Mobile demo client

Hi All
I am trying to install a Demo Client for giving demo to business users.
The install version is 5.0 SP11 and the database is SQL Server Express 2005. I have installed the Mobile Client MSA and MSV with demo data but not Mobile Studio since I dont have Visual Studio 2005 installed.
The IDES databae got installed correctly and the data is also there and the install for all the components was successful.
The problem is whenever I try to login to the client using crmuser with password crm I get an error saying BusinessRootObjectCore.Login error and the application closes.
Does anybody know how to login to the Demo Client and is there any settings that need to be done just to make the Demo Mobile Client working.

Please verify the following to resolve the issue,
1. Implement the note 1099457 which has latest Run tim framework fixes.
2. Check the DSN settings in ODBC. ( Run prompt -> odbcad32, check the ides dsn settings).
3. Go to Registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\MSA\MW\security\user and check the IDES Database details.
4. Go to Folder %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\SAP AG, delete the folder called
'CRM Mobile Sales Application'.
Hope the above steps would resolve the issue. In case issues, Kindly revert back.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly!
When I signed in to Event Viewer, I got an error message that my event services weren't running, so I downloaded this fix from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2478117
That started my Event Services and allowed me to sign into Event Viewer and clear my logs. They are all clear now.
Then I repaired my version of 11G and rebooted, but am still unable to connect to the database or the Get Started URL.

Logon AMT - IDES demo client?

Hello Mobile Experts
I have installed a demo client of mobile sales 5.0. I get an error, when I try to create a new business partner, and I would therefore like to check the authorization and roles of the user. Im using the SAPCRM user to connect to the demo client.
I have installed the AMT tool, but I dont know which logon on to use. I cannot reset logon through the SMOEAC transaction since the client isnt connect to any CRM Server.

Nokia mobile VPN Client - split tunneling

Hi
I'm trying to get Nokia mobile CPN Client working with split tunneling on a Cisco firewall.
I have full access to all on my internal lan's when I make the VPN tunnel, so tunnel is up and working.
But I do not have access to anything in the internet, it tries to route internet requests through the VPN. I have set split tunneling on the Cisco firewall and it is working as intended on all other devices.
Any ideas of what I have missed?
My policy is based on the bundled Cisco_ASA_pskxauth.pol from the Nokia mobile VPN Client Policy Tool.

Mobile Sync Client does not save password properly

The Mobile Sync Client (simple_sync_android application provided with Oracle DMS) does not appear to save password correctly. When you select the checkbox to Save Password, my guess is that it stores an encrypted password but then does not return the decrypted version of the password. As a result login fails with the error
Encountered error: Server error, id = 2,001: "USER_INVALID in external auth; logon denied."

Error: "Mobile java client attributes not maintained" while activating DO

Hi All,
i got error while activating the Data Object: "Mobile java client attributes not maintained".
how to resolve this error, and why this error is coming?
I am migrating the MI 2.5 application into the MI 7.1 application.In new MI 7.1 application some synbo's are imported using the text file and some new data objects are created. Imported synbo's are activated successfully, but newly created objects are not activated because of the above error.
Can we solve above error or is there any restriction that in Migration project ( project with backward compatibility ) we can't create new Data objects?

10g Forms Demo - Client side host command Jar file.

The deployment architecture is different between forms 10g and forms 6i.
In Forms 6i HOST built-in command will run on the client machine since you are running as client/server, but in WebForms (Forms10g) the HOST built-in command will run on the middle tier which is your application server machine.
In order to run hosts commands in WebForms you need to use webutil and use CLIENT_HOST in the webutil.
check the [Forms 10g R2 Demo|http://download.oracle.com/otndocs/demos/Forms_Demos_10gr2.zip] for sample codes of webutil.
You are using NO_SCREEN in your example, this will hide the window.

Forcing mobile ActiveSync clients to re-initiate Autodiscover process

Is there a way on the Exchange server to force all connected mobile ActiveSync clients to reinitiate the autodiscovery process?
We would like to change the "External URL" in the Exchange Client Access Server configuration for ActiveSync and have that pushed out to all the existing mobile clients so that they receive mail using the new URL.
We understand that if new phones are added, they will get the new URL via autodiscover, but is there a way for all the existing phones to get updated without removing and re-adding the account.

