Mobile camera as webcam

I wanna know if i can use my Nokia 3110 classic phone as webcam.

Can't be done on a S40 phone such as the 3110 classic.
There's an application called "mobiola" but it is for S60 symbian phones.

  • How to use mobile camera 6500 slide as webcam

anyone can help me with this problem?i want to use my mobile camera nokia 6500 slide as webcam on pc.is it any software available for this application. i'm already know about mobiola and wwigo but i can't use them because my phone does not support sis file and my laptop actually does't have bluetooth.plz help me immediately

Nokia 6500 and many other Nokia models use the Series 40
    software platform. According to
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/Resources_and_Information/Explore/Software_Platforms/Series_40/
it is "the world's most widely used mobile device platform".
Many of the phones have a camera and they are even able to
do video calling (video telephony), e.g. Nokia 3120 classic,
as they have a front camera also.
I'm sure many users of such phones (including me) would like
to have an application that would turn the phone into a
    webcam device for a PC.

  • The video that is recorder through my mobile camera can't be seen in mobile screen

I need to record through by mobile camera and play it in browser of my website. In my mobile phone the frame that should show the video is created by flash player but it is just white and no video (preview) is seem inside the frame.
The video that is recorded through my mobile camera should be seen in the frame but it is not there.
I used HUAWEI and sumsong mobiles and both use Android.
I later made an Air for Android application and used CameraUI class. It works in desktop and shows the video captured by webcam but still it dose not work on the mobile.
Thank you very much for your prompt answer

same thing is happening with mine, every solutions proposed require a fully charged battery, but there's just no way to charge it, computer is not recognizing it anymore, and pluging it into the wall doesn't work either, so is there left to do? thow the $500 object in the freakin garbage? I hate this thing

  • Using digital camera as webcam

Well, it'd be nice to use my digital camera as a webcam under linux(I can do it under windows). The camera is a Nova DC-2L (finding info for it is a bitch). Well I'm wondering on how to get it working as a webcam under linux..
Under windows all I gotta do is set the cam to webcam mode on the camera then plug it in, and it's good to go from there..
Well I dunno what driver the camera uses as a webcam so I guessed qc-usb as it seemed to be the only one listed on the wiki page
sorta preEDIT: Ok as I was about to post the device info I seen that Zoran is what it came up as, so I looked it up and the module for it is zr36067, but when I try to modprobe it I get:
FATAL: Error inserting zr36067 (/lib/modules/2.6.9-ARCH/kernel/drivers/media/video/zr36067.ko): No such device
    any ideas?

First of all, use udev. devfs is mostly useless if you want to use USB.
in udev rules, you need something like:
    #camera
    KERNEL="sda*" SYMLINK="camera%n"
    KERNEL="video[0-9]" SYMLINK ="video%n"
I dont like a zillion groups, so I change my permissions,
    sd*:root:users:660
    #camera devices
    camera*:root:users:0600
    usb/dc2xx*:root:users:0600
    usb/mdc800*:root:uesrs:0600
The problem with devfs prevented me from using my camera as a webcam and mounted storage device without restarting devfs and fiddling with the mounting of usbfs or whatever it was called.
    cat /proc/bus/usb/devices
should tell you what is being seen on the bus.

Since I joined creative cloud, I have not been able to sync. Why the difference? Worked good during initial trial.
Also I had installed the Mosaic app for ipad before Lightroom mobile came out and I cannot seem to get rid of it. How can I get mosaic out? I have cancelled, I have deleted, I have looked through the files for visible remnants.

The sync count is 60 and static. The total number synced so far is 500+. None have been synced from the ipad except for corrections made there on those already synced.
I have deleted the Mosaic app from all machines and checked the library folder and have contacted the Mosaic tech support and they have discontinued my subscription. I still get mosaic messages on initiating Lightroom and sometimes at closing.
I have not tried to sync fewer yet, but some catalogs that I have tried are smaller numbers. Initially, it did well on good connections. Nothing works on my home connections over satellite.

