Mobile Archive Converter

Hi All
I have installed and configured MI7.0 and everything is working fine. We upgraded the SP to 12 so that to deploy the SDA files using the Mobile Archive Converter. Now we were able to see the the SDA/SCA deployment tabs but once I try to deploy any sda file, on clicking the SDA/SCA deployment tab I get the following error message
"Unable to retrieve details. Reason:Could not connect to the middleware"
Usually this error comes if JCO is not properly configured. But I am able to retrieve all the mobile components and I get this error only in mobile archive converter that too when trying to deploy sda files. As of now we deploy through SDM and then reload to see it in the NWA.
Had any one come across this problem. Please advice
Thanks
Raj

In the NWA under SAP Mobile Infrastructure-> Mobile Archive Converter
For me the "Application type" dropdown box on the Archive converter screen don't has any entries (blank dropdown list box) . it is a mandytory field.... Do you know this is because on any authorization or some table data i need to populate??????
Thanks for your help in advance.

    Hi Greetson,
Please check whether you have done the configurations for setting up of the NWA, because these fields are automatically retrieved if it is correctly configured.

  • Reg Mobile Archive Converter (Fileds are disabled)

    Hi All
I have configured the MI server and is working fine. Only problem I face is, few fields in the Mobile Archive Converter are disabled and there is no application types found in the "Application Type" drop down. So I am not able to convert the war file to SDA. Since MTT applications are provided with sda I was able to deploy them successfully. But I would like to sovle this issue to convert other application war files.
I went throught the solution given in the forum. I have all rights assigned to the user I use, and also tried with the j2eeadmin, it is the same.
    The fields disabled are
    -Runtime
    -Operating System
    -Processor
    -Language
-No application types found in "Application Type" drop down.
    Help would be appriciated.
    Thanks
    Raj

    Hi Rajesh,
Please check if user logged on NWA has the following UME permissions.
    1. ArchiveConverter
    2. ACLAdministration
This you can check via  -: http://serverID:portnumber/useradmin
Search for the role assigned to logged on NWA user and check if the above 2 action assigned that role or not.
    Is ArchiveConverter displaying any message?
If yes and the message is "can not read the initial settings from middleware" then Please check the settings of SAPJRA.
Settings you can find in SDN check my all posts.

    Hi,
what he is talking about: when you setup the system, in the J2EE Vusial Admion tool - the tool you start from the command line with go.bat - you have to setup the JCoRFC and the SAPJRA provider.
From the last problem you had I remember you had several clients you connected to. Ok, at the end it was the wrong version of the client, but anyhow, you connected to several clients.
Well, in this case Satyendra asks, if thesettings in J2EE Visual Admin are pointing to client 800 or to another client.
Well, because the table is cross client, it should not make a difference in my understanding, but as you are using Client 800 it is good to change these settings to client 800 as well. Hve a look here for the installation guide:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/a3/583aef1baa6d42b22bedcb4dec5db9/frameset.htm
Check to points for Configure SAp Netweaver AS -> Mobile Administrator.
One thing I am wondering: you said earlier you had been able in the past to deploy Apps without problems - what have you changed after that? Is it that you are using another client now?
Hope this helps to get you back to work!

  • Authorisation error when trying to create .sda files

    Hi ,
we have NW 04s with SP14 usage type MI installed. We used template wiz to configure our system. When we bring up NWA and after providing necessary information under Mobile Archive Converter we consistently get error " You are not authorized to create SDA archives" . the user which is used to create this archive has role Admin as described in Config guide and this has been assigned to the user in MI abap stack via SU01.
is there a way to find out what authorization is missing ? is there a log that I can read to find out more.
Edited by: manish salvi on Feb 5, 2008 2:33 AM

    Hi,
there is an additional Role in the J2EE necessary for the user.... (well, that you have known already.... :-$)
The name of the role is something like "J2EE Mobile Admin". This is missng in the config guide. Add it to the user and you should be able to upload SDA files via NWA.
Hope this helps. Sorry that I do not have the exact name, but I am at the customer side at the moment with only limited access to the system.