No. As long as the existing URL they are using is valid, they will continue to use it unless they create a new profile.

Web Service
In .Net I have created WCF services. What is the Java equivalent? Is it EJB?Definitely not EJB. The closest would be web services or RPC
Data Synchronisation
.Net has a Sync Framework. Basically it allows you to synchronise data from a main database (usually SQL Server) to a database on the mobile device (usually SQL Server CE). Is there a Java equivalent?My impression is not that this is specifically .NET, or at least not something you have to write code against. It's a service that you buy and deploy, right?
UI and UI Markup
The last time I used Java, Swing was what was used. Is that still the case? Is there a Java equivalent of Xaml? Xaml is an Xml like markup language which Microsoft uses for defining UI. It is very useful.There is no xaml equivalent. Swing it is as far as I know.
Data/Business Layer Utility
Is there are tool which will allow you to point at a data structure and pump out class files which reflect the database's structure? .Net has something called Entity Framework for this.Sounds like a job for Hibernate or similar ORM tool to me.
Auto Generation of Web Services
This is related to the first item Web Service, and the above item. Is there a way to pump out the services services automatically? In .Net I have written libraries that pump out Web Methods for saving, loading and deleting records in each of the tables in the database. Microsoft has something called RIA Architecture for this. Is there an equivalent in Java? I have no comment on this.

Lync mobile W8 client unable to process a call on Nokia lumia 920 A&TT

I have and end user that can use all other functionality of the lync mobile client it just will not process a call.
The logs from the phone are not very helpful....
I have others with newer nokia lumia 9xx devices that work.
They are on verizon.
The user does not see "Cert errors" when trying to go to our external web link.

From your description, it seems the issue only happen for one mobile client.
If it is the case, please login to other mobile Lync client with the issued Lync account to check if the issue happen with Lync account.
For the issued mobile, please try to update to the latest version of Lync mobile client and then test again.

AMT in demo client

Hi gurus
I have installed the demo version of Mobile Client 5.0 in my pc. Now, in Authorization Management Tool(AMT), the predefined roles are not visible. Only the roles SAP_AMT_USER and SAP_AUTH_DISABLED are visible there.
Can u plzz tell me whether I'll get all the pre-defined roles here? If yes, how??

Depending from the business process you need to define your own roles based on the used IAC like business components, tilesets and tiles.
Besides this: I cannot see any need for an authorization in a demo installation environment on one single machine without replication and user management...

ASA 5505 VPN and Sprint Mobile Broadband clients.

I have a strange problem, it's something that just started recently when we had a user try to gain access with a Sprint Mobile Broadband card. We have quite a few remote users, probably not more than 6 ever connected to the VPN at once, and I have not heard of any issues until recently. We are starting to require more travel to remote locations, so the use of the hotel internet, as well as Sprint mobile broadband is becoming more important.
There are a few issues here. Everything is IPsec.
Mac OSX with VPN client version 4.9.01 will connect to the VPN when connected to a normal internet connection, but as soon as it gets on the Sprint Mobile Broadband device, it connects for exactly 5 seconds and disconnects.
Windows XP Pro, has no problems with normal internet, on the wireless broadband modem, it will connect to the VPN, but have no access to internal resources or access to the internet.
Windows Vista, has issues all the way around, but mainly when connected to the wireless it has the same issues as XP minus the internet browsing.
Strange thing is, all these problems seem to been different, but they all started around the same time. I have been testing everything I can think of. Talked to Sprint, which the lady there was actually very helpful...just have to get to the right person. But nothing we tried did any good.
Does anyone know of any settings on my ASA that I need to change in order to get these types of connections to work?
The best part of all this is that my Linux machine can connect/surf/and browse the internal network through the VPN just like it normally would work.
Something has to be wrong with my client config settings that is causing this to happen.

Have you enabled NAT Traversal? (Both on the Client and ASA)
