Mobile Black Spot Program Tower (Abercrombie NSW)

We have found out that our area will have a series of new towers funded under Round 1 of the Mobile Black Spot Program through the Abercrombie Gorge in NSW.   I have been informed by the Dept. Communications that the Round 1 Funding will start to see results by the end of 2015, rolled out over a three year period. I was also informed that the funded providers (Telstra and Vodafone) will both be required to have a live database of the status and progress of each base station such as Location, Key Build Milestones, and expected Go-Live dates. We have been without any mobile service since the Analogue system was turned off, and we have never had internet here since they stopped using the phone line based Dial up modems. The satellite internet we have is so sub-par that I am sure third world countries have faster and more reliable internet than we get... Our whole area is very keen on having some basic (and hopefully advanced) services available to us. So, my question is  ...  When are we likely to see this live database ... so I can see when we might realisitically start getting some services in our area?

It is looking like there is a place for that information on the Communication department's National Map, however if and when Telstra have a map available for viewing, the chances are that it would be posted on the Telstra Exchange at the time of it being released.
However I am not sure if anyone where would be able to help with any further information... at least until such time as it is announced...
I would say, given it is usually the case, that as soon as more information is announced that it will be on the Telstra Exchange, so subscribing for updates might be beneficial
https://exchange.telstra.com.au/
otherwise one of the moderators might be able to help further but considering it is only starting to be rolled out 'by the end of the year' information might be limited until each tower is commenced or at least order is confirmed with the Department of Communication / ACMA etc...

  • Black Spots on Droid X

I recently developed several black spots on my Droid X screen.  The spots appear to be multiplying and I am afraid that soon I will not be able to see my screen or use the phone.  In researching online I found out that Verizon has a Certified Pre-Owned program, but I could not purchase a pre-owned device online, I had to go into a store or call the customer serivce number.  Since a local store is only about five miles away I went to the store and was told that Verizon stores do not have Certiifed Pre-owned devices.  I explained to the service reprepresentive that the Verizon website indicated that store did in fact have Certified Pre-owned devices, but he insisted that none of the stores carried the pre-owned devices any longer.  I also informed the service representative that I had purchased a pre-owned phone at a different local store a few years ago for abut $50.00.
Leaving the store frustrated, I called Verizon customer serivce and was told that I could order a pre-owned device that was similiar to my Droid X for $419.00.  Of course, that was shockng!
I have been an Verizon customer for approximately 10 years and did not expect to recieve this type of serivce.  It appears that there is no regard for customer loyalty.  I am requesting assistance from someone at Verizon to replace my Droid X or replace the screen.  I am not looking for a handout, just good reasonable customer service.

the store rep was an idiot, in what has become the norm in dealing with them when not making a purchase.
if you have insurance or still in warranty, verizon cs can replace with a cpo equivalent of the droid x.

  • IPod 4th gen screen lifting and black spot, what do I do?

Ok so like 2 months ago my iPod 4th gen screen started lifting. I was like woah I have to get that fixed but the weird part was that I had never dropped it. Also after a while it started getting a black spot right next to where it was lifting. I ignored it at first because it was small but then it started getting bigger. My case has kept it together but to clean it I have to take it off and when I snapped it back on the corner where it was lifting cracked. I don't know if this was something like they didn't put on the screen right but I don't wanna have to pay so much to fix something that they did if it was their fault. Help please what do I do
    Would the warranty cover this?

If the iPod was not abused it is covered by the warranty.

  • Black spots with RemoteApps using the Microsoft Remote Desktop on a mac

Hi, I'm dealing with a very strange problem with black spots while using a remoteapp. See the picture for the black spots. It's only happening when I use the MS Remote Desktop App on a mac (version 8.0.12, latest version of the appstore).
The RDS enviroment that we're using is Server 2012 R2 based with all the RD roles installed on several servers. Has someone any idea where to look? I've tried several things, LAN experience on the RD Web access disabled, new user without roaming profile,
nothing works. Sorry for the big picture...

  • Black spots when taking a picture

When I take photos or videos, two black spots appear at the screen, this just happens when taking a photo or video so I guess that it might be something with the camera. I would like to know why is this happening and if there is any solution. This is really annoying so please help me,
    Pablo

Are the spots in the same places every time? Do you have an example picture?

  • Had mobile hot spot with 5g and then they moved it into my share paln

What a rip off.  We went in to upgrade two phones..$400 and they told me I should change my family plan to a new share everything plan & it would be cheaper.  What a scam. Now I get 2 gig data to share with a mobile hot spot & 2 data phones.  The old plan had 5 g on the mobile hotspot FOR $50/MO.
THEY DID NOT INFORM ME THAT THe HOT SPOT WOULD HAVE TO SHARE DATA WITH THE REST OF THE PHONES. Now , on day after it's too late to return the upgrade phones & go back to my old plan I GET A WARNING THAT I'M OVER THE DATA ALLOWANCE.. Customer service did nothing but charge me $ 10 more a month until the contract runs out on the hot spot and then I tell them to put it where the, take this &  you know.... the thing never worked very well in the first place. I think they should have giving me some free data for the next few month a least.  Do you think they explain the so called up grades well????

