MMS Sending Issue

Hello everyone!  Im having trouble sending MMS from my phone 4 on both 3g and wifi.  The sending bar gets all the way till just a little bit is left and then stops, about 5 min later it fails to send. I have tried doing the reset all network settings on the iphone and have had no luck.
Anyhelp would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Tom

Yes I do have MMS turned on in the settings, I am farely tech savy so I did check the basics .
You'd be surprised how many "tech savvy" people realize after the fact that their iPhone settings doesn't automatically have MMS turned on...especially if it wasn't something that any other device they used prior required it. It's not a knock on checking the basics...it's just the first step to making sure your bases are covered because I'm pretty sure if you called Apple CS right now the first thing they would do is ask you to verify that your MMS setting is turned on.
Speaking of which...if you feel you have tried all possible solutions (including checking the Apple Support pages for troubleshooting on MMS issues and also the Apple support forums) have you tried calling Apple? You are still within your 90 days phone support (if you did not opt for AppleCare to extend it) so you could contact them for troubleshooting help. It may honestly be a VZ issue but it doesn't hurt to make sure. As far as resizng your photos...it may help but I will point out that I do not use any non-native photo app and do not resize my photos....and I have no trouble sending MMS or photos in any manner. So I would guess that resizing shouldn't be a must in order to send MMS.

  • J2ME MMS send/receive (WMADemo app) now fails on all UK mobile networks!

I built a J2ME CLDC mobile app that has run successfully in several countries for the past 4 years.
It is a messaging app based on the J2ME MMS send/receive functionality in the Wireless Messaging API (wma11.jar and wma20.jar), which allows message parts to be assembled into an MMS and sent between mobile devices and have the receiving device's push registry recognise the incoming MMS and launch the J2ME app to display the message content.
This functionality is demonstrated in the Sun Wireless Toolkit (WTK) demo app WMADemo, which always worked perfectly.
As of July 2011, my app stopped working on all UK mobile networks but continues to work successfully on mobile networks in other countries (including USA and India). The WMADemo app has also similarly ceased to work.
The problem is that the incoming MMS is no longer recognised by the mobile device's push registry and thus gets sent directly to the device's default MMS inbox and therefore does not launch the J2ME app.
I have spent months trying to track down the cause of the problem. It is impossible to get any answers from any of the UK mobile networks.
It seems clear that the UK mobile networks have made some change to the protocols on their MMS servers but I cannot find out if this is the case.
Testing has shown that this is not a MIME type issue. So it is likely a change in the security settings on the MMS servers. For obvious reasons, the actual content of the generated MMS messages is binary data for interpretation by the receiving app. So it is possible this binary data is now being blocked in some way by the UK networks.
This is a business critical application and I am getting nowhere with the UK networks (Orange is the only one that bothered to reply but is very slow in progressing and OfCom and the Ombudsman can do nothing to help).
Have any of you guys hit this problem? I desparately need to find out the cause and resolve this issue as soon as possible.
Thank you in advance for any advice, pointers or suggested solutions.

Yes, I agree - 10 seconds can be a bit short for a backlight, but it makes you read faster and act faster - and that is a skill you can use everywhere in live.
In my next Nokia I hope they take it down to 9 seconds :-)

  • Nokia 6080. Continous pop up saying MMS sending fa...

    Hi
    I have 6080 model phone.
My son accidentally tried to send several MMS (I have not subscribed to MMS service with my service provider). No I am getting perennial pop ups saying 'MMS sending failed. Please check the settings'.
Pressing OK brings up the same pop up message again and again rendering the phone virtually useless.
I tried restarting the phone, removed and put the same SIM back, put a new SIM; nothing seem to work.
I put the old SIM into 6300 moel Nokia. It showed 7 MMS messages were there and it showed it failed to send. I deleted the MMS and tried to put the SIM back to my 6080 model. Again it is showing the same message.
How do I stop it? Is there way to load the OS again to the phone? I dont have a cable to connect the phone to a PC.

Not sure that delivery reports is what they're talking about. I know what you mean - on my 6230 you just get a confirmation display and message beep to say "message sent" which means it has left the phone whereas the delivery report is sent to your phone when it is delivered to the recipient and could be some time in the future.
I think it may just be a firmware thing that some phones now do not do this. I asked a question to Nokia a while ago about the 6111 as incoming text messages do not automatically display the sender & date/time details when you scroll down past message content but instead have to select options/message details when the message is open. They said it was meant to be that way...!