  • How do I use the built-in camera or webcam?

I know this may sound very elementary but there was no documentation with my Mac when I bought it new (except a thin flimsy pamphlet with very baic stuff in it) and the help menu comes up with nothing at all when I search for web cam, webcam or isight.
Where do I go to learn about how to use the built-in camera/web cam as a camera and also as a web cam?
    Thank you

There should have been a seventy page booklet in the box with your new iMac.  If yours is the latest version, clicking here will download it if you cannot find the physical copy.  If yours is an older iMac model, you can search for the correct manual from the iNtel iMac Support Page > "Manuals" link.
After that, Mac 101 is a great web-based information source.  If you don't need general help, take a look here for specifics about each application of interest.
VortexBoy wrote: ... and the help menu comes up with nothing at all when I search for web cam, webcam or isight....
If your posted info is correct that you are running Mac OS X (10.7.3), you should be able to get started by using your Mac's Finder > Help menu command.  Searching for "camera" (without quotation marks) on my 10.7.3 Mac returns Mac's Help article entitled "Use your Mac’s built-in camera."  This is the web version of the same help.
Other apps, like QuickTime Player (the Lion QT 10.x version), and iMovie (part of iLife that came with your Mac) can also use your iMac's camera.
iMovie Help or this web page version of the same help will explain how to "Record video directly into iMovie".
Use QTX Player's File > New Movie Recording menu command to record video with it.  You can configure size and quality of the recorded material by using QTX's preferences as shown in this image:

Different apps do not all work the same.  For function-specific help, search Help in separate camera applications; i.e., after you launch Photo Booth, iChat, QTX, iChat, etc., use the individual app's Help menu command to search for more info on the camera or what you want to do.
This article offers great basic tips about how to position, light, and use built-in cameras.  Although its subject shows it was written for iMacs, it is equally applicable to other reader's inbuilt Apple cameras, too.
For more specialized functions than those offered by the camera software already included with your Mac, you can search the Mac App Store for other apps that can use your camera.
For webcam help with iChat, use Apple's iChat Support page if you need more help that that provided in the dialog boxes and iChat > Help on your Mac.
To use your camera with FaceTime, search your Mac's FaceTime > Help or these web versions of the same Help topics that should be available on your Mac.
Skype or other third party webcam apps will offer their own Help menus of varying quality.  In additon to these app Help services, some apps offer comprehensive Support services via their web page.  If you decide to add Skype to your Mac, you can click here to review the excellent Skype Support pages.
If you need to start a new topic for specific questions after you get started, give as much detail about what you want to do and what you may have already tried unsuccessfully.  We will offer specific suggestions based on the details you provide.
    Enjoy your new Mac!

  • How to use video camer as Webcam?

I have a Sony PD150 and want to use it as a webcam. Does anybody know how to do this? Can this be accomplished with some free software?
    Thanks
    chephoto

Plug the camera into the mac via firewire. Put the camera into camera mode - as opposed to VCR mode.
Open iChat. It should recognize any firewire input videocamera. iSight is firewire.
The problem you will have, depending on your application, is that after being in standby mode for a while, with no action, will force to camera to sleep. Maybe you can tweak this in the PD150 though and force it to supress the sleep mode. Don't know.
But you've already got everything you need - hardware/software related. Just a matter of whether or not the potential quirks can be eliminated/dealt with.
EDIT: PS - Welcome to the forum....