  • MAM 25 application installation error in the client

    Hi,
While installing the MAM25 application in the client , i get the following error
Exception while installing application MAM25; check application type (root cause: Unknown application type 'Application type classname was null' [com.sap.ip.me.core.UnknownApplicationTypeException])
I have downloaded the MAM25.war (MAM2.5 SR5) file from the service site , converted the same into sda file in NW administrator and have uploaded the same into MI server with an Application type=  "Application" . This Mobile component was then assigned to the client, which is at MI7.0 SPS10 with patch level 1.
Any ideas on what maybe wrong?
    Thanks
    Narasimhan

    Hi Narasimhan
There must have been a problem while uploading the application in NW administrator or while assigning it to the device.  MAM is a JSP application which can be assigned to MI JSP Client only and not to AWT Client. Has this been taken care of ??? Also while uploading the application in the Mobile Archive Converter, apart from choosing the application type as Application, also make sure that you choose the runtime as "JSP".  Please incorporate this and do let me know if the error persists

  • Help needed -- Install MI client on Win 32

    Hi,
I want to install a MI client on my desktop for MI app development with NW 7.0. The way I used is to install it by url. The url is determined and service for installing it through url is enabled. On the installation page I tried both the awt and jsp installation but got the same error message:
Load the following file to your mobile device:  *
No installation file exists yet for selected component.  *
Can anyone help me with it? I'm a newbie. Thanks a lot!
    Best regards,
    Hadrian

    Hi Sivakumar
First, thank you a lot! I read a forum thread about client installation through URL. It says someone needs to upload the installation file first. And now by your help I know how to do it. But there is a new problem. On the Mobile Archive Converter page, there is a message "Could not connect to middleware" under the page title "Mobile Archive Converter". All input fields, except the dropdown list "Application type" and the checkbox "Link to SAP MI Homepage", are not enabled. And there is no content inside the dropdown list "Application type". Do you have any idea about that?
Besides that, should a link to the mobile administrator be visible under the mobile infrastructure menu on NW admin page? And I can't find any mobile admin related roles, like "SAP_JAVA_NWMOBILE_HG_ADMIN". Do you know what's the reason?
Btw, this morning I used a .sca client installation package to install the jsp client environment. And I succeeded in the initial synchronization with my NW server.
    And thank you again!
    Regards,
    Hadrian

  • Developing in MI Enviroment

    Hey MI Guys,

i start in NWDS by creating a jsp mi project. after programming a couple lines of code i click export war file. and store it in the webapps folder.
what are my next steps now. how can i run the program?
and if i am finally happy with what i have done, how can i deploy the programm to my was(2004s)
    Thanks,
    Philipp

