's site to receive. I do agree with that point. It's lame--and I've NEVER been able to retrieve a picture from there. The passwords never work for me, either.

MMS pictures not coming through, no error message

My phone randomly stopped receiving MMS picture messages. I've had four sent to me, but none were received and no error message was displayed. I am able to send them just fine. I didn't change any settings. What should I do?

Have you contacted AT&T to ensure no network error and/or you verify your AT&T accounts settings didn't get messed up with respect to MMS?

Iphone 3G MMS not sending

Hello.
Just the other day I finally updated my iphone 3G so I could send MMS/ Picture messages but it doesnt seem to be working. Whenever I try to send an mms it starts to send (the sending bar comes up) but it can never fully send the message and the red exclamtion mark pops up. I read the troubleshoot article and followed and checked everything that it mentioned like restarting my iphone, making sure that I have the MMS service turned on in my phone settings, making sure that it is compatible with the service I have making sure that when I send it it's on 3G and making sure I have all the current updates. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks

BBM Picture send but not received

Sending BBM V7 contacts pictures on a regular basis, however I find that over 50% of the time I can send a picture, while standing right next to them, they do not recieve the picture, however if I send it via WhatsApp, MMS text message or email, they immediately get it. Experiencing this problem constantly. It has been happening on the current release of BBM, is not OS dependant (been updated) and same picture sending works on WhatsApp, Email and MMS. Definitely a BBM Version 7.0.1.23 problem/bug - BBM shows that the picture was sent successfully, however the recipient receives nothing. A reset/battery-pull of the "sender's" phone resolves the problem and picture sending works again for a while.
Anybody with input to add?

Photo doesn't appear on your friend's device
You reset your device
The photo then appears on your friend's device
Correct?
Are they able to send a photo to you without any problems?

Why are incoming MMS pictures blurry and pixelated?

This isn't a problem that I used to have on my old GS3. I was able to send and receive MMS pictures with no problems. However I now have a new Moto X (2014) and all the MMS pics I get are very poor quality and grainy. It makes reading any text in the pic/screenshot almost impossible to read at times.
Everything that I've been able to find indicates that it's an issue with MMS being automatically downgraded, but I don't buy that because, as I mentioned earlier, this was not a problem on my old phone. I have tried various messaging apps (Google Messenger, Google hangouts, the Verizon messaging app) and they all have the same problem. My wife has the same issue with her Moto X (2014). Similarly, she did not have this issue on her old phone which was some older Samsung with a slide out keyboard.
I'm really hoping someone can tell me how to fix this so I can again receive MMS in proper quality.
And no, sending the pictures via email, social media, etc. is not a "fix". This is something that used to work and now doesn't. I shouldn't have to force my friend to send me a picture through some other means when texting used to work just fine in the past.
I should also add that my friend receives my pictures clearly with no quality issues. I am not sure if that is because he has a different carrier (AT&T) or because he has an iPhone. My wife on Verizon with a Moto X (2014) receives blurry MMS from me.

As you can see, the image quality is A LOT better when sent through GroupMe.

Sorry for taking so long to respond, I was having issues accessing this account again.
This happens with every single picture that I've received on my new phone, even when I send myself a picture.
When I got my new phone, my old texts had been transferred from my old Samsung Galaxy S3 to my new Moto X 2014. I went back and found a text from September 28, which was the last day I had my old phone (I upgraded September 29th). All pictures pre Sept. 29 were perfectly clear. All texts post Sept. 29 are blurry. Here are examples of similar pictures sent to me both before and after the upgrade.

MMS picture distorted

Does anyone know what I should with my phone (Nokia 3120 Classic) when some of the received MMS picture proportions are distorted (picture is too wide)? Same message as sent to E90 looks fine.

Problem sending MMS/Picture messages

Wondering if anyone else is having this problem:
I'm finding that if i try to send someone a picture message along with a typed message, as soon as i hit send i get a little message saying its converting and then it just stays stuck on "sending". It never actually sends the message.
I realized this two days later when a friend said they had not received my text. I resent the picture without a typed message and then they suddenly received BOTH pictures (the original with the message and the new one).
Sounds like a weird software to me? Any thoughts?

Thank you everyone for reporting this issue. I can understand that it would be frustrating to have to try multiple times to send the same message. I have a Nexus myself and tried with a few other Nexus' here and was not able to duplicate the issue. Since there are multiple people having this issue, I will escalate this issue to our product team to further investigate this issue. I will need more details to troubleshoot. Do you notice this only happening in a certain location? Does it happen when picking up 3G, 4G or both? Do you get an error message or what exactly happens when trying to send MMS? Does this happen only when the signal is low, or with full signal?
Also, try removing the battery and SIM card for about 30 seconds. Toggle airplane mode and network mode for a few seconds, then retest.