  • Update on MMS/New issue

I posted the other day about not being able to do MMS on my blackberry. Well, after calling AT&T they told me I would have to pay them $30 extra a month for a data plan even though I didn’t want the email or internet…just MMS texting like on my old phone which is covered under my Unlimited texting!!!! I was rather angry and am not willing to pay that. After 5 hours of upgrading and messing with my phone I now have MMS texting. I do not get charged extra for them as it registers under the texting plan and if I want to I can use the MediaNet as pay per use. So if any of you had this issue with AT&T tryin to charge I am here to tell you that a simple upgrade can take care of it. Granted my phone was rather sluggish at first, once you get goin and use it a bit things speed up.  Now on to my issue. Once I got the MMS capabilities on there I started going nuts sending out pictures. I have a lot of friends who rely on their phone as the source of getting pics since they either do not have a computer or they are not computer smart ha ha. Most of the pics went through great and I even received some from people no problem. Now though it suddenly sits in the outbox with a lil clock icon next to it and never goes. Any thoughts on why this is? One sat in there for over 12 hours and didn’t go so I just deleted it.

Try pulling the battery out to reboot.
With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

  • Messaging shutting down on EVERY MMS send now...what's up?

I started having this issue a couple of weeks ago.  Followed all the online suggestions, deleted old MMS (since I couldn't view them anyway), and all was well until yesterday.  Now NO MMS will send. Messaging shuts down every time.  I don't know about receiving as I've warned my friends not to send me MMS until this is resolved.  I've deleted all old MMS, emptied the cache on all apps including Messaging, and just did a hard reset, but nothing has worked.   I installed another version of Messaging which did nothing but mess with my defaults so the messages didn't seem to know where to go.  I deleted it.
So what's up with this?  Part of the reason I text is to send photos to family.  I need this utility to work.

Im sorry you're having issues with MMS and text messaging GHFrider. I know this is frustrating. Have you made sure your phone has the latest software? What phone do you have? I also would try resetting messaging app on your device? The next time you perform a hard/factory reset I recommend not restoring all your applications at once. Instead try adding them one at a time and texting the messaging. This can help you eliminate which app may be causing an issue. Keep us posted.

  • MMS send or receive activates data roaming whilst abroad

I'm from the UK so use iPhone 3G o2 with 3.0 software. I am a merchant seaman and I have been in the Mediterranean over the summer.
Whilst there I noticed a major problem with my phone whilst roaming. Even though I had data roaming turned off the whole time, my money was being depleted rapidly. I couldn't figure out what was happening for a while. When I checked web browsing I had the message that data roaming had been switched off and that I had to enable to use etc. However every now and again I would hear the chime that I had new emails. When I'd check I would have 30 or so emails that had been on the server. I'd check and again message saying data roaming was off.
After a while I figured it out. If I sent an MMS message, it would activate data roaming and download my mail, and I would get charged a massive amount for it, after the MMS was sent the roaming would turn itself off. Even though the data romaing button was still in the switched off mode, my emails would download. And then just last week before I left the Med, my sister sent me an MMS and the same thing happened, I received 61 emails that had been sitting on the server.
I called o2 when I arrived home. The first bloke I spoke to from their iPhone department just told me in full robot mode that it was not possible. He did say that MMS uses data romaing and that when abroad my phone should have told me I couldn't use MMS messaging, this NEVER happened.
Afterwards luckily, he transferred me to someone who appeared to know how to do his job. He looked on my bill and could clearly see that after each MMS message there was a time of data roaming that had appeared. He said although he could see it he had no way to tell if this was an error, and that I could have simply turned on my data roaming after each MMS message was sent/received, which is true, I could have. He did arrange however, for me to call into my local Apple Store, to see one of their people.
I have no idea how he will be able to recreate this issue as when I arrived home I updated my phone to 3.1 and my phone wont be data roaming. Anyway I will go in and see him anyway. I'm pretty sure they will deny it. So I'm wondering if there is anyone else out there who has had this same issue? Or better still, if you are currently roaming in Europe and can try to send a MMS to someone and watch what happens?
I'll come back and let you know what is said by the Apple bloke on Saturday.
Message was edited by: British Bulldog

In case anyone searches for this I thought I would update it, even though no-one has made any comments??
o2 now tell me that this was an issue with 3.0 software and it has been resolved with the 3.1 update. Time will tell as I am off back to the Med in a month or so!