  • Using mobile camera to send images to the web server at regular intervals

    Hi All,
I am developing an application in which the camera is kept on and it takes picture at regular intervals 30 sec to be exact. And that picture is sent to the web server so that can be viewed at the server. Now I am testing this application on Nokia E50 but after running for 3 hours there was an error given as below
MediaException: (in takes Symbian OS error :-2
Whats this error about? Is this an OS error or theres some fault within the coding. Please reply its urgent.
    Thanks in advance
    Sunil

    Hi Db,
I have tried what you have said but now the problem is that it gives Symbian OS : -4 error which is a memory error. Actually what happens in the project is that once the connection between web server and the mobile breaks down the mobile will continuosly try to establish the connection and in doing so it will create new objects. There is no limitation on the number of times the connection attempts can be made. It will keep on trying till the connection is established. If that is the reason which is causing the problem then I think I may have to find another way for the connection to be established.
    Thanks in advance

  • JMF Registry Capture Device register a mobile camera(Problem or Impossible)

    Hi all
I have found some softwares that allows us using mobile phone camera as a web cam and use with skype, yahoo messenger etc... Those allows us use them as wireless web cameras and medium is bluetooth or wifi. So I am wondering whether they can register with JMF capture device registry and using for our java applications?
Supporting for wireless capability is important if they can registered. Otherwise we have to go for an expensive IP cameraWhat I want to point out is they detect as registered web cameras in skype and yahoo messenger but not with JMF.
This is the software which I have tried
    [http://www.wwigo.com/home.php]
    Can anyone please answer?
Edited by: deshan on May 3, 2009 3:33 PM

JMF will only work with web cameras that are accessible through the DirectShow or VFW interfaces. If the way you're accessing them isn't available through one of those two APIs, then JMF probably won't be able to use the web cam.
But, of note, JMF doesn't need a web cam to be registered to use it, it simply needs to know the hardware URL of the web cam. Normally this is something like "vfw://0" for the default camera.
If you could get a URL like that, and use it as a MediaLocator for your DataSource, then you could possibly use your web cam without having to register it.

  • Can digital cam serve webcam purpose?

    hello thats my question
i have digital canon camera, i want to now is it posible to use it as web cam .And the same with mini DV camcorders.
cause i saw in the mac shop they had conected digital camcorder to mac ,can i do the same on macbook?

Most MiniDV cameras will serve as a webcam via USB or Firewire connection. The hardware is Mac compatible. This may also be an option with some digital camera, though you'd need to check the specs of the digital camera first to see if it offers the feature. If it offers it, chances are it will work on the mac as well since it really comes down to USB or FW functionality. It's almost a given that it will work with mini-DV, but digital cameras will be model specific.
Best advice is to check the manuals of the camcorder or camera to ensure functionality and compatibility. But yes, in theory it should work.

  • Use foscam IP Camera as Webcam

So, here is the scenario :
    - I have 4 Foscam IP Cams around my home I want to be able to use as a webcam on my Mac
    - Each cam supports MJPEG
    - I need to be able to use the IP of the cam (http://192.168.0.2) or (http://192.168.0.2/videostream.cgi) and make OSX think it is a webcam.
    - On Windows, this can be accomplished using a driver (eg www.webcamxp.com has a driver that allows this)
Any suggestions on how I would accomplish this on OSX?
    Thanks

I would say NO. You would need a composit output from the camera to feed the video into the encoder. Since the IP camera doesn't do that it's not gonna work.

It's a good question, but this function is going to be pretty rare and you are probably best off purchasing a dedicated webcam.

  • Ligthroom mobile & camera

    Hi,
    How you doing?
I was wondering if there's a way (or plans) to extend the lightroom mobile feature to a wide range of camera?
Because an iphone isn't like a DSLR.
I've been searching on the internet, it's kinda like shooting untethered.
This discussion is interesting Untethered solutions for shooting Canon 5d III to PC? - FM Forums
    What you think?
    Thanks

Can I wait until a have an error message again before I sent you my images?   Lightroom mobile is working for the moment.
Here is what I’ve done so far on my last attempt
    Remove app from ipad
Remove synchronisation on the problem collection ( Desktop)
    Restart Ipad
    Reinstall app on ipad
    Resync problemed collection
Result: Ligthroom moblile is working correctly
    Activated offline editing