When did the plan go into affect has it been more than 24 hours?

  • Black Spots on Lumia 1020, this one is like a Mark...

I know there are lot of posts on the same issue, the reasons still i am posting this here is for some clarifications.
Is this a Issue with the Screen Display?
is this common for all AMOLED screens of 1020?
only few complain on this? Rest of the users are getting out of box no issues of any sort with display.
I have bought this online, and i have 30 days return policy.
can some please Suggest me? does replacement guarantee that i dont get a similar device, because everyone are saying its AMOLED thing,  Please advice.
Please Note, this is visible only during Complete darkness in the room, during nights, GLANCE screen makes it visible, CORTANA screen Makes it Visible and some Third party App screens with Greyish or blackish backgrounds makes it Visible.
This is annoying and takes of the experience of having this awesome device.
Is this COMMON or RARE Situation what i have, sorry i did not use proper punctuation and grammar as i am sad and confused.

Hi Prashanth, I got replacement yesterday and this one is better than the previous one. i hardly  see any spots with naked eye during regular use under low light conditions, if i focus during the night on black screen i see few tiny specs. but they dont bother me anymore while watching videos or in pitch black env.
i am not gonna care much now, and make peace with this replacement, learnt that its very hard to get a AMOLED screen with zero black spots.
    Hope it helps.

  • Black spots on printouts.

We have a Cannon MFC multi color laser printer, we changed the black print cartridge and when we print black/White , the printouts have black spots and other letters in the background. Can anyone please let us know if they had the same issye and what they did to fix it.
    Thanks

    Thank you nvenktesh,
Your paper, toner cartridge or the need to clean an internal unit can factor into the issue.  Please first ensure that supported paper is being used: Paper drawer/16 to 32 lb (60 to 120 g/m2); Stack Bypass Tray/ 16 to 47 lb (60 to 176 g/m2).  Note:  Highly textured, very smooth or shiny paper do not print well.
If print or image quality is affected, and when replacing your Canon toner cartridge, cleaning the Fixing Assembly is very useful.  Visit the link and select the article "Cleaning the Machine" for details on cleaning the assembly.
Please contact us if further assistance is needed.

  • Macbook pro 17 dispaly black spots

have a glossy screen 17 inch mb pro. In the middle of the screen some light grey black spots have appeared. they seem to be under the screen but over the underlying image etc. has anyone else had this problem??

    Hi,
I had the same thing happen to my MBP. They changed my display, but unfortunately I got one of these horrible, grainy displays that everybody is talking about. I am trying to figure out which model was originally in my laptop, since the quality was much better (except for the gray spots that appeared). Do you know what model you have in your MBP?
    Cheers,
    Olivier

  • Nokia N8, Camera Issue: Black spot

Saw others have had the same issue.. and tried the "solutions"
Black spot in same location on every picture / live preview of the image on the camera mode.
tired cleaning the lens, does not work. Guess its a hardware problem/ faulty lens?
need a bit of info before i go back to Virgin to get a new hand set

I just had the same issue appear on my Nokia N8. I looked back in my pictures and it started about two hours ago based on pictures I'd taken (I take a lot!).
Anyway I searched for the solutions you had referred to and found ones saying a shake of the phone resolves the problem. I tried but to no avail, I still had a dark spot. I read further about explanation of dust or micro-organism (and how this should not be possible as they units are sealed airtight in the factory) and decided that I would knock the phone against my hand (more forgiving than a wall or table) to see if this helped. Lo and behold the dark spot disappeared!
It is worrying that there may be something falling around in front of the lens of my camera and just hope it does not reappear soon....

  • MacBook Pros and the case getting black spots?

My old PB17 had all sorts of problems with the area around the keypad starting to get "black spots" after a few months of use.
I got the case replaced once because I complained about it, and then put a pad-thingie around the trackpad, where I rest my palms. So it is pristeen right now and for when I sell or give away the old one.
Now that my new MacBook Pro has I arrived I was wondering: these cases looks the same as the old PB - so do they have the same "black holes in the aluminum" problem?
    doug

Yup, MacBook Pro's are affected by this. Mine is having quite the significant problem with these little speckles.

  • Black spot on my iPhone 3Gs Camera

Even though outer hardware looks completely damage less, the Camera is showing small black spot and it's also showing up on the picture i take with it.
It just simply dosen't go away,
I been to everywhere and they all come with same answer; "go to apple"
I wondering if apple will exchange this right away with out a hassle.
Anyone had same problem? what do you do about it?

I´ve noticed the same think as you. On my camscreen I´ve got a crocked line.
Didn´t have that black line before, so I´ve thought it was a minor bump that caused this to happend.
So... hmm... If a bump on the cam side of the phone could cause this, a new
bump on the same side would fix it again?
Down to business: smack! right on my knee twice, and look: the black spot in
the cam app is now gone!
Think I should go to the store and let them have a look at it.
But wait for weeks for a replaced/fixed one? Don´t think so.
So if you dare: Try slapp your baby once or twice on the lense side corner.
    Worked for me!
