Mobile Alerts via Visual Composer ??

Dear All,
Can we create simple mobile alerts in Visual Composer e.g Goods remaing below certain level etc
Do we need some extra hardware for that. I assume we do need licenses for that
Thanks

  • No access to Enterprise Services via Visual Composer

    Hi,
I've configured the new landscape of EsWorkplace (HU2/800) in the Visual Administrator.
After I start the Visual Composer and log in I get the list of Enterprise services normally, but when I click on the Enteprise Service to get the Data service to model in the story board, nothing happens and I can't get the Data service.
Can anybody help in this issue?

    Hi Ghosh,
I had used fine the EsWorkplace environment until the update of the landscape, when the system id was FU2. I used the Enterprises Services directly in Visual Composer and  used in the NetWeaver Developer Studio by CAF Services too.
When SAP changed the landscape (system id HU2)  I received another password for my userid.
I changed my WebService Security in the Visual Administrator and when I started the test, I see that I don't get to use the Enterprise Services directly in the Visual Composer.
The applications that I created in the Developer Studio still work fine, but When I select the button "Find Data",  select the HU2 system , and select the search button the result is showed at the screen , but when I click on the Enterprise Service nothing happens, and I can't get the Service for model at the Story board.

  • Connect to a backend system with the BI connector via Visual Composer

    Hi all,
I set up a system landscape on my notebook with the NW2004s ABAP as NSP and with the NW2004s JAVA SP7 as J2E. Both systems are integrated in the SLD, this is set up. Furthermore I installed a BI system alias as NSP_XMLA in the portal with the URL for the backend system: http://localhost:8000/sap/bw/xml/soap/xmla.
I have the same user on portal and backend system NSP. Both have admin previleges.
When I try to logon to the backend system with this URL I get this error:
"No switch to HTTPS occurred, so it is not secure to send a password"
" Choose "Logon" to continue A dialog box appears in which you can enter your user and password"
Then I can logon to the server and get a lot of XML.
But I have to manually logon to the system.
From the portal I cannot logon to the backend system with the test function. I get the error:
Alias is found, but connection failed.
I guess there must be an automatic logon preconfigured.
    How can I do this?
    Is SSO necessary?
    thanks for any help

    Hi Gregor,
thanks for your answer, which was intersting but could not solve the problem. In the meantime I discoverd the reason for it.
You have to insert the connection URL to the BW system at 2 points in the system.
    1. You have to configure the XMLA connector with the Visual Administrator.
    2. You must implement a system in the portal where you configure all necessary information, also the URL to the BW system.
This seems somewhat strange to me because you will then not be able to connect with two or more BW systems to the portal and VC what is centainly necessary in a real world scenario. Anyway I can now see all Infoproviders of the BW system in the VC, and SSO isn't necessary because you configure the information to login to the BW system directly in the configuration of the XMLA connector in Visual Administrator.

  • Stored procedure in visual composer

    Hi All,
I created an application in visual composer. I also created a stored procedure in Oracle Database. For getting Data via Visual composer, I created a JDBC system in portal.
    1. But how does this Stored procedure gets reflected under JDBC system? so that i can pull it using "Data" task panel and get data in visual composer?
    2. or how does this JDBC system pull the stored procedure in oracle database?
what should i do for that?

  • Visual Composer and Pocket PC

    Hi forum,
we have just try to develop a nice model with a bapi for sales order list. We have just deply it and it works fine in Windows PC with IE or Mozzilla.
We have also try with a Microsoft Pocket PC device (Windows Pocket PC 2003 ver 4.21.1088 in EN Language). Into this device we have already installed Adobe Flash Player 8.0.
We try in Pocket PC but...
"I-View is not compatible with your browser, opereting system or device"
    (or something like that)
Does SAP support Pocket PC (or other mobile device) with Visual Composer ?
    - I think no
    Other way ? ... Web SAPconsole ? WebDympro ? other ?
    Regards.
    Ganimede Dignan.

