Mms requires your phone number

I am on the tmobile network, and yesterday I got a pop up saying there were settings updates for my carrier, so I tapped update.
Ever since then, every time I open my messaging app, it pops up and says "mms messaging requires your phone number". It gives me the option to cancel or go to settings. If I just hit cancel, my messaging works fine, but then the next time I open the app, it gives me the popup again.
So if I go to settings, I put in my phone number and it says It can not be saved.
Whats going on here?

MMS is used for picture messaging. If its enabled by your carrier are you sure your phone number in the phone has the full international number (include the international dialing code)

Have you contacted your carrier to insure the MMS is properly provisioned on your account? If not, do so, as this is a carrier feature.

A few weeks ago I got this message on my phone when I went into the Messaging App. Which seems strange to me that my phone doesn't know my number.
In any event I put in my number.
Well today it started doing it again.
Anybody else have this going on? Know what it is about?

I get it everytime I launch Messenger app. I've been getting iMessages. I don't have many people I do regular SMS/MMS with so I don't know if it is interfering with that.
It has a dialog that I can ignore it or open the settings. If ignore it seems like everything is working -- at least for iMessage -- but it keeps asking each time I go into the app.
If I tap the settings button I think it took me to the Phone preferences in settings. Where I had to fill in My Number.
It is just really strange that twice my phone wouldn't know who it is.

You can't. The iPod tuch does not have a phone number. For the Messages and FaceTime apps you use the email address that yu set them up with. With some oher texting apps like Text+, the apps assign you a phone number.

I did the chat deal through apple's support. It's supposed to work withing 24 hours. I've never even owned an apple product, but the phone number my carrier gave me was previously owned by an Iphone user. So everyone with an Iphone that was trying to txt me, their messages were going to the previous owner of the number for some reason. BUT hopefully it's fixed now, finally.
Apple needs to come up with some kind of an easier fix for this, an automated system or something, the text that says STOP to a number doesn't work, and it says that right in their troubleshooting. Hope the guy that had my number isn't married, cause some of the txts he was getting were pictures HAHA!

How do you get the email address on a 755P to show-up as something other than your phone number?

I have a 755p and as far as I know, it is set-up properly, however, everytime I send or respond to an email from my 755P, the"sender" email address shows-up as my phone number with my email address in <>. I would like to simply have my actual email address only show-up without the phone number, is this possible? If so, please let me know and be as descriptive as possible as I am not the best with this stuff.

Are you using the Verizon SMTP server settings in your account? This may be an issue with the way Verizon relays the email and you may need to speak with them regarding the issue.

Is it possible for a person to add your phone number into their imessage on an ipad without a notification popping up on your number?

I have a suspicion that someone has added my phone number into their imessage and can read all my texts with no notification sent to my phone. Is it possible to add a phone number to your imessage without that device getting a notification?

I use multiple iOS devices at my house, on my two (phone and ipad) I have my family AppleID we use for all purchases as my iMessage userid, on my wifes iPad we made a new ID Just for her messaging and installed that.
When she sends me an IM I get it on both devices. When i send to her its only her ipad.

First of all, the ability to use a phone number in addition to an Apple ID on a Mac's messages application is supposed to come in the Fall.
Secondly, you can have two Apple IDs authorized on one Mac. To get the second one authorized, while in iTunes, go to Store ---> Authorize this computer. That way, after synching with your iPhone, it will be able to use the apps from the two Apple IDs.

I'm considering purchasing an iphone, as my treo700p is terrible. I have Verizon and would like to bring my phone number with me, but I just found out it could cost a couple hundred dollars. Has anyone with verizon out there done this?

I switched from Verizon to AT&T 3-4 months prior to the iPhone's release. I had a year remaining on my contract at the time but Verizon released me from my contract without charging me the $175 early contract termination fee due to poor reception issues at my house. Verizon wasn't obligated to do so since no cellular provider is responsible for reception inside the walls of your residence or within any building but since I use my personal cell phone in place of a landline at home and I had been a Verizon subscriber since the summer of 2001, they granted me an exception but doing so is the exception rather then the rule.
If you remain under contract with Verizon and port your Verizon number over to AT&T, this will cancel your contract and Verizon charges a $175 early contract termination fee.
How many months do you have remaining on your contract? If less than 6 months or so, you can get a new phone number with AT&T for an iPhone and keep your Verizon contract and phone number. When your contract with Verizon expires, you can call AT&T to have your Verizon number ported/transferred to your iPhone replacing the new number acquired with AT&T for the iPhone. There is no charge for this and the number porting process by AT&T will cancel your service with Verizon automatically. Verizon will send your final bill after your Verizon number is activated with the iPhone.
Or you must wait until your contract with Verizon expires.

when ipad was set up wrong phone number was entered for imessages and facetime. How do you edit or delete it and enter correct phone number?

I believe this would work except the phone number associated with ipad is not correct. If I follow these steps, the wrong phone number would be setup once again since the iphone's number used at the initial setup of the ipad is not the correct number.
Two different iphones:
Setup now: iphone B with ipad A
Need:iphone A with ipad A
Does this make sense?