  • Mms sending problems

Any one else having the same issues with mms as I am?  Pictures and videos taken with the iPhone won't send unless it's in 3G mode.  Would this be hardware, software, or network issues?  In any case, I hope there's a fix for it soon because I don't get 3G at my house!

i have the att iphone and canceled my internet and it wont let me send mms only sms, its because it has to have the internet (3g) activated because the mms are considered "data:" and they go thru the 3g network, must be the same for verizon. try dialing *228 when your at home or anywhere it gets crappy service to update the roaming capabilities, maybe then the 3g will be able to work in house. btw does the verizon iphone have the same "death grip" problem as the att?

  • Replying to SMS or MMS sends Re:|

I have a Nextel Blackberry 8350i. When I reply to sms or mms, it always includes Re before the body of my text. On my friends smartphone (Blackberry bold) it shows Re with the straight face emoticon. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?
    Thanks

Well I don't know which handset you are using but on N95 and N97 all I do is select new message, option add recipient scroll down the list of contacts and select OK then send message ! Just one thought, in your contacts-options-settings-memory in use . Are you using sim or phone memory, you need to use phone memory for caller ID to work, this could be the problem, but I'm just surmising !!

  • Receiving MMS message issue

I'm having a problem with my Blackberry Z10. I typically use the MMS feature to group text with my friends. When I'm receiving a text in the MMS message chain, it automatically turns the last message from the same person outside the MMS into a new message. For example, if friend A sends me a message within the group text, the last message that I received from Friend A that is outside will now show in the Blackberry Hub as a new message. Each MMS message shows as two new messages even though it is only one. Is there anyway to fix this? It's very annoying.

Hi yidam and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!
Does the freezing only occur when receiving an MMS message or do you experience the same behavior with SMS messages too?

    Hi all,
we have a strange issue with only with Outlook for Mac Users (version 2011 and the newest Outlook Version (V15) from Office 365) connected to our Exchange Server 2013 SP1. Some emails which we send out to the exactly same recipient are not sent through our
    Exchange Server.
We have sent 8 emails with subject "test1, test2, test3...". Only test 3-6 was arriving to the recipient. The other emails are in the "sent" folder but it was not sent out through the Exchange.
What we can see with "Get-MessageTrackingLog" is, that the Recipients and MessageSubject are empty for these emails:

  • Double MMS sending after upgrade to OS 3.0

    Hi Guys,
After upgrading OS of my phone to 3.0 i am not able to send MMS properly. When i submit new mms it is arriving to destination 2 times and i am getting delivery failure response. Is there anybody who has this problem?
p.s: i collected tcp dump information taken from mms center of gsm operator, it is clear that iphone is submitting this mms message 2 times.
    Thanks,
    Message was edited by: azizo

When you say 2nd generation iPhone, you mean the 3G?
The reason I ask is because MMS is not supported with firmware update 3.0 with the first generation iPhone.
When Apple announced the release of firmware update 3.0 at their WWDC, all carriers for the iPhone in all countries were not going to have MMS available for the iPhone when 3.0 was released. AT&T in the U.S. was one of the carriers not ready. AT&T will have MMS available for the iPhone sometime this summer.
Have you checked with your carrier for the iPhone to see if they have MMS enabled for the 3G & 3GS?

  • Hp officejet j4580 Fax sending issue

I can send faxes to 800- numbers but when I use an area code, I hear a ring and then my landline phone clicks on, evidently to intercept the fax and the fax machine rings for a while and then quits.

    Hi there @PGROWTH ,
    Welcome to the forums
I read about the faxing issues you're having with your Officejet J4580 when sending a fax to a number either than a 1-800 number.
I would suggest trying these steps in this guide: Can Receive Faxes But Cannot Send Them
    Also try a power reset:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your fax issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you, such as a replacement or trade in. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and if you are calling outside of the US/Canada region,: click here.