At least, you can check if the flash file works. Open the iView on an usual PC, right click the iView, open the source code and search for an HTML Tag "Object". in its property "data", you will find the URL for your flash. This URL you can use on your mobile device to access the flash application.
If you want to use your flash application without portal, you can do it this way. But if you can use the Portal or anything in an iView on a mobile device, i don't know.
    Best regards,

  • Runtime error in Visual Composer

I'm develping a Composite View in Visual Composer using BAPIs. I'm using BAPIs just because my SLD isn't ready to publish the enterprise services from ECC and SCM/APO. The main objective is learn how to use VC to create applications consuming data from BAPIs, Web Services, BI Query etc...
I developed a simple application using the bapi: BAPI_LOCSVAPS_GETLIST2 from sap APO.
    Inputs ports:
            LOCATION_SELECTION - TABLE
            Input: LOGICAL_SYSTEM and MAX_NUMBER_OF_LOCATIONS - signal
The problem is the following: when only the out port ouput is used, there isn't any problem, and is possible to compile and deploy the Composite View and the output (NUMBER OF LOCATIONS FOUND) is correct.
But if I try to select some TABLE out port like LOCATION_TEXT, an error occurs in runtime (compile and deploy without problems): Connection Error: contact your system administrator: HTTP request error.
I tested the RFC Connections and also, tested the BAPI using the Test Data Service and all the tests were ok and that's why I don't know what is wrong. In design time there isn't any problem, instead in runtime the error mentioned above occurs.
    EHP1 SP1 for SAP Netweaver 7.1
    IE Version 7.0.6001.18000
Data Source :ECC and SAP APO u2013 In VC is used BAPIs, configured via RFC Destination

    Hi,
I think "Implementing a GP Interface" makes no sense in this case. Take a look at <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/vc/limitationsofWeb+Dynpro&">VC: Limitations of Web Dynpro</a>.
It seems that Web Dynpro in VC is not supporting all kinds of services and functions.

Visual Composer is a model-driven development tool that allows business experts to create and adapt analytical and free-styled applications without writing code. Visual Composer 7.0 is the General Availability (GA) release; Visual Composer 6.0 introduced the freestyle model-to-code creation of analytical appli- cations and it was intended as a preview tool for evaluation purposes.
Visual Composer now connects to SAP NetWeaver BI via a Remote Function Call (RFC) rather than a Web service connection. The resulting communication between the portal and SAP NetWeaver BI works faster, especially in cases of large query results. With these added functionalities, users can create more user-friendly, powerful analytical applications using Visual Composer, such as Executive Dashboards.
    Visual Composers Features -

New Features of Visual Composer 7.0
Visual Composer 7.0 is part of SAP NetWeaver Portal in SAP NetWeaver 2004s. This release focuses on SAP Analytics and offers significant changes from the previous Visual Composer release. The most notable changes include:
Visual Composer now runs on the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) Engine of SAP NetWeaver Application Server (SAP NetWeaver AS). Therefore, you no longer need Internet Information Services (IIS) 5, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, and Microsoft .NET Framework.
Visual Composer now can generate iViews for Web Dynpro (the SAP NetWeaver programming model for user interfaces) and Adobe Flash Player 8 or higher in SAP NetWeaver Portal. You can create Internet applications by integrating Adobe Flex Server and Web Dynpro.
Visual Composer now integrates BI content from SAP or non-SAP systems using BI Java Connectors (part of BI Universal Data Integration 7.0).

  • How to write plan data into Transactional Cube from Visual Composer ?

    Dear experts,
Visual Composer is very powerfull to build a 'nice-looking' web-report (I think is much better than Web Application Designer in term of freely position the chart/graph/table/selection parameter in anywhere we like. We can't have this flexibility in WAD) plus it also has strong integration to R/3 for posting the  transactions via RFC-Enabled Function Module (such as changing customer credit limit, approve PO, approve Sales Order, etc), so that the R/3 user won't even have to know the TrxCode.
In addition to this, I just wondering if VC also capable to write plan data into transactional cube via Write-Enable Query. We can simply insert a BW Query into VC as planning layout (set the edit-mode to "editable") plus having some Wizards to make it more user-friendly and self-explanatory for the users.
But I am not sure how to save the changes back to transactional cube from VC.
Could anyone please kindly advise how to achieve this.
"Seeing is believing" is always my learning method, so I would appreciate some "actioanable" explanation or hints.
    Many thanks,
    Sen

    Hi Sen,
As far as I know, it's not possible to write data into transactional cubes directly from a table in Visual Composer through standar method, but it's possible to integrate a WAD with your input ready query into a URL element in VC (You can fill entry variables in VC and call WAD dinamically), so it's possible to create a planning application in VC calling dinamically WAD's.
Another way to interact through VC is creating button objects that calls planning sequences (with BAPI calling RSPLS_PLSEQ_EXECUTE). Also can fill variables in VC and pass them to sequence.
    Regards,
    Enrique

  • BPM TOOL, what is Visual Composer Vs  any other BPM Tool

Could you please share information regarding using a modeling tool to author business process [as-is/to-be]
ours is new implemantation and we already own sap business suite software, and our implementation /configuration Team is considering of using a bpm tool to do capture the processes.
my question is what leverage can we take of Visual Composer ? when compared with other BPM Tool.