    Hi Philipp,
About Go to NWA->Administrator>Mobile infrastructure>Mobile Archive Converter...
    I have nw2004s SPS 10
What i do to run the SAP examples..
    1) Export the MI Application from the NW Developer Studio into the Webapps folder.
    2) Login in the Mobile Server and execute transaction <b>MCD</b>
2.1 You have to define your Mobile Component Descriptor, for example:
    Mobile Solution Name:     MDK_CONFIGEXAMPLEEVENTJSP
    Version:                  <b>0.1</b>
Short Text:               PRIMERA VERSION DEL EJEMPLO 2 DEL HELP.
    Component Type  :         APPLICATION
    Runtime Environment:      JSP
2.2 In the same transaction go to the <b>Deployment </b>TAB  in my case i have an apache server running on my mobile server:
    SETUPFILES     WEBSERVER     http://erick:80
    SETUPFILES     LOCALPATH
    SETUPFILES     WEBPATH     /MDK_CONFIGEXAMPLEEVENTJSP.war
The file MDK_CONFIGEXAMPLEEVENTJSP.war is the one that you export in the webapps folder. I put it in -> C:\apache\htdocs\MDK_CONFIGEXAMPLEEVENTJSP.war
    3) Go to you NWA in my case is: http://erick:50100/nwa
    3.1 Fill this form...
    Administrator>Mobile infrastructure>Mobile Archive Converter
    Vendor: YourCompany
    Application type: APPLICATION
    Name: MDK_CONFIGEXAMPLEEVENTJSP
Description: This is the SAP Example
    Version: <b>0.1</b>
    Build Number: 01
    Runtime: JSP
    Operating System: *
    Processor: *
    Language: *
Link to SAP MI Homepage: CHECK This!!
    Upload File: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrador\Escritorio\MDK_CONFIGEXAMPLEEVENTJSP.war
    Uploaded File:
    Download File:
    3.2 Click on Generate SDA...
3.3 It will ask you four your SDM password, i use the Master Password, an it works.
    3.4 next next....
    3.5 Start Deployment....
3.6 At the end it will ask you for RELOAD the ABAP and JAVA say YES.
    3.7 Close..
that all! search for your mobile component
    Administrator>Mobile infrastructure>Mobile Components
When you see your application you have to assign  it to your "Device"  Please follow this steps, to install the SAP Example MDK_CONFIGEXAMPLEEVENTJSP.war In your server.
You need to learn how to work with the NWA so you can install the application in your mobile clients, you need to understand concepts like:
    - Device Configuration
    - Mobile Component
    - Hierarchy Grouping
    - MCD
I hope this helps, i am a newbie too, so maybe this are not the best practices!!!
    Best Regards,
    Erick Ilarraza

Please be aware that just because something can be made to seemingly work does not mean that Oracle will support it. Problems which may occur on unsupported platforms or with unsupported configurations will not be considered defects unless the issue is reproducible on a supported configuration.
Neither Citrix environments or mobile environments are supported for use with Oracle Forms.

  • How to Enable Deploy SDA

    Hi all,
I'm trying to deploy a Mobile Component SDA file using Mobile Administrator on SAP NW 2004s. According to the SAP Library at Mobilizing Bussiness Process document online I have to switch to the Archive Converter function and choose Deploy SDA button after converting my WAR to SDA, if it's necessary, but Deploy button is missing!
What I have to do to enable this button to deploy my application?
By the way, I'm trying to deploy SAP MAM 2.5 application.
    Regards,
    Rogério

    Hi Rogerio
Yes it is not possible to deploy SDA files using NW Admin if you are on SPs09 since this feature was delivered only as part of 04s SPs10.  If you are on 09, then you need to user the SDM tool only to deploy the SDAs and no other option is available. We also knew the pain of developers needs to undergo since they have no physical access to the server and this was the reason why we developed this feature and delivered it as part of SPs10.  I don not understand why you are afraid of using SPs10. Just go ahead and upgrade to SPs10 which will enable developers to deploy the SDAs using NW Admin itself.

  • Applet shows in IE but not netscape

Any Ideas? In IE, the <applet> tag doesn't work with Swing applets. To make it work, you can use code like the following. (I copied it from my english-to-metric conversions page.)
And no, I didn't write all this myself; the JDK comes with a program called HTMLConverter, which will convert the <applet> tag into code that's supposed to work on all browsers. Instructions for it are somewhere on this site.

now going ahead to deploy into XI server through SDM.
can we deploy jar files directly into xiserver through SDM. or it needs to convert to any other formate like EAR, SDA. then how would i convert to SDA.
i any have clear idea on this... pls throw the ways how to convert........
               JAR File to EAR format
               JAR file to SDA format
               EAR file to SDA format
can any one explain the procedure step by step how to convert jar file into deployment archive file in order to succesfully into XI server.
thanks  i advance. points will be rewarded.
      Regards
      Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
JAR file in itself in not deployable.
So v need to envelop this jar file into an EAR file and then v deploy this EAR file on SDM.
    Creating Jar
Inside NWDS --> Windows --> Open perspective --> J2EE Development --> right click on ur proj --> Build EJB Archive
    Converting .EAR file to .SDA
    Converting .EAR file to .SDA