If you have license for SAP Suite, then there is lot of things you can leverage with VC than it being useless if otherwise.
    1. You can combine the output from the quick design and code free modeling environment of Visual Composer with the output from a full coding environment like Web Dynpro ABAP or BSP? Actually you can do just such a thing thanks to Portal Eventing. You can trigger event from VC. Yes, you can combine ABAP and VC
    2. You can extend Visual Composer through Web Services
    3. You can do an MDM integration in VC - combining data from varied sources
    4. You can build a Web Services Based Visual Composer Application. Visual Composer has the capability to easily link to and consume a web service from within the SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer storyboard.
Also, if you are using BSP, these applications can be linked  into a Visual Composer application. The linking is done via portal eventing. Linking these two technologies into a single application with receiving and parsing the Visual Composer event string from within ABAP.
    5. SAP has released 300+ Enterprise Services and there are many ways to consume these. A BPX can use Visual Composer and the Composite Application Framework (CAF) to consume SAP Enterprise Services using MDD - Model drived development.
    6. SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer users can develop rich graphical interfaces that extend current investments in their SAP NetWeaver infrastructure by using Flex technology (colloboration with Macromdeia) , and businesses can gain credible, clear and comprehensive business insights through new analytics solutions. There are 100+ IS specific Analytic Applications.
With the new improvements in VC 7.0 it is very clear that the future benefits align and will be much more leveraged with Visual composer
    Hope this helps
    Cheers

  • Is it possible in Visual Composer

    Hi All,
I am not an expert in Visual Composer, but I do know it is useful to access adhoc data from the production environment. I have a requirement to extract historical data from NON-SAP database (DB2), since we are not planning to convert some historical data.
Let some one tell me whether I can access data from non-sap database, which is sitting outside. Also I want to use the tool to do extract data from BW, R/3 and DB2 at the same time in one screen?
Any material reference will help as well.
    Thanks,
    Alex.

    Hi Alex,
yes, that is possible. You can connect your DB2 via the BI JDBC Connector (look <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/b3/c3c4135e074ab4900bfdc2ae6c9e79/frameset.htm">here</a> and scroll down). At the same time, on the same screen you can connect R/3-Data, BW-Data, CSV-Data, Webservice-Data, ...

  • How to use BEx or Visual Composer to visualize 3rd party tool data?

    Hello,
could you give me ideas how to visualize non-SAP warehouse data with BEx or Visual Composer?
I know that one option is virtual provider with connection to external DW. I do not want to load data into BW.
Is there any other way? If yes, how it can be done?

    3.3 Connectivity and Interoperability
    This section briefly describes:
    • The means of connecting Visual Composer Storyboard to the required back-end systems
    • The technology environments to which models composed in Storyboard can be deployed
    Connectivity with Back-End Systems
Visual Composer provides tools that let you connect via the portal to back-end applications defined in the portal system landscape. This connection enables you to import into your model the relevant function modules on which you want to base your iViews. The imported function modules are referred to as data services.
Normally, you can connect to any installation of a back-end application to import a data service, and then deploy the content to any portal that enables access to an instance of the same back-end application. However, if the customer installation of the back-end application includes customized function modules, you will need to import the data services in the customer environment, in order to retrieve the customized functions.
Most connections to back-end systems are accomplished using the SAP and JDBC connectors deployed automatically as part of the connector framework installed with the portal. The SAP connector provides access to R/3 and BW systems, while the JDBC connector provides access to a wide range of databases, including Microsoft SQL, Oracle, DB2 and others.
BI connectors, installed separately in the portal, can be used to access a range of different data, including multidimensional cubes, relational tables and queries. Connectivity is based on defining a system in the portal landscape. You may define systems for the following connections:
    • BI XMLA
    • BI ODBO
    • BI JDBC
    • BI SAP Query
In addition, you can configure the BW system, installed automatically with the SAP connector, for accessing predefined queries.
The following table describes the systems from which Visual Composer can import data, and the connectors that are required. The “Connector” (second column) indicates the name of the connector used to install the system in the portal.

  • Is SAP Query (SQ01) supported by Visual Composer?

Do you know if it is possible to easily integrate a query developed in an ABAP backend system via SAP Query (transaction SQ01) in Visual Composer?
